As brilliant as Phryne is, she sometimes does get stumped. What we love about her is that she is not too proud to draw inspirations from others, including her maid/companion/assistant detective Dot. Moreover, she gives credit where credit is due. Dot may not know exactly how she has helped, but later when Phryne says “Dot gave me the idea” in front of everyone, it must have boosted her confidence tremendously.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries for #moviemonday After World War I, Miss Phryne Fisher has soared to an unexpected inheritance while others have fallen. Set in 1920s Melbourne, Australia, Miss Fisher uses her newfound wealth to enjoy life to the fullest, all the while investigating gruesome murders and inexplicable crimes that occur. Sometimes while she's in the same building, others that people search her out to solve as she becomes known as the 'lady detective'. Phryne has a wit and charm about her that absolutely beguiling, especially when Inspector Jack Robinson is around. There's a chemistry between their characters that has literally made me yell at the TV for them to kiss already 😅 Dot and Hugh are sweet, Mr. Butler is an asset beyond compare (and does comedy well), and Cecil and Bert always seem to get roped into odd scenarios. I've truly enjoyed watching this show. It's oddly lighthearted for something involving murder and the whodunnit aspect is fun. Also, despite the fact I would never wear it, I am extremely jealous of Miss Fisher's wardrobe. The second ensemble Phryne wears in "Dead Air" (Season 2, Episode 11) consists of a fabulous dusty pink velvet coat worn over her white blouse and pants, and accessorized with a lovely pink cloche, white leather gloves, jeweled earrings, and maroon heels.

Her fabulous coat is made from a burnt out velvet with a red silk lining. The collar extends down in two matching ties, which Phryne wears one slung across her neck. The pockets and edges of the sleeves consist of ruffles alternating between the main velvet fabric and silk lining. Interestingly, this looks to be the same pattern as the ruffled polka dot coat Phryne wears in season 3, episode 5 - "Death and Hysteria".

Miss Fisher dons her textured velvet coat over her casual at-home outfit, consisting of her light sleeveless boatneck blouse (seen in 1x01, 1x10, 2x08, and earlier in this episode), and her classic white wide-leg silk faille pants. She compliments her look with green teardrop earrings, ringed with other gems near the end, maroon t-strap heels, and her silver art nouveau buckle worn in 1x01, 1x03, twice in 1x06, and earlier in this episode.

Her felt hat was custom made to accompany Phryne's dusty pink velvet coat. The trimming on the hat is seen in 1x07, but on a completely different straw hat base.

Inspired by a reread of @rositalg ‘s ‘Festive Frolics’ and the (still hilarious) coincidence of Chapter 16 with the Chapter 16 of “Yes, And” that I originally drew this piece for. Or as Rosita called it, the psychic chapter.

According to Wikipedia, the “wandering womb” belief was first attested in the medical texts of ancient Greece and persisted for centuries. The concept was popularized by Dr. Edward Jorden in The Suffocation of the Mother (published in 1603), which was the first text on the subjects of the wandering womb and hysteria written in English.

These “medical experts” – all men, of course – believed that a displaced uterus was the cause of many medical pathologies in women. As for why it wandered to begin with, they didn’t really provide any concrete explanation. Basically, that’s just what it did. Mac’s sarcastic remark told us how a female doctor thought of such concept. Officially, both "wandering womb" and "hysteria" are no longer used in medical theories of today, but sadly I can’t help but feel that it still exists in some men’s mind.
