can’t stop thinking abt a reader x art x patrick scenario where art is getting all the attention meanwhile patrick sits back and tells the reader the best ways to absolutely RUIN art … does this make me a cuck … maybe 🩷
Tumblr media
MILA MILA MILA LMFAOAOAO
yesyesyes i totally get this concept. like, i think patrick would be jealous, but i also think he’d enjoy sitting back and directing you to all the right places to touch art. (im definitely gonna include this in the threeway fic.. believe me.)
when art is moaning into the reader’s neck, patrick is just sitting next to the two of them with a smug grin on his face, whispering things like, “touch his chest,” and “kiss him there,” to the reader (soft enough so that art doesn’t hear)
UUGGHH?
Tumblr media
me trying not to actively think about reducing art donaldson into a whimpering mess while patrick groans little hints into my ear abt how i can make art feel even better

edgar woe.begone: low empathy, high masking
THESIS: my reading of edgar woe.begone is that he's a low empathy autistic who has no innate intuition for social cues and has had to teach himself everything about social interaction from scratch, which is an interpretation that i think explains a lot about him.
now, i am very critical of edgar as a person. i think he's a less than good person and a bad boyfriend. but let me be VERY clear right off the bat: these symptoms don't make anyone a bad person. these symptoms aren't even bad per se. theyre all disabling symptoms that make social interaction more difficult for the person who has them. like any symptom, they have to be managed and compensated for.
some people under the neurodivergent/mentally ill umbrella, as with any group of people, are bad people. being a bad person flavors one's approach to their mental illness, and mental illness in turn flavors the manner in which they're a bad person. the mental illness isn't what makes you bad, but it does affect how your shittiness manifests.
disclaimers done, a good place to start is the way edgar speaks, especially with jeremy's performance. edgar always sounds very reasonable, approachable, and agreeable, and there is never an ounce of genuine emotion in his voice. he talks like an autistic person with zero innate intuition for social interaction who has taught himself to speak in the way that he's learned will get the best response.
edgar's customer service voice is the only one we hear and likely the only one he uses if he can help it. we know edgar's a tactician, a persuader. why use any other voice than the one he's carefully fine-tuned to make people like him and be receptive to what he's saying? this isn't even necessarily cynical: what do you want him to do, talk in a more uncontrolled, emotional way--that he's not used to managing--that will make people like him less?? what good would that do?
edgar likes control. he's more comfortable when things are in his hands, and only his. propagation definitely factors in here--if [link: my theory] that propagation is what solidified the certainty of edgar's death is true, it's no wonder he wants to control and limit the spread of information. edgar prefers to be in charge of making the plans, ideally alone.
this is part of why mike is perpetually out of the loop, even regarding decisions that concern him--which is pretty damn paternalistic. but there's a more wholesome aspect as well: edgar genuinely thinks he's doing mike a favor.
edgar knows mike has undergone and is undergoing a lot, and that he's terrible with plans and a major blabbermouth. if edgar can take care of a problem without mike having to worry his pretty head and perfect eyebrows about what to do, without knowing it ever existed, isn't that so much better? that's edgar being a good boyfriend, actually. he's helping!
it probably doesn't even occur to edgar how much this limits mike's agency, how much it hurts mike that edgar refuses to let him in, how this puts them on unequal footing, how fucking patronizing it is to not let your boyfriend make his own decisions about his own life. oh, how the tables have tabled since him originally telling mike that keeping the story of woe.begone from him didn't protect him, it impeded his ability to make informed choices.
here's where the low empathy creates problems--edgar doesn't have that innate intuition for how mike's feeling, and he doesn't (effectively) manage or compensate for it, and he definitely doesn't communicate with mike enough to know how he's affected by this shit (avoiding too much information sharing is good, remember?)
and mike certainly isn't going to tell him! mike is a goddamn simp. he's not going to establish boundaries. he's not going to put his foot down and demand better treatment. as if he fucking deserves that in the first place, pshaw. the only time he pushes back is in season 10 when he doesn't remember their relationship, and edgar is deeply shaken.
edgar is devastated to learn he hurt mikey, because he does genuinely adore that man. he would get lasso lessons from michael and rope him the moon if he could. his low empathy and efforts to manage everything himself keep him from realizing that mikey, a hyperempathetic mess who gets sentimental about pens, seriously suffers from being shut out like this.
edgar's thought process must be equally inscrutable to mikey, who just figures it would be asking too much to be an active and equal participant in his own relationship and life. edgar's perfect and great, so if mikey deserved that, he would already be giving it to him. if mikey's unhappy with any part of their relationship, no he isn't. he's lucky he has edgar at all. he's lucky he has anyone.
recall michael's agonized admission that "everything is about rugby, dammit" 10(++++) years and edgar's literal death later. we can only guess at how bad his rugby was, but we do know michael never talked it through with edgar. he tells mike this was him 'letting it go' actually, when the fact that theyre having this conversation at all is proof that he extremely hasn't. this is what 'letting it go' looks like to michael: burying an issue forever and giving up on ever getting closure.
so yes, edgar does authentically deeply love his mikey-bear. unfortunately, if you never establish the communication to bridge the differences between your own methods of operating and that of your partner, love will only get you so far. and the first time around, where it got them was michael fighting back tears in an apartment in latvia over a wound from edgar that he suffered in silence until the day he died.

It's always gonna be the suspenders kink with Mike.
Tumblr media
Mike wearing the suspenders is an absolute thirst trap. I'm weak.
Snap!
Snap!
SNAP!
"Ouch, god damn babe."
"Shhh, hands to the side baby."
SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!
Mike groaned under you. His cock twitched with each snap of the suspenders against his already pink skin. The sting sinking all the way down into his bones and straight to his cock buried to the hilt in you. Even the bite of his zipper made his cock jump and twitch as you looked down at him with stern and focused eyes.
"Come on baby," he cooed under you as hands caressed up and down over your thighs. "Ride me."
SNAP!
He hissed through his teeth with that one as you frowned down at him. Lips pursed in mock annoyance as your fingers played with the strap again. Pulling it back, SNAP, it cracked against an exposed nipple. Mike winced with that one, his chest flush with arousal and lightly welted with little pink stripes from his punishment.
Squeezing his cock in the way you knew would make him groan and plead under you.
"You're not in charge here," you reminded him with a scolding tone. Clenching in just the right way you knew would make him groan and push him to the edge of begging again.
A flush of pleasure ran through you as you held his cock inside of you. Power and lust mixed in your blood as you gave a few jerks of your hips and Mike struggled to stay as still as possible.
A soft string of curses fell from his lips.
"Who's in charge, Michael?"
Groaning deep in his chest, as his fingers dug into your slowly gyrating hips.
SNAP!
SNAP!
SNAP!
"Who?"
"You are," he gasped out, hands loosening against your rolling hips as he swallowed around the knot in his throat. "You're in charge, baby."
Rewarding him with a soft caress against the pink welted flesh of his chest, it pulled a sigh from him. Mike looked up at you through heavy lashes, fluttering along with his shuddering breath as your fingertips neared his nipple. Hissing and hips jerking against you as you seized a nipple in a tight pinch. The sensation went straight to his cock, throbbing inside of you with need and the effort it took to hold back.
It passed after a moment, Mike's labored breaths sounding loud in the quiet of the room.
A hum of approval sounded in your chest, "Good boy." You praised, leaning down and capturing his lips in a hungry kiss of tongue and teeth.
"Now," you husked against his swollen begging mouth. "Make me feel good."

okay last thing i will say on the subject for tonight (maybe) but i think what most viewers -- and most readers, in all honesty -- fail to understand is that it 1986 is abnormal. it is a weird book. it is not a traditional horror novel with a traditional horror setup and, while of course it IS horrifying in every way a book can be horrifying, that is not its main focus. it 1986 was never meant to revolve around gore or blood or death. it was meant to revolve around the losers club. the protagonists of the novel are what made it so impactful when it was initially published and they are what continue to make it so impactful today. pennywise, as a villain, is only important as it relates to the losers club (and btw it will be referred to here on out as pennywise, despite that not being its actual name, for clarity). because the actual book cannot survive without those central characters, it just can't. it 1986 is about seven people who are extraordinarily, supernaturally, surreally deranged about each other and in love with each other who have their lives irrevocably altered by a trauma they faced together, although separately. but does it really matter, because aren't the characters themselves both one person and not??
to understand king's original intention with the novel is to understand the losers and it 2017 massively, undeniably fails to do so. in an effort to create relatability, and to scare larger audiences, it 2017 (which for this post's purposes encompasses the entire remake franchise) totally disregards the bond and dynamic between the losers club. really, it disregards any element of magic at all. richie and bill get into a physical altercation in which punches are pulled, bill has to force the losers to hunt pennywise with him, mike drugs bill, mike lies to the losers, etc. the list goes on and on. it 2017 wants desperately to be a drama, and therefore its protagonists must face internal conflict. but none of this could EVER have been present in king's novel. the magical ties and promises that bind the losers are such that they not only care about each other but ARE each other at times. they can read each other's minds, bev thinks at one point. they -- and i know this is a sensitive subject for many but it's worth mentioning -- quite literally have a platonic orgy to solidify their bonds with one another. they are strange. the relationship between these characters depends entirely on forces outside of their own control. to suggest that they could fight like schoolchildren, per it 2017, goes against the very fabric of it 1986. these characters cannot fight like kids. they are, of course, barely even kids (and still completely kids). it's confusing. that's the point.
fine, then. we aren't allowed a weird dynamic with the remakes. where does that leave us with each individual protagonist, then? well, quite frankly, nowhere. the losers are completely intertwined, and erasing their relationship does absolutely nothing beneficial to the characters' personalities. the decision to loosen the bond between the characters -- to make them seem more like casual friends than soulmates -- comes at a detriment to every single character. and i mean every single one (yes, also bev). this goes back to what i was saying earlier about how, oftentimes, the losers seem to be one functioning body. what is bill if not the leader of this group? where is richie if not fitted into the overall group ecosystem? nothing and nowhere, apparently. the losers become childish mockeries of who they were meant to be. for example: stan's entire personality in the remakes is "jewish." that is quite literally his entire thing. so now we have a movie with shitty characters based off a book that is ostensibly known for its characters. already, we are off to a terrible start.
but it doesn't stop there! see, the problem is, pennywise depends on the characters just as the characters depend on their relationship just as their relationship depends on its magic (see the pickle we've gotten into?). the bone-chilling, spine-tingling terror of book pennywise is that it's always one step ahead. it knows your fears, sure, but it also knows what you love. it knows your hopes and dreams. it knows what you do in your free time and it knows how you interact with your friends and it knows all your inside jokes. and sometimes it shows up just to play! sometimes it's barely even menacing. sometimes it is just there because it can be, because each loser's relationship with pennywise is its own kind of individual horror, and pennywise wants them to know that. here is where the fear originates: you cannot run from it because it knows you and sometimes maybe it is you. you cannot escape something that has lived inside of you all along. and that sounds cliche, and quite possibly one of THE simplest horror metaphors to nail, but here is where it 2017 truly screws the pooch. without fleshed-out characters, it is impossible to do pennywise any of the justice it deserves. suddenly, it has no point of access to the losers, because they have no personalities to target. pennywise loses everything that made it terrifying in the first place, because it cannot exist without the losers. instead it relies on a mouthful of sharp teeth and a silly dance that will hopefully scare the audience. pennywise, after some slightly personalized meddling (and i mean SLIGHTLY. a painting?) to freak the kids out, attacks every loser in almost exactly the same way. that defeats the point of the story.
the audience does not leave a screening of it 2017 with any lingering feelings of dread or despair or i-should-leave-the-lights-on-tonight. the audience leaves with a classic slasher satisfaction and the knowledge that pennywise is really good at Eating You, if it so chooses. but there's none of the personal panic that there should be upon consumption of any version of stephen king's it -- there's no vague, half-formed thought that maybe it is waiting for YOU. not just anyone, but YOU. pennywise has been entirely impersonal and random for the entire movie. why should you be afraid?? it doesn't know YOU. it can't. and so the remakes fail. of course they do! they were fucked from the moment the losers' slates were wiped almost entirely clean.
but hey, i'm sure they tried their best?

Fnaf movie spoilers
It’s not good (in my opinion) . And not in the good campy horror movie way.
The things I didn’t like.
First and foremost the trailers spoiled the movie.
I thought that were taking liberties with the original lore but it was just ignoring major lore points like having Vanessa as William’s kid instead of mike???
It forced Vanessa in and used her as a lore dump and forced a relationship between her and mike really fast.
The presentation of the animatronics while I don’t hate it it doesn’t stick to them being vengeful spirits and has them controlled by William instead of the remnant lore.(which I really don’t like.)
They just presented William as a evil villain with out motive not the death of one of his kid spurring on his killing spree.(which I don’t mind the idea of, but it combined with all the other weird changes was bad.)
They changed Elizabeth’s name to Abby which I didn’t mind.
Some weird focus on mike reliving cc (now known as Garrett .) being kidnapped but not in the way where he blames himself just a weird non emotional re-experience of it continuously throughout the movie.
The characters feel flat and uninteresting. They also don’t do anything for a majority of the movie.
I would have preferred more blood and horror but that’s just me.
The animatronics killing people has like no tone and impact. Also’s sorry excuse for a bloody handprint smear.(I’m being nitpicky here but if you’re going to have limited blood and gore at least have a good bloody handprint smear.)
The animatronics aren’t really intimidating to me. ( some of the other people I was watching it with who aren’t familiar with fnaf found them creepy though.)
No markiplier cameo /j
William getting spring locked was not guttural enough.
I just didn’t like Vanessa in the movie.
Not very clear on what decade the movie was in.
The dialogue was really disjointed.
What I like about the movie
I absolutely loved the visual props they referenced so much of the franchise and I picked out so many different details.
The balloon boy gag so good and it wasn’t over used.
I love the blank stupid stare the animatronics have, they’re so silly.
Near the end there was a spring lock suit that was an obvious reference to circus baby and Abby was nearly killed by being put into it.
Near the end there’s a seen where Abby is running away from foxy and hides between a game cabinet an pinball machine and I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to the first books.
The office is a mix between several different games offices.( the desk has exactly all the clutter in the first game but the monitors are setup like sister location.)
The layout is pretty much fnaf 1.
Just general references to all the different games and media. (I might have missed some of them myself.)
Love the pick for Williams actor.
Also golden Freddy ominously appearing in mikes house.( one of the people I was watching the movie jokingly guessed that Freddy would brake down the door and kill the aunt right before the seen happened.)
The banter between Mike and Abby was cute.
I really love the prop design it was eye candy.
The feral cupcake.<3
