ooh. okay, so idk how unpopular this is, but I mean, I don’t even like it lmao so here goes.

I think that Touya would only be willing to hurt you if it meant he thought that he was protecting you from something that would hurt you more. Like, when he realizes that things aren’t likely going to end well for him, he would try to get you to leave, because he wouldn’t have it in him to leave you and actually stay away. He’d need to make it so that he had no chance of coming back to you. He would never put hands on you or anything, but he’d say something terrible or make you think he’d cheated on you—or even straight up cheat & let you catch him. He’d hate every second of it and hate himself for it, but he hates himself anyway, so he figures he’ll deal. He just tells himself that it’s for the best and he truly believes that it’s the best option for you, because you’re not safe with him and he has a hard time wrapping his head around a future past achieving his goals, while he can see yours crystal clear. He wishes he could be part of it, but he doesn’t know if he’ll make it, so he’d rather spare you the heartache and give you a fighting chance at normalcy.

Absolutely tries to win you back anyway, because he really can’t stay away once he’s attached to someone. He can’t close that door. Even if he burns it down, he’d comes back to the site of the ashes to begin for forgiveness.
