That’s what I’m saying.
It would have been nice if you died back then, too.”

Favourite Apps for the Over-thinkers.
I had been wanting to write something like this for awhile. I have always feel like my thoughts are going in and out way too fast and when I forgot something I just thought seconds ago I feel like something is stuck in my chest. So, I had been typing in my thoughts on my phones. It’s like an outlet to let out my thoughts so they don’t cloud my mind and makes me feel overwhelmed.
So, if you’re an over-thinker like me, I’d recommend these apps that would hopefully help you to sort out your thoughts or just to let it out somewhere. These are the apps for micro-journaling I personally use and love.
P.S : I use an android phone so these are all available on android but I don’t know if it’s available for apple. I got nothing from the developers or anybody and these are purely my opinions ;D
1. Writeaday
Tumblr media
This is my favourite app so far to quickly type in things. It has a very pretty UI, too (colorful yet simple!). The best thing of this app is that there is a widget to put at your home screen to make a new entry. This helps so you don’t have to find the app, open it and then write (that takes too long for me). You can also put tags on your entries to sort them out! This is a simple app and does what it says it does. The downside of the app is that there is no timestamp on your entries but you can get that if you buy the premium version. For now, the free version is good enough for me :)
2. Universal Diary
Tumblr media
This app does what writeaday couldn’t. Its entry are put in a timeline with a timestamp. (This is what I found when I wanted a twitter-like journal app). You can add picture (only one, though) and I use that feature a lot (usually to record my fangirl reaction to a pic or a show). I also used this to journal when I want to write something about a chat, story, or picture I found on the internet but too lazy to print it out and glue to my journal notebook. Actually this app can even record expenses, mood, etc,, but I don’t really use other features than text and picture entry. While its UI is not as pretty as writeaday, it does its job nicely. You can even add a password to it!
While I use both, I usually put thoughts I don’t really want to think about, such as my worries, into writeaday to throw them away from my mind. It helps (a lot!). It’s for things I wouldn’t want to look back to. If I did, maybe just for the fun of it. (for example I have a #kdrama tag in writeaday. I used it just to see how my reaction was to certain scenes or dramas in the future. It’s fun to read when I’m bored.)
My secret wish is for an app that mixes writeaday and universal diary to be made hahaha :)
Other apps I'd recommend is Evernote and Jotterpad. But they’re for ‘larger’ note-taking. That’s it for now and I hope it helps anybody who might need it (or just for fun!) :D

all of my favourites are already listed lmao, but some i didnt see:
- Wonderland by Juno Dawson, (trans author, has a burlesque club apparently?? queen) trans protag, wlw (cw SO many drugs, transphobia, homophobia, sex and sa)
- The Life and Lies of Rukhsana Ali by Sabina Khan, wlw (cw homophobia)
- The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson, multiple trans characters (cw transphobia)
-Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani (okay fine this is a manga series), mlm protagonist, wlw and trans side characters (cw homophobia, transphobia)
I am impulsively checking out all the wlw books my library has, any reccomendations for queer books in general?
I am so sorry I literally just forgot every book I ever read
It Goes Like This by ??? Moreland about a bunch of queer kids who formed a band, the main characters are two sapphics pining over each other, a bisexual who's just vibing and watching the aforementioned sapphics' drama, and a nonbinary person who is honestly just Tired of the other three (but loves them)
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas about a latino trans boy who wants his family to accept him as a brujo instead of a bruja so he summons a ghost and they're solving a murder mystery and those bitches gay good for them
Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. Ummmm major CW for this one, main character is taken into sex slavery with the king along with eight or so other girls. She falls in love with one of them and revolution ensues.
Symptoms of Being Human by ??? Garvin, about a closted genderfluid teenager who writes blog posts about their gender and Struggles™ in high school. Written by a cis guy and kinda iffy but it was the first time I ever saw genderfluidity written semi-realistically
Dykes To Watch Out For by Allison Bechdel is what I'm reading at the moment and it's just a cartoon about a bunch of lesbians starting in the late 1980s and following them for decades. Entertaining and also good for like learning history and shit.
Girl From The Sea by Molly Ostertog (?). Graphic novel, closeted lesbian falls in love with a selkie.
Not Your Sidekick, don't remember the author's name. Queer supervillains.

today i'm thinking about how cotton got home after everything that happened. like, frost queen easily could have magicked her back, but... cotton had to travel hundreds of miles away, the furthest from home she'd probably ever been, had a near-death experience, held her dead friend in her arms, (who, bee tee dubs, got 'tricked ya!' by death and then immediately had that hope ripped away), learned the secrets of the universe- and then what? the story cuts off at frost queens disappearance. cotton just had to brush herself off and turn around. time to go home.
