Villain group: Beehive
Class 1-B was wrongfully expelled for a fight caused by Bakugou. Some of them chose to apply to other hero schools, but a group of them banded together to form the villain group Beehive. Now, their main goal is to get revenge on the UA staff as well as Class 1-A
Itsuka Kendo Villain name: Impact Quirk: Big Fists Feeling extremely guilty for not fulfilling her duties as their class rep, Kendo became the leader of Beehive, better known as the Queen Bee. Together with Monoma, the two are responsible for creating the plans for the group.
Reiko Yanagi Villain name: Wraith Quirk: Poltergeist After being expelled, Yanagi was furious at the school for not taking the proper measures to investigate the situation. She joined Kendo and Monoma as the third member of Beehive, and was the one who convinced Kodai to join them. She, along with Komori, Kodai and Kuroiro, works undercover to gather information, though still occasionally joins in on the fighting. She can now lift objects weighing more than 150kg
Neito Monoma Villain name: Copy cat Quirk: Copy Monoma was the second person to join Beehive following Kendo, overcome with rage at Class 1-A, especially Bakugou. He and Kendo are responsible for devising most of the plans and is their most well-rounded fighter due to his Quirk. He is working on using two Quirks at once, with little success.
Pony Tsunotori Villain name: Minitaur Quirk: Horn cannon Following their expulsion, Pony initially tried getting into other hero schools, but they were either too full or unwilling to take her in. After several failed attempts, she eventually sought out Kendo to ask to join Beehive. She was grateful for all Kendo had done for them in her time as class rep and was willing to follow along with her. Pony takes on the role of a frontline fighter. Along with Kaibara, she provides the distractions needed for her friends to escape.
Kinoko Komori Villain name: Mildew Quirk: Mushroom Komori joined Beehive shortly after Yanagi, angry at the unfairness of being expelled for something Bakugou had started. She holds the biggest grudge against Bakugou out of all of the group, and wants to be the one to take him down. Komori is a scout, and often pairs up with Kuroiro to gather information. She also uses her mushrooms to leave behind deadly calling cards after their heists.
Yui Kodai Villain name: Chisana Quirk: Size Kodai was the last member to join Beehive, requiring Yanagi’s convincing before agreeing to join. Her Quirk is extremely useful in most situations, and either her or Monoma (after copying her Quirk) will be sent on a mission due to her Quirk’s practicality. She has learned even more powerful applications of her Quirk, and can now generate explosions by expanding the air around her, as well as create vacuums by rapidly shrinking said air. Very OP
Sen Kaibara Villain name: Death Whirl Quirk: Gyrate Following the events of their expulsion, Kaibara had a falling-out with the rest of the Commonsense Kings, with the other three going on to other hero schools. Kaibara, however, felt that that heroes were negligent in their duties, and didn’t want to turn out like them. He joined Beehive around the time that Pony did, and took on the role of a frontline fighter alongside her.
Shihai Kuroiro Villain name: Abyss Quirk: Black Kuroiro is the best at undercover work among all of Beehive, and thus solely focuses on it. He is the only member who doesn’t fight at all, and will partner with another member if there is fighting involved. He is good friends with the other undercover members, especially Komori, who he has a crush on.
@spittyfishy Decided on which of the 1-B students would be villains :D It was a tough choice, because I love all of them tons, but these few stuck out to me.

Minitaur ---(lvl35 w/Final Gambit)---> Taurador
The Fighting Spirit Pokemon
Ghost/Fighting
Height: 6′5″ / 1.9m (from hoof to base of horn, when head isn’t down) Weight: 1,650lbs / 748kg
Ability: Vital Spirit/Moxie Hidden Ability: Anger Point
The flames on their tails (and later as their horns as well) is merely their spirit.
They have a passionately burning fighting spirit that fuels them and keeps them going. If their spirit were to break and they begin to lose it, the flame will dull and they won’t be able to survive, growing very weak. So it is good to provide these Pokemon with intense enrichment, exercise, and care. Taurador are not Pokemon for beginners, however, Minitaur are provided to those who are in training for the art of dancing with them or performing tricks with them.
Minitaur and Taurador are pretty large in size and very bulky. Most of their weight is pure muscle which aids in their speed and strength in battle. Minitaur, however, are a tad reckless and often fumble when charging. It is only when they evolve that they gain proper balance and are able to
These Pokemon are not native to the Magnia region.
“Fun” Facts (warning for some mildly dark content about bullfighting):
The Spanish Fighting Bull is the very special breed of bull used in bullfighting, unfortunately, which is the . They are attacked between the shoulders, hence the red “straps” on the shoulders of these fakemon. There is no way for the bull to win the fight, even if it ends up beating the person fighting it.
Anyways, this explains the choice of typing and some little design details.

Reviews 362: Peter & Patrick Jahn
The most recent 7” selection from Growing Bin Records is a cross-generational affair, with a father and son presenting sympathetic, yet varied takes on a slow motion balearic bomber. As the story goes, the younger of the Jahns–Patrick–found some old cassette tapes, one of which featured “naive synthesiser experiments and carefree noodling” from his father, Peter. Back in the 80s, Peter owned a pub called Schrank with an upstairs office used for studio experimentation and at some point during his auditory travels, the DIY explorer hit upon a breathtaking expanse of horizontal groove mesmerism, one that saw big-bottomed squelch basslines, hypnagogic funk beats, and downer guitar strokes jamming through clouds of orchestral ocean magic while spaghetti western reeds flow across otherworldly desert landscapes.
After Growing Bin main man Basso got wind of Peter’s achingly powerful slice of downbeat boogie, he invited Patrick to present his own interpretation of the track. And while Patrick certainly pays loving tribute to his father’s work, his version is also a rather radical reconfiguration. Present still are the Yamaha DX7, the Roland VP330 string machine and vocoder, and the wavetable synths, though Patrick augments the proceedings with additional rhythm machines, mellotron samples, and liberal doses of echo-soaked dub drum psychedelia, all of which come together for a doped out and ever-evolving dreamspace stomper. Best of all, the original’s already massive bassline has been transported to a Moog Minitaur, and is now rendered so huge and physical that it threatens to knock the Earth off axis with each and every hit.
Peter & Patrick Jahn - Abenteuer überm Schrank (Growing Bin Records, 2020) Peter’s original’s 1987 version of “Abenteuer überm Schrank,” the title of which aptly translates to “Adventure Above Schrank,” comes to life on squelching basslines…these mutant monstrosities…like big bulbous Italo grooves repurposed for twilight melancholia. Clipped guitars scratch out solar funk riffs while droning orchestrations and choirs of the abyss billow outwards in every direction, with walls of desperate moaning completely subsuming the spirit. The drums work into a sort of low slung and funked out machine break, which swings infectiously as further blasts of heatwave synthesis swim across a sunset sky…the sounds evoking the motions of liquid starlight. At some point, a harmonica or melodica-type lead emerges, which brings evocations of seaside ghost towns, cinematic gun duels, and saloon doors swinging from the unseen motions of ghosts. It’s a spaghetti western film score made for inhabitants of a haunted and faraway moon, with spacesuits and cowpoke garb smashed together…like a sonic an exercise in filmic retrofuturism. As the track progresses, dub inflected clacks breath in the distance and synthetic reed instruments continue their sad songs of enchantment until the rhythms suddenly fall away, leaving space at the end for one last dash of seaside desert melancholy. And here at the conclusion, I’d like to mention the restoration work Sergey Luginin, who took what was obviously a very degraded tape and somehow extracted a shimmering sonic gem.
Tumblr media
As for Patrick’s 2020 version, kick drums, snare, and toms splay out as tambourines jangle over sub bass thunder pulses. Dubwise claps, rimshots, and woodblocks further color the spectrum and shakers spit fire until everything cuts out, resulting in a stretch of emptiness filled by pads that move like an ocean of starshine...their melodies teasing out now-familiar themes over Carpenter-style horror movie Moog bass. The beats rejoin the city leveling basslines for a momentary hint of the original version’s groove, but everything breaks down once more and the yearning reed leads finally emerge to sing their songs of oceanic desert mysticisms while melodica-evoking dub breaths flutter through celestial ether. Kicks slap and abstracted claps fire as it all finally locks back in, now with the chest caving bass progression finally allowed its full form and blinding waves of Mellotronic magic blowing across the stereo field. Psychoactivating panoramas of dub fx hit from all directions as the rhythms take on an even more enhanced G-funk swing, with tons of shuffle kissing the double-time hi-hat patterns…the track almost daring you not to nod your head and lose yourself to the groove. Percolating reggae chords spread outwards like discrete wavefronts of moonlight and the jam starts to loosen, with frog song squelch textures and liquiform pads swirling together. And as the atmospheric and melodic elements suddenly pull away, we find ourselves in a heady club drum vibe out, with the stomping rhythm box jams and mammoth Moog basslines riding alone before being increasingly accented by fluidic chord flourishes, delayed dub riffs, and searing waves of Mellotron string magnificence…all while the pleading harmonica-style leads weave lonely desert dreamspells

Fun fact about Tori, he’s actually like, super short for a bull person. Got bullied when he was a kid. People called him a “Minitaur”. Still got them muscles though. (Also yeah I wanted to do this nice and quick and cute, so I unabashedly stole Triple Q’s smol art style)

Full Metal Furies likely coming to Linux
Tumblr media
Full Metal Furies is an RPG-laden action brawler for up to four players. Not officially announced but there is a Steam page, and it is coming to Linux. Developed by Cellar Door Games, best known for their platformer Rogue Legacy. Since the brawler formula is outdated news. Hence this game is created for a time when arcade machines guzzled quarters. So this isn’t more plain old beat-em-up gaming. Full Metal Furies is a new take at modernizing the genre. Bringing it to a new generation of gamers. So nothing is sacred in Full Metal Furies, everything is under review. Such as every issue from missing attacks due to obscure depth perception. Or crazy things, like fighting off-screen enemies.
youtube
Features
A modern take on the 2D RPG action brawler for Steam.
Full online and offline co-op play for up to 4 players.
Unique 'quick-swap' feature in single player. Lets you swap between two classes at any time during the action.
Tired of button mashing? The game features 4 unique character classes with their own skills and attacks. Engage from afar as the Sniper, slam up close as the Fighter, or prep turrets in people’s faces with the Engineer.
A special barrier system encourages communication and cooperation amongst players, and ensures that you always fight together.
Fully featured level up system with complex skill trees that unlock new abilities for each character class.
Find and master equipment that changes the way each heroine plays.
No damsels in distress, no saving the girl. Follow the Furies while they search for the answer to peace in a world ravaged by monstrous Titans.
Uncover hidden treasures galore as you solve meta-puzzles and unveil the secrets behind the disappearance of Prometheus, creator of Man.
Experience an in-depth adventure that spans multiple worlds and lasts for 20+ hours (estimated).
Say goodbye to wonky hit detection. FMF uses complex attack logic to ensure obtuse depth perception is a thing of the past.
No more cannon fodder. Fragile Artillerists will stay away and call air strikes from afar, while heavy-duty Minitaurs will charge at you and get up-close and personal. Every enemy is a threat.
Gameplay:
So on top of all this, a heap of more useful features for the action brawler. Hence an RPG skill trees, collectable equipment, and secret world meta-puzzles. And this isn't even talking about the co-op gaming. Full Metal Furies is being designed to support true cooperative gaming. So none of this, players sharing the same screen. Forget that news. A special “barrier system” means certain enemies can only be damaged by certain players. Forcing teammates to communicate and work together. If an ally falls you better pick them up, because those barriers don’t go away. And this isn’t just for people playing with friends. Singleplayer mode features a quick-swap system that allows you to choose two classes while going solo. Everything you do with your friends you can do alone, like stringing elaborate team combos. Best news of all, Cellar Door Games want to give gamers many opportunities to play with their friends and family. Hence why Full Metal Furies is supporting online co-op play.
Full Metal Furies Details:
Particularly what game engine is being used?
Custom proprietary engine. Uses the XNA/FNA framework.
Can we expect to see as Linux port?
A Linux port is likely to happen.
Will the game be coming to Early Access first?
It won't be available for Early Access, but we will be patching the game as soon as possible when it comes out in order to fix any bugs or issues people may have while playing.
What is the suggested release date?
We're hoping to have the game released sometime in Q3 of this year.
And at what stage is development now?
Extremely far into development. The game is alnost 100% content complete. We're mostly doing polish, balance, bug fixing, and adding that extra 10% of content above what we agreed upon
So there is a Steam listing for Full Metal Furies action brawler. Yet Linux is not listed and neither is the release date. However we still wanted to share some gaming news about the upcomnig title. Stay tuned for more details.

Kuka, who has a near monopoly on industrial robots that are painted orange, is now getting into consumer robots. Or, they’re thinking about it, at least.
Our i-do concept study, that we presented at Hannover Fair 2018, goes a considerable step further, however. I-do is a home robot platform that already hints at how we expect our homes to be in the future. Our home assistant is designed to assume all types of duties and makes our homes safer, achieving all this equipped with the requisite modular features and controlled by voice commands.

The Yamanaka Laboratory at the University of Tokyo hosted an expo this week called Parametric Move. It featured some creative robots (each driven by just one motor) that make me slighty uncomfortable:
And one that makes me VERY uncomfortable:
There was also this beautifully delicate robotic head called SEER, by Takayuki Todo:
And this robot made from servos and sticks that evolved its own optimized walking gait:

Softbank Robotics has super low-key launched a new version of NAO, the V6. It looks like the upgrades are mostly internal, but you can tell a new V6 from the dark grey color and the “NAO” logo on the chest (instead of the Aldebaran logo). RoboLab has the V6 for sale, and here’s a look at what’s new:

Usually, Festo releases all of its bionic learning network experiments at once, but they’ve snuck this robot in late. Called BionicFinWave, it’s inspired by the cuttlefish (and some other less interesting swimmy things):
The BionicFinWave uses its two side fins to move along. They are completely cast from silicone and do without struts or other support elements. This makes them extremely flexible and thus able to implement the fluid wave movements of their biological role models true to nature.
For this purpose, the two fins on the left and right are each fastened to nine small lever arms. These in turn are driven by two servo motors located in the body of the underwater robot. Two attached crankshafts transfer the force to the levers in such a way that the two fins can move individually. They can thereby generate different wave patterns, which are particularly suitable for a slow and precise movement and whirl up water less than a conventional screw drive does, for example.
In order to swim in a curved line, for example, the outer fin moves faster than the inner one – similar to the chains on a digger. A third servo motor on the head of the BionicFinWave controls the flexure of the body, which helps it to swim up and down. So that the crankshafts are suitably flexible and supple, a cardan joint is fitted between each lever segment. For this purpose the crankshafts including the joints and the connecting rod were made out of a single piece of plastic with the 3D printing method.
[ Festo BionicFinWave ]
Robocon is a robotics competition kind of like FIRST, except with more of an emphasis on autonomy. This year’s competition may have been a little bit miscalibrated, though, because the winning team in Japan took just 15 seconds to complete the entire challenge:
The goal here was to for each team’s robot to autonomously toss a ball through the red (or blue) hoop twice, and then the first team to toss a ball through the gold hoop and into the round catching thing wins the match.

This video from Kod*lab is essentially a demonstration of all the different ways that Minitaur can bounce around adorably:

We don’t just share the road with other vehicles. We share the road with people as they walk, run and bike to their destinations. Our autonomous car system, Asimov, is designed to treat people differently than cars, because they move differently. Torc’s number one priority has always been safety. While navigating traffic, the safest decision may require assertive driving. However, we always take a cautious approach toward pedestrians.
This video shows real situations that our self-driving car encountered with people on public roads. You’ll see our car stop for a person stepping off a crowded sidewalk into the street right in front of us. We shift over to provide space for a person walking in the bicycle lane. Our self-driving car predicts pedestrian movement to safely yield at crosswalks, stopping to allow people to cross before they even enter, or slowly passing by when it is finally determined that the person plans to wait.

Researchers at the Cluster of Excellence CITEC are investigating human-machine interaction with Pepper, a humanoid robot. The robot’s capabilities include navigation, detection of objects and people, and grasping. Pepper can also learn new movements with the help of a human counterpart. This is not a very exciting video, but consider it a reminder that when you get tired of watching boring human football, super exciting robot football will be happening at RoboCup 2018 in Montreal next week, and it’ll be livestreamed!

Here are some highlights of soft robotics research in Japan, posted by the ISI Laboratory at the University of Tokyo. To understand what these folks are saying, I’d encourage you to turn on YouTube’s auto-translated captions, which are both informative and entertaining.
“It’s like turning the bulging force into the power of the mind.”
Totally.

Robots are designed for speed and precision — but their rigidity has often limited how they’re used. In this illuminating talk, biomedical engineer Giada Gerboni shares the latest developments in “soft robotics,” an emerging field that aims to create nimble machines that imitate nature, like a robotic octopus. Learn more about how these flexible structures could play a critical role in surgery, medicine and our daily lives.

Many artificial intelligence researchers expect AI to outsmart humans at all tasks and jobs within decades, enabling a future where we’re restricted only by the laws of physics, not the limits of our intelligence. MIT physicist and AI researcher Max Tegmark separates the real opportunities and threats from the myths, describing the concrete steps we should take today to ensure that AI ends up being the best — rather than worst — thing to ever happen to humanity.
