“You came all the way to give it back to me?”
Words: 958
*
Here goes nothing. You knocked on the front door that you’d walked away from only a few months ago, taking a deep breath as you heard footsteps shuffling the other side. Eventually the door opened, revealing your ex-boyfriend, who took one look at you and sighed.
“What are you doing here?” Mika said tiredly.
You swallowed heavily, biting your lip briefly as you looked him over. To anyone that didn’t know him well, they probably wouldn’t notice any difference. But that wasn’t the case for you – three years with him had given you plenty of time to notice all the little things about Mika, and there was so much that concerned you already. The way his hair was ever so greasy at the roots – he hated letting his hair look so unkempt, and you couldn’t actually remember any time other than when he was sick with the flu that he’d let it get this way since you’d known him. There were also the little dark circles under his eyes – he had always been a good sleeper, always woke up with glowing skin, always looked awake and perky and fresh, so for him to have those tired eyes? And then there were his lips – usually so soft and perfect, so pink and pink, but right now they were dry and chapped, with a clear crack in the bottom lip too, and it wasn’t like him to neglect his self-care like this.
And it only solidified your gut feeling of needing to come over to see him tonight.
“I wanted to give you this back,” you murmured.
Mika frowned as you held out your hand, but his lips parted as you opened your fist to reveal a soft pink scrunchie. His soft pink scrunchie.
“You came all the way to give it back to me?” he said softly, confused.
“Yes?” you said hesitantly.
Mika’s confusion shifted to a soft smile. “Really?” he said, raising an eyebrow.
You felt your cheeks heat up, busted, but you bit your bottom lip briefly before offering him a shrug. He always had been able to read you, always did call you out on the untruths, and even though you weren’t together anymore, clearly that hadn’t changed.
“I miss you. I miss you so much. And maybe it’s crazy but I had to see you,” you admitted.
Mika huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. “You’d better come inside. My neighbours don’t need to hear this.”
Well he had a point there – and there was no way you were going to waste this chance, not if he was extending the olive branch like this. Mika stepped to the side, letting you walk past him into the house you used to call your home, but it wasn’t until he’d closed the door behind you that he cleared his throat.
“I thought you didn’t want to wait around for a guy who couldn’t prioritise you?” Mika said softly.
You winced at the sadness in his eyes, knowing that all the stupid things you’d said to him in the heat of the moment were just that – angry flyaway comments that should never have been said, and yet you’d said them all to his face anyway. And you’d hurt him.
But the fact that he was even still standing there, talking to you, holding the scrunchie that you’d – let’s be honest – used as an excuse to see him again, it gave you hope.
“I was stupid. And wrong, so so wrong, Mika. I was angry at your schedule, at the fucking NHL having a Rangers away game on my birthday. Every year you missed things that were important to me, through no fault of your own, and that night was three years of built up frustration. I should never have taken that out on you,” you said softly.
If you could be vulnerable with him right now, be completely honest, putting all your cards out on the table, then it had to mean something, right?
“No you shouldn’t have. It wasn’t fair on me at all, and you know it. You knew it then and you still said it anyway. What changed, for you to come back here?” Mika said shortly.
Alright, you deserved that, you could admit it, his words and his tone of voice.
“Waking up in a bed that isn’t ours, without your arms around me, it doesn’t feel right. Not hearing your off-key singing in the shower, or smelling the amazing food you cook, or making you laugh so hard that you get tears in your eyes – I miss it. I miss you. And I miss us, because we were so good, and I threw it all away like an idiot.”
Mika’s lips parted in surprise at your rant, his cheeks flushing softly, but it was the small smile on his lips that made you lose a little of the tension in your shoulders.
“You’re not an idiot,” he murmured.
You let out a dry laugh, shaking your head. “I let you go, of course I am.”
He chewed his bottom lip as he fell silent in thought, and it was all you could do to keep your hands from shaking, your heart completely laid out for him. If he turned you away now, that was it. There was nothing left that you could say. It was all on him now, as it should be.
“Do you want to stay for a drink?”
Mika’s soft voice broke you out of your spiralling thoughts, and his smile widened into a grin as he realised it too. But you just nodded, smiling shyly back. This was your chance, your second chance with him, and there was no way you were going to waste it.
“I’d like that.”

2093 Drabbles - Family- Mika’s Mom
https://archiveofourown.org/works/39651339/chapters/99869352
“Hey, what’s up? You’ve had this weird look on your face ever since breakfast.”, asked Mika as he leaned into Chris’s space.
Chris was sitting on the bench at the garden area of Mika’s parents house enjoying the sunshine in the mid-morning hours when Mika walked out of the house to join him. Mika’s mother, Ritva, had kicked everyone out of the kitchen but Chris had managed to charm her into allowing him to help her with the clean up. Mika had wanted to stay and help but his dad asked for his help to move things around to make more room in the dining area for dinner later that day when more family was coming over.
They were spending a month in Sweden during the summer; something they had done before but this was their first year as an official couple. Their families had been nothing but supportive and actually thought that they were announcing their engagement rather than their relationship at first. It seems like the whole world caught on to their feelings before they did.
Mika notices the tears in Chris’s eyes as Chris pulls Mika towards him to stand between his legs. These didn’t look like sad tears but Mika was concerned nonetheless. “Hey”, says Mika softly as Chris hides his head on Mika’s shirt. Mika’s hands settle gently on Chris’s shoulder and hair as he starts to stroke Chris’s hair soothingly.
“I’m fine, I just need a minute.”, mumbles Chris into Mika’s shirt. “Ok, take all the time you need.”, responds Mika. After a minute of just holding each other, Mika jokes, “My mom didn’t give you a shovel talk, did she? She told me she liked you.”
Chris starts laughing and slowly, he pulls away enough to see Mika’s face. He’s still crying but he looks happy and overwhelmed? “I could have handled a shovel talk better, I think.”, says Chris as Mika start to wipe away his tears. “She hugged me then she cried and told me she loves how happy we make each other. Then she said she loved me and hugged me some more.”, he continues as he blinks rapidly to hold back more tears.
“Oh älskling,” starts Mika, as he pulls away to kneel in front of Chris and bringing them face to face. “I told you they love you. They might love you more than me at this point.”, teases Mika as he kisses Chris forehead.

The Arrangement Part 8
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 * Part 5 Part 6 Part 7
Summary: You’re an aspiring model in NYC who is offered an opportunity of a lifetime - an arranged relationship with a famous Ranger. Things start out rough and are further complicated by the fact that you’re already in a relationship. Will you be able to figure things out or will it all end in disaster? Word Count:2,079
Warnings: none, besides its been v long since the last update (im so sorry LMAO) so if their are minor inconsistencies in the story line I am sORRY I think everything adds up though. And gain we are pretending the media surrounding hockey is a much bigger deal lol
It was a bittersweet day. Sure you were getting to see Mika, something that would always be a bright spot in your day, however it was the last time you were allowed to be together. After tonight, being with him would put both of you in jeopardy. If his contract was anything like yours, he be sued for an obscene amount of money.
You tried to push this thought out of your head as you waited for Fred to arrive to take you on the final date. Tonight you were going to a little rooftop bar in Greenwich Village. It was going to be one of your more public dates, and that’s just how management wanted it.
You were supposed to act like you were upset and be distant from each other. That way when they leaked that the two of you broke up, witnesses would say how unhappy you looked together. It was the perfect set up.
A knock at the door pulled you from your thoughts. You instantly smiled seeing Harry standing on the other side. You would have thrown your arms around him, but he had a giant bouquet of flowers in his hands.
“Here love,” Mika said, handing you the arrangement for pink and purple flowers. It was much bigger than any of the others he has gotten you. “Sorry it’s so big, I didn’t get you any for our last date and I wanted to make up for it,” he explained, as if reading your mind.
“You so don’t have anything you need to make up for,” you gushed, kissing his cheek, “But I love them so much, thanks Mika.” You clutched the flowers to your chest, bring them your kitchen table - which had been bare without his bouquets. When you got back to Mika you hugged him tightly, breathing in his fresh minty scent.
“I missed you too,” he chuckled, teasing you for hugging him like you hadn’t seen him in months.
“Sorry,” you laughed at yourself, “Guess I just can’t get enough of you.”
“Understandable,” Mika winked, “Now let’s head out, don’t wanna keep Fred waiting.”
You walked hand in hand to the car, greeting Fred with a big smile. You were going to miss him, you thought. He was always a friendly face when you needed it. Not to mention, you may have never told Mika how you really without him.
“Did I tell you how beautiful you look yet? Because you’re absolutely stunning, the outfit, you hair, everything,” Mika commented. His warm eyes traced your body under the dim car lights.
“Oh, come on, it’s nothing special,” you blushed, never being great with compliments. Plus, your outfit was pretty simple after all: a tailored white blouse, snug blue jeans, and pink heels.
“On the contrary,” Mika replied, “it’s special just because you’re wearing it. I especially love these shoes. I think I’ve got a shirt that color, we should match one day.” You smiled, your heart filling with joy when he spoke of a future with you.
“It’s a date.” Mika squeezed your hand and kissed your cheek. Part of you didn’t want to go anywhere. You’d be happy to just ride around with him for a few hours.Unfortunately that was not part of the plan.
“Here,” Fred announced.
“Let’s do this,” Mika said, taking your hand in his. You walked more confidently through the crowd of photographers. The flashes were still annoying, but they didn’t bother you nearly as much as they did when you were first exposed to them.
“You’re getting good at that,” Mika noted.
“I learned from the best,” you winked. Mika smiled, glad that you were getting over your discomfort with all the paparazzi. He knew that if you two were to stay together, you were going to have to get used to extra attention.
The two of you decided to take the stairs, considering it wasn’t too high up. You were a little breathless when you reached the top - stairs were never really your friend - but it was definitely worth it. It was a beautiful roof top, lined with shrubbery and flowers making it fell more like a garden than a city building.
“This is amazing,” you breathed. It was a perfect night for this too, not a single cloud in the sky. The moon was bright, washing over all the people mingling. The skyline melted into the inky black sky, building lights twinkling like stars.
“It is quite nice, isn’t it?” Mika agreed. The two of you weaved through people, finding a little standing table no one was using. You were surprised no one seemed too interested in Mika, but then again, this bar was a favorite of many famous people so it wasn’t a shock to see someone.
Mika went to get you two drinks, returning with glass in each had. “So, we’re not playing along with this stupid act annoyed shit they want us to do, right?” Mika asked, taking a sip of his drink.
“I’d rather not,” you replied. If it was your last “safe” night with Mika, you didn’t want to spend it acting like you didn’t like him.
“I was thinking we give ‘em hell this last night,” Mika smirked, “They’re going to be pissed at us anyway, might as well have fun with it.” You were about to reply when your ringing phone cut you off. Normally, you wouldn’t answer the phone during a date, but you recognized the number from the Gucci audition.
“Hello?” you answered, nerves filling your body. This could be it.
“Hey y/n, it’s the creative director of the Gucci New York Fashion Week show, do you have a minute?” the woman asked.
“Of course.” You tried to sound nonchalant but there was definitely a hint of excitement in your voice.
“Great, well I am happy to say we have chosen you to be one of the models who walks in our show,” she told you.
“Oh my god, that’s amazing.Thank you so much,” you gushed, unable to act put together. Mika looked at you quizzically, wondering what you were so excited about.
“Of course! We are so excited to be working with you, you really impressive,” she replied.
“That means so much, it’s such an honor to be chosen,” you said. The woman explained she would be in contact in the future about fittings and dress rehearsals. You listened as carefully as you could not wanting to miss anything in your excited state. When you finally hung up, you turned to Mika, squealing with joy.
“What is it love?” he asked.
“I got a spot in the Gucci fashion show!” you exclaimed. Mika’s face lit up. He picked you up and spun you around.
“I’m so proud of you babe,” he smiled, planting kisses all over your face. A couple people in the surrounding area looked over at the two of you. Definitely won’t look like the two of you are fighting.
“I have to thank you for it, I never would have even gotten the opportunity without you,” you replied, so incredibly grateful for him. This was something you’ve dreamed of for so long and could really change your career.
Mika shook his head. “Not me babe, all you. And I can’t wait to be sitting front row watching my beautiful girlfriend on the runway.” Mika moved closer to you, his hands slipping around your waist. “May just have to buy whatever you’re wearing so I can fuck you in it.”
“Mika,” you blushed, “Someone’s gonna hear you.” The rooftop was getting progressively more crowded and he wasn’t exactly being quiet.
“I don’t care,” Mika replied, “I’m sick of not being able to say how I feel. I love you and I want everyone to know. I love you, I love you, I love you.” His voice got louder as he spoke, grabbing the attention of people around you.
Mika took your by the arm, leading you to the edge of the rooftop. He leaned over the edge a bit. He yelled and waved trying to get the attention of the photographers below. Some turned up, cameras flashing, desperate to get photos of the two of you.
“I love this woman! I love this woman so much!” He yelled, giving you a kiss in between.
“You’re crazy,” you laughed as he peppered kisses all over you.
“Just crazy about you,” he smirked.
“Corny ass,” you teased, rolling your eyes.
The two of you had a great rest of the night, dancing and laughing together. You knew there would be hell to pay, but Mika’s carefree attitude was rubbing off on you. In the end, you knew you two would have each other and that made you feel safe.
At the end of the night, the two were headed for the exit, hand in hand. Mika stopped you right before the door. “Wanna go out with a bang?” Harry smirked.
“What do you have in mind?” you asked.
“Just follow my lead,” Mika replied with a wink. You didn’t know what he had in mind, but you were down. You nodded and Mika smiled, leading you through the heavy doors. The flashes were instant and abundant.
“Mika, y/n, over here!”
“How long have you been dating!”
“Mika what were you saying on the roof?”
Harry stopped in the middle of the crowd. The photographers looked on anxiously, waiting for something they could use.
“Y/n and I are in love,” he announced simply. He took you, and dipped you down, kissing you deeply. So dramatic, you thought as he kissed you. But you secretly loved it. Even with your eyes closed you could see the lights going off like crazy. There was no way management wasn’t going to see this.
After a few moments, Mika pulled away and continued to the car. He smiled and waved at cameras, something he didn’t usually do. He was really playing it up.
“You’re so ridiculous,” you laughed as he pulled the car door shut.
“But you love it, don’t you?” he teased.
“Guilty,” you replied, kissing him quickly.
“Fred, you can just take us to my place,” Mika announced, squeezing your thigh. You were excited, having never been to his apartment before. You rested your head on Mika’s shoulder during the drive, suddenly realizing how sleepy you were. You hoped Mika had a comfy pair of sweats for you to change into because you were absolutely sick of these jeans.
“Here we are,” Fred announced, “Before you guys go, I just want to see I’ve really enjoyed driving you two around. Today is supposed to be my last day, but I know it’s definitely not your last day together. Whatever happens, I know you two will get through it. I wish you all the best.”
“That was so sweet,” you gushed, almost feeling like you could cry, “Thank you for everything, really. You’ve been incredible.”
“It was my pleasure, I only ask I get invited to the wedding,” he joked.
“Of course,” Mika chuckled. After a final goodbye the two of you headed out.
“Jesus,” you gasped, walking into Mika’s place. It was huge, the living room bigger than your entire apartment.
“Oh this old thing?” Mika joked. “If you think this is nice, you should see my place in Sweden.”
“Can we go after this mess is over?” you asked.
“Of course babe,” Mika replied, wrapping his arms around you, “We’re going to go every where together.”
Mika kissed you softly and you felt like you were flying. If you hadn’t been so tired you probably would have gone further, but right now you needed sleep. Plus, you imagined you had a big day ahead of you tomorrow once management caught wind of these pictures.
“How soon do you think we’ll be called in?” You asked Mika as you pulled on one of his tees (he gave you a super comfy pair of sweatpants too, which you were completely jazzed about).
“I’m surprised they haven’t called already,” Mika said, peeling off his clothes, leaving him in just a pair of black boxers. He grabbed your waist, pulling you down onto the bed with him.
“Well whatever happens, at least we’ll go through it together,” you said, snuggling against his side.
“Yeah, you couldn’t get rid of me if you tried,” Mika smiled, kissing your forehead. Nestled together, you both drifted to sleep, worries of what tomorrow would bring far from your mind.

N U R S E ! (I swear I chose all of these just because I wanted to know, I wasn't purposefully trying to spell that haha.) for E, what would a sequel to lactation fic be like!
you are so lovely <3 thank you
N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?
oh dear, you know my graveyard of fics. It'd be wonderful if someone wrote my max has a small dick fic for me but I also want to write it XD
U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet.
oh interesting. Hm. Chris Kreider/Mika Zibanejad? also Viktor/Jayce!!
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
you :)
and hm I guess Cornelia Funke is the author who truly ignited my love for reading as a kid. there's my ex boyfriend (kinda, don't ask) who was a writer (not published) who's the reason i started writing myself and 'betaing'.
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
well you know I love me some hurt/comfort, I love angsst, I love fucked up shit, and with Maxiel, god where do I start, what do I lvoe about them? how different they are, how special, how people in their world and look at them and say 'this is unusal' and jsut like the drama of it all, the pain, the choices, the whole 'loving oyu has been the best and worst choice I ever made' vibe...
E: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?
a sequel to my lactation fic? Well As you know i wrote this in a crunch so I didn't have time to write all the scenes i wanted to. I had planned to bring things full circle where they do stuff semi-publically in a bathroom at the circuit. Where like max gets out fo the car and he's dying with how full he feels with how much he needs to get the milk out and Daniel *knows* so he finds him and jsut strips his tits out of his racing suits and drinks from him right then and there. I guess that'd be in the sequel

Finnish national team 2019 (aka viime kevään leijonat) for the hockey ask meme 🦁💙
is my favourite - Veli-Matti Savinainen
i like the most when it comes to the appearance - Vellu too
i would play a prank on - maybe Juho Lammikko? I don't know why he came to mind. Or something dumb with Anttila's sticks.
i would get drunk with - oh Savinainen. Definitely. 3 day bender.
i would choose for my partner if i got an invitation for a wedding - I'll have him there too, I've seen nice pics of him in his friend weddings on his ig!
i could just cuddle all day long - - I said in the previous ask that I don't like the idea of cuddling all day long but I'll make an exception here. Me and Vellu will need it after our 3 day bender
i would ask for an advice if i had problems - Marko Anttila for president!
i would bake cookies for - Kevin Lankinen
i would read a fanfic about - any
i would write a fanfic about - I have my fav in two good fics set in 2017 and 2018 leijonat, don't have any new ideas now.
i would prefer to play in another team - none of them but I'd love it if Mika Zibanejad played for us. (I added this, forgot to answer it earlier)
Thank you for the ask!

2093 Drabbles - Telling the team
https://archiveofourown.org/works/39651339/chapters/99867795
One of the things they had to grapple with when they first officially started their relationship was who to tell, what to tell, when to tell and how to tell people. They talked about it so much round and round in circles and Chris, being Chris, had drawn out flow charts and timelines to help make sense of it. Family first, agents next then the team and then the coaches and other support staff.
It wasn’t that they wanted to hide their relationship, neither of them were ashamed of it, it was more of what the rest of the world could and would potentially bring into their lives after it became public. At the end of the day, they’re really just two guys who love each other and love playing hockey. They were still the same people that they were except they were now dating each other.
In the end, all their careful planning didn’t matter. They told their families first - pretty much as soon as they decided they were going to date. A few days after that, after a long game where they won in a shootout, Chris was riding high with the post-game in the locker room but also was so tired that he forgot about being careful and just pulled Mika in for a kiss. Mika didn’t really have enough time to react, decided to just say fuck it and went all in on the kiss.
Everyone in the room didn’t really seem shocked other than to fine them kissing in the locker room and pester them for details on when they first go together so they could know who finally won the betting pool that’s been running on them for years, years. It was King Henrik who won and he bought them a bottle of champagne from his winnings as a congratulations and a thank you as the pot was ridiculous. If anything, their teammates were more shocked over the fact that they had not been in a relationship all this time than the fact that they just started their relationship.
Artemi, Igor and a bunch of the other guys had told them later on that they felt sad that Mika and Chris didn’t seem comfortable being open about their relationship to the team all these years. They didn’t know how to broach the topic so they just stayed silent and hoped that the couple would one day feel safe enough that they could be open with the team. Once the truth came out that they just started dating, the guys just started chirping at them about being idiots who waited too long to get their shit together then took them out for drinks to celebrate.

Chris's wrist surgery - https://twitter.com/NYRangers/status/1540394374961549314?s=20&t=CJgO97bmrXs9jEoXViONyA
“Really, Mika?” asked Chris on facetime.
“What? You thought it too.. You were bitching at me on the phone for hours when it first came out and we weren't on it. It's a good thing you don't use twitter anymore or you’d have tweeted worse, especially since you’re on pain meds”, replied Mika
On the screen, Chris gives him a bitch face and says, “Ehh, maybe..I might switch to regular tylenol tonight. The wrist doesn’t seem so bad today..”
“It doesn’t seem so bad right now because you’re on the good stuff.. You’ll feel it even more if you switch to over the counter shit.”, says Mika. “It’s off season. You don’t need to rush the recovery..”
It really was unfortunate timing that Chris’s surgery had to happen when it did. The surgeon didn’t have another opening until August and by then, Chris’s recovery would bleed into training camp and potentially pre-season so the Ranger’s medical team jumped on it and Chris right away. Chris would also have to deal with wrist pain for that long if they pushed it and Mika wasn’t happy with that thought. In the end, they had to scrap the plans for traveling to Sweden together - Mika would go first so he could celebrate midsummer with his family and Chris would follow in two weeks after giving his wrist some time to recover and get stable.
Chris sighs, “It’s not that.. It’s just that the stuff they gave me makes me loopy and if I’m loopy, they won’t let me travel. If I had thought of it earlier, I could have probably been with you on midsummer instead of being stuck here in New York.”
“You’d have been miserable and in a lot of pain on the plane, Chris. I wouldn’t have let you do it. It was too soon after your surgery and hey, you’ll be flying here soon. It’s just a couple more days so follow the post-surgery instructions and I’ll see you soon”, says Mika.
“I know.. I just miss hanging out, that’s all.. New York doesn’t feel the same without you.”, says Chris softly as if he’s not sure if he should be saying those words out loud.
On the other side of the screen, Chris can see Mika’s face break into a soft smile and the knot in his chest unravels a little. “I know what you mean”, he hears Mika say, “Everyone says I’m moping since you’re not here. They’re all really excited to see you by the way. Nikki is already demanding to ride on your shoulders again since you’re the tallest one among us and Knox wants a ride too.”
“I can’t wait to see them. It’s been too long, Knox looks so big now in the pics you sent. Oh, should I bring them anything? I have time to shop around for something or get it delivered.”, asks Chris as he yawns and carefully stretches out on his couch, mindful of his wrist.
On the screen, Mika gives him a pointed look. “Chris, half the shit I brought back with me in my suitcases were stuff you bought for my whole family. That’s more than enough. You’re spoiling them worse than I am and that’s saying something.”
Chris chuckles, “Well, if they're covered, how about you then? Should I bring you anything?”, teases Chris.
“Just you. You're all I need”, replies Mika.

2093 Drabbles - Aftermath - Part 3 (Kreider/Zibanejad Fic)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/39651339/chapters/99541881
Chapter 3 under the cut
They haven’t really talked about what happens next for them. They really should but there’s a part of Mika that doesn’t want to bring it up in case it means they have to spend their break apart. While they’re both in a stable place mentally and emotionally now that it’s been a few days, the end of their season still stings and well, Mika doesn’t want to be apart from Chris just yet. It’s not that either of them are gonna fall apart if they separate; it’s just that the last few days where it’s been the two of them have been amazing and peaceful, as if the world can’t touch either of them and they can just be with each other.
It seems like a lot to ask Chris to drop everything and go to Sweden with him for the summer and Mika can’t just stay in Boston all summer either. They both have families they need to see and spend time with, not to mention setting up training so they keep in shape or get in better shape for the next season. Would Chris even want to spend the summer with Mika or has the past few days of the two of them living together been enough for Chris to want to leave and have some space to himself?
Or, maybe a compromise - they could spend a few weeks together somewhere, go to Sweden and Boston each for a bit then meet up a few weeks before training camp? He would have to suggest something that would interest Chris. Pulling up google, Mika searches for things to do or places to visit in the US. Chris was still wrapping up his final phone interviews in the living room so Mika had time to research. He had taken his interviews in his music room/office but had finished earlier so he had some time to kill.
Scrolling through the links, Mika finds one that looks promising and before he can chicken out, he texts the link to Chris’s phone. He can still hear Chris talking so it might be a while before Chris see’s it. Mika keeps scrolling through just in case that first suggestion didn’t spark joy. They’re on the road a lot during the season so Chris might not want to do a road trip. They could go to a resort somewhere and just be lazy under the sun? Europe maybe, play tourist for a few weeks?
After a few minutes, Chris comes to the music room and is leaning on the doorway asking, “Why did you send me a link to The 20 Most Beautiful Libraries in the U.S?”. Mika turns from the computer screen to look at Chris, smiles at him and takes a moment just to stare. Chris looks good, rested and without weight on his shoulders. God, he looks so handsome. “Mika?”, asks Chris after a beat.
Realizing that he’s just been staring, Mika clears his throat as he replies, “Throwing out ideas of what we can do this summer. Switch things up a bit. Figured we can do something together first before going back home to see our families. What do you think?”
“Of what? Doing something together or seeing the 20 beautiful libraries in the US?”, replies Chris. There’s a teasing tone in his voice that puts Mika at ease - it seems like he wasn’t the only one who wanted to spend more time together, thank God. Mika shouldn’t have worried about it hindsight. Chris continues, “I mean, do you really want to go on a road trip to see 20 libraries in the short off time that we have?”
“You’ll enjoy it”, shrugs Mika. Without thinking, Mika also says, “I just want to spend time with you.” Shit, why did he say that? At the doorway, Chris’s posture softens and the smile on his face becomes more pronounced. Mika’s face heats up but he refuses to turn away. “We can do other things if you want…”, he mumbles shyly.
Chris is still smiling as he walks into the room to lean against the desk. More like swaggers into the room if Mika is being completely honest. “Well… what if what I want is to go to Sweden with you?, asks Chris. Mika’s brain halts - he’s not sure he’s heard that correctly but at the same time, he’s never been more sure of anything in his life. It feels big and real, like scoring the game winning goal in OT big.
Chris continues, hesitantly and as if he rehearsed it, “It’s been a while since I’ve been to Sweden and I miss your family. Haven’t seen them since quarantine time. Facetime isn’t the same, Nikki’s grown so much bigger and Knox is running around now. I’ll have to come back early to see my family but we can worry about that later. We’ve seen them recently when they came up to watch the playoff games so I don’t think they’ll mind too much. You’ve got trainers lined up there too so we’ll be able to train together too and …”
Mika uses his foot to nudge Chris, interrupting him. “Chris, you had me at Sweden”, says Mika while looking into Chris’s eyes. Feeling brave, Mika reaches out to hold Chris’s hand as he continues, “I want you to. Of course you can come with me. The only reason I didn’t bring it up was because I didn’t think it was fair to ask that of you when I couldn’t do the same for you in Boston.”
Chris takes a deep breath, shoulders loosening as tension drops away from them. Using the hand Mika was holding, he shyly pulls Mika up towards him and into a hug. “Thank you”, Chris says softly into Mika’s shoulder where Chris is resting his head. “You’ll have to show me all the best spots for Fika.” “I’ll show you that and more. Whatever you want.”, replies Mika.

2093 Drabbles - Chris and Mika drabbles post Round Two exit of the Stanley Cup Playoffs 2021-2022 Season.
Loosely connected chapters
Chapter 1 under the cut
It’s been a few hours since the locker cleanout/post-season interviews. They’re both sitting next to each other on Mika’s couch watching some random thing on tv. Chris was still withdrawn and quiet from the interview, since the loss really, that Mika hadn’t wanted Chris to be alone. Mika just grabbed their stuff, tugged on Chris’s arm to make sure he was following him and led them both to his apartment.
In all honesty, Mika hadn’t wanted to be alone either but only if the other person was Chris. Everyone else was too much right now - commiserating with them and telling them how proud of the team they were, how no one expected them to get as far as they did this season and how they’ll be back better and stronger next year. If it was another member of the team, he and Chris would have to be "team leaders" and console that team member. It was a lot and while Mika was proud of them and the team, all he wanted to do was to just be sad about the loss and how their season was over. He and Chris will accept it eventually but they need time to process.
And Chris - Chris was still in his “managing the team” phase. Making sure the other team members were taken care of, pulling everyone aside and making sure they were dealing with the loss well and had plans for the break. He talked to all the support staff - media team, equipment team, coaching team and everyone else and thanked them for their help this season. Mika would bet his entire bank account that Chris hasn’t let himself have a quiet moment in his head. He was probably running the games in his head trying to figure out what they could have done differently and what they could improve on next year.
“When do you leave for Sweden?”asked Chris, breaking the silence in Mika’s living room.
Mika hummed and after a beat, replied “Sick of me already?”. Chris stills for a beat then chuckles, “Never..” And there it is. A soft smile forming on Chris’s face; Mika hasn’t seen a lot of those in the past few days. “You sure?” asks Mika as he nudges Chris’s shoulder. “I’ve been up in your space the last few days. Wouldn’t blame you if you told me to go.”
“If I wanted space, I’d tell you”, says Chris with an annoyed tone as he nudges Mika back. Doubling down, Chris lifts his arm and puts it over Mika’s shoulder pulling him into Chris. Mika shifts on the couch to get into a more comfortable position to lean into Chris and get his arm around Chris’s waist. “I know, I’m just joking. I’m not leaving you anytime soon.”, says Mika. “Good”, replies Chris as Mika feels him rest his head on Mika’s head.
“Might fall asleep on you though”, Mika mumbles as he feels Chris start playing with his hair. “We can nap together. We’ll order dinner when we wake up”, Chris replies. It’s been a long few days but right now, at this moment, it’s perfect.

2093 Drabbles - Aftermath - Part 2 (Kreider/Zibanejad Fic)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/39651339/chapters/99262944
Chapter 2 under the cut
“What do you want for dinner? We need to order something, I’m out of food here”, asks Mika while opening up food apps on his phone. Nobody bothered to stock up on groceries during playoffs - you didn’t have the energy to cook or you didn’t have the time. You were at the rink or on the road and the support team would make sure there was food available. Plus, Mika wasn’t sure when he was taking off so it didn’t seem to make much sense to do a grocery run.
Chris replies, “Something lean. I’m not that hungry.” Mika stops and looks up from his phone. He waits until Chris meets his eyes because he wants to make a point. “Chris, the season is over. No more diet plan - we’re pigging out. So, try again, what do you want for dinner?”
“Oh, right. Season’s over, I forgot”,says Chris as his voice tapers off. Fuck, this is not what Mika was going for. He had gotten Chris to soften up after their nap and now, Mika might have just ruined it. He has to fix this before Chris gets too into his head again - “Let’s just get everything.”
“Huh?”, asks Chris thrown off, “What do you mean by everything?”
“I mean everything. Everything we’ve been craving for during the season that we couldn't eat because it wasn't in our nutrition plan. Chinese, Thai, Greek, Vietnamese, Pizza, Pasta - let’s order everything and have our own little buffet here. Desserts too; cake, donuts, ice cream - the works.”
Chris's eyes soften as he looks at Mika with fond exasperation. He makes his way over to stand next to Mika and grabs Mika’s phone from his hands. He says, “You know there’s only two of us, right? We can’t eat that much and you’ll have a lot of leftovers. Not to mention, our stomachs would hate us if we really ate that much.”
Mika replies, “My fridge is empty so there’s no space issues. The leftovers just means we won’t have to order anything else for the next few days and our stomachs have handled worse. This way, we can just do nothing and be lazy for the next fews days and not have to worry about food.”
“Next few days? You’re gonna spoil me and I’ll never want to leave.”, teases Chris
“In case you haven’t noticed, dumbass, that’s kind of the point.”, replies Mika, mood turning serious. Nudging Chris’s shoulder, he continues softly as he’s suddenly unable to meet Chris’s eyes, “I’m not ready for you to go back to Boston and leave me.”
“Hey. Hey, Look at me.”, Chris says as his fingers reach out to Mika’s chin to tilt it upwards towards him. “You don’t have to bribe me to stay, Mika. I want to be here and I don’t want to leave you yet either. Ok?”. Mika nods ok as Chris continues to look in his eyes as though he's searching for something. He only lets go of Mika’s chin when he finds what he was looking for and Mika’s not entirely sure what it was.
Unlocking Mika’s phone, Chris scrolls through the food app Mika previously opened. “How about we get two or three different things for tonight and go from there. We can decide tomorrow what we feel like eating tomorrow and the days after that.”
“Sounds good, what do you want for tonight then?” asks Mika as he leans into Chris to see the phone screen. “Nope, I asked first so you get to decide tonight”, Chris replies teasingly. “Technically I asked first '', starts Mika as the two of them start this familiar song and dance on picking what to eat.

The Arrangement Part 6
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
Summary:  You’re an aspiring model in NYC who is offered an opportunity of a lifetime - an arranged relationship with a famous Ranger. Things start out rough and are further complicated by the fact you’re already in a relationship. Will you be able to figure things out or will it all end in disaster? Word Count:2,655
Warnings: None! sorry this took so long lol
The next morning you woke up the couch. In your emotional stupor, you somehow managed to pull yourself up to sit, despite the protest of your achy muscles. You blinked hard, trying - and failing - to get the sleep out of your eyes.
You couldn’t believe what happened last night. You had a feeling that this whole thing would blow up with Eric eventually. but you never thought it would happen like that. Everything happened to fast it felt like a blur. The one thing that did stand out was Mika’s words. It felt like a knife to the chest all over again thinking of him saying he never wanted to see you again.
You partly felt like you deserved it. What you said to him was awful. You don’t even know why you said it. Everything has been so crazy you went into self-defense autopilot and ended up fucking up something you really wanted.
All you wanted to do was mope all day, but apparently Alice had other plans. Your stomach lurched when her number flashed across your phone. She told you you needed to get down to the agency immediately. She wouldn’t say why, but she did not sound happy.
Your heart was thudding as you got ready. You looked in the mirror before leaving, red puffy eyes staring back at you. You weren’t at all happy with how you looked, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
You walked briskly through the city, wanting to get whatever Alice was going to talk to you about over with. With each block closer you got, your nerves grew. Your mind wandered to worst case scenarios, wondering if you could be fired. Standing outside Alice’s office, you took one last deep breath before opening the door.
Three head’s whipped around: Alice’s, Mika’s, and an unfamiliar man in a suit. You stood there awkwardly for a second, half considering turning around and sprinting away, before taking the open seat next to Mika. Alice and the suited man stood behind her desk, making you feel like a kid getting in trouble with the principle.
“Y/n this is Steve, he works for Mika’s team’s legal team,” Alice explained. Your heart stopped. If the legal team was here, you must be in some deep shit. “We called both of you in today because someone by the name of Eric Holmes came in and told us some pretty troubling things.” You stole look at Mika, to see his reaction, but he was only staring blankly ahead.
“Ms. Y/L/N, Eric said he was your boyfriend and he told us that you told him your relationship with Mika was a publicity stunt. You’re aware that is in direct violation of the contract you signed, yes?” Steve questioned you. You stared wide-eyed, feeling like a deer in headlights. Eric was an asshole, but you couldn’t believe he was actually trying to destroy everything you worked for. You opened your mouth to respond, but your words got caught in your throat.
“It was me,” Mika answered for you. All eyes fell on him, yours being the most surprised. “I was helping y/n with her bags and Eric ambushed us at her apartment. If I hadn’t said anything, he would have gone nuts.”
“Are you sure about that? Because he told us specifically that it was y/n and that she told him the two of you slept together, which is a violation of both of your contracts,” Steve pressed on.
“Of course he would say that, he’s an asshole just trying to get his ex in trouble. The dude swung at me and pushed her, clearly he’s not trustworthy,” Mika replied.
“Then why are there pictures of you and y/n kissing?” Alice jumped in.
Mika shrugged casually. “I’ve kissed people during publicity relationships before. I thought I was supposed to. I misunderstood.” The two of them eyed him skeptically, then turned their attention to you.
“Is this true?” Steve asked. You looked at Mika, who nodded, telling you it was okay to go along with it.
“He’s right,” you agreed, “Eric’s crazy, he was probably just trying to hurt me.”
“You’re going to need to cut contact with him,” Steve instructed.
“That will not be a problem,” you replied, more than happy to never see him again.
“And the two of you are going to have to be more careful when you’re out on the last couple dates. No more kissing,” Steve continued.
“That definitely won’t be a problem,” Mika muttered. You kept a poker face as best as you could, trying to ignore how that stung. After a few more reminders of how we were supposed to behave, we were set free. Mika left without a word, but you caught up with him in the lobby.
“Mika wait,” you called after him, wanting a chance to explain yourself.
He sighed, reluctantly turning around. “What?”
You froze, suddenly feeling nervous in front of him. “I- uh I just wanted to thank you for- for saving my ass in there,” you stumbled.
“You’ve got a lot more to lose than I do,” Mika shrugged.
“Right, well I really appreciate that,” you replied awkwardly. He could have easily thrown you under the bus, but he didn’t.
“Sure,” Mika replied halfheartedly.
“About everything that happened yesterday, I’m so sorry, I didn’t-” Mika put his hand up, cutting you off.
“I’ve been thinking and you’re right y/n,” He began, “We’ve caused problems in each other’s lives. I was never the type to cheat, yet I knowingly slept with someone who had a boyfriend. I don’t want to be that person. Let’s just get through these last couple dates and then we can move on with our lives.”
His words weren’t necessarily mean, but they felt so harsh. So final. “Okay,” was all you could bring yourself to say. With that, Mika left and you were alone again. You sulked back to your apartment, ready to return to your moping.
As much as you wanted to do nothing, you decided you had to check your email, something you hadn’t done in a few days. Just because you personal life was going to shit didn’t mean your professional life had to. You scrolled through a bunch of spam when suddenly your heart stopped. You had an email from Gucci.
You clicked it immediately, finding an invitation to a casting call for their New York Fashion week show. You wanted to jump up and scream with joy. You’ve wanted to do something like that since you started modeling and you couldn’t believe you may actually have a chance.
For a second you wondered if you should even take it. Was it right to take an opportunity from Mika after everything that happened? Part of you felt bad, but you reasoned that you should get something good out of this mess. If you landed this, it could change your world. You weren’t about to let a stupid mistake get in the way.
A few days later you were walking towards the building where the Gucci casting call was taking place. You tried to calm your nerves with slow breaths, knowing Gucci wouldn’t be looking for someone who wasn’t confident. You walked into the waiting, surrounded by other beautiful girls. You sat in one of the only empty seats, getting yourself in the zone.
When your name was called, you took a final deep breath and got into your work mode. The creative director of the fashion show flipped through the photos you bought and complimented much of your work, boosting your confidence.
Now it was time for your walk. This was the scariest part. You were pretty confident in your runway walk abilities, but all it could take was a bump in the floor to throw you off. Nevertheless, you killed the walk and you felt like she was impressed.
The woman told you that in about a week or so she would be making calls about who was walking for the show. Although you wouldn’t know for sure, you felt like you left a really good impression and had a decent chance of getting a spot in the show. As you walked out of the building, you felt the best you did in a couple days. However, there was a cloud hanging over your joy. All you wanted to do was call Mika and tell him how well it went, but you couldn’t.
Whatever, you thought, you’re going to try the best to enjoy this little high you were on. You treated yourself to your favorite coffee drink, then picked up some cookie mix. By the time you got back to your apartment, you couldn’t wait to start baking and draw up a bath to relax in. However, Alice had other plans.
When you saw her name on your phone you considered ignoring it and pretending like you didn’t see it. However, after the shit that happened the other day, you weren’t trying to get yourself in more trouble.
Alice told you that tonight you had to go out to a fancy restaurant tonight. The exact opposite of what you wanted to do. Not that it mattered to her.
“Maybe tomorrow,” you said to the cookies, as you reluctantly put them away. You retreated to your room, now needing to get ready to spend a night with someone who barely wanted to look at you. Fun.
The only dress you felt was nice enough for the occasion was a silky black one you bought awhile back. It was one of those slinky dresses that seemed to just fall on your body and hit you in all the right places. Ironically, you purchased it with the intention of wearing it on an anniversary date with Eric, but that definitely wasn’t going to be happening. Nevertheless, it was a a sexy dress and shouldn’t to waste. If you didn’t feel good, you wanted to at least look good.
Fred’s ‘here’ text came way too soon. You braced yourself for an awkward car ride, but when you opened the door, Mika was not there.
“He wanted to go separately,” Fred explained noticing your confused expression.
“Oh,” was all you could manage, slumping down into your seat.
“I may be out of place for asking, but is everything alright with you and Mika? You seemed so happy the other day,” he questioned.
You sighed. “I messed up. I said something stupid and hurt him and now I’ve ruined everything.”
“Do you like him, y/n? I mean like do you really, really like him?” Fred asked.
“Yes,” you answered without having to think about it, “I do. But I don’t know if that matters now. After what I said I doubt he feels the same anymore.”
“Y/n, I’ve seen the way that boy looks at you. He’s head over heals crazy for you. The feelings behind that kind of look doesn’t go away over one stupid fight. If you like him like you say you do, you need to let him know. Love’s not easy, but it’s the most amazing thing when you get it right. And I think you and Mika could have something beautiful if you’re willing to fight for it,” Fred stated.
“Thank you Fred,” you replied, biting back tears, “I really needed to hear that.”
“Of course,” Fred replied, “I’ve driven a lot people around over the years. A lot of people who’ve said they’re in love, but don’t have anything between them. You and Mika have something special and I would hate to see that end.”
“I swear you’re more like a therapist than a driver,” you laughed, grateful you had someone to talk to.
“Just doing my job,” Fred smiled as he pulled up to the restaurant. “Now go in here and get your man.”
You flung your arms around Fred from the backseat, hugging him the best you could. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” you gushed, before hopping out of the car. You felt a million times more confident than you did before.
However, that didn’t last too terribly long. Seeing Mika, especially dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, took a bit over your nerve away. Nothing like an insanely attractive man to mess up for confidence.
“Hey,” you said quietly, taking a seat across from him.
“Hey,” Mika replied with no enthusiasm. You fell into an awkward silence. You tried to think in your head how you wanted to say this. Or if he would even let you say it. He cut you off when you tried to apologize the other day. Maybe he didn’t care and wouldn’t want to listen.
The waiter came and filled the silence. You and Mika both absentmindedly ordered something, clearly not very interested in food at the moment. And then the silence returned. It was crushing. You couldn’t stand it any longer so you decided it was now or never.
“Mika, I need to talk to you and I- I need you to just listen, okay?” you tried sounding confident, but you weren’t sure it was convincing.
“Okay,” Mika replied with a sigh. Here goes nothing.
“What happened with Eric,” you began trying to find the words, “What I said, it couldn’t be further from the truth. I was scared and upset and I let my stupid emotions speak for me. You haven’t made my life worse, you’ve made it so much better. I’ve only known you for a few weeks, but they’ve been some of the happiest I’ve had and I don’t want to lose that. I don’t want to lose you. If you really want nothing to do with me, then fine. I’ll go on the last date and never bother you again. But if you feel anything for me, let me show you I mean what I’m saying. Tell me there is something left fighting for, and I swear I will fight for you with everything I have in me.”
You were slightly breathless from all the words that just fell out of your mouth. You were proud of yourself for making it through he whole thing without crying, though. Mika looked at you with a face that was hard to read, and you wondered if you made a fool of yourself.
Suddenly, Mika’s hand slipped over yours. A small graced his face. “Of course there is something to fight for. There always will be with you.”
“Seriously? You meant it?” You couldn’t believe your ears.
“Absolutely,” He confirmed, “You’ve been under a crazy amount of stress, especially after Eric pushed you like that. I shouldn’t have let my anger get the best of me the way I did. I’m sorry I said those things and made you feel like I didn’t care about you.”
“Don’t apologize,” you shook your head, “I deserved that.”
“But you didn’t,” Mika replied, “I should have been more understanding to what you were going through. You had it a lot worse than me.”
“It’s okay, Mika. I just want to out that behind us,” you told him.
“I would be more than happy to leave that behind,” Mika agreed. “I just want to focus on a future with you.”
“Are they going to let us be together?” you asked nervously. As much as you and Mika wanted to be together, the contracts would always put that in jeopardy.
“Nothing they do is going to stop me from being with you,” Mika stated with certainty.
“What do you think they’ll do to us?” you asked, scared of what could happen. Would they really take everything from you? The lawyer Steve seemed pretty damn serious.
“Don’t worry about that now, love. We have each other right now and that’s what matters,” Mika assured you. He brought your hand to his lips, kissing it softly. You smiled knowing he was right. Everything else didn’t matter in that moment because for now, you were safe with him.

The Arrangement Part 5

Part 1  Part 2 Part 3  Part 4
Summary: You’re an aspiring model in NYC who is offered an opportunity of a lifetime - an arranged relationship with a famous Ranger. Things start out rough and are further complicated by the fact that you’re already in a relationship. Will you be able to figure thing out or will it all end in disaster? Word count:2,502
Warnings: light smut, physical altercation
The morning sun flooded the room, warming every inch of skin it hit. Your eyes fluttered open, finding two hazel ones staring dreamily at you. You smiled as the events of last night came back to you.
“Morning. love,” Mika greeted you softly, his voice thick with grogginess.
“Morning,” you replied, stretching lightly, “Enjoying the view?”
“Yes actually,” he smiled, “You’re quite beautiful when you sleep.” You blushed, turning into his bare chest. “And when you’re shy.”
“You’re cute when you’re complimenting me,” you joked, pressing his skin.
“Am I cute when I’m hungry? Because I’m starving,” Mika replied.
“Definitely still cute,” you confirmed, “Some food sounds really good right about now.”
“You like pancakes?” Mika asked, gently petting the top of your head.
“Who doesn’t?”
“Fair enough,” he laughed, getting up from bed. You admired his bare frame as he walked away. How was it that every single part of him was so beautiful? He slipped on a pair of boxers and a sweater, smirking when he caught you staring. “You rest here babe, I’ll bring you food when it’s ready,” Mika told you.
You laid in bed alone for a little while, savoring how peaceful you felt. However, you quickly started to miss Mika. The bed grew cold without him there, and you craved the warmth only he could provide. You pulled on a pair of underwear and the yellow sweater he was supposed to give you yesterday and then joined him in the kitchen. You snuck up behind him, wrapping your arms around his waist.
“Sorry, I couldn’t stay away,” you admitted, kissing his back.
“S’alright,” Mika replied, flipping a pancake, “I was getting a little lonely honestly.” You released him from your embrace, giving him room to flip the pancakes. You hopped up on the counter across from him, enjoying the view.
Mika turned around, faking an offended face. “You stole my look.”
“Right, because you invented the sweater underwear look,” you rolled your eyes.
Mika chuckled, “The most annoying part is you look better in that sweater than I do.” He walked over to you, sliding himself between your legs at the edge of the counter.
“Well I wouldn’t go that far,” you replied, wrapping you legs around him to pull him closer.
“If I wasn’t so hungry, I fuck you right here on the counter,” Mika purred, pressing a kiss to your neck.
“If I wasn’t so hungry, I’d let you,” you replied, pulling his face up to yours and nipping his bottom lip. “Um I think something is burning,” you said, seeing smoke over his shoulder.
“Shit,” Mika laughed, pulling himself away from you. He yanked the pan off the stove and tossed the blackened pancake into the garbage. Mika made a couple more pancakes before deciding it was enough for the two of you (although it looked like enough for a small army to you). He got out a plate for each of you and carried the towering stack of pancakes to the table on the porch outside.
The two of you ate more than your fair share of pancakes, surrounded by crisp, clear air. Once you were both stuffed, Mika nodded towards the jacuzzi. “Want to try that out?”
“Only if you don’t judge my food baby,” you joked rubbing your stomach.
“I would never,” he laughed, gathering up the empty plates. You returned to your respective rooms to change into bathing suits. You dug through your suitcase, glad you tossed in a swimsuit at the last minute. You pulled on your little red bikini, checking to make sure you looked good, before heading back out to the porch.
You found Mika fiddling with the knobs wearing none other than a red bathing suit. “Well would you look who’s the copy cat now,” you said. Mika whipped around, laughing as he saw you two wore the same color.
“I guess it was just meant to be,” He smiled, he pressed a button, making the entire tub bubble. Mika clapped, “Got it!” He extended his hand, helping you step into the warm tub. Mika settled in next to you, draping his arm over your shoulders.
“You think there are people out there taking our picture right now?” you asked, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Probably,” Mika sighed. You looked deep into the trees, trying to find any sign of life. You didn’t see anyone, yet you still felt like you were being watched.
“So weird,” you mumbled, shaking your head.
“Maybe we should give them a show?” Mika suggested with a cheeky smile. You were about to ask what he meant when his hand snaked down you boy, toying with the strings of your bikini.
“Mika!” you gasped, slapping his chest.
“What?” he smirked, “It’s underwater, they’ll never see.” He pulled on the string, causing your bottom to fall away. He gently rubbed over your center, making you squirm. “It’s kind of hot, no? The danger of getting caught at any moment,” he purred. You had to admit it, it was pretty freaking hot. You feel that familiar pleasurable ache of arousal already.
“If I have to risk it so do you,” you replied, reach your hand down, surprised to find his bathing suit was already down.
“Mine been off since we got in here, babe,” Mika smirked proudly.
“You were planning to do this, weren’t you?” you asked, laughing.
“You caught me,” Mika mused, slipping a finger into you making your mouth fall open. “Care now, love, gotta keep a straight face or they’ll know.” You snapped your mouth shut and nodded, definitely not wanting to get caught.
Mika pumped his finger, making the water pulsate around you. The new stimulation was making your pleasure build at faster rate. Before you got too caught up in your own pleasure, you wanted to give Mika a taste of his own medicine.
You wrapped your hand around his hard base sliding up and down his length. The drag from the water made it hard for you to move too fast, but Mika seemed to like the new sensation as much as you. His jaw tightened, trying as hard as possible to keep a straight face.
Mika moved his fingers to your clit, rubbing circles over the already sensitive area. You felt your orgasm mounting fast and you knew you wouldn’t be able to contain yourself. Just as your high hit, you slid underwater to conceal your face. Being submerged cut off all your other sense, making the pleasure you felt so much more intense.
When you finished, you came up gasping for air making Mika laugh. “Shut up,” you laughed, splashing him with water. It was time for him to know how it felt. Your tightened your grip on him making him hiss. You moved as quickly as the water allowed, building up his pleasure. You rubbed your thumb over his tip, making his hips twitch. Just as he was going to release, he grabbed your face, kissing you deeply to hide his orgasm.
You returned his kiss, happily finishing him off. Suddenly, it hit you that you weren’t supposed to be kissing in public. You jumped back, afraid it was already too late. “Shit, Mika, we aren’t supposed to kiss where our picture could be taken,” you said.
“Fuck the rules,” Mika replied, taking your face in his and kissing you again. This time you didn’t pull away. Maybe there would be repercussions, but you didn’t care. You wanted Mika and that was all that mattered.
When you finally pulled away you smiled, nuzzling against Mika’s shoulder. “Is it wrong that I don’t want to leave?” you asked, tracing random shapes over his skin.
Mika shook his head. “I would stay right here forever if I could.” The two of you stayed like that for awhile, just enjoying each others company. Eventually you returned inside, where the same activities ensued just under a blanket instead of in water.
Sunday came too soon. You found yourself packing up your stuff with a frown on your face. “S’alright love,” Mika whispered, wrapping his arms around your waist, “It’s not over for us.”
Fred pulled up right on time, helping you with your stuff. “Did you two kids have a nice weekend?” he asked as you and Mika settled into the back seat. The two of you exchanged a knowing smile.
“You could say that,” he replied. Fred smiled and pulled off as Mika wrapped his arm around you. You rested your head on his shoulder, trying to bite back tears. You don’t know why you suddenly became so sad. You felt like you were leaving behind your happiness. It was so simple in that cabin. Just you and Mika, nothing else mattered. But now you were returning to a world of rules, regulations, complications and… Eirc.
Shit Eric, you thought. As shitty as it sounds, you completely forgot about him this weekend. How the hell were you going to navigate this? You’ve been lying to him for weeks and now you’ve actually cheated on him. You felt like the worlds biggest asshole.
The decision between Mika and Eric should be easy, yet it wasn’t. Sure, Mika was amazing, but there was so much that came with being with him. You weren’t even sure if you were legally allowed to date him after all that paperwork you signed. And even if you were, all that media attention all time would be a lot. Eric, well, he at the very least was familiar. You were torn between what was easy and what you knew, and was amazing, but not certain.
“Here,” Fred announced as he pulled up to your apartment.
“Is everything alright?” Mika asked, noticing you were a little off.
“Yeah, just tired,” you lied. Mika nodded, giving you a kiss on the cheek before you exited the car. You grabbed your bags from the trunk, telling Fred you were okay to carry them up on your own.
When you swung open your door, furrowing your brows when you saw the light was on. You could have sworn turned it off before you left…unless…
“Welcome back,” Eric deadpanned from the living room, crumbled roses in his hand.
“Eric… I wasn’t expecting you here,” you said nervously. The TV was on and your heart sunk as you realized the photo of you and Mika kissing was on the screen. You also realized there were some beer cans laying around. Your eyes, darted back to Eric afraid of what he may do.
“You fucking lying bitch,” he spat, “I came here to welcome you back with flowers and this? This is what I fucking see! How could you fucking doing this to me?”
“I can explain, I swear!” you exclaimed, desperate to defuse the situation.
“Really? You’ve been saying that a lot these days, but it’s bull shit,” his words slurred slightly as he yelled at you.
“It’s a publicity relationship!” you admitted despite your better judgement. Eric looked at you confused. There was no going back now, so you explained, “I signed something that said I would go on fake dates with him a couple times. It was supposed to just get my name out there and boost my chances of getting bigger jobs.”
“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me? You just lied this entire time,” Eric questioned.
“I signed all this paperwork. They could sue me for everything I have if I tell anyone, including you,” you replied, “I’m sorry Eric, I- I know I should have told you but I was scared I would lose everything. I thought maybe my name would never get out and this would all go away, but I fucked up I’m sorry.”
“So- so this was fake? You never did anything with him?” Eric asked. Your mind flashed to Mika on top of you, sharing an intimate moment. You could lie, he’d never know, but you knew you had to come clean.
You took a deep breath. “I-I slept with him.”
“What!” Eric screamed.
“Hey, y/n, you left this in the - oh shit,” Mika walked through the door to your apartment, holding a hat of yours in his hand. He paused, looking at you wide eyed as he realized he just intruded on a fight.
“You piece of shit!” Eric screamed lunging at Mika. He manged to punch Mika in the face, though it didn’t seem to bother Mika too much. Hockey players are used that you supposed. You jumped up, trying to stop Eric, but he turned his anger on you. “You fucking lying slut!” He pushed you down with all his might, making you fall and hit your head on the coffee table. He went to go after you again, but Mika grabbed him, punching him so hard he fell to the floor. Some blood trickled from a cut on his cheek where one of Mika’s rings had hit him.
Mika rushed to your side. “Y/n are you okay? Are you bleeding?” He anxious checked your head for any sign of injury.
“I’m okay,” you insisted sitting up, though tears were stinging your eyes as you realized your world was falling apart.
Eric got up and spat, “Fuck both of you.” He rushed out the door, slamming it behind him.
“Come on, let me help you up,” Mika said grabbing your arm.
“I’m fine, just get off of me,” you snapped, yanking your arm away from him. So much was swirling around inside you right now. You had difficulty placing all the emotions, so it just came out as anger.
“Y/n, is everything alright?” Eric asked.
“Seriously? My boyfriend just found out I cheated on him and pushed me and you’re asking if I’m alright?” you asked.
“I- I don’t understand,” Mika stumbled, dumbfounded.
“Of course you don’t! Before you came into my life, everything was fine! My life was normal, but then you come along and everything got fucked up!” you yelled. Mika’s face cracked, pain evident in his normally sweet features.
“So it’s my fault Eric is a total asshole to you? Last time I checked you decided to sleep with me,” Mika fired back.
“You took advantage of me. You knew I was upset about Eric was vulnerable,” you shot back. You didn’t even know what you were saying, yet you couldn’t stop yourself. Your emotions were in overdrive, completely fucking up for sense.
“Is that really what you think of me?” Mika asked. You stared back it him unable to reply. You knew Mika wouldn’t do that, yet couldn’t bring yourself to speak. “I’ll take that as my answer,” Mika muttered when you didn’t answer, “Take some fucking accountability for once in your life. Thinking you were different was a fucking mistake, I can’t wait until I never have to see you again.” With that he left, slamming the door behind him.
Once you were alone you collapsed to the floor. Tears flooded your face as you felt your world falling apart.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4  Part 5  Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Summary:You’re an aspiring model in NYC who is offered an opportunity of a lifetime - an arranged relationship with a famous Ranger. Things start out rough and are further complicated by the fact you’re already in a relationship. Will you be able to figure things out or will it all end in disaster? Word Count:
Warning: none for this part! but this is the end!! thank you all for reading and being so patient I know I took f o r e v e r with this so I love y’all for sticking around! (also I think I got out all the Harrys this time if I missed one im sorry ignore it!!!)
Ring! Ring! Ring!
“Ugh,” Mika groaned as his cellphone pull him from his sleep. You frowned, trying to roll away from the noise, but it didn’t make a difference. You lifted your head, searching for the time. Finally, you found a clock, which read 7am. No wonder you still felt exhausted.
“Did they have to fucking call so early,” Mika grumbled, voice low and raspy. He reached for his phone on the nightstand, answering it right before it went to voicemail. “Hello?”
You were going to try to listen in, but then your phone started going off. Yup, you thought, we’ve been caught. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, you hoped as you grabbed your phone.
“Hi Alice,” you answered, trying to sound as innocent as possible.
“Y/n, you know why I am calling,” she stated, her voice flat and annoyed, “Get into the office. Now.” The line clicked off. Shit. This was not good.
You looked over at Mika, who was setting down his phone with a heavy sigh. “Looks like we’ve got a trip to make.” You nodded, trying to remain calm. You knew this was coming, of course, but it was still scary. Last night you had been on a high, feeling somewhat invincible. Now that you were actually going to have to face the repercussions of you actions you were feeling a lot less confident.
You slipped back into the outfit you wore last night, glad that it looked somewhat professional. Mika, on the other hand, seemed to care a bit less about how he looked. He jeans and an old band tee with a pair of Vans. He looked great of course - the man couldn’t look bad if he tried. But it wouldn’t have been the outfit you would have chosen for a meeting that could lead to you being fired.
“Ready?” Mika asked, standing by the door. You nodded, but it wasn’t very convincing, apparently. “Are you okay love?”
You shrugged. “I’m just scared.”
“Don’t worry, babe, I’m going to take care of us, okay?” Mika assured you, kissing your forehead softly. You nodded again, feeling slightly better, but still not 100% ready for this.
You and Mika decided to walk to the office, since it wasn’t that far and using another driver would feel like you were cheating on Fred. Plus, walking takes longer, so it gave you more time before whatever shit show was about in ensue. Mika held your hand tightly as you walked, and you were grateful for that. He made you feel stable even when everything else felt like such a mess.
Your modeling agency came into view, making the nerves in your stomach bubble. If Mika was nervous, he didn’t show it. You wished you could be as calm and collected as he was. As you walked through the glass doors of the building, you wondered how different your life could be when you walked out.
The elevator up took longer than ever. Each floor seemed to creep by painfully slow. Mika squeezed your hand as each passed, giving you the little boost you needed. As you walked to Alice’s office, you took slow breaths, trying to keep yourself calm.
Mika pulled Alice’s door open and you could instantly feel the tension. Alice and Steve stood behind her desk, both looking completely fed up. You felt like a kid getting in trouble again, only this time in stead of detention you were getting expelled.
“Sit,” Steve stated, clearly the more pissed of the two. Mika seemed to saunter over, confidence exuding from him. You followed after him more like a scared animal. “I’m sure the two of you know why you’re here.”
“Yup,” Mika stated simply.
“Are you aware of the serious repercussions for this stunt the two of you are pulling?” Steve demanded.
“Nope,” Mika yawned, stretching his arm around your shoulder, “But I bet you’re going to tell me.” Steve’s nostril’s flared, Mika’s blasé attitude pissing him off even more.
“You could lose your contract and you,” he turned to you, making you jump back a bit, “You will lose your modeling contract and be blacklisted. No one will hire you in this industry. Both of you are facing enormous lawsuits. Millions of dollars between the two of you.”
Your heart stopped. Millions? You didn’t even have thousands. That number didn’t even seem like it could be real to you. Not to mention you were getting blacklisted. Losing your contract would suck, but you could manage. If you were blacklisted there would be no hope. You’d be fucked.
You looked at Mika who was eerily calm. How could he not even be a little freaked out about this?
“You’re not going to do that,” Mika stated simply, as if he expected Steve to agree.
“Excuse me?” Steve shot back.
“You heard me, you’re not going to do that,” Mika repeated.
“Why the hell wouldn’t I? You both signed contracts and knew what would happen if you broke them,” Steve replied.
“You won’t because I’ve been speaking to a lot of my teammates,” Mika began, “and a lot them are pretty sick of you people trying to control our lives. If you try to push these consequences on me and y/n I’m telling every news outlet that will listen the shit you pull and all my teammates who have gone through this are going to do the same. Who knows what shit will come out after that. All of the company’s dirty laundry is going to be aired for the world to see, and we wouldn’t want that, would we?”
Steve grew more enraged with every passing word Mika spoke. You, on the other hand, stared at him in awe. If you thought you loved him before, you really did now.
“I’m going to call management,” Steve said through gritted teeth, dialing on his phone as he walked out. Alice stayed, standing awkwardly in the corner. It was her office, yet she seemed out of place. You looked at Mika, who gave you a confident wink.
The door swung open again, Steve stomping through. “What will it be, Steve?” Mika asked with excessive cheer to piss him off.
“As long as the two of you agree to not expose this as a publicity stunt, you’re free to go,” He replied, annoyance clear in his voice. Steve didn’t seem like a man who took defeat lightly.
Mika looked at you to see if that was okay and you were more than fine with it. You were never planning on telling anyone anyway, so this was the perfect resolution.
“Perfect,” Mika replied, “So glad we could come to an understanding.” The two of you signed off a paper agreeing you wouldn’t disclose this was ever set up, but could remain in a relationship without any consequences. As you lifted the pen from the paper you felt a wave of relief wash over you.
Steve collected the papers in his brief case, angrily making a beeline for the door. “Wait,” Mika called after him. Steve paused in the doorway, reluctantly turning back to face Mika, “All the times you asked if me and y/n had sex, I lied. We fucked a lot. Have a nice day!”
“Mika,” you half gasped, half laughed as Steve stormed away. Mika was one of the kindest people you knew, but he could be an asshole when he needed to. In a weird way it was really hot. If weren’t so happy this whole mess was over, you probably would be a bit more embarrassed by his comment.
“So are we good here?” Mika asked, turning to Alice.
“I’d actually like to talk to y/n alone for a moment,” Alice replied. Her tone was even, not telling you how she felt. You were nervous that maybe she would get rid of you anyway. You had been lying to her after all…
You nodded to Mika to tell him you were okay with that, even though you weren’t sure you had much of a choice. “I’ll wait for you in the lobby, love,” Mika said, kissing you on the cheek. Once you were alone, you held your breath, praying that you weren’t about to be yelled at or fired.
“I just wanted to apologize for this mess,” Alice said, to your surprise, “These things never really go that far, I never expect it to get this crazy.”
“It’s okay,” you replied, “I didn’t really follow the rules so it wouldn’t have been your fault.”
“Still,” Alice said, “I didn’t really believe in those crazy punishments, but it was out of my hands. Mika’s management was pulling all the strings. I’m sorry if you felt like I was working against you.”
“Believe me Alice, I know how crazy they can be. I don’t blame you, I’m just glad this all worked out,” you told me.
“Me too,” she smiled, “Wouldn’t want to lose one of my best models.” After that, the two of you said goodbye and you rushed down to the lobby to see Mika. You practically jumped in his arms, feeling so incredibly free.
“I take it that went well?” He guessed.
“Yup, she just wanted to apologize,” you told him.
“So we are in the clear?”
“We are perfect,” you smiled, giving him a peck on the lips.
“Let’s go out then, celebrate our freedom,” Mika suggested.
“What do you wanna do? Kind of weird now that we can actually pick what we want to do,” you replied.
“I’ve got an idea, but it’s kinda lame,” Mika admitted shyly.
“Tell me babe, I love you lame ideas,” you coaxed.
“Well, in a way, this is kind of our first real date. So what if we go full circle and have it at the coffee shop we met at,” Mika said.
“You’re right that’s lame, but also incredibly cute,” you teased, “I’ll go, but under one condition.”
“What’t that?”
“You don’t act like an asshole like you did on our first fake date,” you said.
Mika chuckled. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
His lips found yours once more, before slipping his hand in yours and leading you towards the door. As you walked, you reflected on these last few weeks. They were a whirlwind to say the very least. You never expected things to play out like they did, but you couldn’t be happier with how things ended up. There were definitely some bumps along the road, but each one of them were worth it.
As you walked out the doors, you couldn’t help but feel on top of the world. The man that you had fallen head over heels for was finally yours. No strings attached. You were sure there would be more challenges ahead, but you weren’t scared. With Mika by your side, you could do anything. You couldn’t wait to take on the world with him.

“I don’t want this night to end,” you sighed longingly as the waiter cleared your plates. You squeezed Mika’s hand, thinking for the millionth time that night how lucky you were. When you walked into the restaurant, you never expected Mika to forgive you. Even with Fred’s pep talk, part of you thought you totally blew everything, but Mika had happily proved you wrong.
“It doesn’t have to,” Mika replied with a mischievous smile.
“What have you got in mind, Mika?” you asked, brow raised. Whatever it was, you knew he was up to no good.
“Let’s spend the night together,” he suggested.
“Right, and we’ll be woken up by a giant lawsuit,” you sighed. Of course you wanted to stay they night with him. You wanted it more than anything right now, recalling how sweet it felt to wake up with him that weekend you spent together. But the fear of a lawsuit that could take everything from you was enough to make you resistant to the idea.
“They’ll never find out,” Mika replied confidently.
“All it takes is one photo and we are done for,” you reminded him. You were in a secluded cabin upstate anymore, you were in one of the most populated cities in the world.
“Didn’t you ever sneak out as a kid?” Mika asked, “It’s fun to break the rules. It makes everything else feel so much more exciting, because you know you shouldn’t be doing it.” Mika’s finger circled over the top of your hand, his pink bottom lip between his teeth. How could you say no to a face like that?
“Alright you’ve convinced me,” you laughed, “How are we going to do this?”
“Can we go back to your place? It would be risky to go back to mine. Too many paps,” Mika replied.
“Yeah of course,” you nodded. You silently cursed yourself, wishing you had picked up a bit more around your apartment. Oh well, you were sure the two of you would be more preoccupied with other things.
“Perfect, let’s go then,” Mika said, hopping up from the table.
“Right now?” you asked, thinking there would be more of a game plan. It seemed to simple, but then again you were notorious for over complicating things.
“Did you want to sit here all night?” he poked fun.
“Asshole,” you laughed, rolling your eyes as you stood up. Mika discretely slapped your ass, pulling a small yelp from your lips. You turned and playfully pushed him as he smiled smugly at you.
You and Mika slid into the backseat, escaping the assault of flashing lights. You and Fred shared a knowing smile. You mouthed another thank you to him as Mika shut the door.
“Back to your respective apartments?” Fred asked, pulling away from the curb.
“Actually, just back to hers,” Mika replied, his hand stroking your thigh.
“I know we’re not supposed to, so if you’re not comfortable taking us we can find another way,” you said. You didn’t want to put Fred in a situation that could jeopardize him. You imagined he was probably under a bunch of different contracts like the two of you were.
“I’m more than happy to help,” Fred replied, “I can take you home tomorrow morning Mika, if needed.”
“That would actually be great, thank you so much,” he replied.
“Are they going to notice you didn’t come back to the apartment?” you asked, nerves creeping back up on you. It wouldn’t be too hard for them to put 2 and 2 together if he never came home.
Mika shook his head. “I’ve got practice tomorrow at 8am, as long as I show up on time they shouldn’t question anything.” Mika gave your leg a reassuring squeeze. You kissed his cheek, the slight stubble on his cheek poking at your lips.
Fred brought you around to the back of your apartment, being as cautious as possible. You and Mika walked as quickly as you could without drawing attention to yourselves. Mika kept his head down as he slid into your building. The two of you raced up the stairs, giggling and nudging each other as you went.
You couldn’t get your door open quick enough. The second it was shut, Mika was on you. You pressed against the wall, your skin getting covered in kisses. “You just do something to me,” he mumbled, lips trailing up to yours.
You slid your hands around his neck pulling him closer to you. His lips were so soft and warm against yours. His tongue danced for dominance against yours, and you let him win, loving how his body surged with confidence when he won. His hands found your ass, squeezing it through the silky black material. He gripped your thigh, pulling it up so you could wrap your leg around him.
The position allowed him to grind further against you. You could feel the bulge under his suit growing and you were sure if he kept it up you would end up soaking right through the dress. You let out a soft moan as his hardness brushed against your clit.
“You look so fucking good in the dress love,” Mika groaned, looking you up and down, “But you’d look even better without it.” He rolled the strap between his fingers, pushing it of the curve of your shoulder. He repeated the action on the other side, placing a soft kiss on your shoulder and collar bones as he went.
He pulled on the fabric, biting his lip as it is slipped down the curves of your body. He liked that you weren’t wear a bra, leaving you just in a lacy black thong. He thumbed over you nipples, twisting and pulling as your desire burned inside you.
“I think you need less clothes,” you noted.
“Undress me then, babe,” Mika smirked. You stepped closer to him, pushing his suit jacket off. Mika chuckled as you fumbled the with the little buttons on his shirt. Eventually you got down to the bottom, dropping to your knees to work on his belt. You looked up at Mika innocently, batting your lashes as you pulled down his pants.
You gripped his thick base, watching as he sucking on his lower lip in anticipation. You licked up his hard length, before taking his tip between your lips, making him hiss. You took him as deep as you could, using your hand to pump at bit you couldn’t reach. You pressed your tongue against him as you bobbed your head, swirling as you reached the tip.
Mika’s face contorted, and you relished how his calm and collected demeanor cracked just a bit whenever you pleasured him. Mika’s fingers were knotted in your hair, pushing you deeper onto him. He hit the back of your throat, making you gag, your mouth constricting around him.
“Fucking hell,” he groaned, the feeling nearly making him release. “Wait, y/n I need you t’stop,” his barely managed to get those words out.
“Did I do something wrong?” you asked, looking up at him. A thin layer of sweat glistened on his forehead, his eyes dark and lusty. He cupped your chin, running his thumb over your lower lip.
“Not at all, you were s’good,” Mika assured you, “I just want to be inside you when I cum.” He took your hand in his, help you up. He kissed you deeply, grabbing your ass you could jump up onto him. You wrapped your legs around his waist, biting as his bottom lip.
Mika walked the two of you to you room, his erection bumping against you, making your arousal swell in your stomach. You needed him. And now. Mika dropped you on the bed, taking a second to admire you laid out for him.
“Mika come on I need you,” you whined, ready for some kind of relief.
“What do you want me to do to you honey?” he purred, “Want me to fuck you?” You nodded vigorously, each moment without him only making you ache more. “Gonna need to hear you  say it.” He hooked a finger through you underwear, sliding in slowly down your legs. The cool air on your heat made you shiver.
“I want you to fuck me Mika,” you replied, your voiced needy and desperate.
“Want or need?” Mika smirked, lazily running his finger over your wetness. Your back arched slightly, wanting to feel more.
“Need,” you exclaimed, “I need you so fucking bad. Please.” You didn’t care how whiny you sounded, you would do whatever you needed to have him right now. Mika chuckled, loving how worked up you got for him. As much as he would have loved to see you beg some more, he couldn’t ignore the fire burning in him any longer.
He teased your entrance a bit, coating himself in your arousal, before pressing into you. “So wet for me,” he said, his voice raspy and low. He rocked his hips against yours, slowly building up speed.
“Mika,” you gasped, his tip hitting that sweet spot deep inside you. You struggled to keep yourself, feeling your orgasm inching closer every second. Mika’s hand slid up your arm, lacing his fingers into yours.
“So good, you feel so good,” he mumbled, gripping your hand tightly.
“I’m gonna-” you voice cut out before you could finish, dissolving into a moan as you were enveloped in pleasure. You were completely lost in your bliss, tightening around Mika’s already sensitive cock.
“Fuck,” he groaned as his hips bucked out of rhythm, hitting his high. He let out low growls pumping every last bit of pleasure out that he could. He held your hand tightly as both of you came, a gesture that somehow made it more intimate.
“I love you,” Mika said suddenly as you both were coming down.
“What?” you breathed, thinking you may have hallucinated.
“I love you,” he repeated, “Is that crazy?”
“No, not at all,” you shook your head, pushing a lock of hair off his damp forehead, “I love you too, Mika.” Mika smiled a soft smile, that filled you with a comfort you couldn’t put into words.
“I’m so glad you came into my life,” Mika murmured, snuggling against you.
“Me too,” you replied, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead before drifting into a peaceful sleep.
In the morning you woke to an empty bed. You frowned, patting the spot next to you, forgetting for a second that Mika had to leave early. You sat up, wishing he had woken you so you could say goodbye. A paper on your bedside table caught your eye. You plucked it up, finding a note scrawled in Mika;s handwriting.
Sorry I didn’t wake you, you look too beautiful when you’re sleeping to disturb. Last night was amazing, I can’t wait to see you again. All my love, Mika.
You smiled, clutching the note to your chest, since it was the closest thing you had to him at the moment. As you got up to get ready for your day, you noticed you black dress hanging on the mirror in your room. You knew it had been Mika’s work. He was such a gem.
You went about your day, meeting with a few potential gigs - all which went really well. One woman even said she recognized you from TV and was extremely interested in working with you. You were on an absolute high. Everything was going right.
And then Alice called. You just got back to your apartment after long, albeit successful day. Your heart dropping, thinking they found out about Mika staying at your apartment. “What’s up, Alice?” you asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
“Hey, y/n,” Alice began, “Just wanted to tell you about your next date.”
You let out a sigh of relief. “Oh okay cool. When is it?”
“Tomorrow,” Alice told you. Your brows furrowed. That was odd, usually there were a couple days apart.
“That’s quick,” you replied, flopping down on your couch and kicking off your heels.
“Yes well in light of everything that has happened, Mika’s management team has decided to cut the relationship short. Tomorrow will be your last date with him,” Alie replied.
You felt like the air had been kicked out of your chest. Of course, you knew this day would be coming, but you thought you had at least a few more weeks before you would have to worry about this. How were you and Mika going to figure this out? You had no time to plan for how you would handle the days after your contract relationship ended.
“Oh alright,” was all you were able to reply. You were in a fog as Alice spoke, your mind racing as you tried to think of what you and Mika were going to do. The second she hung up you were calling Mika .
“Mika did you hear?” you asked right when he answered.
“Yeah this is bullshit,” Mika snapped, “I’m so sick and tired of being controlled.”
“What are we going to do? I thought we were going to have more time to figure this out,” you replied, anxiety getting the best of you.
“I don’t know,” Mika sighed, “But don’t freak out love, I’m going to figure it out.”
“I don’t want to lose you, Mika ,” your voice cracked as your mind went to worst case scenarios.
“You won’t baby,” Mika cooed, “Nothing is going to keep us apart, I promise.”

The Arrangement  Part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1
Summary: You’re an aspiring model in NYC who is offered an opportunity of a lifetime - an arranged relationship with a famous Ranger. Things start out rough and are further complicated by the fact you’re already in a relationship. Will you be able to figure things out or will it all end in disaster? Word count: 2,854
Warnings: none
You swung the door open to your apartment, fear sparking in you for a second as you saw a figure sitting on your couch. However, fear melted to relief as you realized it was just your boyfriend. You should be used to it by now, Eric had a key to your place (and you to his) so he was always popping by unannounced, but it still startled you every time you walked in on him.
“Hey baby,” Eric greeted you.
“You have no idea how happy I am to see you,” you sighed, shutting the door behind you.
“Rough workday?” he guessed.
“You could say that,” you sighed, slumping down on the couch next to him.
“What could be so rough about modeling? The camera flash hurt your eyes?” Eric teased. You rolled your eyes. It wasn’t the first time Eric made a jab about your job. In fact, it was the biggest point of contention in your relationship. Eric didn’t think modeling was a real career. He always said that in a couple years you’ll be too old for it and that only skill I’ll have to show for it in the “real job market” is the ability to smile in front of a camera.
Of course, that irritated you to no end. He didn’t know the first thing about what it takes to model, and he didn’t care enough to learn about it even if it was what you loved. Normally you would call him out on it, but you were not in the mood for a fight today.
“No, I just had to deal with someone who was a total jerk,” you told him. You scowled, thinking about the interaction all over again.
“I’m sorry baby, you don’t deserve that,” Eric said wrapping his arm around you, “How about I order us some pizza to make up for it?”
“You read my mind,” you smiled, giving him a peck on the lips.
A little while later you were on cuddled on the couch with him, pajamas on and pizza in hand. You had almost forgot about your shitty day. You were mindlessly flipping through your phone with your free hand, when suddenly Eric started hitting your shoulder.
“Babe, is- is that you?” Eric asked, flipping his phone to you. You looked up, shocked to find images of yourself on the screen.
It looked like a little blurb from a sports blog, one that reported on players private lives. There were a few pictures of you out with Mika, which a caption about a mystery woman that seemed really into him.
You nearly laughed out loud at the caption. The picture did make it seem like you were having a good time, though. Maybe you should take up acting, you thought sarcastically.
There were a few blurry ones through the window of the cafe of both of smiling (though you thought you may having calling him an asshole in that moment), and then a couple of you leaving and him following after. You had been in such a huff, you hadn’t even notice people taking pictures of you.
“Uh… yeah,” you admitted, not knowing what else to say. You knew he was going to find out eventually, but you didn’t think it was going to be this soon.
“You want to tell me what’s going on there?” he asked, irritation clear in his voice.
“I, um, I have an opportunity to work on a project with him. I have to do some private interviews with him, he wants to pick the model to work with. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you babe, you know how it is with the famous people, they try to keep everything so secretive. I had to sign papers and everything. I don’t even know exactly what I’m interviewing for,” you lied. You were proud of yourself so making it up so quickly. But also felt bad that you were lying so easily.
“You can’t even tell your boyfriend you’re going to be working with one of the biggest sports stars in New York?” Eric questioned. You could sense his jealous side was coming out.
“It’s a bunch of crazy paperwork,” you tried to explain, “It’s like when if you worked on a movie you wouldn’t be allowed to talk about anything you filmed until it’s released. Believe me, I wish I could talk about it. Truth be told, he’s the asshole I had to deal with today, but I signed something that said I’m not allowed to talk badly about him.”
Eric scoffed. “So you he can be a total douche to you and then you can’t even talk about it or you’ll get sued? What a piece of shit.”
“Seriously,” you agreed, glad he was focusing on that, rather than the fact you hadn’t told him about it, “Must have the world’s most fragile ego.” You rolled your eyes just thinking of him.
“Do you have to see him again?” Eric asked.
“Probably,” you replied cautiously, “I think there are a few rounds to the interview.” It wasn’t a total lie.
“Why do you even want to work with a guy who’s such an asshole?”
“I don’t want to, but it would be good for my career. He’s got lots of connections, anything with him could give me great exposure. It could launch my career,” you told him, repeating what Alice told you. The words felt bitter in your mouth - you hated having to say Mika would be an important part of your career - however you knew it would be the easiest thing for Eric to understand.
“Yeah I guess so,” he sighed, still seeming a bit uncertain.
“Don’t worry about it babe, I want nothing to do with him. I’ve only got eyes for you,” you assured. You cupped his face, pulling him in for a kiss.
Eric smiled as you pulled away. “Well if he’s a jerk to you again, I could beat him up for you.”
You giggled, “I may just have to take you up on that.”
A few days later you were milling around your apartment trying to clean things up when there was a knock at your door. You thought it was Eric stopping by on his lunch hour, but you were met by a stranger.
“Uh hi,” you said, unable to hide the confusion in your voice. You raised your eye brows, noticing the man had a large bouquet of peonies in his hand.
“Are you y/n?” he asked, reading from the card attached to the flowers.
“That’s me.”
“These are for you,” he stated, handing you the flowers and walking off before you could ask who sent them. You shut the door, breathing in the sweet, fresh scent of the blush colored flowers - which happened to be your favorite.
You set them down on your table, pulling the little card out of the envelope attached to the bouquet by white ribbon. In big, loopy cursive read, “Sorry for being an asshole - Mika.”
You let out a laugh, tossing the card down on the table. Did he really thing a few flowers would make up for how he acted? You thought about throwing the flowers away for a second, but decided it would be a shame to waste such a beautiful bouquet. After all, the flowers weren’t the ones who were assholes.
A few moments later your phone rang and you groaned when you realized it was Alice. To your dismay, she told you you had another “date” with Mika today. Your date would consist of an hour walking around Central Park. Lovely. Maybe you could throw yourself in front of a hot dog cart and put yourself out of your misery, you thought to yourself.
Alice told to you to dress incognito, so you opted for jeans, a sweatshirt, and a large pair of sunglasses. At least maybe you had a chance of not being noticed today.
A text from Fred informed you that it was time to go. You trudged down the stairs, mentally preparing yourself for an annoying hour. When you slid into the back seat of the Escalade you gasped, not expecting another person to be there.
It was none other than Mika himself. Great.
“Hi,” he said with a soft smile. The set of balls on this one, you thought.
“So you always send girls flowers when you’re a dick or?” you questioned him. You could of sworn you heard Fred let out a small snicker as he drove.
“Believe it or not, I’m usually not an asshole,” Mika replied.
“Ha!” you scoffed. “Could have fooled me.”
“You’re right,” he nodded, “I’ve given you no reason to think anything else of me, and for that I am really sorry.”
“Why’d you do it then?” you asked, not letting him get off that easy.
“Well, this isn’t my first time doing something like this,” Mika began, “Usually the girls I’m arranged with are just using me for fame, going after my money, trying to sleep with me, or a combination of all three. I’m constantly being used and I hate it. I thought if I put a wall up right away I could avoid it, but when you said what you did, I realized you weren’t using me like everyone else. And that I was being nasty to you for no reason.”
You nodded, understanding why he acted how he did. You hated doing this once, you couldn’t imagine having to do it multiple times. Especially if you were constantly dealing with people who were just trying to get something from you.
“It’s alright, I forgive you,” you told him, “This is a shitty thing to always have to be doing.”
“You could say that again,” he sighed, pulling the grey beanie on his head further down to cover his dark hair.
“Here,” Fred announced. Mika put on a dark pair of sunglasses before pushing open the car door. He held it for you, allowing you to slide out.
“See ya in an hour Fred,” you said, before shutting the door behind you. The two of you walked towards the entrance of the park, making sure not to stand too close together, as you were still in the no touching phase.
“So why did you agree to do this, if you don’t mind me asking. You don’t seem like the kind of girl who does things she doesn’t want to,” Mika said, his hands resting comfortably in his pockets as he walked.
“I wasn’t going to. I told my agent no initially,” you explained, “No offense, but I don’t like the whole idea of using a guy to get myself recognition. If I am successful. I want it to be from my own hard work and nothing else.”
“I completely respect that,” Mika nodded.
“Unfortunately, my agent had different ideas. She told me I could say no, but that people who say no to her don’t last long in the agency. So basically it was do something I don’t wanna do, or lose my job altogether,” you told him.
“I’m sorry, that’s really shitty,” Mika sympathized.
“Well at least I’m not dealing with a total asshole anymore,” you teased, “I honestly don’t know how I would have made it through this if you were like that every time we met.”
“Honestly I don’t think I would either. I don’t like feeling mean like that,” Mika replied, “I never asked, did you like the flowers?”
“Loved them,” you replied, “Peonies are my favorite. My boyfriend always insists on getting roses, which I have to pretend to be excited about… That sounds pretty spoiled, doesn’t it?”
Mika chuckled and shook his head. “You’re a woman who knows what she wants, nothing wrong with that.” You smiled, glad he understand you weren’t an ungrateful brat.
The two of you walked in silence for a little bit before Mika spoke again. “How’d you get into modeling?”
“Well, it started when I was young. I was obsessed with America’s Next Top Model. I would watch it religiously and try to practice along with them. I would even steal my moms heels and practice my runway walk up and down the halls of our house,” you laughed, recalling how you tripped and clunked around in the shoes that were far to big for you.
Mika joined in your laughter, “I would have liked to see that.”
“Oh no you wouldn’t, I was an absolute mess,” you told him, before going on, “As I got older, I started getting more serious about it. Going out on nights and weekends to get jobs. I fell in love with it, I always thought photography was an art form and with modeling I got to be a part of that art… Maybe that’s kind of silly.” You blushed despite yourself. You never really talked about modeling with anyone, because no one ever really seemed to care.
“No, not at all, you’re completely right,” Mika agreed, “You’re an artist.”
“Well I wouldn’t go that far,” you replied.
“I’m serious,” Mika replied, “People don’t realize how hard it is. Not just anyone can get in front of a camera and produce the right emotions for a great picture. It’s really beautiful, actually.”
“I’m glad someone thinks so,” you mumbled, wishing Eric thought as highly of modeling as Mika did.
“Do the people in your life not support it?” Mika asked.
“You could say that again,” you huffed, “Eric - my boyfriend - he thinks it’s stupid and a waste of time. He always says it’s a dead end job and I’ll eventually have to stop because of my age and then I’ll have nothing to show for the years I spent trying to live out a fantasy - his words not mine.”
“That’s terrible,” Mika scowled.
You shrugged. “It’s whatever. He’s great with everything else, I just wish he cared about what means so much to me, or could at least pretend to care.”
“It’s unfortunate he doesn’t, he’s missing out,” Mika stated. You nodded and the two of you fell into silence again as you walked. You were supposed to look happy, for any potential pictures being taken, but thinking about Eric’s lack of support for your choices always put you in a mood.
As you walked, you approached a stand selling snacks and the smell of fresh popcorn filled the air. You suddenly realized you were hungry.
“That smells great, doesn’t it?” you asked, changing the subject.
“It does, I think we should see if it tastes as good as it smell,” Mika replied, stopping to get online.
“Should we get one to share, or one for each of us?” you asked. Snacks weren’t discussed on the phone call briefing.
“They’d probably say one for each of us, which is why I’m only getting us one to share,” Mika smirked.
“Oh what a rebel,” you teased, “I may have to tell on you.”
“Won’t have to,” Mika replied, stepping forward as the line moved, “They’ve got people watching us.”
“Seriously?”
“Yup,” Mika replied. He paused turning to the vendor to ask for a large popcorn before continuing, “Don’t bother trying to figure out who it is. They’ll look like anyone else, but they’re hired by my management to make sure we are following the rules.”
Despite saying not to bother, you looked around at the people in the area - there were people walking dogs, children playing, couples walking, and elderly man reading the paper. Suddenly the all seemed suspicious. “Creepy,” you shuttered.
Mika shrugged, taking the popcorn and handing the guy a twenty, telling him to keep the change. “You get used to it.”
You scooped up a handful of popcorn, savoring the warm buttery flavor. “You know, usually I’d offer to pay for half - equality and shit - but considering one of us makes millions, I think it’s okay to let you take the hit for the popcorn,” you joked.
“Just when I was believing you weren’t after me for my money,” Mika smirked, tossing some popcorn into his mouth. You rolled your eyes and laughed, chucking some kernels in his direction.
For the rest of the time with Mika, you had to admit you actually had some fun. You were surprised you managed to walk around with one of the biggest sports player in New York and only be stopped once. The observant fan was nice, though she eyed you suspiciously. She didn’t ask for your name, and for that you were glad. You hoped you could remain Mika’s nameless fling for as long as possible, to keep your personal life as uncomplicated as possible.
When your date ended, you felt much different than you did the first time around. You never would have expected to enjoy spending an hour with Mika Zibanejad, yet here you were laughing in the backseat as Fred took the both of you back to your respective homes. As you said goodbye to Mika part of you, a small part that you chose to ignore, was looking forward to seeing him again.

Feelings Mutual
Tumblr media
Summary: you and Mika hit it off after meeting through a mutual friend (Joe Santagato as requested) Word Count:1,042
Requested - this is like a combo of three different requests I have. it’s a lil short but would have been too long for just a blurb don’t clock me
Warnings: drinking mentions, but very minimal
“Who else is coming?” you asked your best friend Joe as you hopped out of an Uber. You hadn’t been out with him in a while, having been bogged down with work for a few months now. You have turned down numerous invites out, but this time he quite literally dragged you out of the house.
“What? Can’t bear the idea of just spending time with me?” he teased as you walked to the club.
You rolled your eyes, “What? I can’t ask questions?” You gave him a playful push before getting inside.
“Touche. But Mika is coming. You guys have met already right?” Joe asked.
“No not yet,” you shook your head. You felt like you’ve met him, though, since Joe talked about him all the time. And you’ve seen him from the few Rangers games you’ve gone to with Joe, but never formally met.
“Shit I thought I introduced you guys before,” Joe frowned, “Oh well, Mika’s super cool. You guys will get along.” You nodded, not really worried about it. You knew Joe long enough now to trust his judgement with friends. Plus the little that you did know about Mika was positive, so you were sure he was gonna be a nice guy.
The club was relatively empty for Friday evening, but you didn’t really mind. You liked being able to walk without being jostled between people. It also made it a lot easier for Joe to find his friend, who was hanging out at an empty table by the bar.
“Hey! Mika!” Joe greeted his friend brightly. Mika jumped up pulling in Joe for a hug. You got a good look at his face and whoa you did not remember him being so cute. You shifted on your feet, suddenly wishing you had worn something a little nicer.
“This must be y/n?” Mika turned to you. His voice was soft and sweet, making you smile like an idiot.
“Yes, that’s me,” you replied, shaking his hand. “It’s nice to finally meet you. Joe has told me a lot about you. It’s like he’s got a crush on you or something.”
Mika chuckled, “That true Joe? You really like me?”
“You wish,” Joe rolled his eyes, “I don’t talk about him that much.” He narrowed his eyes at you, but it was all in good fun.
“Yeah he just lets the shrine do the talking,” you teased. The sound of Mika’s laugh made your heart flutter.
“Oh whatever,” Joe huffed, “You two can make your jokes, I’m going to go talk to go talk to I actually have a crush on.” He motioned to a pretty brunette across the room, before leaving you with Mika.
“Has he always been like that?” Mika asked as you both watched him make his move.
“Oh yeah.” you laughed, “Worse in high school.”
“God I can only imagine,” Mika chuckled, “Have the two of you ever...” He trailed off, but you knew what he was alluding. Most people wondered if the two of you ever dated.
“Oh, no,” you shook your head quickly, “Love him to death, but hard no. We are just friends.”
“Good to know,” he flashed a soft smile, making your heart skip a beat. “Do I bother telling you about myself or has Joe beaten me to the punch?”
“How about I just act surprised?”
“Deal.”
When Mika spoke to you, it was like you were the only two people in the room. The way he looked at you made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The two of you subconsciously moved closer together as you talked. It was so effortless, like you’d known him for years.
“Totally just got her- what’s going on here?” Joe’s voice cut through your’s and Mika’s bubble. It was then you realized just how close you’d gotten - your faces just a few inches a part and his hand resting on your thigh.
“We’re just talking,” you answered quickly as both shuffled back.
“Are you guys into each other?” Joe half asked half laughed. You were both silent, your faces flushing. “Oh my god you are!”
“Shut up Joe,” you snapped.
“This is beautiful,” he gushed, clearly a little tipsy, “My two best friends... Wait shit I’m ruining the moment aren’t I?”
“Absolutely,” Mika answered.
“Okay, okay I can take a hint,” he replied, backing up, “Just act like I was never here... but I want credit for this when you guys get together.”
“Goodbye Joe,” Mika said firmly, finally getting him away.
“God he’s such an idiot,” you rolled your eyes.
“And yet we both keep him around,” Mika replied.
“Maybe we’re  the idiots,” you joked.
Mika chuckled, “We just might be... But he wasn’t wrong. I know we just met, but I’d love to take you out sometime.”
“I’d like that,” you smiled, “Especially without Joe watching over your shoulder.” You motioned to your friend who was very much spying. He flashed both of you a thumbs up when he was caught, making you both giggle.
Just a week later, you were on a date with Mika and they quickly became a weekly occurrence. The only person more excited about it than you two was Joe. He cheered out loud when you guys told him you were officially dating. He never let you guys forget it was him who set you up.
“That’s y/n and Mika and yes I set them up,” was something the two of you heard a lot. It was sweet, though, and you were happy he was so happy about the two of you together. Even if that did mean you had deal with him third wheeling occasionally.
Mika was an amazing boyfriend too. He always made time for you, even with his crazy busy schedule. When he couldn’t be there, he always made sure you knew he was thinking about you - flowers, cards, and other little gifts were always showing up at your door when he was away. You never had to wonder if he was thinking about you.
You knew it was early, but you really liked him. Being with him felt right, like coming home. You were excited about your future - on you knew Mika would always be a part of.
