I think Miss Sherlock has one of the best written Reichenbach ending i have ever seen (Spoilers of course!!). Sure things were stolen from BBC Sherlock but actually they leveled them up and made them better. And all those changes leaded to me actually believing that Sherlock was dead (even though i know Sherlock never dies at Reichenbach).
1. John being emotional manipulated to be the one killing Sherlock was amazing. Also this situation leaded to Wato standing directly by Shelocks side when she jumped. So there was actually no place for tricks to fool Wato or anybody else. Including people screaming in terror and the dective directly takes a look at Sherlock, seconds after she jumped.
2. Mycroft is not potrayed as the super rich super powered human like he is in BBC. There is never a hint that he could somehow made Sherlock survive the fall with his money and his power.
3. The woman who blames Sherlock for the deadly virus mirrors the little girl in BBC Sherlock who screams when she sees Sherlock. But Miss Sherlock handled it a lot better. It was allways a little bit unrealistic for me that in BBC Sherlock a traumatized little girl and a newspaper article (Moriaty is only an actor) is enough to make Sherlock a haunted man. In Miss Sherlock not only does a full grown woman blames Sherlock. She also commits suicide while Sherlock stands aside to make Sherlock into a criminal, ending with Sherlock shooting Watos boyfriend in front of police forces and then running away. It was like the producer watched BBC Sherlock season 2 finale and said: We can do it like this but better.”
4. There is no long mouring speech or a funeral like BBC Sherlock and RDJ A game of shadows did. There was no: In your face, (s)he is dead! Believe us (s)he is dead for real this time!” scene. No instead everyone moves on with their lives, including Wato. Like Shelock was just a short break in their live. And as a viewer you can not imagne how they will now reveal that Sherlock is still alive
5. The stair parallel. That was the moment i thought Sherlock was really dead. Where Wato walks down the stairs alone that she and Sherlock walked up together in epsiode 1. This adaptation lives from subtle hints and this one was one that really said: She is dead! The show is over now!”
6. The ending. They didn’t showed Sherlocks face with dramatic music like they did in BBC or RDJ. Instead we hear just shoes clacking and that’s it but we all know what it means

If i desperately need to watch a show with a gay jewish detective but cant commit to 200+ eps do you have a list of recs for episodes of murdoch mysteries im weak for gays in period dramas
Just know getting into it that they don’t really focus on either of these things in the show (currently only one episode where he discovers he’s jewish and a brief mention in another ep +  he’s confirmed gay three seasons after he’s introduced) BUT even minus being a gay and jewish icon Watts is still the best character and he’s been acting gay since he was introduced lol
It’s week by week mysteries though so honestly you can tune in whenever and you won’t be lost. Watts is introduced in season 10 and I’ve included and italicized all the episodes he’s in below. The show is great not just for Watts though so if you want to get more into it without watching all the episodes here are some from each season that hit more major plot points or are just super good in our opinion:
Season 1
1x01 Power
1x05 Till Death Do us Part (also gay)
1x08 Still Waters
1x13 The Annoying Red Planet
Season 2
2x05 The Green Muse
2x06 Shades of Grey
2x07 Big Murder on Campus
2x13 Anything You Can Do?
Season 3
3x01 The Murdoch Identity
3x03 Victor, Victorian
3x05 Me, Myself and Murdoch
3x06  This One Goes to Eleven (James Pendrick x Murdoch is my favourite non-canon ship on this show tbh)
3x07 Blood and Circuses
3x08 Future Imperfect
3x12 In the Altogether
3x13 The Tesla Effect
Season 4
4x03 Buffalo Shuffle
4x06 Dead End Street
4x13 Murdoch in Wonderland
Season 5
5x01 Murdoch of the Klondike
5x03 Who Killed the Electric Carriage?
5x07 Stroll on the Wild Side pt. 1
5x08 Stroll on the Wild Side pt. 2
5x09 Invention Convention
5x11 Murdoch in Toyland
5x13 Twentieth Century Murdoch
Season 6
6x01 Murdoch Air
6x04 A Study in Sherlock
6x13 Crime & Punishment
6x13 The Murdoch Trap
Season 7
7x03 The Filmed Adventures of William Murdoch (only watch this if you end up caring about pendrick as much as we do or like sillier episodes lol)
7x04 The Return of Sherlock
7x08 Republic of Murdoch
7x09 Midnight Train to Kingston (only if you like Gillies)
7x16 Kung Fu Crabtree
7x18 The Death of Dr. Ogden
Season 8
8x04 Holy Matrimony Murdoch
8x07 What Lies Buried
8x12 The Devil Wears Whalebone (Emily Grace x Lillian Moss, a canon wlw couple starts here -Lillian is in 8x08 and 8x10 but she doesn’t play a huge role. I’m not including all their eps cause their interactions are brief and skippable in most)
8x14 Toronto’s Girl Problem
Season 9
9x03 Double Life
9x05 24 Hours to Doomsday (again only if you like Pendrick)
9x07 Summer of ‘75
9x10 The Big Chill
Season 10
10x04 Concocting a Killer (Watts introduction episode!!!)
10x05 Jagged Little Pill

10x18 Hell to Pay
Season 11

The lovely @soclosebutyetsofar and I went a little crazy the other night, discussing some theories about 9-1-1 Lone Star’s episodes 1x07 and 1x08. We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether we’re master detectives or just nut jobs. Without further ado, let’s all embrace our inner Sherlocks and get some theories out there.
a/n: This is in no way supposed to be a character bashing. We honestly love Carlos (who doesn’t?) but it is a little suspicious how “perfect” he is. We don’t know much about him yet.
Episode 1x07: “Bum Steer”
From Executive Producer Tim Minear we know that Carlos might not be as perfect as he seems. (Let’s be honest, this had to come up at some point, right? We all know nobody’s perfect and Carlos has been way too close those past four episodes. Not that we’d want him to have a dark secret but it makes it waaay more interesting.) Anyways, what could it be? This thing that makes Carlos less perfect. We have two theories about that:
Theory 1: Carlos is involved in Iris’s disappearance
We don’t think that he’s the culprit and has abducted her or something similar (that would be a plot twist, though, folks, but y’all know: when in doubt … yada yada yada). But let’s face the possibility that he helped Iris disappear! As a cop he has the ressources and the access to a) do just that without it being all too obvious and b) keep an eye on the investigation.  As a friend to Michelle, he always knows where she’s at with her investigations so that in case she comes too close to uncovering the truth, he can do something about it. Maybe that’s the reason they became friends in the first place…? Here are some hints:
In episode one when he picks Michelle up from Dustin’s he tells her that she can’t keep doing this to herself and that she has to get out of this rut. Seems like he’s caring for her right? But what if this is actually just a front? What if he really doesn’t want her to continue investigating because he’s afraid his cover’ll blow?
When Michelle and Carlos have lunch in 1x02 she tells Carlos about her new findings (that the neighbour of Dustin saw Iris get picked up in a blue pickup truck, he says “That’s huge” but doesn’t seem very enthusiastic. Furthermore, he asks for details (“Was ist a man or a woman driving, one or two people?”) Afraid you were spotted, Carlos? Carlos then also doubts that the man saw the colour correctly (“He could tell that for sure in the dark across the street?”). When Michelle is hurt he’s not as excited about it as she is, he says that he doesn’t want her to get her hopes too high - good cover, Carlos -  and that literally a quarter of the vehicles on the roads in Texas are pickup trucks. Why so evasive, Carlos? It’s a little suspicious, little fishy, don’t you think? Then to deflect her from the topic he tells a story about his aunt visiting a curandera who can probably help her as well as he can. Do you actually want to help your friend to find her sister, Carlos?
Then in 1x03 Carlos gives Michelle a long ass list with blue pickup trucks registered in the greater Austin metroplex at that time. Seems nice, right but it’s not really helpful either. At least it looks like he made an effort. To be fair, he does give her a helpful advice (go and see Dustin and find out what he knows). Then he reflects again by talking about the TK situation. (Though we honestly do believe that he wants to talk about it)
To support this theory: the press release for 1x07 states that “Michelle gets the strongest lead yet  on her missing sister”. In addition, it is called “Bum Steer” which refers to a piece of false information or unhelpful guidance. Is Carlos maybe feeding her false information and tries to sabotage her? To cover up that he’s involved in it?
Episode titles often have multiple meanings (e.g. episode 1x05 “Studs”) but with all the hints mentioned above this could be a possible interpretation. At the end of episode 7 Michelle finds out that Carlos has been lying to her and then … cliffhanger. Episode 8 picks up right where episode 7 left of. Michelle finally learns the truth behind her sister’s disappearance. It would be congruent with Ronen saying that episode 8 contains a major turn of events. You see what we’re getting at?
If it’s not theory 1, we’d say that whatever it is, Michelle knows about it, seeing as she and Carlos are such good friends.
Theory 2: He has an ex hubby he hasn’t divorced yet/ a boyfriend on the other side of the world/ he’s a widower or lost his boyfriend some time ago
Having lost a boyfriend/husband is probably the most likely solution and definitely the least dick-like solution of these options (and he doesn’t seem like someone who would cheat). It would explain why he’s so caring so quickly and shows boyfriend-ish behaviour right from the start (the dinner, him offering to drive TK to work). To us, though, it wouldn’t explain why he’d be less perfect having experienced something like that? Maybe he develops overbearing/overprotective tendencies or paranoia and starts clinging? We haven’t seen it yet though and if that was the case we’d have seen it already we reckon.
Maybe he was married to his highschool sweetheart and they split but didn’t get a divorce? Would be kinda shitty but nothing inexcusable.
Episode 1x08: “Monster Inside”
So, in episode 8 a “tragic accident shakes the team to its core”. What could that be? Or rather who. To make a guess: Something happens to TK. Not knowing about his past addiction/ TK being a recovering addict, Michelle or a doctor or whoever, gives TK strong pain meds that cause him to relapse. The “Monster Inside” would be his addiction. We really hope it’s not TK suffering from the accident (protect him at all costs!) but tbh it’d fit to the title of the episode. Again, the title has probably multiple meanings but an addiction could certainly be a “monster” and an accident can cause the monster to wake up.
That’s it. What do you think? And also happy valentines day!

“[Sherlock’s] deductions, her igenius... they’re nothing without our investigations.” -- Inspector Reimon to Shibata in 1x08
this is? such an interesting basis for this dynamic??
because we know that shibata gets annoyed when reimon lets sherlock have a go at first because he sees her presence as reimon undermining him and the police. and while we know that reimon is occasionally worried that if they look first, they’ll miss something she would have been able to notice and have spent precious time because of their pride, that’s... rare.
this version of lestrade doesn’t wait for sherlock to show up, they’ve usually started at the very least covering the bases by the time she’s invited, and even when she’s doing her Thing, shibata and reimon are seen also actively investigating other angles, the ones the badge is a help rather than an obstacle. clearly, they’re usually more than capable of solving cases on their own, even it’d be slower or make them go through more hoops than it would be with sherlock around
and the idea that she’s called there for her benefit is so?? interesting?? so so ridiculously in character for this Big Dad Energy version of lestrade that reimon is. that she’s called not necessarily because the police are incompetent and could not function without her, but because reimon recognises that what sherlock has---between the way her brain works, her ability to process and link things at a pace few others can, her understanding of criminal psychology---is unique and requires stimulus, and because he knows this is one of the best ways she can have that in a way that helps her feel like she’s making a difference.
there’s not a doubt in my mind that when reimon went to his superiors with the idea of a ‘investigative consultant’ on cases, he drew the image of a civilian asset, but knowing it’s first and foremost genuinely about wanting her to live a fulfilling life makes me feel warm.
