since ive regularly needed these reminders over the past month or so since i quit: not working is completely morally neutral. everyone deserves respect and dignity regardless of employment status. ones ability to work should not determine their worth etc etc. i love my unemployed baddies

sonic and shadow’s dynamic is so fucking funny so far their interactions in prime have consisted of shadow punching sonic in the face and shadow repeatedly yelling through the void for sonic to focus only for sonic to get distracted by smth like five seconds later. shaking them up and down repeatedly you are both so bad at communication

Law/MJ WIP
He didn’t like going out. No more than he needed to at least. Any interaction with a living person was one interaction too much for him to be comfortable with. People were volatile. Ugly. And far far too unpredictable. He would know. He knows all too well. Knew well of the rot in all of them. He preferred the rot.
He didn’t like going out, but it was unfortunately necessary. Scanning through metal shelves haphazardly put together metal shelves, he searches for whatever is available for food that day. He considers eating better, briefly, for a moment. If he was regular, or if he cared, he might.
There’s a ring behind him. A shrill note indicating another customer. Sudden aching quiet followed. The near silent shuffling of other customers ceases completely. He sees employees giving each-other knowing looks from his peripheral. Something begs attention. He looks up, instinctively. Someone decently larger than the door-frame lumbers into the dingy little gas station. He remains hunched over after having to duck under the frame. Skeletal and daunt. Pale like a ghost, skin having a sort of waxy translucence to them, like he had never seen a lick of sun in his life. The clothes he wore were loose and did nothing to hide his emaciated frame, or the multitudes of ink and metal that adorned his body. He looked like death. He looked like a corpse. And he was beautiful. The attendants and customers didn’t look at him the same. Sure they looked at him like he was a shambling corpse, but it was not with reverence. It was disgust. Hatred. There was malice in their gaze. Like they were looking at something demonic in nature. As if the man had burned and murdered their loved ones in front of him. As if he had done something truly heinous. The man accidentally meets their gazes before quickly cutting it off. Focusing instead on the ground below. Meek was the word that came to mind. Laughable considering the size and appearance of the man. Intimidating. Even while slouched and thinned.
His presence was entrancing to him. He moved slowly. Lumbering like a elk through the aisles of the dimly lit grunge bucket. Weirdly graceful. Peaceful in the most unsettling way. He didn’t belong here. All eyes followed him. Even Lawrence's. He commanded attention, albeit unwanted and unwilling. Not a kind attention. Attention you would give to a mountain lion lingering outside your home. Prey acknowledgment. It fascinates Lawrence even more. Blue meets blue. For a split moment. The mans eyes lock with his and its….
Shock rackets up Lawrence's spine. The smell of dense weathered hearth, smoke, and bone floods his senses. For a moment hes under water. Back there, in blissful nothingness. Dunked under the cold still current of the river. Then. Its gone. Hes pulled up just as quickly once they eye contact is cut off. What. What was that?
There’s something. Something more there. There’s more to the man than what is on the surface. He felt it call to him in that split moment where their gazes met. Fuck. If only he could bring himself to get closer.

i just rbed a post about something similar but. i need my white disabled to folks to be more aware of the privileges they have when navigating the healthcare system. every bit of medical ableism one can experience can be made even worse by being a poc. some of us can't threaten to report a doctor to the ethics board, or refuse care from healthcare workers who aren't masking, without jeopardizing our access to care in general or even our physical safety. we are more likely to be seen as drug seeking, or marked as noncompliant, or experience medical abuse and neglect. that's not to say these things don't happen to white disabled people, but i just think it's important to recognize how dangerous receiving medical care can be for disabled poc specifically. please keep this in mind when giving advice on navigating healthcare.

i genuinely think it should be illegal to purposefully give someone food or drink with something they didn't ask for. no adding dairy milk, no lying about gluten, no giving regular vs diet soda, no meat in vegetarian/vegan food, none of it. that shit can make people so sick, and in some cases its literally life threatening. even if it doesn't make someone ill it's still a huge violation of their boundaries. there's a million reasons why people have dietary restrictions and it is not your job to deem them worthy of accomodating or not

it is actually ridiculous how able bodied people think mobility aids work. my physical therapist is hellbent on "getting me off" of my rollator so i can "be more independent" as if my rollator isn't what gives me independence in the first place. without my mobility aids i wouldn't be going anywhere and would be even more dependent on my wife. pt is great and all but it isn't going to cure my chronic fatigue or pain, and i am perfectly content with using mobility aids for the rest of my life if i need to. it isn't a death sentence like some people think it is. lord knows im not finna tell this guy im getting a wheelchair

this might be a hot take but i don't like the sentiment that being disabled doesn't make me a burden. like maybe this is just me but i AM actually a burden. i can't work and can't do many other important things and my wife has to take on that burden (and does so happily). i think what should be said instead is that it's okay to be a burden. humans are meant to lean on each other and take care of each other. it's not a personal or moral failing to need help. but i think just saying "you aren't a burden uwu" will end up making people feel bad because they still feel like a burden even if you say they're not

this shouldn't be a hot take but it really really bothers me that many medical offices don't have the space for mobility aids. it's always so cramped and it's mind boggling to me that they don't factor in mobility aid users when designing these spaces. you know. the spaces that chronically ill people have to go to regularly
this also isn't exclusive to doctors offices. im at the dentist and have 0 room to put my rollator which means people are going to have to touch it to move it which i hate. we have to get our teeth cleaned and eyes checked too please fix this shit
