How Can Companies Optimize ROI by Converting Android Apps to iOS (or Vice Versa)?
Optimize ROI by Converting Android Apps to iOS
Tumblr media
Introduction
In today’s mobile-first landscape, companies aiming to maximize their mobile app ROI must consider platform expansion. With Android dominating in user volume and iOS leading in revenue generation, converting your app from Android to iOS (or vice versa) can be a strategic move to reach a broader audience and boost profitability. This blog explores how app conversion can be a growth catalyst, helping businesses lower acquisition costs and increase user engagement across platforms.
Understanding Android to iOS App Conversion (or Vice Versa)
App conversion refers to the process of adapting an existing mobile application to operate on a different platform. Whether moving from Android to iOS or the reverse, this process involves more than just copying code. It includes reworking the UI/UX, adapting to platform-specific APIs, and ensuring functional parity across devices. Successful app conversion demands expertise in both Android and iOS app development to maintain performance and user satisfaction.
Top Reasons to Convert Android Apps to iOS (or Vice Versa)
Reach a wider audience: Tap into new user segments by expanding your presence to another platform.
Increase revenue potential: iOS users typically have higher lifetime value, while Android's larger user base can fuel ad-driven revenue models.
Improve brand presence: Being available on both platforms builds credibility and trust with users.
Maximize previous investments: Reusing assets and backend systems speeds up time-to-market and reduces development costs.
How App Conversion Improves ROI
Tumblr media
Converting your app allows you to scale without starting from scratch, which significantly lowers development costs. The ability to reach more users boosts installs, engagement, and revenue. Moreover, a cross-platform presence strengthens brand authority and opens doors to new monetization opportunities, like in-app purchases or subscriptions, ultimately maximizing return on investment.
Key Challenges in Mobile App Platform Conversion
UI/UX differences: iOS and Android have distinct design languages (Material vs. Human Interface Guidelines).
Technical variations: Differences in programming languages (Java/Kotlin for Android vs. Swift/Objective-C for iOS).
Third-party integration compatibility: Not all libraries and SDKs work identically across platforms.
Testing requirements: Each platform has its own device ecosystem and app store policies.
Steps to Successfully Convert Your Mobile App
Audit existing app code and features
Choose the right development approach (native or cross-platform)
Redesign UI/UX to fit the new platform standards
Adapt backend APIs and third-party services
Test extensively across devices and OS versions
Deploy to the relevant app store with optimized listings
Tools & Technologies for App Conversion
Flutter: Ideal for creating a single codebase for both platforms
Kotlin Multiplatform: Enables code sharing between Android and iOS
React Native: Popular framework for cross-platform mobile development
Xamarin: Microsoft-backed tool for .NET-based apps
Choosing the right tech stack depends on performance needs, UI complexity, and existing code structure.
Cost Estimation & ROI Forecasting
Tumblr media
App conversion is typically more cost-effective than building a new app from scratch. Factors affecting cost include app complexity, UI redesign, and backend changes. Companies should calculate potential ROI by comparing conversion cost with projected increase in user acquisition, engagement, and revenue across the new platform.
Case Studies: App Conversion Success Stories
Example 1: A retail app that expanded from iOS to Android and saw a 40% increase in monthly active users
Example 2: A SaaS product that moved from Android to iOS, leading to a 30% boost in in-app purchases These examples showcase how strategic app conversion can result in measurable growth.
Tips to Maximize ROI After Converting Your App
Invest in App Store Optimization (ASO) for visibility
Launch targeted marketing campaigns on the new platform
Monitor analytics closely to track engagement and retention
Solicit user feedback to continuously refine the app experience
Conclusion
Converting your Android app to iOS or vice versa is not just a technical decision—it's a business strategy. When done right, it can significantly enhance user reach, reduce development overhead, and boost ROI. By partnering with an experienced app development company like CQLsys Technologies, you can ensure a smooth transition and unlock new growth opportunities across platforms.

Double Your App Revenue on Android & iOS
In the mobile app world, a well-known rule of thumb has been circulating for years:
Android accounts for roughly 70% of installs, while iOS generates about 70% of the revenue.
This simple statement reflects deep differences in user behavior and market dynamics between the two platforms. For many app developers, this raises a critical challenge:
How can you leverage Android’s massive user base while still capitalizing on iOS’s higher monetization potential?
Enter CastarSDK — a silent monetization tool designed to unlock revenue from both Android and iOS users without compromising user experience.
Tumblr media
Why Does Android Account for Most Installs but Less Revenue?
Android dominates global market share, especially in emerging markets like India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Its flexible app distribution and lower entry barriers make it ideal for driving high install volumes at a relatively low cost.
However, Android users tend to have lower willingness to pay. Traditional monetization via ads can generate revenue, but often at the cost of user experience—ads can be intrusive and reduce retention.
Why Does iOS Bring in the Majority of Revenue?
iOS users generally have higher purchasing power and are more willing to pay for subscriptions and in-app purchases. Apple’s seamless payment system and curated ecosystem also help boost conversion rates.
But with slowing user growth and fierce competition, iOS developers are also seeking additional revenue streams beyond subscriptions.
How CastarSDK Creates Additional Revenue on Both Platforms
CastarSDK is a non-intrusive, silent-running SDK that taps into users’ idle network bandwidth to generate passive income — without showing ads or disrupting the app experience.
Key benefits include:
No ads, no pop-ups, no interruptions.
Works seamlessly on both Android and iOS.
Creates a steady, passive revenue stream independent of user payments.
Privacy-friendly and compliant with app store policies.
Real-World Results
Apps integrating CastarSDK report significant extra revenue:
On Android, previously hard-to-monetize installs now produce consistent passive income.
On iOS, CastarSDK supplements subscription revenue, diversifying income without affecting user engagement.
One utility app with millions of users earned thousands of dollars monthly from bandwidth monetization post-integration — all while maintaining excellent user retention and experience.
Recommendations for Developers
On Android, focus on user growth and natural installs while leveraging CastarSDK for silent monetization—avoiding intrusive ads that hurt retention.
On iOS, continue optimizing subscriptions and in-app purchases but use CastarSDK to diversify revenue and increase overall lifetime value (LTV).
Final Thoughts
The “Android drives installs, iOS drives revenue” rule highlights important platform differences. The smartest developers harness these differences with tailored strategies—and tools like CastarSDK that help monetize both platforms sustainably.
If you want to unlock hidden revenue from your Android user base and boost income from iOS without annoying your users, CastarSDK is worth a close look.

How Fraudsters Manipulate App Installs and What Marketers Can Do About It?
Mobile apps are big business and the same is apparent through the significant advertising budgets dedicated to increasing app installs. In 2022 alone, advertisers spent more than $18 billion on advertising their apps to drive more installs. This makes the app install advertising business lucrative.
Unfortunately, this lure also attracts bad actors and frauds. That’s perhaps why, today, app install fraud is one of the most common forms of ad fraud in the online realm. According to our analysis, we have found that on IOS, the average fraud at the install level is 57% which rapidly increases to 70% on Android devices.
Fraudsters use fake app installs to steal from advertising budgets. The financial impact of this, while significant, is only a small part of all the trouble caused for the advertisers as a result of these activities. What’s more troublesome is that fraudsters are evolving their methods and employing sophisticated methods to carry out their fraudulent activities.
In times like these, advertisers need to start ahead of the curve to protect their ad budgets. To do this, one must first understand how app install fraud works and that’s exactly what the next section describes. Read on.
The Hidden Tactics Behind Install Fraud
While it may seem like app install fraud is a single threat, the reality is much more complex. Fraudsters utilize several simple and complex methods to fake installs and steal from advertisers’ budgets. Here’s a quick overview of the most common methods employed by app install fraudsters:
– Click Injection:
This is one of the most sophisticated forms of app install fraud. To execute this, fraudsters publish an app that “listens” for app download broadcasts. Using this information, they can “inject” a click right before an app install is completed. This allows fraudsters to claim the credit for the app install despite not contributing anything to make it happen.
– Click Spamming:
Click spamming is usually employed to target campaigns where advertisers are paying for clicks on their ads. As the name suggests, fraudsters generate a large number of fake clicks, usually using bots, and claim the rewards. However, the advertiser unfortunately ends up paying for clicks that will not result in any genuine interest or installs of their application.
– Organic Hijacking:
Another sophisticated form of app install fraud; organic hijacking works by stealing the credit of organic installs. Fraudsters employ malware or other methods to send a fake click right before an app download is completed, claiming the credit for the app installs, along with the associated reward.
– Incent traffic:
This type of app install fraud is one of the most difficult to detect, as it uses real users to scam advertisers. In this type of fraud, fraudsters place ads on incent walls and incentivize real users to download an application and in some cases, complete an action that claims the reward. In many cases, fraudsters straight out share a part of their affiliate payout with the user. While there are real users involved and the app download is also authentic, since the user is only interested in the reward, the entire activity doesn’t drive any value for the advertiser.
– SDK Spoofing:
With SDK Spoofing, fraudsters usually use a malware-laced app of their own to infect user devices. This app then manipulates the SDK communication of the advertisers’ apps to generate fake installs and register other actions that may be rewarded by the advertiser. Alarmingly, such an activity is extremely difficult to track and can be conducted indefinitely, effectively draining entire ad budgets without delivering any real value.
But Aren’t Fraud Checks by MMPs Enough?

Is App Development Casy in Flutter?
Whether you know it or not, you have been using Flutter apps in your daily lives.
From shopping from Alibaba to making swift and secure payments using Google Pay and running ad campaigns on Google ads, all powered by Flutter.
Most of us did not know that.
Flutter has made cross-platform app development easier than ever. It has been powering many brands across platforms and devices. Its popularity says it all.
Tumblr media
In August 2024, Flutter released its latest version Flutter 3.24 with a Dart 3.5 update. The new updates have not only improved the app development experience but also introduced advanced features to elevate the user interface and improve the app’s versatility.
As a Flutter enthusiast, I have been in awe of its beauty, simplicity, and performance.
If you truly ask why we as a OnGraph Flutter professionals prefer it anytime. Let’s explore the reasons for what makes Flutter unique and how it streamlines app development.
What is Flutter?
Flutter is a widely used cross-platform app framework developed by Google. It allows developers to build apps for mobile, desktop, and web using just a single codebase. Flutter is an all-rounder tool for every app developer. A Flutter is-
Library: A piece of reusable code for specific tasks.
Framework: A base structure for building apps, where you add your own code.
SDK: A full set of tools, including libraries and documentation, needed to create software.
Flutter is an SDK, so it provides everything you need to build apps across different platforms. Other tools like Xamarin, React Native, and Ionic also help with cross-platform app development.
Flutter SDK
We can simply say that Flutter is a full-stack SDK, consisting of a rendering engine, pre-built widgets, testing, third-party integration APIs, and much more?
Tumblr media
Source
Flutter has three main parts:
Embedder: This part makes sure the app runs on any operating system, like iOS or Android, using platform-specific code.
Engine: This is written in C/C++. It takes care of the core functions needed for the app, such as drawing graphics, handling text, managing files and networks, supporting accessibility, and running Dart code.
Framework: This part is built with Dart, a programming language from Google. It includes a lot of libraries and tools for creating apps. It has basic classes, tools for rendering graphics, widgets (pre-made building blocks for apps), and design libraries for both Android and iOS.
Flutter uses Dart because it can directly turn into native code (code that runs directly on a device) or JavaScript (for web apps).
This makes Flutter apps start faster and run more smoothly compared to some other tools.
Widgets in Flutter are the pieces you use to build your app’s interface. You can use the pre-made widgets that Flutter provides or make your own.
Flutter also has tools for testing and debugging apps. It supports continuous delivery with tools like Fastlane and integrates with popular CI systems.
What to Expect from Flutter 3.24 Version?
New Flutter GPU API: An early preview of a powerful, low-level graphics API is introduced, allowing developers to create custom raster pipelines and submit draw calls directly to the GPU.
flutter_scene Package: A new package leveraging the Flutter GPU API for importing animated glTF models and constructing 3D scenes.
iOS and macOS Improvements:
Early support for Swift Package Manager, enabling access to the Swift package ecosystem.
Modernization and expansion of the Cupertino widget library, with 15 issues resolved and 37 new widgets added.
Platform view and web view support added for Flutter macOS apps.
Community Contributions: The release includes almost 1,500 commits from over 167 unique contributors, including 49 new contributors.
Real-world Impact: Highlighted several companies using Flutter for significant applications, including Xiaomi, SNCF Connect, Wolt, Whirlpool, and Monta.
Impeller Progress: Substantial progress was made with the Impeller and shaders, unlocking new possibilities in graphics, including 3D rendering.
Ongoing Development: The Flutter team is committed to further improvements, including additional Cupertino widget fidelity and better integration with Apple's platforms.
These advanced features and improvements have made Flutter an easy-going option for smooth and efficient app development.
Let’s explore other key reasons to choose Flutter for the next app development project in 2024.
What Makes Flutter an Easy Option for App Development?
Here are some reasons.
Flutter Widgets for Quick UI Design
Flutter uses pre-made widgets to build user interfaces. You could say Flutter is all about widgets.
This makes it easy to create UIs because everything in Flutter is a widget—buttons, padding, fonts, and more.
You can mix and match widgets to design layouts using its ready-made widgets. You can either create your design from scratch for more control.
All widgets are organized in a tree structure that can help with rendering. But, if you have a complex app, things can get complex, so you must plan your code accordingly.

You can integrate Flutter’s widgets within Android’s Material Design and Apple’s Cupertino style to develop more customizable apps.
Dart Programming Language – Simple and Effective for Java Programmers
Dart is a modern programming language that looks similar to Java or C++. It is easy to learn because it supports both strong and weak typing. Dart plays a key role in Flutter. Here’s why it’s important:
Compilation Types: Dart uses two types of compilation. During development, it uses Just-in-Time (JIT) compilation, which speeds up testing because you can quickly switch between writing and running your code. For final app releases, Dart uses Ahead-of-Time (AOT) compilation, which makes the app load faster by converting code to native machine code beforehand.
No XML Files: In Android development, you separate layout and code, using XML files for layout and Java code for functionality. Dart simplifies this by combining layout and code into one place. In Flutter, everything is a widget, so layouts are created directly in Dart.
No Intermediate Bridges: Dart compiles directly to native code. This is different from tools like React Native, which use a JavaScript bridge to connect with native features. This bridge can slow things down and make debugging harder. Dart’s direct compilation makes Flutter faster and more efficient.
Easy to Learn and Well-Supported
If you know Dart, learning Flutter is simple. Even beginners have successfully built apps with it, and you don’t need prior mobile development experience.
Google provides clear documentation, video tutorials, and hands-on exercises on Codelabs.
There are also many courses on Udemy and Udacity, plus you can join Facebook groups and Slack channels for extra support.
Flutter Community for Support
However, although Flutter has a small market time, still it has a growing user base and supportive community. They work consistently to improve it for developers and businesses.
Tumblr media
Source
Not only this, as per Statista, Flutter is one of the loved cross-platform app development platforms and is preferred by 46% of developers.
Google’s Long-Term Support
Flutter is backed by Google, which means it will get ongoing support and updates.
Google uses Flutter itself, so you can expect quick fixes and continued development.
Google is also working on a big project called Google Fuchsia, an open-source operating system.
Flutter is being used to build its UI and apps. This shows that Flutter will likely be supported for a long time.
Hot Reload for Quick Updates
Flutter’s hot reload feature is built into its system. It lets you see changes to your code instantly without restarting the app.
If you find and fix an error, you can apply the fix right away and continue where you left off.
Hot reload improves productivity and speeds up testing. There is also a hot restart option, which restarts the app from scratch and takes a bit longer.
Note that hot reload doesn’t work for web apps with Flutter; you’ll need to use hot restart instead.
High Performance
App performance is measured by factors like CPU usage, request speed, response time, and frame rate.
Flutter aims to deliver a steady 60 frames per second (fps), or 120 fps on high-refresh-rate screens.
In tests, Flutter outperformed Xamarin and React Native. Flutter ran at 58 fps with a 220-millisecond launch time. Xamarin took 345 ms with 53 fps, and React Native had 57 fps with 229 ms.
Flutter is close to native app performance. It’s faster because it compiles code directly, without performance-slowing bridges.
Flutter 3 also introduced a feature that helps optimize memory use based on how complex the graphics are.
Portability
Flutter 3 has expanded from mobile apps to a range of platforms. The same code can now run on iOS, Android, Linux, macOS, and Windows. Google is also working on making Flutter work with cars, TVs, and smart home devices.
Internationalization and Accessibility
Google helps make apps accessible to more people by supporting multiple languages and regions.
Flutter’s built-in widgets use the Dart intl package to handle 78 languages, currencies, date formats, and more. This makes it easier to create apps for a global audience.
Flutter is growing at a fast pace and helping brands and developers with efficient app development.

Why Flutter is Revolutionizing Cross-Platform Mobile App Development
Tumblr media
In recent years, cross-platform mobile app development has gained significant traction. Businesses want apps that run smoothly on Android and iOS without developing separate codebases for each. This is where Flutter, Google’s open-source UI framework, comes into play. Since its launch, Flutter has been reshaping the mobile app development landscape by making it easier, faster, and more efficient to build cross-platform apps.
In this blog, we’ll explore why Flutter is becoming the go-to choice for developers and businesses alike, how it’s revolutionizing mobile app development, and what benefits it brings to the table.
1. What is Flutter?
Flutter is an open-source UI software development kit (SDK) created by Google. It enables developers to build natively compiled applications for mobile (Android & iOS), desktop, and web from a single codebase. Unlike traditional frameworks, where different code is written for different platforms, Flutter allows a write-once, run-anywhere approach.
Key Features of Flutter:
Single Codebase: Develop once, and the app can be deployed across multiple platforms.
Hot Reload: Instantly see changes in the code without restarting the app.
Pre-built Widgets: A rich set of customizable widgets that provide pixel-perfect app designs.
Strong Community Support: Backed by Google and a large developer community.
2. Why Choose Flutter for Cross-Platform App Development?
The reasons why Flutter stands out among other cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Xamarin are its speed, flexibility, and modern architecture. Let’s look at the key reasons why developers and companies are increasingly choosing Flutter:
A. Single Codebase for Multiple Platforms
One of the biggest advantages of Flutter is that developers can write one codebase and deploy it across Android, iOS, web, and desktop. This significantly reduces development time and cost for businesses.
Example: A startup developing a social media app doesn’t need to hire separate teams for Android and iOS development. With Flutter, one team can develop and maintain both versions, speeding up time-to-market and reducing expenses. For instance, the company Reflectly, which is an AI-driven journal app, successfully launched its app on both platforms using a single codebase, allowing it to focus on features rather than platform-specific adjustments.
B. High-Performance Apps
Flutter apps are known for their high performance because they are natively compiled. The framework uses the Dart programming language, which compiles native ARM machine code, ensuring fast execution and quick app load times.
Core Example: Google Ads, the official app for managing Google Ads campaigns, was built using Flutter. This app showcases how Flutter can handle real-time data and provide high performance with a smooth user experience.
C. Hot Reload Feature
The Hot Reload feature of Flutter allows developers to see changes made in the code instantly. This boosts productivity by allowing quick iterations, debugging, and testing, thus minimizing delays in the development process.
Example: Developers working on the BMW app used Hot Reload to experiment with UI changes without losing their app state. This feature helped them refine their design in real time, resulting in a polished final product.
3. How Flutter Compares to Other Frameworks
A. Flutter vs. React Native
React Native is another popular cross-platform framework, but Flutter has an edge due to its richer set of pre-built widgets and its Skia graphics engine, which allows for faster rendering and smoother animations.FeatureFlutterReact NativeProgramming LanguageDartJavaScriptRenderingSkia EngineNative ComponentsHot ReloadYesYesPerformanceHighMedium
B. Flutter vs. Native Development
Native development for Android (using Java or Kotlin) and iOS (using Swift or Objective-C) results in platform-specific apps. While this allows for full access to platform-specific APIs and hardware features, it increases the development time and cost. Flutter strikes the balance by providing near-native performance with a single codebase.
Example: Alibaba used Flutter to develop parts of their app because it provided better performance while maintaining consistency across platforms. This allowed them to quickly iterate on features while ensuring a unified user experience.
4. Key Benefits of Using Flutter
A. Customizable Widgets
Flutter provides a large library of widgets that are highly customizable. These widgets help developers create pixel-perfect designs that look native on both Android and iOS. The flexibility of these widgets allows for faster UI creation and reduces the dependency on platform-specific designs.
B. Faster Development Cycles
Thanks to the single codebase and the Hot Reload feature, developers can iterate quickly, speeding up development cycles. This allows for faster time-to-market, which is a significant advantage for businesses looking to launch apps rapidly.
Core Example: eBay Motors utilized Flutter to develop its app, allowing for quicker iterations and faster release cycles. Their ability to quickly adjust features based on user feedback led to increased user satisfaction and engagement.
C. Cost-Effective Development
Building a separate app for iOS and Android can be expensive. Flutter significantly reduces the overall cost as developers only need to write and maintain one codebase. This is especially helpful for startups and businesses with limited budgets.
D. Strong Community and Support
Flutter has gained massive support from the developer community and Google itself. There are numerous tutorials, forums, plugins, and packages available, ensuring developers have access to all the resources they need.
5. Popular Apps Built with Flutter
Several high-profile companies have embraced Flutter for their app development. Here are a few examples:
Google Ads: The official app for managing Google Ads campaigns was built with Flutter, demonstrating its capability to handle complex functionalities and real-time data.
Alibaba: Parts of their mobile app were built using Flutter, showcasing its scalability and performance in high-traffic environments.
BMW: BMW’s app is powered by Flutter, offering a seamless cross-platform experience and demonstrating the framework’s capabilities in a high-end automotive environment.
6. Is Flutter the Future of Cross-Platform Development?
Flutter has made significant strides in the mobile app development world. Its ability to create high-performance, visually appealing apps from a single codebase has made it a favorite among developers.
Looking at its current trajectory, it’s clear that Flutter is set to dominate the cross-platform space. As more businesses seek to reduce development costs while delivering high-quality apps, Flutter’s role in revolutionizing mobile app development will only grow.
Conclusion
Flutter is indeed revolutionizing the way developers approach cross-platform mobile app development. By offering a single codebase, faster development cycles, cost-effective solutions, and high performance, Flutter is the ideal choice for businesses that need scalable and efficient mobile applications.
