A Haunted Expedition

Having returned to the top floor of the tavern, Haeyin hurried about his room, placing items into an open rucksack that sat on the book-cluttered desk each time he passed it; glass vials of potions, a jar of healing salve, a parchment map. Grabbing a compass off the top of the dresser, he squinted as he inspected it closely, tapping the device a few times as if to check that it still worked, before crossing the room again to store it with the rest of his travelling supplies. Almost ready...

Moving to the center of the floor with his bag in tow, the Salesman extended his arm and snapped his fingers. One by one, an assortment of masks materialized midair in wisps of glittering smoke, encircling Haeyin where he stood. If he would be venturing into Ikana, then he would need to be well prepared.

He tapped his chin, humming thoughtfully as he slowly turned on his heel while surveying his collection. A mask bearing resemblance to a Redead’s mummified face was the first one that he plucked from the air, stashing it gently inside the rucksack. Next, a macabre piece that was decorated with bone, a skull serving to hide the wearers face. A mask of stone and an embellished hood followed suite, with the final selection looking startlingly similar to a Gibdo’s bandaged visage.

Satisfied, Haeyin fastened the bag’s clasp and snapped his fingers again, the remaining masks vanishing just as suddenly as they appeared. He exited the room without a second look back, quietly closing the door behind him. An odd sense of anticipation rose within him as he made his way downstairs. How long had it been since he’d returned to Termina? The longer he thought on the question, the more displeased he became; the bitter truth of it was simply that he didn’t know.

But as he pushed the doors to the tavern open, stepping out onto all too familiar cobbled streets, he found that it was as if he had never left. Haeyin took a deep breath and let it out, a smile stretching across his lips as he adjusted the rucksack on his shoulder. Now.. where was it that he was to meet his travelling companions?

The Butcher Mission

A week back from Rat’s Nest and Willow had already gotten back into her normal routine. Morning workout, breakfast, workout, lunch, workout, dinner, workout, TV. If there was anything she was serious about, it was getting back to where she had been before walking away from it all. The workouts kicked her ass, her migraines kicked her head, and her memory loss was still plaguing her very existence. It was a constant battle to prove herself to not only everyone around her but to herself as well. The rumors about the Butcher being missing was the sort of issue that ate away at Willow’s very core. The mess hall was as ruckus with chatter about the disappearance of the Butcher. Honestly, it was bothering her. Without the Butcher getting Phoenix the necessary weapons they needed there was no telling what would happen. Personally, Willow never used weapons but she understood the importance that her team members who needed them and used them obtained them.

Abruptly, Willow stood up from her table. “I’ll be back.” She interrupted the conversation before her, turned on her heel and marched past the other tables and people who were having the same conversation. If there was anything she hated more was talking about an issue and doing nothing about it. The medic room was full of patients, Gabe interacting with her as she yanked the door open. “Get my records straight and send it to Hijack.” She demanded and then was out of the door. The gym was her next stop where she kicked the door open, pointed to Adam and smirked. “Make an appointment for later today. We are gonna fucking spar again and I’m gonna kick your sexy ass.” And then she was gone. A text to Max was sent about making sure his car had gas or whatever and then a few other texts were sent out to a few other choice people she thought might be handy. It was her last stop that she was most reluctant to go to.

The room was dark but she knew very well that Hijack was waiting for her. He knew everything after all. The screens lit her up with blue light, her hands clutching onto her hips. “Send me out on the mission.” Confidence oozed from her, though she knew this wouldn’t be an easy conversation. “I’m ready. I know I can find the Butcher and bring him back.”

Using $dateFromString and executionStats in Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility)

Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) is a fast, scalable, highly available, and fully managed document database service that supports MongoDB workloads. Amazon DocumentDB makes it easy and intuitive to store, query, and index JSON data. If you are new to Amazon DocumentDB, see Ramping up on Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility). Amazon DocumentDB continues to improve compatibility with MongoDB. As of this writing, Amazon DocumentDB has added support for two new capabilities: $dateFromString, which is an aggregation pipeline operator that allows you to compose powerful aggregations over your documents executionStats mode for explain(), which provides detailed execution statistics for each stage within a query plan. For more information about supported MongoDB APIs and aggregation pipeline capabilities for Amazon DocumentDB, see Supported MongoDB APIs, Operations, and Data Types. This post discusses use cases for $dateFromString and executionStats, and shows you use to use these new capabilities through code examples. $dateFromString The $dateFromString aggregation operator enables you to convert a date in string form into a DATE data type. $dateFromString is the inverse operation of $dateToString. To understand how $dateFromString works, this post uses an example dataset that records the date and time of events that occur within a video game. Although the video game logs events as strings, your application must be able to analyze the event field as a DATE data type. To perform the conversion from string to date, use the $dateToString aggregation operator. Difficult Levels

When you achieve the later levels, you’ll notice that it takes multiple shots tokill the animal that you’re hunting. To do a single-shot kill, you’ll need toupgrade your gun with more power or get better at hitting critical spots on theanimal. Otherwise you’ll have to reload and shot multiple times.

Duck Hunt

The quickest and easiest way to successfully shoot the ducks when doing thecontract hunting work is to establish the general direction the bird is flying andthen move your gun sights a little ahead of it’s flight path. You can then firewhen it flies though your cross-hairs. Don’t worry if you don’t hit the duck deadcenter, all that matters is that you strike within the general hit window. It’s alittle like “leading” the target, but it doesn’t take long in the game to get the hit.

Infrared

There will be certain missions that you will need to have the infrared poweractivated as they will involve shooting an animal in the vital organs. The heartsits in the middle, and the lungs are either side of the heart. Before a missionstarts make a point of double checking the objective.

Upgrade Recommendations

Sometimes it is better to listen to the game’s recommendations on what to upgrade. You should resist the urge to upgrade just one thing at a time, as it makes othermissions tougher. A list of suggested upgrades will appear before you go on ahunt, work towards getting these.

Quick Energy Meter Refill

Sometimes it takes way too long for the energy meter to refill, and you don’t wantto wait. If you need it refilled quickly, you can use some of the gold bars thatyou earn to top it up immediately. But only do it when you have spare gold -because you’ll need the bars later in the game.
