It was my sole duty to distract Lestat, but in his mirrored eyes, the distraction reflected back onto me. And in the dead center of the whispering gallery, I lost the thread to my plotting and fell once more into the well with no bottom. I was his, and he was mine.

This is the end he wanted us to see!!! Yes, they’re blood soaked, but they’re both upright and still in costume!! There’s a dignified grace and a solitary tear glistening in Louis’ eye!!!! This was supposed to be the final moment of their love story as told by Louis The Narrator…
Here’s their actual final moment:
Agony. On the floor. Down to his undershirt. No grace, no dignity, just howling his lungs out. He couldn’t show us this, he didn’t want to tell us this.

I’m a little sad though because this is the turning point for Louis and Claudia’s relationship. He proved it by putting his hands on her that she’ll never be enough [just like he’s not/wasn’t enough for Lestat]. The cycle continues and it probably played out in those pages he ripped out of yet another diary.
