can i just say i lowkey get a little cranky when people side w mike over will in fanfics ESPECIALLY this one even tho that seems to be the consensus (mike in the right will in the wrong). like maybe it’s my will bias but like??? what dude he do wrong there??? mike was intentionally pissing him off?? will dropped a tray in his lap which COULD HAVE BEEN an accident (not saying it was but like, it could have looked like that especially since he was tired) and mike reacted to it. and mike just immediately threw food right back at him and the. will even had the thought process to not throw food back but he did because mike literally threw it at his face like i would have done the same?? and nobody getting onto mike thinking “now mike think ab how that will make u look to stoop down” they all looking at will???????? personally, i woulda done it too ✌️ i’m on wills side fs and i knowwwww i’m an outlier, literally breaks my heart 😭

ah hello! thanks for this ask and for being so invested in the fic!!! it really does mean so so much to us that you (and so many others) have put so much time (and frustration LOL) into these silly boys ad their rivalry/friendship/idk what to call it :)))

here are my Thoughts since you brought up people choosing sides! the fun thing about acswy is that it's a dual pov fic. so every other chapter, we're getting will's perspective, then mike's perspective, and back and forth for the whole story. so, i think something that's SO important to remember about that is that they're both unreliable narrators. every chapter that thea, suni, and i write, we try to dive into the headspace of will and mike and attempt to wrestle with the tension and frustration they both feel from the years they've spent running around in circles.

they've both been in the right; they've both been in the wrong. so from our perspective at least, as we continue to write this and share camp byler's story with you, we hope everybody keeps an open mind that picking one person's side or the other isn't our goal here!

Poly party summer fun headcanons bc 😄 (I'm sorry I'm advance that this is so fucking long please forgive me) (you can find part 2 here)

Part 1

Pool party:

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

- El learns the usage of the word "hot" (regarding attractiveness, not temperature) when she sees Max in a two-piece swimsuit

But then Mike is like "what about me?" cos he's totally jealous and wants El's attention too, but before she can respond Max is like "you're not hot, Mike, you're more like cute in a nerdy kind of way. I guess." and El is like "yeah, you're a cute nerd!" and Mike is like "ex-fucking-cuse me??"

And then Will is like "I think you're hot" and Mike is like "thank you-"

"but you're still a nerd"

"you're a nerd!" and he grabs Will and kind of traps him in this hug and says "but you're a cute nerd" and then a cute kiss

And El is giggling at byler but still staring at Max too, and Max is yelling Byler to get a room, and Lucas is just rolling his eyes at everyone but he also keeps getting distracted looking at Max, and Dustin is yelling at everyone

"for the love of god, can you guys stop flirting for like two minutes and help me set up the snacks??"

And Suzie is like "I'll help you, Dusty-bun"

"you're the best girlfriend in the whole world"

*giggles* "you're the best boyfriend in the whole galaxy!"

And then everyone is just like "okay okay, we're coming!" and "we're helping, geez!"

- Max totally helped El shop for and pick out her swimsuit, something that would show off her cute bod and drive Mike crazy (but also herself), and "damn girl, you have no idea how good you look" *wink*

- Lucas pushes Max in the pool

- Max obvsly gets revenger by pushing Lucas in the pool, while he's in the middle of doing something else like conversing, idk

- El wants to get in on the pool-pushing action, so she tries to push mike in the pool, but he grabs hold of her and they both fall in

- Underwater kisses! (with all the ships)

- mad flirting and lots of staring, lol (also with all the ships)

- El and Max sunbathing next to Suzie but they are on towels on the grass instead of a chair bc how are they supposed to get all close to each other on a single chair ??

- sunbathing girls ogling the boys in the pool

- boys in the pool ogling the sunbathing girls

- squirt guns, water balloons, and fights with pool noodles

- Suzie likes to sunbathe and read fantasy novels (she's totally a girly-girl nerd) and Dustin likes to just stop and watch her sometimes bc she's beautiful and also cute and hot, and sometimes she'll catch him watching from the pool or across the yard and they'll smile at each other.

And then she'll say something super cheesy like "I miss you, Dusty-bun" cos technically they are apart from each other. And he starts to say that he misses her too, but then Max/Lucas are like "jesuschrist, you guys are LITERALLY 20 feet away from each other!" and Dustin is just like "hey, I put up with all of your cute couple-y shit!"

- El wants to know what Suzie is reading and Suzie starts telling her the story in great detail (cos she's totally read the book before, it's one of her favorites? WHAT BOOK DO YOU GUYS THINK IT IS, LET ME KNOW) and then she recommends more books for El

- El totally takes control of the big inflatable pool floatie shaped like a duck or a unicorn or idfk

- Mike and Will try to push the floatie over but she clings to it, screaming, and even tho they manage to overturn her she still comes out on top and splashes them to make them stop

- Max helping El defend against the boys by jumping on some backs lol (more like grabbing and hoisting bc it’s hard to jump when in water)

- Max then trying to join El by jumping on the floatie (from the side of the pool), but she just ends up sinking them both

- El also tries doing those mermaid hair flips and just generally her and max doing funny things with both their hair (El wants to be a mermaid)

- pool volleyball, anyone? Or maybe pool basketball??

- Joyce is there to bring them lemonade and the burgers that Jonathan makes and other summer foods bc she is mom of the goddamn century

- chicken fights (top/bottom) (lmk who you think would win, lol)

Taunts and "insults" are slung, but also cheers, lol

Everyone falls down more often from loss of balance than actual pushing

- "no running around the goddamn pool, or you little shits will face some serious consequences!" (lol sorry I had to put Steve in there, but he's really not threatening at all 😆)

- Marco Polo (and El is totally not allowed to cheat by using her powers) (but even without cheating she's still pretty good, lol)

- sneaking up behind and dunking

- El wearing goggles and just being able to actually look and SEE underwater and it's so cool and beautiful, "but it makes everything sound weird"

- splash fights, and usually more than half the party ends up turning on one or two specific people

- the boys try to do that thing where you dive through inflatable donuts and it basically becomes a contest

Will can successfully dive through one donut, it's mostly just luck tho

"okay, you can dive thru one donut, but can you dive thru two??" (Mike kind of succeeds but he somehow gets his foot stuck and kicks the donut off)

"okay, but can dive thru three???"

And Dustin is like "come on guys, this is getting insane" but he sees the donuts getting stacked and everyone lining up and he's just like *sigh* "goddamnit" cos he knows he has to do it now too, he's not backing down!

El doesn't dive but she successfully pencil jumps thru at least one donut

Max dives thru two-and-a-half donuts (don't even ask me how) and it's not all three, but it's more than any of the boys can do so she totally wins the contest

- when it starts getting late, before everyone goes inside, Joyce takes some photos of all of them while the sun is still out (until Will jokingly begs her to stop), some smiling ones, some silly face ones, and a couple candid ones (Jonathan takes most of the photos tho cos duh)

IM SO GLAD U ASKED this game is probsbly my favorite game ever its been a special interest if mine since i was 7 and i dont think its a GOOD game per se bt i love it a lot and it impacted me a lot as a little kid w a mild interest in art :)

so basically the game is a little 2d adventure platformer where u get to draw and design the character u play as. its p clunky and the way ur character moves looks rlly silly bt again this game was released in like 2010 on the ds so its ok .. the game also gave u templates to go off of and use too just in case u didnt want to design a character from scratch

the story of the first game is abt this world that was drawn into existence by “the creator” in the book of life. u hav this little sequence where u get to draw the world, and the forrests and the creatures tht wld inhabit it. the creatures tht inhabit the world are callec raposa and they r little fox creature w funny ears :)

like this guy (his name is zsasha and hes a thief but hes like a bad one who ends up returning all of the stuff he steals and also watching over a little orphan girl who he basically adopts LOL)

in the universe if the game the “creator” eventually went silent and the raposa lost hope in them ever returning. the world was slowly shrouded in darkness and gradually all of the raposa inhabiting this little village were either lost or left on purpose bc it was slowly falling apart. the game starts when one of the remaining raposa, mari, prays to u, the creator, to come back and help restore her village, saying that everyone else has lost hope but she still believes you can return to her. u can answer, and either say that u will help or you wont, but either way u end up agreeing to help her and she goes to tell her dad, the mayor, abt it. you create a “hero” to be the vessel you will speak thru, and thats the character u end up designing and playing as. the game is abt going to various areas from the village and rescuing all of the raposa that are lost there, as well as restoring the village to what it used to be and drawing in bits of the landscape, like the sun and plants and stuff.

the villain of the story is a guy named wilfre, who was another villager in the town who ended up drawing in the book of life bc he wanted to create things the way the creator had. he ended up making these big inky monsters and got consumed by them, and when u meet him at the beginning of the game he tears up a bunch of pages in the book of life which get scattered across the land and you have to collect them in order to restore the village.

so u basically just go around saving villagers, collecting pages of the book of life, and redrawing bits of the town that were lost to wilfres shadows. eventually wilfre ends up like, killing maris dad (the mayor) and then after youve restored a majority of the village you enter his realm and kill him!! yay :)

throughout the game you also meet these two weird npcs called heather and mike. heather is a little raposa girl who has half of her face covered in shadows, and shes mostly mute. shes found early on in the game and is taken care of by another one of the main characters named jowee

mike is a character u end up rescuing later on in the game, hes p confused and doesnt know how he got where he is, and hes also different from the other raposa bc he doesnt have ears like they do and kind of just looks like a normal human (even tho none of the raposa know what that is and they just think he looks rlly weird)

in the first game heather is shown to take a liking to mike but it isnt explained why and she doesnt talk to its left unexplained

so yah the first game ends with you, the hero, defeating wilfre. mari takes on the role of her father and becomes mayor of the town, and all of the raposa (+ mike) live happily in the town youve restored. the hero goes dormant because theyre no longer needed and u get a scene at the end of the game w them sitting by the ghost of maris father.

the SECOND game takes place a while after the first game, in which wilfre returns and captures heather at the beginning of the game. he also kidnaps a bunch of the other villagers and transports them somewhere else, and he drains the color out of the village the raposa were in. they end up fleeing on a giant turtle with an abandoned town on its back that appears while the color is draining from the village. inside mari and jowee find another mannequin similar to the one the creator had drawn the hero on in the first game. they pray to the creator for help and thats when u draw the hero u get to play as for that game!! the hero doesnt seem to remember mari and jowee or any of the events of the first game, but they agree to help them rescue heather and all of the villagers wilfre stole.

jowee also has like, this magic pendant that belonged to heather that he found after wilfre took her, which seems to be leading them to where heather is. they use that to navigate the turtle thru the ocean to a bunch of other islands on the world. the second game is basically about traveling to different islands and helping them restore the color thats been drained out of them by wilfre. you also meet these two characters, salem

who is a villain in the first island u travel to, and sock

who is a villager on the first island u visit who ends up befriending jowee and traveling with them while they try to save heather.

so ur doing all of that but THEN, halfway thru the game mari is shown to be talking to wilfre, and then she dissapears. jowee assumes wilfre has captured her too, but shes later seen on the turtle again, and rips out a bunch of pages in the book of life the way wilfre did in the first game, and then wilfre appears to take her away and says that shes working with him now. jowee is heartbroken but resolves to get her back as well as heather

THEN, sock, jowees friend from the first island whos been tagging along and helping out, is ALSO revealed to be wilfre in disguise and he betrays jowee and steals heathers pendent, leaving jowee with basically no means of finding heather and wikfre and mari by extension.

so eventually they do end up finding where wilfre is and mari is like “jowee you dont understand wilfre has shown me the truth of our world and who the creator is and thats why im helping him” and jowee is like “i cant believe yoy are helping him how could you i cant believe you bla bla bla” and so wilfre is like “FINE ill show you the TRUTH of this world” and takes jowee and then the hero is kind of left ln their own for a bit to like wander around the world and try to keep rescuing ppl and such. and eventually jowee comes back and is like shaken up but kind of vague abt what wilfre showed him, but he still decides to side with the hero and the creator and eventually mari is convinced by him to join them again as well

so u fight wilfre again and EVENTUALLY wilfre reveals that if you defeat him basically the entire world will dissapear and thats what hes been trying to avoid by fucking w things and messing with the book of life. so all of the raposa have a bunch existential crisis abt them ceasing to exist if they go thru with this but then they decide to to it anyway bc the alternative is just as bad blah blah and u go and kill wilfre and he does this when he dies which is cool

and now heather is back!! and her and mari and jowee are all talking about mike and how important he is and meanwhile mike has no clue whats going on and is kind of freaked out by all of this, but theyre all like “mike you need to wake up” as theyre all fading out of existence and shit around him and eventually him and heather are the only ones left and they dissapear too

and THATS when you get the ending and find out it was all like a dream mike was having while he was in a coma after a car crash anx this plays while the credits role lol https://youtu.be/Kur0qaYM1jM

^ they ended up releasing different versions oft he game w a less dark (but still w the whole ‘it was all a dream twist’) and thats it!!

there was also another game released for the wii that like gave wilfre a girlfriend kind of but i never played it to completion bc it used the wii remotes motion controls to like draw and shit and it was rly janky and hard so i never finished it and most ppl did the same. i kind of rlly want to try playing it again tho bc it was a p cute looking game even if the controls were fucked up

AND YEA thats drawn to life its a weird silly little series tht i was obsessed w when i was a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart :) i basicaly just spoiled the entire series i guess but if u have a ds or a 3ds (bc the game is backwards complatible ! ) id still suggest like getting a cartidge off ebay or something and playing it bc its honestly a rlly sweet and beautiful looking game and i think a lot of it still homds up even if the controls r rlly janky now

Well, even if he COULD drink, he probably would refuse to so, his “medical condition” is just an excuse, seeing as he probably wouldn’t even fucking care if it threatened his life if he WANTED to do it. There’s a big difference also in if we’re talking a “injured” Mike or a Mike that would be theoretically free of his condition. The short of it is, that an injured Mike would probably be like- really jokey and relaxed, laughing way too loudly- Until something snaps and his grip slips.

They were sitting together in the back of the location. Mike was laughing at a joke he had pulled. Something about making holy water via boiling- Dave and Old Sport were both to each side of him, sharing grins, rather proud of the fact that they managed to slip the guard something alcoholic into the drink. No mercy on the guard, they filled him up and they planned to shove him out among the other guards so they too could enjoy his newfound joyfulness. Frankly- for Dave’s taste it was almost a bit TOO joyful, seeing how much Old Sport was laughing along, seemingly really enjoying the silly and partially nonsensical jokes. But… he let it slide. This was fine. Old Sport was just enjoying his behavior NOW, not really his usually behavior. So- it was fine for now. Pulling out the flask he had, he offered Mike another swig. “C’mon Mikey, just another bit!” “NaaaAAAaaahhhh- I- I caaaan’t-“ He laughed again, playfully swiping against the Purple Guy, almost hitting the bottle out of Dave’s hand. Old Sport learned in too. “Aw, but Miiiiiiiiike…! It’s gonna be fun!” Again the Guard snicker, wrapping an arm around the shoulders of each of them. “Boois. Noo.” Dave didn’t let up, widely grinning. “Only a small bit, ya aren’t a pussy, are ya?” There was… something. As though the air itself died. It wasn’t even a sudden sense of danger, it was a sudden sense of the inevitable end. The arms around them felt like steel. “I said no.” Old Sport had grown completely cold. This wasn’t Mike. This wasn’t even close to Mike. The voice was high and childish, coming from somewhere else- Slowly Mike turned his head, his eyes wide and dark, brightly glowing dots within them, an expression of mania in his face. “… hello Mr. Spring Freddy. It’s me.” Before Old Sport could free himself from the grasp, Mike screamed out in a painfully loud noise that seemed to rip through his body, as he jumped and pushed Old Sport over to the ground, biting down with teeth that certainly weren’t his- Dave instantly grabbed this monster and pulled it over, ripping it off with all his strength, which ended in the guard being crashed against the wall- that was apparently though still not enough to stop it. It STUCK to the wall, cowering against it, staring at him from blindingly white shining dots- Then it jumped back towards the Purple Guy, who wrestled it down, trying to keep up with the body that seemed to SHIFT under him, whispering and WAILING- Phone Guy looked around for his guards. This was... odd. Sure, they disappeared from time to time, but usually… not together? Honestly, this was VERY concerning. Moving from room to room, the manager tried to spot a hint of them and what they were up to, hoping he wouldn’t see Mike stressed out of his mind or hurt- No, no, he can take care of himself. He’s a strong guy. They’d regret putting their hands on him. Another door opened, another empty room. Why was this place so darn big? Finally- a room that had some light shining from under it. “Mike-?” As he opened the door, he instantly froze in the door. The whole room was PLASTERED in blood. It was splattered EVERYWHERE, every wall, up to the CEILING. Thick and a very dark red, incredibly unnatural… Dave and Old Sport were laying on the ground, completely unmoving. Mike sat between them, leaned against the wall, staring into nothing. When their eyes met, he slowly began standing up, trying to brush himself off, but only getting more of the disgusting looking blood on his suit. “… I’ll… have to get cleaned up.” As he approached, Simon simply stepped to the side, letting him pass, but- “… Mike, I-“ The guard simply made a silencing gesture, passing him, muttering under his breath. Quietly the Phone Guy looked after him, then at the dead- well as dead as it got with these two- bodies. Something happened here, but he wouldn’t question this. Honestly, this scene was the least of his worries. What REALLY worried him were the words that the guard had said while passing him. ‘… who even is that Mike guy they keep talking about…?’ He has a few spirits with him at all time, all of them the worst part of maybe hundreds of people. People who tended to die miserably deaths. Some of them even deserved it. Leave sleeping dogs lie. (p.s. Mike worst boy, all of you have no taste. He’s about as endearing as a screaming frog- Then again, maybe that’s the appeal)

SCD Week 8 Thoughts

My totally unaffected by spoiler thoughts. Honest.

Alex and Neil - IT’S NEIL THIS TIME XD. This wasn’t Alex’s worst dance I’ve seen honestly, it wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t that bad. Her dynamics are getting better but she still needs more definition in her body, mainly in her arms she still looks like she’s at a wedding reception rather than a dance competition. The judges said she had energy but honestly it lacked energy for me, she had more in her Charleston. I’m definitely liking her a bit more now tho. Mayyyyybe cos her and Neil went to see Six the Musical which I have recently become obsessed with but I’M NOT BIASED PROMISE omg if they get to musical week ARE THEY GONNA DO A SIX SONG???

Mike and Katya - Woah I must be going crazy cos he got slagged off when I think it was one of his better dances! It wasn’t amazing obviously but he was so toned down here and he didn’t make the Paso face look stupid which I honestly thought he would. His shapes didn’t look awkward and he got the steps somewhat okay. I’m not gonna stand here and say it was amazing, like it still deserved to be bottom of the leaderboard (well maybe not over Alex oops don’t come for me) but wowzer it definitely wasn’t his worst.

Karim and Amy - Okay seriously Craig’s whole rise and fall thing in the Viennese Waltz HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH CRAIG?? FUCK. Karim as always looked like a great dancer, just unfortunate he messed up a bit. His frame was nice and he was leading the dance but yeah mistakes cost him an awful lot of points wow harsh.

Chris and Karen - KING IS STILL REIGNING OKAY AND YES I’M BIASED F OFF. Hoooooly craaaaap he was GOOD! He was good at the Tango! I’m amazed omg. Yes his frame still needs definition and it wasn’t perfect in terms of footwork but fuck he got some nice sharp dynamics in there! He was focused, his Tango face was pretty nice (lol I’d make it too silly so I admire comedians who can do it) and he led the dance great. He did sometimes seem a little bit tense and worried but like I would be too if I was dancing around a load of fire. I also get what Bruno was saying about the walking thing but WELL DONE CHRIS WE STAN.

( @missemperor ) Michelle and Giovanni - Michelle queen of ballroom is BACK. I always love her ballroom and she did not disappoint this week XD. As always her ballroom was neat and her frame was excellent. She transitioned into lifts pretty much effortlessly and ALL I WOULD SAY is there was one tiny moment she could have given a bit more energy to. But 36 honestly a bit harsh for me, I wouldn’t say it was perfect but in my head I score out of 40 rather than 10 so like 37 or 38 would have been more fitting but 36 is not bad at all XD.

Emma and Anton - I was hoping Emma would absolutely excel in Theatre/Jazz and HONESTLY it was about half way for me. She definitely looked in her element and when she got into the moves she looked AMAZING, she had some nice dynamics. However there was some timing issues where she wasn’t in sync with Anton, whether it was moving the hat or turning round sometimes she could be a bit behind. I STILL THINK IT WAS GREAT. Just if she were to do it again timing and synchronisation would be top priority IMO.

Saffron and AJ - Okay yes it was great almost flawless right yeah whatever. Sorry I really don’t like her even if she is great at ballroom XD. Idk what it was about this one that didn’t impress me as much as the Foxtrot, it just didn’t. Maybe cos AJ used that move AGAIN that he used in the Paso and maybe the Contemporary (I can’t remember) where she’s on one leg and AJ’s moving round so she’s turning on the ball of her foot, whenever they do that I just want to PUSH SAFFRON’S SHOULDER BACK. LIKE JUST MOVE YOUR SHOULDER BACK AND YOUR ARM WILL MOVE BACK AND IT WON’T LOOK SO DAMN AWKWARD. Right think I got it all out of me XD. Maybe my problem was also her facial expressions but it didn’t bother me in the Foxtrot so IDK SOMETHING DIDN’T SIT RIGHT FOR ME WITH THIS DANCE but I do agree that it deserved a high score. MAYBE NOT TENS, but a high score.

Kelvin and Oti - Omg I didn’t realise during song list time but THIS SONG ALWAYS REMINDS ME OF MAX AND PADDY FUCK XD. I mean Kelvin is northern so I guess it works XD. Yay Oti delivered a good week 8 Salsa!! AS MUCH AS I LOVE SWANNY I’m not blind XD. I mean if Bruno says the hips were back then the hips were back I was more focusing on dancing like but cool XD. He brought back the flow in his upper body that he had from the Samba that made me love him from the start XD. I don’t think it was perfect, sometimes he looked a bit hesitant on lifts but it was definitely AMAZING!

Right final thoughts, favourites were the usual (YES I’M BIASED), Michelle and Giovanni and Kelvin and Oti. Least favourite oooooo I’m gonna go for Alex and Neil. Honestly fight me on this but the judges are being way too lenient with her, I mean she’s gonna get through anyway cos she’s with Neil you don’t have to be so generous XD. Was quite an interesting week and quite a high standard as well!

Amusement park: (these are based on amusement parks I have been to since they're all I know, lol)

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

- they go early so they can do everything (twice) but they also stay until it gets dark bc El wants to see all the lights

- one of her favorite rides is the big ship that swings back and forth because it feels like flying

- Max, Lucas, and Dustin take El on her first roller coaster ride, and it's super scary but she also loves it (Robin and Nancy go, too)

Lucas and Dustin scream like little girls on the roller coaster and become the butt of many jokes about it (most of them from Max)

Max and Lucas would totally try to kiss for the roller coaster camera (idk why okay, stop me) but the photo would look absolutely ridiculous and Max’s hair is fuckin EvERYWHERE

El uses some of her money to buy a copy of the photo (she buys a copy of their photo from every ride, it's a lot of money, but the others help her out with it), and when she gets home, Will helps her make a collage of all the photos that she puts up in her room

- El also wants caricatures, but they don't have enough money for everyone (so she just gets one of herself). Will watches the artist, who gives him tips on how to do it so he can draw some for El later (and he totes does bc good brother vibes)

- they do the ferris wheel last bc it is super romantic (even more so at night), and everyone wants to go with everyone else. Max wants to go up every time someone else does bc she wants to try to spy on them, lol

the guy running the ferris wheel is just like “you kids again???” bc they keep just getting off the ride and going straight to the back of the line to go up again, but eventually they have to stop bc the park is literally about to close and they’ll be kicked out

- there's also a haunted house ride and El absolutely has to ride with Mike bc when she is scared or feels like she's in danger, he's always been the best at making her feel okay again. She clings to him throughout the ride, but ends up laughing at how cheesy not-scary most of the effects are.

- as exhilarating as the drop rides are, El doesn’t like going on them too much but she can do it like, once. maybe twice.

- Lucas and Max, and Dustin and Will, like that ride that’s like the ferris wheel except you’re in a cage and you can manipulate the cage (by spinning it and stuff) to take you upside down. Dustin and Max do it too much, like to an extreme, and Will and Lucas are like “stop, the world is literally spinning” and they’re very disoriented when they get off

- there’s a rapids ride, and since the rafts are big enough to hold 8 people, the whole party is able to go together in one, and then the teens can go together in another one. they totally get sprayed by bystanders. 

- there's a shooting game (like where you go through a tunnel on a track, and targets pop up and you shoot them)

Lucas is the best and El rides with him bc the best should introduce the newbie, and she has so much fun, it's nothing like the guns she's experienced in her previous (lab) life.

Max and Dustin fight really hard to be second best.

Mike and Will go together and compared to the others, they suck, but that's okay they have fun anyway, and they joke about their own terribleness.

- Dustin buys those deep-fried snacks (you know the ones I mean) and he is literally the only person in the group that likes them (okay, not true, Robin can handle them, too)

El, against the advice of the others, wants to try those snacks bc she’s never heard of anything like that before, and the first time she takes a bite, her face goes through a range of like 10 emotions bc she’s being assaulted by flavors-

but after she manages to swallow it, she’s like “wow, that was amazing” and the others are like “...you serious??”

Mike is just like “that is disgusting and I’m not kissing you after that lol” and El is just like “but...why?” (he totes does tho, he doesn’t give a f, he’s kissing his gf bc he just can’t resist the cuteness)

Nancy, even though she doesn’t necessarily like it, can totally handle taking a bite and finishing it (like that beer from season 1) and Robin is like “that’s impressive, band geek” and Nancy’s just like “I’m not in band” (idk lol)

- El wanting to try EVERY food but the others have to cut her off bc it’s so expensive and she will get so sick

- Mike being a good bf and holding souvenirs bought by his bf and gf (Will totally buying a sweet little something for his awesome mom) (El totally doing the same thing to remind herself of Hopper, but she keeps it in her room instead)

- Lucas also being a good bf for the same reason but complaining about it, lol

- everyone goes on the log ride (you might know it as the flume) bc there isn’t a person on earth who doesn’t like that ride, and even tho she knows about the impending splash, El is still super surprised when it happens

Groups, in order (front to back):

El, Mike, Max, and Lucas (Max is explaining to El over Mike’s shoulder that “you absolutely HAVE TO be in the front, it’s the best way”)

Suzie, Dustin, Steve, and Robin (irrelevant but don’t tell me Robin sits in front of Steve, there’s no fuckin way, she’s not his gf, also Steve and Dustin just have to sit together bruh)

Will, Dustin (bc obvsly he goes on again), Nancy, and Jonathan

Mike has his arms around El like he thinks he’s going to protect her from the huge spray of water (but his skinny arms won’t protect shit lol) and he somehow manages to make a decent photo come out of him kissing her cheek while she is simultaneously screaming (good screaming)

- everyone loves the bumper cars (Jonathan and Suzie hang back tho, to hold everyone’s stuff and cheer from the side)

Max, as the only one (sans teens) who has actually driven a car before, rides with El so she can teach her how to do it

her and Lucas (with his passenger Will) are automatically in competition with one another (”you’re going down!” “no, YOU’RE going down!”)

Robin, riding by herself, goes after Steve and driver Nancy (who’s surprisingly good at this)

and Dustin (passenger Mike) gangs up with Robin to take on Steve and Nancy, which makes Nancy even more determined now to destroy both of them

Steve’s a little afraid of Nancy when she’s like this, lol

eventually Dustin and Robin are like “okay okay, we’ll stop! jesuschrist, how did you get so good at this??” (but also they are just in total awe of Nancy) and they just go after each other instead

- El doesn’t like spinning rides (too dizzy and they totally make her tummy “feel weird, like there’s a storm in it” “uh oh, you’re nauseous, El” “naw-shus?” “yeah, like sick, here, sit down for a minute”), but Will loves them and he’s there for her

- the sky ride (the one that takes you from end of the park to the other), groups:

Mike and Will on one side, Max and El on the other (the seats are basically little cabins, seats for 4 people)

Lucas and Dustin on one side, Jonathan and Steve on the other

Robin on one side (she totally takes up the whole double space, putting her leg up), Nancy and Suzie on the other

- carousel ride! (during the day)

El wants the prettiest horse

Max gets the most badass thing which is like...a wolf??

Lucas and Dustin ride only bc there’s a game where you can try to throw rings into a hole while going around (they each get one in by pure luck but otherwise suck). they don’t really care what animals they get, they just need ones that move up and down. Dustin gets a cat with a fish in his mouth, and Lucas ends up just picking a rabbit before everything is taken and he doesn’t have a choice anymore. The others fuckin laugh at the image of Lucas riding a rabbit

Suzie gets another horse

Will gets a lion which doesn’t move up and down but he’s okay with that, he’s kinda just going bc everyone else is

Mike gets stuck with a horse bc he was at the back of the group and by the time he gets there, every other non-horse animal is taken (but they joke about how he should have gotten the non-moving giraffe, taken by Steve, bc it’s so tall and gangly like him lol)

Nancy gets a horse

Robin takes the wild boar bc “dude that is the most badass animal on a carousel I have ever seen!”

Jonathan stays behind, no matter how much the others beg, but he takes lots of really good pictures (including the one time Dustin gets the ring in the hole and then cheering, then also him and Lucas high-fiving, and the various couples exchanging really cute looks, and El having the best time ever bc she’s never been on one of these before)

they go on the carousel one more time near the end of the night and this time Jonathan gives in and rides with them, but he sits in one of the benches that’s just there for the parents), and he still takes pictures as best he can without getting up and moving

- photo booth photos! (I’ll leave the silly face ones up to your imagination)

El and Max (one super close hug with faces pressed together, one kiss, one silly faces, and one smiles)

Will and Mike, but Max and El totally burst in for like, the last 1.5 pictures, it doesn’t ruin them tho, Mike and Will just ignore them (one nice smiles bc they’re like “what do we do??”, one hug, one kiss being interrupted by the girls in the background, one candid laughing while the girls wave at the camera)

Will and Mike again (one candid of Mike holding the curtain shut to make sure no interruptions and Will laughing, one kiss (non-interrupted), one silly faces, one just being super cute and close together and leaning on each other)

Max and Lucas (one smiles, one kiss, one of her pretending to look tough by putting him in a headlock or putting a fist next to his face like a punch, one that was supposed to be funny faces but instead is her looking off to the side where Mike has opened the curtain and stuck his head (with his tongue out) in as revenge and Lucas with that look of “dude, really??” on his face)

Dustin and Suzie (one kiss, one smiles, one nose-to-nose, one super close together leaning on each other cute)

Mike and El (one smiles, one kiss, one of him like surprise-trying to pull her into his lap kind of thing idk and her just looking super surprised but happy but also Max is in the background ruining YET ANOTHER picture, and one candid of them giggling about the previous picture with their foreheads pressed together almost nose-to-nose)

Mike and El again bc she wants non-interrupted photos (one with her actually sitting in his lap this time (she did this beforehand so he wouldn’t scare her again with the surprise-pulling thing), one of them pretending to look all hoity-toity like super models, one with her arms around his neck and his arms around her waist and they’re all close and cute sort of candid, and one just like the last one except they’re looking at the camera and smiling)

Will and Mike and El (one with Mike in the middle while his gf and bf give him a kiss on each cheek, one with El hanging over Mike’s shoulders in sort of a half-piggyback and he and Will are laughing, one with Mike and Will kissing while El makes a funny face at the camera, one of them all making funny faces at the camera)

Max and El and Mike (one with El in the middle, Max’s arms are around her waist almost dipping her backwards, her legs are up in the air (as far up as they can go in the tiny booth) and her head is tilting back onto Mike’s shoulder with his arms around her shoulders and he’s pressing a kiss to her hair, one with El kissing Mike’s cheek while he and Max make funny faces, one with Max behind them and her arms over both of their shoulders pulling them all close and their faces squished together with this super big cheesy grin while Mike is laughing at El’s funny face, one with Mike and El kissing and Max sitting next to them making the 👌🏻 symbol and winking at the camera, bc she just has to get sassy)

Bonus, more teens:

- Robin takes Steve on all the crazy rides (aka drags him, makes him go, etc.) They both get a little sick, but for her it's totally worth it (for him...not so much)

- Dustin and Robin get along hella bc he joins them on the crazy rides and is just @steve like “what are you, a pussy?”

- Nancy has to remind Jonathan that the kids will be FINE, and they don't need to hover around them all evening, "let's go enjoy ourselves"

- Nancy likes roller coasters, CHAnGE mY MInD

- Steve and Robin totally scream when they go on the drop ride together, except Robin’s scream is more “holy shit, exhilarating and so exciting! whooooo!” while Steve’s is more “this is fun but also I’m totally gonna die!!”

- Steve is a boss at those games where you have to throw something at/into/onto a target and he wins a stuffed animal

- Robin is p decent at those games too, but she’s not a match for the king (she comes close though, they actually turn it into a competition to see who can win more stuff)

- Nancy kicks butt at that game where you shoot a spray of water and make the target thing rise to the top or race or whatever (any shooting game, really), you know what I mean (Jonathan fucking fails, sorry Jonathan)

- Steve totally wins that game where you swing a mallet and try to ring the bell. Robin doesn’t win but she gets way closer than they thought she would and Steve’s “wtf”. Dustin is also stronger than he looks, and even tho he doesn't win, he can at least lift the (smaller) mallet, which is more than any of the others can do.

- Robin HAS to do that game where you try to climb the flat, almost horizontal rope ladder to the end and she doesn’t even make it halfway before she falls, but it’s hilarious

- Nancy also tries that game after some goading from the others, and she makes it farther than Robin (about halfway) but still fails fantastically. And then she takes a bow.
