hi!! not sure if ur still taking requests but if u are,,, could i request kevin & elysia taking care of an s/o who gets sick really easily?? i've been feeling under the weather for the past week TT-TT hope things are going well for u!!
Hi hi, anon! I’m always taking requests, I’m just v. v. slow on them due to college, carpal tunnel, and etc.--But I do hope you feel better soon! And thank you, things are going pretty decently on my side!
Tumblr media
Kevin constantly makes sure that Jackal and Gray Serpent are watching you like a hawk if he can’t be beside you. For as shady as they are, they’re also fiercely loyal to him and wouldn’t ever dare to disobey an actual explicitly direct order.
As much as he loves you, his work comes first, and he needs to create a world for you to be able to live in once you inevitably must be treated and given a Stigma. However, you must first be stable before he attempts it, else you might not survive the process. Naturally, you agreed to it first--There were many who didn’t have a choice in the Previous Era, he wants you to have one.
He’d never force something on you, much less anyone else.
Maybe you apologized to him a lot for it, for your weak body, for the fact you constantly get in his way. To soothe your fever, he gently rests a gloved hand on your head, but also to comfort you.
“You are my strength. Never think of yourself as an obstacle.”
He really struggled to get time to spend with you to care for you, even if he knows that you want him to accomplish the wish and duty he must fulfill. Kev is ready to sacrifice what he must and get his hands dirty, but he’d rather not have to lose you if he can.
Part of Jackal’s research involves finding a way to permanently bolster your immune system, or at the very least synthesize a medication you can take so you won’t have to feel this way as often.
He wants to hold you. Really, he does--But he’s cold, and that will only aggravate whatever it is that plagues you, and it hurts.
It makes him think about his nightmares that tell him that only the fittest survive.
You’re strong, you’ve stayed beside him. But your body? It isn’t.
He isn’t a hero. This is why. He’s working to save humanity, but he can’t even help you right now.
But that you tell him that his presence, that he made time for you, makes you feel a little better--He can stomach that feeling of helplessness.
Tumblr media
“Oh dear, oh dear, again? I told you not to push yourself.”
Elysia’s voice isn’t quite as teasing as it usually is, it’s a little bit softer as she gently dabs at your forehead with a cloth to wipe the sweat before placing a cooling patch there to help the fever break.
Yes, you have lap pillow privileges. She’ll even let you play with her ears or rest your head against her chest if you want, you get to be spoiled sweet by her--And it’s a fact that very few know. She’s affectionate at heart, but you get the more sincere side of it from her.
She’ll hum while playing with your hair, all while scolding you playfully with her usual lilt to it--But she means it, she was worried.
She can’t always be beside you, and she knows that now more than ever as a MANTIS. Someday, something or someone may take her away from you--And she worries.
So she asks Mobius or Klein to watch you whenever she has to head out for a few days. Mostly Klein, since Mobius might try to talk you into doing something she herself would never ever want you to do.
When/if that fails, she asks Dr. MEI.
Once she returns, she quietly enters your room to check on your sleeping form, but sure enough--
“Elysia....Did everything go okay...?” “Oh my, I was doing my best to be so quiet too. Still, you should worry more about yourself, don’t you think? I’m a lot stronger than I look.” “I know, but....” “Shhhhh. I wasn’t scolding you, I just want you to take better care of yourself.”
Her smile’s a little softer, but her eyes are just a little sad.

v i c e  v e r s a
This is the extremely brief story of how a rebellious, narcissistic little whelp fell in love with a smarmy, mustachioed bureaucrat (and vice versa).
+ Agent Mobius sits in an unremarkable cubicle in an unremarkable corner of an unremarkable building in a famously remarkable city. He wakes up and pages through his old travel magazines and not infrequently spills some of his coffee all over them. His subscription expired a year or so ago, and for whatever reason he has not been able to find the time to renew it. He finishes his breakfast and walks a couple blocks (if the weather’s nice) before hopping on the train another 30 minutes to the office, where he always greets security and they sometimes greet him back.
Agent Mobius has been working for the CI division of the Internal Revenue Service for the last 15 years, and he has been maddeningly close to catching Odin, the CEO of Asgard, Inc., for about 10 of those.
He’s worked other cases of course—made an impact in a plethora of other ways (his superiors take comfort in the consistent quality of his work), but they so rarely consumed him with the same degree of ferocity as this one. And it’s not because he’s been trapped within a “will they, won’t they” cluster-cuss with Odin’s impossible son (his youngest) for about 3-4 of the 10 years mentioned.
And no, it’s not a conflict of interest; if anything, he’s undercover.
B. (”Bee”) is his favorite co-worker. He knows almost nothing about her but is completely committed to making sure that he is her favorite co-worker. He’s winning her over. Absolutely.
“That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard you say, Mobius.”
He scoffs and adjusts his belt. He has almost certainly said things dumber than that.
Mobius treats himself to salads from Sissy’s Café 2-3 times a week. They’re on the pricier side because they’re so large, which is really the only way to eat a salad, otherwise you’re still hungry and it was nothing but a waste of money and wilted lettuce. On a seasonally comfortable day he’ll grab it to-go and grab a table at a small park nearby, which is generally speaking one of the nicer parts of his day, unless of course—
“You are terribly predictable, I hope you know.”
Mobius huffs and stabs his fork into a particularly thick bit of spinach and avocado. “You say that as if you’re not, which I find hilarious.”
“Well you would, I am famously quite funny.”
He tries to ignore the fact that the code-word “Young Prince,” has finally gotten the haircut he’s so desperately needed (even more so does he try to ignore the fact that he’d been the one to suggest it). Loki is in black today (surprise, surprise) despite the bright, warm sunshine, and his t-shirt fits snug across his shoulders.
“Nice haircut,” Mobius notes between sips of his ever-warming seltzer.
Loki gives the barest hint of a smile, which is unfortunately one of Mobius’ favorite things, if only because it is one of the few real things about the man.
“Not that you asked, but I stopped by because I have some information for you.”
Mobius sighs. Loki loves claiming to have information, which Mobius more-or-less loves to follow-up on despite the fact that it is unreliable about 85% of the time. Happily enough for Mobius, Loki isn’t a huge fan of his father either, although he is a fan of his father’s money, which doesn’t really work in the IRS’ favor.
“Oh?” Mobius replies, disinterested. “And I’m sure it’s just as helpful as your last little ‘tip’ was.”
“More, actually, and frankly I’m offended by the accusation.”
“I’m sure you are.”
The few seconds that follow would be familiar to anyone who had for whatever reason been observing this strange almost-mating ritual that had been occurring over the years. A comfortably quiet exchange of mutual gazing where Loki secretly admired the bent in Mobius’ nose, and Mobius secretly admired the crinkling around Loki’s eyes when he did that almost-smile he reserved for a lucky few.
Loki clears his throat and reaches across the table for the seltzer, taking a sip whilst decidedly ignoring the look of disbelief on Mobius’ face.
“Excuse me—”
“Yes, excuse you, if you’ll recall I was about to share some very valuable information. The most valuable, you might say.”
The last time Loki interrupted Mobius’ lunch with “valuable information,” he’d wasted an ungodly amount of time and money pursuing a lead (and raiding the office of a rather well-respected Senator) that went nowhere, all because this Senator had made a pointed and correct comment at some rich-person function and Loki has never been able to not take something personally for even one moment in his absurd little life.
“And why should I believe you this time?”
It’s the fidgeting that gives it away—how starts tapping his fingertips against the empty can, his eyes looking anywhere other than at Mobius. That maybe he’s telling the truth this time.
“I’m... tired, I guess.”
“You’re ‘tired.’”
He looks up, briefly, before he returns to this out-of-character bit of looking anywhere else.
“My brother’s off... saving the world,” he starts with a sneer, “Sylvie’s about to have a family—”
“She’s still your family,” Mobius interrupts, “don’t be stupid.”
“But that’s classic me, isn’t it?”
Mobius silently disagrees, but he’s so afraid to burst this bubble of self-awareness—to ruin what has started to feel like a critical, life-changing moment, that he cannot possibly bring himself to speak.
Loki opens his mouth as if he has more to say, but he closes it and places a small black hard drive in the middle of the table instead. When Mobius looks closer, he notices that it’s engraved with a small bolt of lightening. His heart starts to tap in a series quickening, uncomfortable beats.
“Loki—”
“I’ve had it for a while,” he admits, “if you knew how long you’d probably want nothing more to do with me.”
Mobius has made the moral arguments before; probably to the detriment of the argument itself. That no single man should be able to accumulate so much wealth—that his notoriously stuffy, humorless job is “really important, actually,” and stopping his father could help a lot of people, least of all his own son, and “good god, Loki, what the hell are you even trying to prove?”
“It’s for admittedly selfish reasons,” he continues before Mobius can correct him, “regardless of the final outcome.”
“Why’s that?” Mobius croaks, wishing his tie was just a little bit looser today (so goddamn tight, every single day—)
“Well,” he grins, looking back up at him, finally, “if you’re not undercover, there’s no... what’s the term? ‘Conflict of interest?’”
“Yeah,” Mobius laughs, “yeah, that’s the term.”
Loki pushes the drive across the table. “Take it,” he says, “it’s time you had it.”
"Feels like it should be heavier.”
Loki smirks.
“Shut up.”
Mobius glances at his watch and notices, with surprise, that he’s gone about 5 minutes over his lunch hour.
“Time to go?” Loki asks, the words painted with a nervousness that seems foreign to him.
Agent Mobius has never once returned late from his lunch hour. He respects the agency’s time too much, and what real good has ever come from his lingering? But when he looks back at Loki, who has so recently cut his hair—who suddenly fidgets and appears genuinely nervous, he considers the importance of making exceptions to certain rules. To “loosening his tie,” so to speak. And besides, Bee will cover for him (he’s pretty sure).
“Nah,” Mobius answers, sliding the drive into his coat pocket, “I can be late.”

1.
"Hey here!" Loki said softly as he entered Mobius' office.
"Loki!"
"I've come to give you my report on the mission with the new recruits." continued Loki as he came to sit across from Mobius.
"I'm listening."
If anyone entered the office at this moment, there would be no indication that the two men were a couple.
But if one stayed, he would see the way their fingers brushed against each other as Loki gave Mobius the file he held in his hands, the way Mobius moved his chair closer so their knees touched, or the closer than necessary distance between their heads when Loki pointed out a detail on the papers spread out before them.
All these small gestures were evidence of their relationship, but only visible to those who knew them.
Once he finished his report, Loki stood up. His gaze fell on Josta's open can on a corner of Mobius' desk.
"How long ago did you open it?"Loki asked him.
"This morning," Mobius answered before shrugging his shoulders.
Loki took the can in his hand, which gradually turned blue, the color of his Jotun skin.
He kept it for a few seconds and then put it back under Mobius' curious look. On the can you could see the droplets of steam caused by the drink, which was now cold.
He leaned towards Mobius and said softly, "I know you prefer to drink it cold..."
Then as he got up he winked at him before turning and heading for the door.
He turned around one last time, and said, "See you later." Before closing the door behind him under the amazed look of Mobius.
2.
"Papers, papers, always papers! I can't take paperwork anymore!" Mobius threw his pen towards the door, but he didn't hear the sound it should have made as it smashed against it. He looked up to see Loki had just entered his office and caught the pen in mid-air.
"Are you tired of me already that you want to eliminate me?" asked Loki with a teasing smile on his face.
"Aaah Loki... shit, lunch! The cafeteria! I forgot about it! I'm sor-"
"Hey, hey, it's okay Mobius, Casey told me you probably wouldn't show up, seeing as how the last time he saw you the files were piling up on your desk." replied Loki as he walked over to him.
"That doesn't stop me from being sorry."
Loki shook his head, "It's not like we'll never get another chance, and honestly what worries me the most is not that you didn't come, but the fact that you're missing out on a meal again."
Mobius protested, "It's okay I-"
Loki stopped him with a hand, "But as a devoted companion, I thought of you and... tada...!"
Loki twirled his hand and amidst the green swirls appeared... a bowl of salad, which he placed on Mobius' desk after making room.
Mobius couldn't help but laugh as he recognized the bowl of salad.
"What are you doing?"
"...your salad is Asgard in this scenario."
"No, it's not Asgard, that's my lunch."
"It's a metaphor. Just hang in there."
" I want that salad."
"I understood that this dish was your preference."
Mobius replied, raising an eyebrow, "Last time, that didn't stop you from adding salt, pepper and whatever else to it to prove your theory. With a metaphor that by the way was at least as bad as the dagger one..."
"Hey, I was right anyway, well about the salad not the dagger..."
Mobius gave him a knowing smile. He had seen the conversation between Loki and Sylvie.
"Love is a dagger." Loki made appear a dagger before continuing, "It's a weapon to be wielded far away or up close. You can see yourself in it. It's beautiful. Until it makes you bleed. But ultimately, when you reach for it…"
Loki offers the hilt to Sylvie. She reaches to take it, but the dagger disappears.
"It isn't real."
"It's real."
"It is, yes," Loki replied, then kissed him tenderly before walking away. As he closed the door, however, he threw out in a serious tone, "Don't forget to eat your salad."
Mobius smiled at his words, who would have thought his lover had a mother-hen side?
3.
"A planet where it rains all the time! Guys... remind me to put this on the checklists of things to verify before teleporting to a planet: 'Check the weather.'"
Mobius had just passed the time-door, soaked like a drowned rat. They had been on a mission to search for someone on an unknown planet where apparently there was only one sort of weather :  rain.
He hated it, his suit was sticking to his skin and he was starting to feel the wetness and cold penetrate his bones. He could not hold back a shiver.
Suddenly he saw a green light enveloping him from head to toe.
Little by little the feeling of cold and dampness disappeared and was replaced by a feeling of warmth and comfort. He was now dry.
He looked up to see Loki coming towards him, as a last green swirl faded from his hands.
Loki stopped in front of him, "I have a feeling that this mission was a pain in the ass, right?"
Mobius replied, "You know my love of rain."
Then he stopped, waved his hand to show himself, and added, "Thanks for that."
Mobius was always pleasantly surprised by Loki's little attention, but even more so by the fact that it showed how well he knew and cared about Mobius.
Unfortunately they were in one of the most crowded hallways of the TVA so Mobius couldn't show his appreciation as he would have if they were in the privacy of their apartment. However, he couldn't help but touch Loki and put his hand on his arm, squeezing lightly and said again in a gentle tone, "Thank you, really."
Loki replied with the same smile by simply nodding and placing his hand on Mobius’ hand, he said gently, "My pleasure, for you, always."
4.
Mobius was staring at the papers in his hands, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. He was about to do something, to write something, but he couldn't remember.
"Mobius? Since when do you bring home work."
Loki's voice as he entered their living room pulled Mobius from his thoughts. He blinked his eyes. "I have to finish this, and I'd rather finish it here." He mumbled, his voice hoarser than usual.
Loki said to him in a slightly annoyed tone, "Did you hear your raspy voice? Did you see your face? You better get some rest."
"I absolutely must finish this."
"Really? When you seem to be having trouble even keeping your eyes open?", Loki insisted.
"I'm fine," Mobius replied.
Exasperation was now evident in Loki's voice, "Only you believe it. Even your colleagues have noticed!"
"I'm fine!"
"Mobius," Loki sighed.
"I'm fine," Mobius repeated. "Just let me fin-..."
A coughing fit interrupted him. He coughed so hard it felt like his lungs were being torn apart.
"That's enough," Loki said in a voice that had no return.
Loki took his file out of his hands, grabbed Mobius' hands, made him stand up and pulled him behind him.
"Hey! Loki!"
Loki ignored him and pulled him towards their room.
"Loki!" Mobius coughed violently again. He felt exhausted all of a sudden and feeling himself spinning, he clung to Loki's hand.
"Mobius, you're burning up!" exclaimed Loki in a panicked tone.
Mobius shivered, as if to confirm what Loki had just noticed. "Are you cold?"
"Yes, and warm."
Loki carefully sat him down on their bed. "The important thing is to get your love fever down, okay?"
He helped him put on his pajamas with gentle touches and carefully laid him down under the blanket.
Mobius' eyes were still open and he suddenly saw Loki in his Jotun form.
"Loki? Did you just transform or am I having a gorgeous hallucination."
Loki chuckled affectionately, "Oh love, only you would call me a gorgeous hallucination when I have this form. But no, it's real. Do you trust me?"
"Even with a raging fever, yes and even unconditionally."
Loki smiled again, and went to join him. He laid behind Mobius, and wrapped his arms around him, without putting too much strength into it, and put one of his cool hands on his forehead.
Mobius breathed a sigh of relief, "Ahhh that feels good. Thank you my love." then he felt himself being swept away by exhaustion, only aware of the cool sensation around him
He woke up a few hours later, much better than before. Loki was still wrapped around him. He turned around and noticed that Loki had returned to his normal appearance.
"You've joined the living world?" asked Loki with a smile.
"Thanks to you," Mobius replied in a still hoarse voice, running a finger over Loki's face before continuing, " No longer blue?"
Loki was surprised at Mobius' almost disappointed expression. He was still a little unsettled by the fact that Mobius loved his Jotun appearance as much as his current one.
"The fever has dropped enough."
Mobius moved a little closer and pressed a tender kiss to his lips.
"Thank you for having taken care of me, Sweetheart."
Loki put a kiss on his nose before replying, "I assure you that the pleasure was all mine love."
5.
Mobius dreamed of Ravonna, of her face at the moment she said, "Prune him" without hesitation and he disappeared.
That's when he woke up as he often does, sweating and gasping for breath. He ran his hands over his body, just to make sure he was there and alive. His chest ached under the rapid beating of his heart.
Mobius, still in his nightmare, struggled at first against Loki's comforting hands and warm voice, unable to calm his breathing that threatened to cause panic. He made a move to escape, but Loki's fingers caught his wrist before he could go anywhere.
Once Mobius let go, Loki brought their heads together, cradling him, their noses almost touching until Mobius' breathing slowly returned to normal
Mobius kept repeating, "I don't want to disappear, I want to live." and Loki would nod and whisper words of comfort and reassurance in return.
After a few minutes, Loki asked softly, "Mobius, do you want me to erase these images from your mind? I wouldn't erase the memory, only the residue of your nightmare."
Mobius tightened his arms around Loki and nodded, "Yes... please..."
He put his fingers on Mobius' temple and closed his eyes, concentrating on the images he was sending into Mobius' mind, images of beaches, jet skis, sun and warmth.
Then Loki squeezed him and Mobius buried his head further into Loki's chest and, in a hushed tone, he heard Loki suggest that he concentrate on the slow, loud sound of his heartbeat.
Mobius let himself be lulled by the soft beat as Loki's hands now caressed his hair. He vaguely heard Loki's voice whisper something, "It only beats for you."
Before he could respond, sleep claimed him, and this time filled with dreams of warmth and love
+1
"Oh Mobius, you're bleeding," Loki said, taking a deep breath as the wizard entered the living room. It was late at night, Mobius had been on a mission that had lasted much longer than expected.
Loki approached him, "Let me see."
Mobius turned away and protested, "No, I'm going to put on a little bandage in the bathroom and I'll be fine.."
Loki replied, "Don't be stupid, let me take care of you before you spill your blood all over the apartment."
"What a drama queen!"
"Hey!"
Mobius, obediently sat down on the couch. With calm and sure hands, Loki carefully turned Mobius' arms from side to side and was relieved to find only a superficial cut. A moment later, he returned with compresses, disinfectant and a bandage.
Sitting down next to Mobius, he took the arm in one hand and began to clean the cut with the disinfectant.
Mobius hummed at the relief the treatment brought him, after enduring the rubbing of his shirt all day. He closed his eyes under the pleasant sensation.
"My poor love," Loki said in a low voice, "does it hurt?"
"I've had worse," Mobius replied. He heard Loki soak another compress, then felt it on his arm again, Loki methodically cleaning the cut again.
"I know that, but that doesn't mean you don't have the right to talk about your pain."
A moment later, Mobius felt Loki's fingers on his face, his thumb gently caressing his cheek. His lover's face was so close that he could feel his breath on his lips.
As his fingers left his face, Mobius opened his eyes again.
He watched as Loki grabbed the bandage and began to wrap it around his arm. When he finished, Loki set everything aside on the coffee table and pulled Mobius with him to the couch.
They sat in silence for a while, one against the other with Mobius' injured arm around Loki's shoulders after Loki made sure it didn't hurt.
"Do you know what my mother used to do when I got hurt as a child?" he asked Mobius, and without waiting for an answer continued, "she would kiss on my wound and tell me it would help the healing."
Mobius could hear the tender, wistful tone as he did every time Loki spoke of his mother.
"My wound is well treated now, but I wouldn't mind a kiss." replied Mobius with a teasing tone.
"You know I would do anything to make you feel better, my love." With that Loki turned to him, "Let me kiss it better." Then he leaned over Mobius and kissed him gently.
And not surprisingly, Mobius felt much better.

As always, bear with me as it is not beta'd I hope you enjoyed it 🥰

SCREAMING SOBBING FALLING TO PIECES I WILL DIE WITHOUT MORE OF THIS!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
CONTINUED:
2012 loki watches, rapt, as mobius does everything he can to encourage the variant's cock into his mouth. his tongue runs along its underside and towards the tip, but time and again, prez loki draws back just before mobius can take him in his mouth.
"god, if only you could see yourself...taking one loki to the hilt already, but it's just not enough for you, is it?"
mobius lets out a desperate moan; 2012 loki's grip tightens on his legs.
"what a perfect cockslut," prez loki praises, reaching to stroke mobius' hair. he glances over to 2012 loki.
"and it was so, so easy to bring him out."
prez loki turns his focus back to mobius, whose mouth still hangs open and ready, eyes trained upward. pleading.
and prez loki is feeling charitable.
his fingers thread into mobius' hair and then tighten into a fist, eliciting a gasp of surprise. the gasp is followed quickly by a hedonistic /ahh/ as prez loki tugs mobius' head back. the next sounds mobius makes are muffled, as loki slips his cock past those parted and pouting lips.
2012 loki slows his hips as his variant sinks again and again into mobius' mouth, almost as if he can't focus on what he's doing and fully appreciate what prez loki and mobius have going on at the same time.
the /sounds/ of the two of them, the variant and mobius, send jolts through 2012 loki. obscene, wet, thick sounds accompany mobius' muffled vocalizations.
"you haven't even seen his best feature," prez loki tells his counterpart, maintaining his grip on mobius' hair as he pushes deeper into his mouth. again and again, impossibly deep, he fucks mobius' bulged, straining throat. then, for a moment, he holds there, deep inside the other man, whose face has flushed with effort.
"we've been working on this a while, haven't we?" prez loki asks, his voice tighter than a moment before. he holds for another few seconds - it feels like an eternity - before he pulls out of mobius' mouth; the other man gasps, chest rising and falling rapidly as he catches his breath. 2012 loki has stopped moving entirely, entranced by the exhausted, blissed-out expression in mobius' face.
when the silver-haired man's watery eyes meet 2012 loki's clear and intent gaze, he nods, still breathing in heavy sighs. loki's entire body seems to respond to the need in the other man's eyes; he anchors himself with mobius' legs as he begins to roll his hips again, fucking him harder than before. as if on cue, prez loki turns mobius' head back towards him and breaches his lips once more.
2012 loki feels nearly lightheaded, not only because this is a scenario he could never have dreamt up, but because he absurdly, inexplicably feels he's /needed/ this exact, impossible scenario since the moment he laid eyes on the analyst. mobius feels good around loki, tight and hot and yielding entirely to the thickness of loki's cock, but loki's physical pleasure is only a drop in the sea of his enjoyment. seeing mobius like this, laid out in front of him, his sturdy but weathered body writhing beneath him, brings new meaning to the word "sublime."
the way mobius eagerly swallows prez loki's cock, again and again, is another thing altogether.
in an instant, 2012 loki is overcome with an urge so strong he pulls out of mobius without warning. in a fluid motion he's low between mobius' legs, pushing his thighs apart and back.
"oh - that's a good boy," prez loki graciously appraises, looking down at his variant as his hips piston against mobius' face. "i'm sure he'll thank you when he can."
with a heavy, shuddering sigh, 2012 loki brings his mouth to mobius' pussy.

Glorious, Before the Burden - The Mourning ~ 13
Waking up after seeing Loki with Sylvie - adult Sylvie - I lay in bed and stared at my ceiling trying to understand.  What - where were they?  The morning dawned as I tried to make sense out of the senseless and I gave up.  LISTENING was how I was supposed to get my magic in line to grow and evolve, not forcing myself to make things work into a box of logic when the logic was nowhere near where I was.
I got out of bed, letting it right itself as I dressed and fixed my hair - making up a schedule for my day.  A trip to the village was in order since my cupboards were getting bare, my books were growing tiresome, and I needed to find some inspiration for what I should do next.  As I stood in the kitchen getting a glass of water, staring out at my garden - I watched as once again a group of people wandered in to trample it - only this time they appeared out of the same type of doorway that Sylvie had.
Sighing deeply, I opened my door and stood with my arms crossed.  The man with the crooked nose and white hair I’d seen Loki interacting with was among the barbarians ruining my garden.
“Do you MIND?” Stepping out onto the pathway, I raised my hand and they parted like water.  “Do keep to the path, I’d rather not have to replant the damn garden every time one of your groups stomps through to demand an audience.”
He stepped forward, the leader clearly, and offered his hand.  “I apologize, Miss -” I stared at his hand and then back at his face.  Awkward silence prevailed and he dropped the hand.  “You’re not as hospitable as I was expecting from the files.  I guess that’s understandable given your current status.”
“Pardon?”  Staring at him, he realized that he’d only made matters worse for himself.  “Who precisely are you?  All of you?”
“Right, sorry again.”  He looked as if he might wish that anyone else had been in his place.  “My name is Mobius M. Mobius, I’m an agent of the Time Variance Authority.”
“The Time Variance Authority?” I sounded as unimpressed as I felt.  “And what authority does this particular agency have, AGENT Mobius?”
“I’m glad you asked that, Miss -” Again lacking, so he rushed on.  “We’re tasked with keeping the Sacred Timeline intact and on track.”
“The Sacred Timeline, you say.”  My eyebrow couldn’t be stopped from rising.  “There are infinite timelines, Agent Mobius, which one of these infinite timelines has been deemed ‘sacred’?”  He stared at me.  “Why are you here, on my doorstep, while your fellows are tearing apart my garden?”
“Loki,” one word, one name, and yet it weighed more than the entire universe.  “Your husband, well a variant of your husband - he’s killing our people.”
“And?”  Not really my problem, given that he wasn’t MY Loki.  My Loki was locked away on Asgard and I was trapped here.  “What precisely do you want from me?”
“Information.” I laughed.  “He has to be stopped, Miss -”
“First of all, Agent Mobius, I am not a ‘miss’.”  I sighed.  “I’ve been married for a very long time to my husband, and while we are not physically together, I can assure you we are still VERY MUCH MARRIED.”  He swallowed so hard that I felt sure that his people could hear him even as they muttered amongst themselves.  “Second of all, I cannot see why you would imagine that I would give information to such a ridiculous outfit such as an agency that is so fanciful as yours.  Honestly, a Sacred Timeline?  Have you no understanding whatsoever of how anything works?”
He opened his mouth to speak, but I raised my hand and whatever he hoped to say caught in his throat.  And as I stared into his eyes I saw something terribly tragic - this person had no idea who he truly was, none at all.  Taking the hand I’d raised to stop him from uttering more nonsense, I touched his hand and saw that not only did he hope to gain my trust and cooperation in bringing this dangerous version of my husband to heel, but he also wished to keep me safe - even if he wasn’t entirely sure what I was in danger from at least not on the surface level of his current state.
Someone, a young woman with a rigid disposition and a darkness within her that was unmatched by the man before me, planned a very different way to correct the problem the Variant - that’s what they called the Loki, and others like my husband who strayed from their proper place in time - had created on their Sacred Timeline.  A plot that the man before me had disagreed with so vocally that he’d been reset, but not well enough to get the urge to bring me onboard in his quest to fix the issue in his own way.  How horrible, I thought, as I felt the confusion and betrayal he’d felt as a person he thought of as a friend had violated that trust to remove a piece of him - and how truly horrific that he didn’t know that his entire existence was built on a lie.
Removing my hand, I also released him from the silence I’d forced on him.
“Of course I understand -” he sighed, “What should I call you?”  He smiled awkwardly and I returned it with a smile of my own.  Why not, since he would lose this memory as well?
“Sigyn,” giving him my name was easy enough, but knowing that Loki - any version of him - AND Sylvie were running from people like these made my blood run cold.  “You can call me Sigyn.”
Mobius didn’t stay much longer.  He even managed to convince the troop he came with to stand outside the garden.  And he found that I was true to my word, I would not give him information on my husband - Variant or not.
Before he, and the others, left - I removed the visit from their memories and the TempPad.  Watching him disappear through the doorway I’d seen Sylvie disappear behind so many times in my childhood, I wondered what would become of him - this Mobius M. Mobius? Would he ever learn the truth about the lies that built his world and purpose?  And how would he take it when he found out that the ONE person he thought he could trust the most, was the one he shouldn’t trust at all?
My schedule was thrown off by the visit from the Time Variance Authority.  And using powers that I hadn’t used before, but somehow knew I had access to - LISTENING to my intuition, to what felt right instead of what I would normally do - had reminded me that I hadn’t broken my fast.  Hungry and a touch tired, I went back to the kitchen to pick up where I’d left off when I witnessed my visitors’ arrival.
Sitting at the table, my cell phone next to me, eating absently while I contemplated what I saw through Mobius’ ruined memories.  His companion, a superior to him - a judge named Ravonna - had told him she planned on erasing parts of Loki’s timeline, the parts she deemed most likely to set him on the path that would lead to his homicidal rampage.  He’d argued against this course, reminding her that they still had no idea where this Variant had come from, and that meant that they hadn’t a clue as to which parts of the timeline should be wiped to be effective.  The coldness in her face should have warned him, but he didn’t know her, not really.  He simply thought he did, because of the process that created him.
The part she wishes to erase was me, Sigyn, the wife.  Clearly erasing the most emotionally charged part of his timeline would work to break him - dull the blade and he’d be easier to prune.  Mobius had argued that by that logic she should erase Frigga as well, or Thor - but Ravonna shook her head.
“No,” her smile grew in an almost reptilian way.  “If you look through the files, if you WATCH it - what Loki feels for Sigyn, it goes far beyond simple affection or love, Mobius.  Remove her from the equation, take her away and he has NOTHING to search for, nothing to yearn for, nothing to reach and grasp for - he’ll beg to be pruned.”
I’d felt sick, the way she’d considered it - as if breaking him apart and ripping me away from him was a game.  As if watching him - I knew that these files weren’t simply written, that they were visual - she watched him in his cell in Asgard, watched as he saw the wraith of me visit him and how he felt tortured by it.  And I knew she ENJOYED it.  Unlike Frigga, who I felt did only what Odin asked, Ravonna wanted to see Loki in agony and begging for it to end so she could order it.
The only thing that gave me strength was the knowledge that she obviously didn’t KNOW Loki.  Removing me from a file wouldn’t convince him that I was gone or break him - that equating that with the pain he was feeling in his cell in Asgard was the mistake of a sadistic amateur.  If anything, removing me would make him MORE thirsty for a path to find out WHY I was removed and WHERE I was.  Ravonna had done nothing to make her tiny little hope bear fruit, instead she made it more likely to go in the opposite direction.
If only I knew how Sylvie fit into the situation -
I set off for the village after my breakfast.  Content that the weather was perfect for the walk, and that I could easily find everything I needed within walking distance of my home.
Books first, the small shop was owned by the second person to befriend me after Michael.  A lovely young woman named Caroline who quickly learned the types of books that I most enjoyed and would tuck a few behind the counter for me, even though she knew I’d still wander the stacks and pluck a few more to add to the pile.
“You’re up and out early this morning, Margaret,” her smile was open and warm.  “I had a feeling you’d be around today.”  Reaching under the counter, she pulled out four books and set the on the counter.  “I’ll keep them here for you while you browse.”
Shaking my head, my smile came easily as I roamed the aisles, gaze dancing across the spines of the books as I looked for anything that stood out and caught my attention.  While I shopped, Caroline and I chatted, the shop being small enough that we didn’t have to raise our voices even when I was at the furthest point from the till.  She asked about Micheal and I assured her that he was well, telling her that we’d spent the day before together.
“He dotes on you,” she was grinning as I joined her at the counter to pay.  “We’re all happy you came home to keep him company.  You keep him young.”  My smile faltered, a reminder that I’d be leaving once I learned how to rejoin Loki - leaving Michael alone again.
“He’s incredibly kind,” I agreed, paying for my books.  “And I’m glad I came home too.”
The rest of my shopping trip was much the same.  Friendly reminders of how thankful everyone was that I’d “returned” to the family fold so Michael wasn’t alone any longer.  The reminder of what I would be leaving was starting to cause me pinpricks of pain - but the piercing ache of being apart from my husband was overpowering.  I could always visit Michael, it wasn’t as if I couldn’t come back.
At the cottage, once everything was put in its place, I chose not to return to the laptop and instead went to the garden to inspect the damage caused by Mobius and his group.  A few bushes weren’t quite as bushy as they should be, several of the flower beds were smashed with boot prints, and the grass had divots that showed dirt where green should be.
Sighing heavily, I sat down on the bench and closed my eyes.  The air was cool and the sun was trying to shine through a hazy cloud cover.  A slight breeze ruffled my hair as I let the calm of my garden - damaged though it was - soothe my frayed nerves.
Perhaps it was the breeze.  Maybe it was the scent of apples that blew in from somewhere.  It could have been the hint of galbanum that tickled my nose.  Whatever it was, somehow I wasn’t in the garden anymore - instead I was on a train unlike any train I’d ever been on - and there was Loki sitting across from Sylvie.

207. Sonic the Hedgehog #139
Tumblr media
Return to Angel Island (Part 2): Avatar
Writer: Karl Bollers Pencils: Jon Gray Colors: Jason Jensen
With Sonic and Knuckles and their crew all surrounded by the Dark Legion, everyone leaps into battle, fighting their way through the Legion soldiers in the hopes of escape. However, the fight is soon interrupted by none other than Lara-Le shouting for everyone to stop fighting, as they're all on the same side. She's sporting a brand new and adorable bushy hairdo, and seems unharmed.
Tumblr media
Resistance, huh? Well, I suppose the Legion would be far more equipped to handle fighting back against the dingoes than the larger echidna populace would be. Lara-Le leads everyone into the underground cavern the refugees have been staying in, watched over by the Hidden Palace where the higher-ups of the Legion are residing. Knuckles is surprised to meet a white-and-black-patterned echidna who introduces himself as Dr. Finitevus, who explains how they've been watching over the refugees here, and he leads the heroes up to the palace, where Lien-Da, the leader of the whole operation, awaits them. She's just oozing with false sweetness, explaining to Knuckles, who is growing rapidly more angry and suspicious, that Lara-Le was the one who sent the message about his father's capture to him. Knuckles angrily demands to know where the Master Emerald is, so she orders everyone but him and Sonic to stay behind and leads them further into the palace. As they walk, they're baffled to see a strange tapestry depicting some unusual imagery…
Tumblr media
Now where could something like that have come from? It seems that sometime in the past, Sonic and Eggman must have traveled into the past and duked it out in full view of whoever was present back then, and a tapestry was made about it. I guess we'll have to find out later what the deal with that is though, because Lien-Da leads them through another door, and in the room beyond Knuckles is shocked to see the Master Emerald hooked up to a lot of machinery. Apparently, when Eggman first invaded the island, the entire Brotherhood of Guardians fought to protect the emerald, and while they succeeded they've been missing ever since, with the sole exception of Locke.
Tumblr media
Wow, there's a lot going on here. So Knuckles' sacrifice for Dimitri was useless after all? Apparently, Dimitri is gone now, and Lien-Da is in charge of everything. Furthermore, Knuckles is now totally overcome by pain whenever he gets too close to the Master Emerald, which he realizes is a consequence of returning from the afterlife that Aurora tried to warn him about. That night he sits with his friends, feeling trapped and frustrated, as he can't even rush in to save his father yet - they're waiting on word from their double agent inside the dingoes' ranks to give them the signal. Suddenly, he finds himself approached by a small family with a big request.
Tumblr media
Yikes, Finitevus, chill out! I mean… you're half right, but chill out anyway! Finitevus furiously rants for a little while longer about how Knuckles isn't here to save them and the prophecy isn't real before stomping away. Sonic awkwardly tries to cover for Knuckles to the stunned family, but Knuckles stops him and says honestly to the couple that he's not capable of performing miracles and can't help them. As they walk away, Julie-Su and Vector get into a brief argument, with Vector saying they can't know if the prophecy is actually true while Julie-Su argues that she thinks Finitevus is right, however much of an asshole he is. Knuckles blows up angrily, yelling at them to stop fighting, that he's been hit in the face by surprise after surprise since he came back, and he's tired of it. Unfortunately for him, at that moment his mother arrives with one more surprise for him… and hands over his baby brother!
Mobius 25 Years Later: Slumber Party
Writer: Ken Penders Pencils: Steven Butler Colors: Jason Jensen
Aaaaand back to this. Julie-Su, Sally, and Abby all put together some snacks for the kids upstairs, because since they're the womenfolk they have to prepare the food and look after the children while the men are off doing… uhh, manly stuff. Lara-Su has invited her friends Salma and Riki-Le over, and together with Manik and Sonia they have a bona-fide sleepover on their hands. Manik is the only boy and the youngest one there, and apparently he's a bit of a budding pervert, suggesting to everyone that they play the classic party game Spin the Bottle. He tries to explain to everyone how it's played, but when the two moms enter the room and ask what game they were about to play…
Tumblr media
Ah, it appears that Lara-Su has encountered this trick before - plus Manik isn't exactly subtle about his crush on her, so she's naturally already suspicious. Lara-Su dodges questions from the adults about her comment by first making fun of Salma for dating Rutan, and then suggesting they play a board game instead of continuing to discuss the matter. Meanwhile, Manik finds Sonic alone in the other room playing pool, which is I guess the most "dad" thing Penders could think of for Sonic to be doing at a family get-together (and to be fair, it kind of is).
Tumblr media
Well at least now he's being an actually decent dad instead of repeatedly trying to drown his own son. Bizarrely, Julie-Su and Sally both stick around with the teen girls to hang out instead of leaving them alone to be, well, teen girls, and Lara-Su and Sonia get around to asking their moms about why their dads fight so much. Hey, that's a question I think we'd all also like to know, Penders! Sally says that she honestly doesn't know, as while they have a lot in common they've been like "oil and water" from the moment they first met. Lara-Su recalls that Knuckles and Julie-Su were once like that, but Julie-Su lets her in on the "secret" that for her, it was love at first sight with Knuckles, though it obviously took them a while to admit it to each other. Ah, that whole Soultouch thing, remember? I still think that's a poor excuse for getting two characters together, allowing Penders to use the flawed reasoning that they were just fated to be together or something, especially considering that all things considered Knuckles and Julie-Su actually do have a lot of chemistry even without such an excuse. Like… their whole relationship could have worked out just the same without the whole Soultouch plot point, so I still don't get why Penders even had to include it. Anyway, that's literally the end of the issue - the issue just kind of cuts off mid-conversation, and we see Knuckles looking out a window alone, and that's it! This is the first issue that actually introduced absolutely nothing significant, not even a throwaway line about this timeline's history or yet another reiteration of how the weather is bad lately! Wonder how much longer this will drag on before we're set free.

UPDATE ON METAL INVASION
Tumblr media
Neo’s forces have established a foothold in the hubworld known as Mobius. A zone previously known for being a bustling city used by both humans and mobians alike has been ransacked, razed to the ground, and built back up by Neo’s robotic army, creating an area that is simultaneously heavily guarded and heavily durable against all manner of retaliation, including violent weather and outside interference.
The zone, now known as Neo Metal Zone, is also surrounded by various ships that patrol the skies above, most of them roughly the size of a football field, with some being larger. The biggest ship remains docked within the center of the city, and its design alone is enough to recognize is as Neo Metal Sonic’s mothership.
Various human and mobian prisoners have been taken from multiple zones around the world. Most, if not all prisoners, are brought directly into the Neo Metal Zone to be ‘converted’ into tools for Neo to use. This includes complete roboticization or a mere culling of those he doesn’t deem fit enough to serve in his military or his workforce.
Neo has temporarily ended his expanse into the world beyond, mainly due to outside retaliation by various forces (resistances, eggman’s own army, G.U.N, etc etc. However, it’s notable that most, if not all of these forces have suffered heavy losses in the wake of Neo’s sheer military strength. However, they have temporarily halted his expanse, allowing for those factions to devise plans of actions against Neo’s other outposts.
Neo Metal Sonic has established some outposts in various zones. While not at all big, they act as connections to the Neo Metal Zone, and are usually frequented by Neo’s military power. Most of these outposts have robots that frequently move about and patrol the area in search for Neo’s key target, as well as any other valuable resource.
Neo is taking it easy. He’s lounging, occasionally leaving his zone and his mothership to investigate various things of interest. He has found some potentially dangerous targets,  but no sign of his primary objective.
Syntax is with the resistance, and is currently working alongside them to try to devise a way to fight back against Neo before he rises back from the temporary stalemate.

Sonic/Equestria Girls Au Information and Lore
It's finally time to show you all something that I've had in my head for years and I promised myself that this year I would introduce it, AND TODAY IS THAT DAY. This crossover isn't like any other story where "sonic and his friends travel to the world of equestria girls because eggman messed up the timeline or mephiles miraculously came back and sent them there on a magic portal thingie for revenge" Nope, this is vastly different. Before I begin, I'd like to clarify that this takes place in a hybrid universe where the IDW/archie comics/games take place. I love the archie characters too much to NOT let them be a part of it. Basically, it's the IDW/game verse but with archie characters in them, along with a few events that happened and some cities that are in the old comics (i.e Knothole, Meropis etc.). Another note is that some of my ocs, and their species, are in this au as well! The species is called Novians.
Here's a list of the Archie characters: Sally Acorn and her family (Elias, Max etc.) Uncle Chuck (I'm a bit unsure if I want to add Sonic's parents since I'm still figuring things out) Scourge the hedgehog Fiona Fox The Freedom Fighters (Bunnie, Nicole, Antoine etc.) Mina Mongoose Shard the Metal Sonic Razor The Shark Coral the Betta Pearly the Manta Ray Honey the Cat Nack and his gang Hope Kintobor Rob O' the Hedge Some of the Echidna clan (which is honestly a huge maybe because I want Knuckles to have at least SOME of his people alive) Snively Robotnik (Also a huge maybe) ..and that's it so far! I'll update the list if I forgot a character. Some of the character's backstories are a mix of what Archie had and what the post-genesis wave had for them. For example, during the war with Eggman, King Max sent his wife Alicia and their son Elias to Angel Island to escape to safety when Sally was a baby. When they crash landed, and were presumed dead, Max groomed Sally to be the next heir for the Acorn kingdom until her father was banished in The Special Zone years later, he came back though. Alicia and Elias came back the same way they did in the Archie comics. Another thing to know is that some of my ocs, and their species, are in this au as well! The species is called Novians, they coexist with the equestrians. My OC's that exist in this au Isis Minorel Pacifica Catrine Jackson Somber and a few more that I haven't introduced yet! Jack and Isis are not energy vampires in this au but they still have their powers. NOW ONTO THE PLOT!! ~__________________________~ Basic Information: In this au, the Mane 7 are all sisters and Celestia is their mother, Isis is their adopted sister and Derpy is their first cousin, making her Luna's daughter. Celestia is queen of the equestrian humans, while Luna and Cadence are her royal advisors. Jack's father, Fredrick Somber is the monarch for all of the Novian species, he has a good friendship with Celestia. They reside in the kingdom of Equestria on Mobius, while the Seaquestrians live in the deep blue ocean not too far from where the kingdoms reside. They aren't from Mobius originally, they come from their own separate planet but it became uninhabitable. The equestrians are on peaceful terms with most of the species on the planet, especially the Mobians, and do whatever they can to help. Equestrian Human Species Info: Equestrian humans look the same in the original EG movie but the difference is that they have abilities based on their pony counterparts. Pegasi-based Equestrian humans can summon their wings at will, just like how Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy did in the first movie and so on. Magic-based (AKA unicorns) Equestrian humans can use their magical abilities to lift things or use them as a weapon for self defense, they DO NOT have horns. Earth-based Equestrian humans are just like regular humans but with a slight enhance of strength. Alicorn-based is just magic and pegasi mixed together. The Mane 7 and the Elements of Harmony: The Elements of Harmony were assigned to the 7 princesses at birth, much different to how the elements were assigned to their previous users. There are seven elements: Honesty Kindness Magic Laughter Loyalty Generosity Forgiveness There used to be six, but their late father had unleashed the element because of his forgiving nature and heart. Isis doesn't have an element but is still considered very powerful. ALL of the Mane 7's abilities in this au are the same powers they have in the fourth movie and mini series, the only difference is that they don’t transform unless they use their elements. They do have different transformation designs throughout the story, like how Sailor Moon does. I wanted Sunset's element to be forgiveness because she started out as an arrogant and cruel person when she was introduced. After her defeat, she had worked so hard to not only become a better person, but to also receive forgiveness from the people around her, including herself. Sunset is the literal reason why this au exists and I love her for that. An important fact about Sunset is that she has pyrokinetic powers in this au, which she inherited from her mother. It is dubbed, The Royal Flame. Pyrokinetic Abilities - Can control ANY kind of fire - Can breathe in fire - Can control her body temperature in cold weather - Her fire won't burn people she trusts, unless she commands it too - If she gets wet her powers won't work for a little while - When angry or frustrated, her body gets super hot - If she becomes emotionally unstable, she turns into her she-demon form, it happened once Mane 7 Ages and Birthdays (From oldest to youngest) (These birthdays are not canon to MLP, I made them up)
Sunset Shimmer: Age: 19 D.O.B: June 16th Species: Alicorn-based (yes she has wings sHHH-
Applejack: Age: 19 D.O.B: November 29th Species: Earth-based
(Isis would be here)
Rarity: Age: 18 D.O.B: February 14th Species: Magic-based
Fluttershy & Rainbow Dash: Age: Both 17 D.O.B: March 4th Species: Pegasai-based
Pinkie Pie: Age: 16 D.O.B: April 1st Species: Earth-based
Twilight Sparkle: Age: 15 D.O.B: December 3rd Species: Magic-based
((Before you ask, equestrian humans reproduce fast and the gestation period is at least 6-7 months)) Relationships this is what happens when the creator is a huge shipper-
Sunset Shimmer x Shadow the hedgehog (ShadowShimmer)
Sonic x Isis (Sonisis)
Pacifica x Jet the Hawk (Jetcifica)
Jack x Blaze the Cat (Jackaze)
Applejack x Elias Acorn (EliJack)
Rarity x Knuckles the Echidna (Knuxity)
Fluttershy x beret-wearing jackal from the Jackal Squad (Crimshy)
((Crimson is my headcanon name for him))
Rainbow Dash x Gadget the Wolf (GadgetDash)
Pinkie Pie x Espio the Chameleon (EspioPie)
Twilight Sparkle x Silver the Hedgehog (SilverSparkle)
Celestia x Infinite (Celestifinte)
Derpy Hooves x Scourge the Hedgehog (Derpourge)
Princess Skystar x Razor the Shark (Skyzor) ((I haven't seen the movie yet so please no spoilers))
Zecora x Uncle Chuck?? and many more I have yet to introduce~ ~~~~~~~~~ History: Before they arrived on Mobius, the Equestrian humans weren't just one of Mobius' "inhabitants" and Equestria wasn't just a series of kingdoms. Oh no, it was once an entire planet bursting with life. The Equestrian race and the other inhabitants of the planet, Novians, coexisted together in peaceful tranquility. Throughout the years the two species would adapt and expand, turning villages into towns, towns to cities, cities to kingdoms. With the Novians vast knowledge of elements  and alternative fuel, and the Equestrians intelligent and superb skills in magic, it seemed that it would be perfect... but like all harmonious times, the destructive flames of war will soon come when unexpected and burn it all to the ground. There was another species among the Equestrians, Novians and Seaquestrians. They were the Centaurs. The Centaur race currently has a very rocky relationship with most of the other races from Equestria, the reason why is because of one single Centaur, Tirek. Many years ago, when he was just an organizer at a scroll store, Tirek had a huge dislike towards the Equestrian race, he hated them because the Centaurs didn't have much land nor much help at all. He thought they were selfish and greedy, hogging all the land for themselves and not leaving any for his people. He studied the arts of Dark Magic along with his brother Scorpan who also shared the same disdain for them as he did,  Once Tirek mastered it he had a battle to the death with the Centauran leader with him being the victor, after he disposed of him he took it upon himself to become the new leader of the Centaurs and wage war on the Equestrians and every other race that dared go against him. The Centaur War was the most brutal war ever, countless soldiers were killed, innocents were slaughtered, and kingdoms had fallen.Scorpan, now seeing the consequences of all of this tried reasoning with him. Feeling betrayed, Tirek murdered him out of anger and continued with his plans. For many, many years the Equestrians and Novians had fought long and hard but it seemed that they had reached a stalemate, they started to lose hope. It wasn''t until Galactus Centauri, a vigilante from the Crystal Empire had stepped in to help. Without knowing it, his kind heart and forgiving nature had revealed the lost element of harmony, Forgiveness. With the power of the 7th element, Galactus, Celestia and the other elements of Harmony had forced the Centaurs into submission. Most of them gave up and surrendered to the Equestrians, but not Tirek. Tirek, along with his minions and followers had disappeared. After they left for the time being, Galactus and Celestia married and had seven beautiful girls which would later on be eight when they adopt a 5 year old Novian orphan named Isis. Things seem to slowly get better for the Equestrians.....until Zecora had a horrifying vision. She had quickly told the king and queen that the planet was slowly dying and forming dangerous volcano's everywhere, the reason being all of the magic Tirek took during the war. She stated that in approximately 7 months the planet would become nothing more than a volcanic wasteland. With no time to lose they informed every citizen and species on Equestria that they will be evacuating the planet. Every spaceship was filled with Equestrians, Novians, the animals that were saved, and even some Centaurs. Galactus thought it would be okay, that they would finally be free from the war, and Tirek. Until he heard that his daughters Pinkie Pie and Sunset Shimmer were kidnapped by the centaur warlord. Galactus and a few soldiers went on a rescue mission to save them, unbeknownst to them that the volcano's were coming toward to where they were. In the end, Galactus, Sunset and Pinkie were the only ones who escaped Tirek. When they had reached their home castle the ships had already left because it turns out that planet's core was ready to burst early. After confronting, and defeating, Tirek once again in the castle, the three had reached to a magic teleportation chamber. There was another chamber on the ship that could teleport them back, but it required a lot of magic to do so. Galactus was heavily injured from his battle with Tirek, he didn't have time to heal because a volcano had formed under the castle and would burst any second. He had to act quick, he only had enough magic to teleport two people. So with every last bit of his magic and energy he teleported a heartbroken Sunset Shimmer and Pinkie Pie back on the ship, leaving him to die as soon as they were gone. Equestria had mourned for it's lost king and their lost home, but soon they would find a new home, with new allies and new foes as well. They would rebuild, adapt, expand and help those in need, just like they did all those years ago.... ANNNND THAT'S MY AU FOLKS!! I HOPE TO DRAW IT REAL SOON! I didn't go into full detail on the history part because I want to keep some things secret for now ;3 I really hope you love it as much as I do!! I poured my heart and soul into this au, it's one of the best creations I've ever made ;v; it felt so good to pour out all of this after keeping it to myself for so many years, especially the ships TwT Feel free to ask questions and tell me what you think! ^O^/

Personality Raptor's very intelligent and compassionate, being the one who is always willing to listen to another's problems and try to find a solution, even at his own expense. He's very loyal to Team Wonder Warriors and does everything he can to contribute to his allies, even if it means putting his life on the line. Raptor may appear to be fully matured but he's still a baby dragon since Winged Regal Dragons reach adulthood at the age of one hundred. Meaning, he can be emotional sometimes.
Likes
When he's not busy assisting his team, Raptor enjoys discovering new things and learning about the world around him. He often spends time researching different aspects Mobius, both the Hidden Emerald Dimension and the mainworld, such as different natural phenomena, ancient history, and even health science for different species. He also likes to collect ancient artifacts with plenty of historical background and/or sentimental value, like scrolls and old swords. Raptor even has a bit of artistic side, leading to a pleasure in creating different things. He's always trying to practice with his magical abilities to create new attributal spells as well as crafting different potions and medicine. He even loves to bask in the art of cooking. With all of that in mind, Raptor has a lot of different hobbies but it never seems to deter him from spending time from his best friend, as he always likes a nice training session with Rosie whenever the opportunity rises.
Dislikes
Raptor has a pretty rough past and often does not like being reminded of what happened to him when he was a younger child. Because of what happened to him way back then, he tends to be very empathic and hates to see other children abandoned or orphaned, without a family to look after them. He views his family and friends as personal treasures and doesn't like to see any harm befall upon any of them. Backstory Raptor was raised in the Hidden Emerald Dimension, born into a royal family in a mystical mountainous region, primarily run by dragons, known as Dragon Valley. He was quite shy as a young lizard and spent most of his time with his father, King Dracon, and his mother, Queen Taria. His life was pretty normal until his jealous, evil uncle, Mange, barged into his home to steal his father's throne. After a long battle, Dracon was defeated Mange took the throne, resulting in Dracon and Taria being imprisoned and Raptor banished to barren, arid Badlands, seen as useless. Raptor soon found himself all alone, left to die in the desert area, until his cousin, Veloci, who was exploring the area for a travel guide, found him and helped him out of the Badlands. The young dragon was desperate and told Veloci about how his parents were robbed of their throne and how he was cast away to die. Not wanting things to end like this, Veloci took Raptor under her wing, taught him how to fight through Wrestling, Judo, and Kung Fu, as well as introducing him magic. After several months of training, Raptor decided to go back to Dragon Valley, accompanied by Veloci, and face his evil uncle in a final duel to save his family. Thanks to all that he learned from his cousin, Raptor was able to defeat his evil uncle and free his parents, bringing the family back together again and winning back the throne. A few years later, Raptor wanted to step away from Dragon Valley for a while and see the outside world. He left the comforts of his home and traveled to a cool spring near Aura Town, where he met Rosie the Echidna, who was training near the water. Having admired the young, martial artist echidna's dedication and persistence in her practice, Raptor decided to say hello to her and soon the two in locked into a long, pleasant conversation. The two realized they had a lot in common and spent the whole day together, strolling through the town, stopping for sushi and, eventually, spending the night in Rosie's family dojo. The day after, while taking a short flight over a forest region, Raptor spotted Rosie again but this time, instead of a peaceful encounter, she was attacked and ganged up on by members of a rogue dojo. He knew how it felt to be all alone in a troubled situation so he took action immediately and dove into the fight, scaring off the attackers and saving his new friend. He didn't waste any time taking her back to her home and helping her recover, using a healing spell. As much as she and her sister were grateful for the young dragon's help, Rosie felt powerless and began to give lose hope in herself, having gone through many years, beaten by other martial artists and being viewed as the weakest fighter around. Raptor didn't want to leave his new friend in this state so, with the help of Rosie's sisters, he used his magic to jumpstart the energy deep within her body and help her achieve her True Potential. From that day forward, the two have been the best of friends and did almost everything together. Through the following years, Raptor created a giant tower of clouds in the sky to serve as his home, the Sky Tower, above Aura Town so he could remain in close vicinity with Rosie, as well contribute to the area below, using his magic powers to resolve the problems of others. He made sure to maintain his friendship with Rosie and swoops in to visit her, from time to time. The two eventually forged a team together, Team Wonder Warriors, to protect the entire dimension from danger and help all individuals in need. Whatever the situation may be, Raptor always makes sure to offer his assistance to others. ~*Social Info*~ AffIliation Raptor is one of the founding members of a freedom-fighting team of the Hidden Emerald Dimension, known as the Wonder Warriors, led by his best friend, Rosie the Echidna. He is well-appreciated as the main head of intelligence of the group as well as the main source of transportation, being able to carry many passengers on his back while in the air. Relationship Status Raptor is single, not in a relationship with anyone yet. Love Interest Raptor had developed a crush with Sally Acorn after seeing how well she treated her biological niece, and his adopted sister, Vanill the Squirrel. While he was observing the two together, he began to notice the admirable traits of Sally such as her kindness and responsible nature and was even won over when she happily helps Vanill practice her martial arts, being a fighter herself. Raptor had grown feelings for her ever since. ~*Combat Info*~ Powers Pyrokinesis/Cryokinesis (in colder temperatures)
Fire is Raptor's primary attribute under normal conditions, allowing him to breathe powerful fire from his mouth and control flames at will. However, he is also among the few non-Water attribute HED Mobians that can actually change their primary type in accordance to the climate change. When the weather around him grows cold, especially in the winter, his attribute shifts to a Water attribute, giving him the ability to wield ice attacks and gives his techniques a cold touch.
Magical Abilities and Alchemy
While in exile, Raptor has been trained by his cousin, Veloci, in the art of necromancy, giving him the power to use his attribute to cast magic spells for various effects. He can use utilize alchemy, using it to summon many different objects, elements, and even transform certain items into different ones
Enhanced Durability
Raptor is brick tough.  Enough said.  Having developed enough endurance to put the rest of his family to shame, this dragon can tank viciously powerful blows and still stand back up for more.  Unless the attacks have a lot of force behind them or the opponent has enough speed to deal a bunch of successful blows at once, one is going to have a lot of trouble keeping Raptor down.
Skills
Martial Arts Knowledge
As fellow HED Mobians, Veloci definitely made sure to train Raptor in hand-to-hand combat.  More specifically, in the art of Doragon Resuringu or Dragon Wrestling, which is basically the equivalent of Shootboxing developed by a clan of dragons in his homeland. It combined the hard-hitting techniques of Muay Thai with that of Wrestling, meaning Raptor knows how to strike and grapple well.  This trait only got better when he became friends with Rosie, for he was able to further his fighting skills and learn a few more fighting styles.
Swordsmanship
Martial arts and magic aren’t the only things that Veloci taught Raptor.  After many days of practicing with wooden swords, he is also trained in the art of Swordplay.  He is highly skilled with a blade and can hold his own in a sword fight.
Experienced Chemist
Raptor is competent and capable of handling many different liquid substances and chemicals in order to make something new. He often combines this skill with his magic to forge many different kinds of potions to aid his allies.
Omnilingualism
Raptor can understand and fluently speak almost any language spoken by mobians and humans, especially Latin which he uses to cast his magic spells.
Weapons/Tools Dragon Sword - A sharp and sturdy sword made from Raptor's magic. It has a solid, silver blade and blue handle, or tang, a red-orange and yellow fire-shaped tang shoulder with a fire-shaped emblem in the middle. Also, when he holds it aloft and says, "By the power of the dragon," his attributal power increases gradually.
Strengths Being a Winged Regal Dragon, Raptor's body is very tanky and tough, making him able to endure attacks very well and sometimes is capable of taking physical blows without even flinching. It takes someone with great strength to be able to damage him. He also possesses a great amount of physical strength, an acute sense of smell and excellent hearing, thanks to his bat-like ears.
Resistance
His attribute allows him to better shrug off plant-based and/or natural energy attacks without a problem, especially with his kind of endurance.  When his attribute changes in the winter time, he can, instead, endure pyrokinetic attacks a lot better.
Weaknesses
As a Fire attributer, Raptor is more vulnerable against water and earth attacks, meaning he's more easily harmed by said attributes,  When he shifts to a Water attributer from cold climate changes, he's no longer weak to water but is, instead, vulnerable to Plant-based energy, a.k.a. the Forest attribute.  Plus, as tough as he is, there’s only so much punishment he’s able to stand at once.  If his opponent is able to successfully land blow after blow on him, he’ll eventually start to feel the pressure. Invulnerablities
Raptor doesn't exactly have much in the Invulnerability department, besides a HED Mobian's naturally sturdy and impenetrable body.
Transformations/Forms
Attribute Shift/Winter Form
This is the internal change that happens within Raptor’s very being when the season eventually changes to winter.  Upon exposure to the colder climate change, his attribute silently shifts from the Fire Attribute to the Water Attribute.  He doesn’t experience a flashy appearance change nor does he feel a sudden energy change in his body but he eventually notices the form shift when his fire attack attacks shifted into cryokinetic ice attacks
Ancient Transformation/War Dragon Form
An ancient power that has blessed onto Raptor’s bloodline, awakened through the power of his sword when he first held it aloft in the Jade Tower, north of the Pyron Kingdom.  When he holds his sword up high and lets out spirited battle cry, the energy within the blade shrouds his entire body with a super-hot flame until his appearance changes, marking the shift into his enhanced form: War Dragon Raptor.  His fur changes from purple to black, his eyes turn bright red, and two red stripes appear on both ends of his muzzle, hot to the touch.  His already high endurance gets a big boost, as well as his strength and speed, and his firepower is drastically enhanced.  The intensity of his flames is so great, he can even neutralize the effect of weaker water/ice attacks, taking no damage from them at all!  Like all Legend transformations, his form is not completely invulnerable so if he actually happens to take too much damage and can’t fight anymore, it will disappear.

The Tale of Roy and Samantha: Episode One
Introduction:
Greetings, Reader, I am here today and for quite a few days hence to tell you the Tale of Roy and Samantha,
Our story takes place on Mobius; though not the Mobius you and I know today, instead, this is a Mobius of an alternate series of events. With some things very similar to the one we know and some things very much so different, but here, as it is there, the tyranny of Eggman and the courage of Sonic and his allies both play a major role in how this story unfolds.
Chapter One:
The sun sat like a red blot on the horizon. With plenty of space in which to play in the Mobian sky, the clouds formed broad plains of tall, precarious towers that glowed pink and gold like frozen blooms of fire over the sleepy village of Knothole. The final and only bastion of freedom before the all-consuming might of Robotnik.
With feet crunching over a once lush field of green, Reggie, a young tan colored fox breathed heavily. His breath fogged up in the chilling air as he trudged through a thick layer of snowfall which was silhouetted by the angry red light of the rising sun. Eventually, he stood before the front door of his parent's home.
"Roy," he said, banging on the knocker. "Let me in!"
A loud grown followed and Reggie heard the dragging of feet and grumbling. The door opened "Five a.m.," Roy grumbled as he rubbed his bleary eyes, talking to himself as much as to his sibling "And it was a very good dream too…"
Reggie merely pulled his well-worn baseball cap over his eyes and laughed.
"Reggie, take that stupid thing off your face and shut up." Roy's eyes burned. He rubbed them once more and struggled to concentrate on what he was going to say next "Did you even attend training yesterday or call in sick as usual?"
"Yeah, yeah. I did. Don't blow a gasket," Reggie propped an elbow against the sun-cracked door frame and pulled his cap off "So, you promised to show me your newest invention." Reggie stated matter-of-factly.
"That wasn't what I agreed to, what I remember is you saying that I`ll show you and then assuming that I would without letting me say anything." Roy corrected his brother.
"But you're going to show me anyway, right?" Reggie asked.
How did I get roped into this? Roy thought before, with much reluctance, he finally muttered, "Fine."
"What am I looking for exactly?" Reggie asked curiously.
Roy's workshop was dim and musty. Dust motes swam in beams of sunlight angling through a few gaps in the rough wooden walls. This was usually a place where Roy could unwind as he tinkered, but as he had visitors it was now a source of frustration. Roy bent down and put his hands on his knees so she could look his younger sibling in the eye. "We're in Mom's workshop. I don't know what you're expecting, but I'm an inventor, not a magician."
Looking past his elder sibling, Reggie pointed at the equipment chest that was in Roy`s room, which was adjacent to the workshop room. "Ooh yes! Now I can use that rifle you built!" Reggie shouted with glee as he started for it.
"Hold up, no, you`re not touching that, not after that incident with my machine-assist boots." Roy stated as he stepped into his brother`s path.
"Hey, that happened when I was ten, I`m twelve now." Reggie protested as he made for the chest again.
"Not happening, little brother," Roy stated, skillfully acting as a goalie between his brother and his room.
Reggie groaned. "You've gotten worse than Mom."
"Tch, fine.” Roy muttered under his breath, "Look, I'll compromise by letting you be the guinea pig for my shield emitter, I built it yesterday and I haven`t had a chance to test it yet."
"Awesome! Your newest stuff is always the coolest!" Roy said with glee, though he kept his voice down this time to avoid waking up their slumbering parents.
"Come on, I have a hill that is the perfect testing ground, it`s just behind the Freedom Fighter barracks." Roy said as he put on his gloves and shoes, motioning for Reggie to follow,
"Awesome!" Reggie said as he followed Roy out of the workshop
"Hold on, you gotta` get your coat on," Reggie mentioned when they reached the foyer of their home.
"Oh, yeah, it's cold out. The weather has been so unpredictable these days … thanks." Roy said as he went to retrieve his coat. Upon donning his winter coat, packs and after he got his equipment on, Roy gave the go ahead and Reggie cracked opened the front door.
On the other side, they saw a blanket of snow covering the peaceful and familiar village of Knothole, the gleam of the sunrise on the white snow a pleasant sight to behold as the two foxes went on their way. Reggie was pent up with excitement as they neared the Freedom Fighter`s barracks.
"Here we are," Roy declared when they reached the hill.
"So, how are we going to test your shield? There`s nowhere flat enough for it to work" Reggie asked, looking at the very large hill that was completely covered in snow,
"Oh, I think you'll like this " Roy said as he brought his new shield emitter out of his pack, a round silver item with a large silver button in the center, the emitter itself was attached to a leather belt as its buckle,"but first we need to climb to the top."
Fueled by excitement, Reggie ascended the hill in record time, reaching the summit before Roy had made it even halfway. When he got to the top, Roy feigned breathlessness "Dude, you might be as fast as Sonic." He said, causing Reggie to blush.
Roy scanned his surroundings, and when he was certain there were no obstacles to the bottom of the hill he turned to his brother "Now, I've set the emitter so that it activates right before collision with another object " Roy elaborated as he attached it to Reggie`s waist "So, don't freak out alright?"
"Why would I freak -" Reggie asked before he received a mighty shove and with arms flailing fell off the side of the hill, but right before Reggie made contact with the hillside, the shield emitter began to glow a pale blue-white and a barely visible, hollow sphere developed around him, causing Reggie to roll down the hill at a considerable pace, landing at the bottom in record time,
Roy heard neither hide nor hair of his brother and after a few moments of dreadful silence later, Roy panicked and made his way down the hill, fearing the worst. When he reached the foot of the hill, Roy saw a perfectly round ball of snow at the bottom, but no sign of Reggie.
What have I done? Roy thought, he wanted to get Reggie out of the snow before it suffocated him, but he was too afraid of what he might see if he cleared the snow off,
Then a voice came from the ball of snow, "Dude; that was so cool!"
Roy hurriedly cleared a window of snow from the sphere and saw Reggie suspended in the center, the shield emitter glowing brightly, "Why didn`t you say you were okay?!" Roy as he cleared more snow off of the sphere, he felt both annoyed and relieved.
"I wanted to freak you out," Reggie admitted.
"That`s wasn't funny at all!" Roy grumbled.
"How do you turn this thing off, anyway?" Reggie asked, still floating there in the center of the shield.
"I don`t know, I think that you being stuck there is so funny that it totally slipped my mind," Roy replied sarcastically.
"Hey, you can`t just leave me here!" Reggie whined,
"I don`t know, I could…" Roy said teasingly, pretending to start walking away,
"Hey, I`m gonna` tell Mom!" Reggie said as he started to flail around in the shield bubble,
"Look, I`m just messing with you" Roy assuaged, "press the button in the center of the shield emitter to turn it off." He explained. Reggie complied, and when he pressed the button the shield suddenly vanished, leaving him to land face-first in the snow with a thud.
"Owie, you did that on purpose!" Reggie complained as he brushed the snow off of his face and coat.
"Ok, I didn`t plan that, but that was really funny," Roy replied laughingly.
"No, it wasn`t," Reggie complained.
"Oh, yes it was." Roy teased,
The argument continued in that vein for some time, filling the air with a plethora of “yes it was`es” and “no it wasn`ts” until they both had calmed down.
"Let`s do that again!" Reggie said, promptly climbing the hill once more.
"Hey, wait up!" Roy shouted as he went up the hill as well.
For another hour or two, they both took turns wearing the shield emitter and pushing each other down the hill and have a great time doing it, but all this ended when Reggie accidentally crashed through the Freedom Fighter`s barracks, waking all those inside and causing the alarm to go off.
Within moments, the two were surrounded by every soldier in the barracks, each one in full combat gear, ready to fight off the invasion that they were absolutely sure was commencing.
When they saw that it was just Roy and Reggie, their readiness to defend Knothole turned to anger towards the both of them.
"What in the Master Emerald`s name are you doing here?!" Spoke a large Mobian Crow who appeared to be the commander of the Knothole army he marched his way over to the two of them.
"I am so sorry, Jeff, we were just playing and it got out of hand, it won`t happen again." Roy apologized.
"I`ve had just about enough of your nonsense and false apologies, Roy, running around with your roboticized boots and gloves…" Jeff snapped at Roy, cutting him off mid-sentence, "…and now you`ve taken to attacking Freedom Fighter property; you know, you`re looking more and more like one of Robotnik's cronies every day!"
At Jeff`s scolding, Roy became both enraged, hurt and more than a bit surprised at the suddenness of it all; it was as if the crow had rehearsed this, "Hey, you take that back!" said Reggie in defense of his brother,
"Like we`re gonna listen to the brother of an Eggman wannabe!" said Jeff, causing all of the other Freedom Fighters to start shouting words of agreement. Angry at being called that, Roy balled up his fists, causing his gloves to activate and glow a bright blue at their knuckles. When he saw this, Jeff smiled for a split second at the fact that his goading was working, but he wiped it away before anyone saw before saying, "So, you`re going to attack me, huh?" he hissed at Roy.
"Leave me and my brother and I alone, Jeff," Roy said in warning.
"Stay out of this, giving Roy more time to betray us? I don`t think so." Jeff stated, retrieving a halberd from its holder on his back and bringing it to bear.
It seemed a fight was about to break out, but before anything happened, a commanding voice called out from the crowd, "That`s just about enough!" boomed the female voice.
When they heard this, both Jeff and Roy turned to see a female chipmunk step through the crowd and into the center. When he saw her, Jeff immediately dropped his weapon and saluted, as did the other Freedom Fighters.
"Princess Acorn, I-I-" Jeff stammered.
"Please, it`s just Sally…" she spoke gently, then she looked at both Roy and Jeff before continuing "…what is going on here?" she said, this time in a much more commanding tone.
"We were playing on the hill and we accidentally crashed through the back wall of the barracks," explained Roy.
But before Sally could say anything, Jeff interjected, "You`re not going to believe this freak, are you!? He attacked the barracks on purpose and his brother is an accomplice!" he said, pointing at Roy and Reggie accusatorily.
Roy was about to say something in protest, but he stopped when he saw that Sally had slightly raised her hand, signaling for everyone to be quiet,
"I`ve heard enough," Sally said, "Jeff, I think you`re overreacting a bit."
"Are you just going to get away with it?!" Jeff protested, pointing at Roy again.
"I never said that…" Sally replied while taking a quick look at the damage to the barracks, then she turned to face Roy and continued, "…Roy, while it was most likely an accident, you did damage the barracks and endanger your brother, so I am forced to relegate you to exile from our village for one whole day as punishment for the damage you caused."
Roy said nothing.
"Well then, I request the duty of escorting him out of our village," Jeff said, his voice dripping with malice.
"No, you will not, Jeff -" Sally replied curtly, "-as of this point, your duty is to supervise the repair of the barracks."
Sally pointed to one of her Freedom Fighters "You there, Hershey, you are to escort Roy to our borders and to make sure that he does not re-enter the village until exactly twenty-hours have passed."
"Yes, ma`am!" Hershey said; as she promptly took Roy by the arm. Then Sally picked another Freedom Fighter from the crowd, "Hamlin, escort Reggie to his home and inform Roy`s parents of what has just happened."
Without a word, Hershey started to usher Roy away, despite Reggie's protests.
"Don`t worry, Reggie, it`s only a day!" he reassured his distraught younger sibling
Sensing that her job here was done, Sally left without another word so she could go back to sleep, she had already dealt with a long night of brainstorming and this whole mess was not helping any. When he saw that Sally was out of earshot, Jeff decided that he would have the final word, "Oh, I think you deserve far worse, but who am I to disobey her highness." Jeff said.
"Leave me alone," Roy said, not even bothering to look at Jeff,
"Oh, that`s a laugh, you, telling me to leave you alone, after all of the meddling that your family has done over the years-" The crow hissed provokingly.
"That`s quite enough, sir," Hershey interrupted.
"What, you`re defending this traitor?!" Jeff snapped at Hershey.
"I am neither defending him nor condemning him, I am simply following the written law." Hershey replied.
"And what laws would those be?" Jeff asked.
"That all exiled persons are to be shunned and never spoken to -" Hershey explained.
"Bah, I don`t know what part of the law book you`ve been stuffing your nose in at night, but fine, I have no need to converse with an Eggman wannabe anyway." Jeff said before returning to the village in a huff.
After she was sure that Jeff was out of earshot, Hershey spoke, "You know I lied, right?"
"Lied about what?" Roy asked.
"I lied about that rule; you know, the one saying that exiles are to be shunned," she replied,
"Why would you do that?" Roy asked, not really getting the point,
"Well, two reasons: one, I wanted to get Jeff to go away and two, your family has done so much for our village, I just had to repay them somehow; getting 'the Jeff' off your back seemed like a good way to do it," Hershey explained,
"Hold on a moment; what`s going on with you calling him 'the Jeff' anyway?" Roy asked chuckling.
"Oh, right, Jeff had a reputation for driving his trainees so hard that on average, eight out of ten of `em would quit in the first week of training…" Hershey explained, "…and this was all before the Eggman showed up."
"Wait a moment, you mean there was a time before that monster was around?" Roy asked, surprised, "…I`ve always heard that he was an immortal demon that took your soul and put it into a machine to act as his puppet." He added,
"Oh, yeah, that children`s story…" she remarked, "…nope, according to Jeff, the Eggman appeared about fifty years ago and at first was considered an ally to us Mobians, but then we found out that he just wanted to use our talents to take over the rest of the world; when we refused, that`s when the Eggman decided to start roboticizing folks to force them to do what he wanted anyway; it all seemed like it was over, but then Sonic appeared about twenty-five years ago; the rest is history."
"Why wasn`t anyone told about this?" Roy asked,
"Well, the whole story wasn`t really kept from us on purpose, not really…" Hershey explained, "…it just most people didn't want to tell their children or simply didn`t want to admit that they were once allies with the greatest nightmare of our age."
For a while, neither of them talked, Roy was still trying to process recent events while Hershey simply had nothing else she wanted to say. After a while, Roy could not help but ask, "Why is all this happening?" he asked.
"What do you mean?" Hershey asked in reply.
"Why am I being exiled for a day and not get thrown into the brig" Roy replied, "this isn't standard procedure, is it?"
"Do you think I'm a mind reader? I have theories but -" Hershey replied.
"What kind of theories?" Roy asked.
"Gossip actually, that you venerate Eggman, but I never believed it" she replied, "…besides, no offense, but I don't think you're anywhere near as smart as him."
"But I`ve been trying to give you some tips and weapons and no one would listen; they`d just say something about how I`m defiling the premise of the Freedom Fighters and then act like what I just said didn`t matter," Roy complained, "…and now I`m getting exiled because of my ideas!"
"Hey, don`t look at me, I never get one say or another concerning how things are run around here, nor do I want to…" Hershey replied, "…but from what I heard, there`s a new Freedom Fighter that`s making some headway into changing that."
"Who?" Roy asked,
"Come to think of it I didn't catch the name, but I'm fairly certain it started with an N…" Hershey replied,
"Tch, well that`s really helpful, thanks," Roy said sarcastically,
"Alright, if you`re gonna be like that, then just shut up until we can both go home." Hershey said.
The two did not speak any further until they reached a row of wooden posts that marked the village limit.
"Be back here in approximately twenty-three hours, and I'll escort you back." Hershey ordered Roy.
"It`s been an hour already? I didn`t think that we`d been walking that long." Roy inquired,
"Look, my orders are to take you out of town, not walk you to Robotropolis." Hershey replied.
"Well, gee, that`s very generous of you," Roy remarked sarcastically,
"Just be patient…" Hershey said, "…home isn't going anywhere." With that, Hershey found a comfortable spot and sat down to keep an eye on Roy. Deciding it was best to sleep his sentence away, Roy laid his head down next to a tree and shortly thereafter, fell asleep…
Quite sometime later, Roy awoke to booming sounds in the distance.
"Roy, get up!" Hershey shouted when she saw Roy was awake.
Roy stood up to see Hershey staring into the forest, After standing up the rest of the way Roy saw it as well: sporadic flashes of light, coinciding with the booming sounds, as well as smoke billowing over the top of the trees.
"Is, that the way to Knothole?" Roy asked, his voice slightly shuddering at the frightening possibility,
"Yes," Hershey replied shakily.
"We have to get home." Roy stated.
"If there's still a home left after all this," she replied in a quivering tone.
The pair ran all the way to the village in just under a minute, only to be greeted by a terrible sight: the village of Knothole marched upon by hundreds of Swatbots and Robian; laying waste to everything in their path.
In the distance, Hershey spotted a hopeful sign of life: a group of ragged refugees slipping away amid the chaos. "Roy, we have to help them.” She said, but when she turned around, Roy was already heading further into the village, towards his own house and by extension the robotic menace.
Hershey quickly gave chase, catching up to him in the span of a heartbeat, grabbing him by the shoulder and spinning around to face her tear streaked face. "Roy, stop! Whoever's back there. They're gone!" Hershey shouted as she tried to usher him away to safety.
"Let go of me; I have to help him!" Roy stated, brushing her aside and continuing forward.
Before Hershey could reply, a trio of Swatbots crashed through a nearby building and onto the road; one of them took aim with its wrist-mounted laser rifle and fired a bright red beam of light at them.
"Run!" as Hershey yelled as he quickly pushed Roy away from the shot, just barely avoiding certain death herself as she squeezed off two rounds from her hunting rifle back at the Swatbots, but both ricocheted off without leaving so much as a scratch on their black chrome finishes. Hershey grabbed ahold of Roy and darted into an alleyway as quickly as she could as dozens of deadly beams of light filled the street behind her.
"Why are we heading further into the village?" Roy asked worriedly.
"Now`s really not the time for questions, move!" Hershey replied before she ushered Roy between the buildings and away from the assailants. When they reached the other side, Hershey directed Roy to a nearby building on the other side of the street, "Stay inside, I`ll draw them away, then when they`re gone, you use this and find your way north." Hershey instructed Roy before handing him a compass with a black leather casing.
"Why head north?" Roy asked.
"Because that`s-" She was about to reply before a bright flash of red light blinded the both of them and smashed the building next to them.
When the dust settled, Roy found himself alone, Hershey was nowhere to be found, though presumably buried under the nearby rubble.
Before Roy could react, however, another flash of light struck the other building next to him, forcing him to start running again.
The three Swatbots were now much closer, though to Roy`s benefit, he now had two buildings worth of rubble between him and them, but that wasn`t going to be enough, as one of the bots cleared the rubble away with a single swipe, sending pieces of brick flying some thirty blocks away.
Roy turned around just in time to see this and was knocked completely unconscious by a flying chunk of brick, and saw no more…
…Roy awoke quite sometime later, only to find himself trapped in a pile of building materials,
Roy looked around, but no matter where he searched, he could find no trace of an escape route, just darkness and suffocation.
Roy started to panic and begin to hyperventilate as he scrambled for a way out. He moved aside rock and rubble in the immediate vicinity of his paws before coming to the realization that he was no closer to escaping his predicament than before. "Calm down; perhaps this is a good thing, if I can`t see outside, then the bots outside can`t see in." He said to himself.
Then a thought struck him: his family is still out there with those things, Roy reviewed his surroundings one more time, but couldn't find a way out, "Come on, what am I missing, what am I mis- oh, yeah, I forgot!" Roy said, taking his backpack off and rummaging through it. Roy retrieved a set of high-tech goggles from his backpack, put them on and pressed a button on the side of them; instantly, the darkness around him was replaced by the somewhat comforting green glow of infrared vision.
"Now to gather some details…" Roy muttered aloud as he pressed another button on the underside of his goggles, he now saw an ultrasonic image of the pile of rubble he was trapped in.
"Hmm, there`s only about two feet of rock above me..." Roy said, "…now to find a way to get it off of me." Roy thought for only a split second before coming to a solution: he would blast his way out.
"But how can I do that without plastering myself in the process?" Roy asked himself, "I know, the shield emitter, that`ll work!" Roy exclaimed, snapping his fingers,
Roy took the shield emitter out of his pack and fastened it to his belt, "Well, here goes nothing." Roy remarked as he pressed the button on the emitter. In an instant, the rubble cleared with the explosive force of several tons of TNT, sending bits and pieces flying in all directions,
But when the dust settled and Roy got back on his feet, the sight that greeted him was terribly sobering indeed,
There was no real trace of Knothole left, just a snow-covered wasteland,
The ashes from the devastated village coalesced with the fallen snow, painting everything a hideous dull gray. Bits of blackened wood and brick dotted the landscape and a small fire burned here and there for good measure.
Roy simply stood there for a moment before plopping himself on the ground in defeat. There was nothing for him to save and his family was quite likely long dead, so what was the point?
Roy decided that it was best to just wait for exposure to do him in, it being winter, he figured that it would not take too long to do so. He sat there, for a long while, with no thoughts running through his mind, save for one: he failed.
But this is not the end of this story, not by a long shot… because after a while, another thought struck him: he did not just lose his family, his family was taken away from him, and he knew who took them… Eggman.
Roy`s thoughts suddenly turned from grief and lamentation to deep, cold revenge; he was going to make sure that monster paid for what he did; sitting there and dying wasn`t going to accomplish that.
But Roy had a problem: he had no real idea where Eggman was, or even where he himself was for that matter.
"Maybe there at least someone around, someone else who survived the Swatbots." Roy said aloud, "Help here, kinda lost!" Roy shouted at the top of his lungs.
But there came silence, no reply.
After walking around for a few hours, Roy cried once again for any signs of life. Silence again.
Roy decided that crying for help would only attract trouble, so he decided to find his own way out of this wasteland, or at least to some kind of supplies and/or shelter.
Roy searched for quite a while, never taking time to rest, for there was no place to do so.
After about a day of non-stop searching, Roy started to feel dizzy; he instinctively put his hand on his forehead and felt something warm and wet on his hand.
He looked at his hand and saw a dark red liquid on the fingers of his gloves, that brick did more than just knock him unconscious.
Extremely tired and a bit delirious, Roy tried to call out one last time for help, but he only gave a pitiful squeak of a shout before falling over and losing consciousness.
But Roy`s last cry for help brought providence to our brave hero in the form of another Mobian. She resides in the middle of a place that is neither constricting or spacious, but for sanity`s sake, let us call it spacious, the middle of nothing, or at least she thinks she is in the middle, it`s been so long that she does not even remember where or what 'this' is, or even her own name for that matter.
She was enjoying her favorite pastime: shouting the words: 'is anyone there?'; she no longer remembers why she does it, it just seems like something to do.
But this time, her activity was interrupted by someone else`s shouting, "Hello, I need a little help here, kinda lost!" spoke the voice that interrupted her activity. The female Mobian, irritatedly shouted back "Hey, I`m yelling here, wait till I`m finished!"
After she shouted this, the noise stopped and she resumed her odd pastime.
Sometime later, the noise started again, this time louder than the first, this angered the Mobian to a great degree; she was interrupted, again. The female raged at this annoyance, cursing and shouting protests against being interrupted from her pastime, if you had walked in the same room, you would most definitely have already snuck your way back out of the room before you even had time to notice that you were leaving. After her quite frightful bout of cursing, the voice stopped, Thinking that she scared off the annoyance for good this time, the female resumed her aimless shouting.
Quite sometime later, long after the female Mobian had grown bored of shouting, the noise started again, but this time it was weak and frail, as if it came from a dying person who was still desperately trying to cling to life,
"Whoever that is, they don`t sound too good…" thought the Mobian, "…I have to help them." She stated firmly,
The moment she thought those words, a bright light filled her prison, though it only illuminated her, for there were no walls to shine upon. At the light`s source, there was an odd little hole in the void; through it, the Mobian could see something different from the rest of the world, this piqued her interest, so she went over to see what was on the other side of the hole. Making her way over to this odd point in her strange world via some method unknown, she investigated the hole in the void, finding that it looked exactly the same from all directions, this puzzled her,
The Mobian figured that she should touch this curiosity, but the moment she made contact with the hole in the void, it expanded, whilst at the same time the void around her seemed to contract as if it was being replaced by the world that was on the other side of the hole, Before she could react, the Mobian suddenly felt the ground beneath her feet, air in her lungs and bright light in her eyes.
This all startled her and caused her to trip over on the ground face first.
"This is so odd…" said the Mobian, "…why is this stuff all over the ground?" she said, gazing at the dirt and snow whilst still laying face first in it.
The newcomer staggered onto unfamiliar feet which she tottered unsteadily upon until by some ingrained muscle memory she managed to right herself. With her eyes, blinking like a newborn baby as she took in the sights about her.
All around her was covered in white; shiny char-wood dotted the landscape, the sun was glinting off of every reflective surface in a dazzling display of light.
"Lovely." Said the Mobian, her eyes glinting in the spectacle.
Then she looked at herself, she saw her brown fur was covered with a tattered cloak that looked as though it was at one point pitch black, but it now was bleached a pale grey.
On her hands and feet were odd looking gloves and boots, they looked as if they were at some point gem encrusted, but all of the facets had lost their adornments ages ago, leaving only a slightly hideous set of mottled black and grey set of clothes. But the Mobian`s inspection was cut short by a weak cry from behind her, barely above a whisper "H-help me…"
The Mobian turned around to see Roy lying there, unconscious and with one foot already in the grave.
"Oh, dear, what happened to you?" asked the female Mobian, but there was no reply.
"You gotta get to someplace warm," she commented; never once asking why she knew what he needed.
The female decided to carry Roy to safety, though where exactly 'safety' was she did not know.
But when she touched his arm, the Mobian was suddenly flooded with new information, images, words, images about words and words about images, all coursed through her mind, and all at once,
Instead of being knocked over by this flood of information, the female Mobian simply continued what she was doing and slung Roy over her shoulder with ease, but she carried the look of one who suddenly had a great deal to think about and no time to ponder it.
She then proceeded to search for some kind of shelter. Following her new memories, the Mobian quickly found a wooden cottage that was somehow still standing amongst the ruins,
When she made her way inside, the Mobian found a simple cot and a wooden chair, beyond that there was nothing else in the room save for a roof, walls and dust. The female sat Roy down on the cot and then sat down in the chair, but when she sat down, the chair gave way almost immediately, transforming from a chair to a pile of firewood in a single move.
Finding that she had no place to sit, the Mobian decided to stand at the window and ponder her newly acquired memories.
"What is my name?" the Mobian asked herself, she pondered this question for a while, periodically muttering things like, "Now I know my name isn`t Roy because Roy is over there, is it perhaps Jeff? No, that`s not it, silly, that name is for the birds; let`s try that again…"
After a while of heavy pondering, the Mobian found a name that didn`t belong to a bird or a dude or both; she kept seeing a female fox wearing a white blouse and black jeans, "Could that be me?" she asked herself, there was no mirror around, so she could not confirm it.
After a few minutes, she decided; that fox was most likely her, so that fox`s name is most likely her name as well.
"That`s it, my name is Samantha!" she exclaimed, but Roy was still unconscious and did not hear her.
The female now known as Samantha looked over to Roy and just stood there staring at him for a while, trying to understand why she knew so much about him, and yet she knew for a fact that she had never even met him until about a few minutes ago.
"Perhaps I knew him at some point and then I got hit in the head and forgot." Samantha mused to herself.
For quite some time, Samantha stood there and pondered everything she had just learned from Roy`s memories, especially the most recent.
When she started to ponder the memory of Roy`s conversation with Hershey, her curiosity was quite piqued, for some reason, every time the memory mentioned Eggman, she kept seeing an image of a furless fellow with a ridiculously large moustache and an annoying voice.
"What an odd character, where`d all his fur go? Poor guy, no wonder he`s angry." Samantha said aloud.
Samantha`s comment made enough noise that Roy stirred in his sleep, "Oh, sorry, go back to sleep, didn`t mean to wake you…" Samantha said in a whisper.
Deciding that she did not want to disturb Roy`s rest, Samantha thought it best to go outside and think.
When she stepped out of the door, she saw the moon had risen some time ago, painting the scenery a brilliant blue-grey,
"This whole place is even more beautiful at night, wonderful…" Samantha said, placing a hand on her heart as if to still it.
The sky above resembled a rich wall of diamonds, endlessly shining amidst that dark canvass of the Universe. Then something interrupted her stargazing, an odd wave of energy washed over her, in response, her body started to glow a faint and deep blue color. "What is this?" Samantha asked.
She looked at her hands, the glow had softened a bit, but it was still noticeable; every time she moved her hand in front of her eyes, she saw a shimmer, almost like what happens to the air above a fire. A few minutes later, a bright flash came from the sky, Samantha looked up to see that one of the stars in the sky was now a million times brighter than all the rest combined. Then, as quick as it appeared, the star suddenly dimmed all the way to nothing, save for a small disc of light, a remnant of the brilliant heavenly light and nothing more.
Samantha wanted to see this disc a bit closer, to see what just happened, to investigate the wonder she just saw; but she knew that she could not reach them, for she could not leave the ground, so Samantha decided to go back to the cottage and see how Roy was doing, but when she turned around, she could not see the cottage, in fact, she could not even see the ground.
Samantha looked around herself, but the ground was nowhere to be seen, "Am I, flying?" Samantha asked, looked down and her question was answered when she saw terra firma some fifty feet down. She wiggled her toes and realized this was no trick of the senses.
"But, how?" Samantha asked. Glancing around, she noticed that her hands were now glowing brighter than ever and they seemed to project a bright blue stream of aether downwards which seemed to keep her suspended in mid-air.
Seeing that she could now reach that disc and with no other frame of reference, Samantha headed there. With a single instinctive thought, she started to ascend, as if the act of flying was as normal as running.
Higher and higher she traveled, as her confidence slowly grew, and so did her speed, until she started to see a cone of clouds form around her and a deafening noise begin to permeate the air.
Yet higher still she ascended, traveling higher and higher, the air started to become thin and cold, ice started to form on her hair and fur, stinging her with its cold embrace, Samantha felt no fear until she drew a heaving breath and realized the air was thinner than anticipated. She drew one wheezing breath, then another, but no respiration was granted to her. Her eyes crusted over with ice and she started to lose consciousness; at about thirty thousand feet up, Samantha lost consciousness altogether…
Samantha awoke about three thousand feet from the ground to see her new predicament: she was now hurtling towards the ground at a frightful pace; she needed to level out and fast, but it was too late, as she was now moving too quickly to change course, her only recourse was to curl up into a tight ball before she hit the ground.
She crashed some sixty feet from the cottage that Roy was resting inside, creating an explosion worthy of a large artillery shell and sending bits and pieces flying in all directions, After the dust settled, Samantha opened her eyes to find herself in a crater, but when she looked around, she found that much to her surprise she hadn`t a scratch on her.
"Ok, this is odd…" Samantha remarked, she didn't have any real memories, but some innate logic made her aware that falling for several miles and being unharmed upon landing was markedly abnormal, but before she had enough time to think about what just happened, Samantha heard someone call out to her, "Umm, are you alright?” Asked the interruption.
Samantha turned to see Roy standing at the crest of the newly formed crater.
"Oh, you`re awake!" she exclaimed, quickly climbing out of the crate before hugging him tightly as if she had known him for years.
"Umm, who are you?" Roy asked, confused.
"It`s me!" Samantha exclaimed.
"I think you're mistaken. I really don't know you." Roy stated, pulling himself away.
"Oh, right, I`m sorry, you`re right, let`s start from the beginning. My name is Samantha and you’re Roy; right?" Samantha asked excitedly.
"Uh, yeah, that`s my name. How do you know?" Roy asked in reply.
"I don't. The last thing I remembered is finding an odd hole in my world and then finding you on the other side, and then I touched you shoulder and all of a sudden I knew everything about you-" Samantha replied in a hyperactive voice that Roy found quite indiscernible.
"Ok, slow down, I`m confused, what are you talking about?" Roy asked; rather taken aback at the suddenness of it all.
"I think it would be easier to understand if you used your goggles and scanned me." Samantha said.
"How do you know about these?" Roy asked, as he unconsciously reached for the rim of his goggles.
"Like I said, it will be easier to understand after you scan me, trust me." Samantha replied.
"Uh, alright then…" Roy said as he pressed a button on the side of his goggles. At once, Roy`s goggles made a detailed scan of Samantha, save a few exceptions for decency, to Roy's disbelieving eyes. "These readings… They don't make any sense," Roy said incredulously.
"What do you mean; is there something wrong with me?" Samantha asked.
"What I mean is that based on all the data, you shouldn`t even be alive, much less a walking talking Mobian as you are right now," Roy replied.
"Why do you say that?" Samantha asked.
"Well, for one thing, your molecular density is absolute," Roy replied.
"Is that good or bad?" Samantha asked.
"Neither, it`s actually impossible; at your body`s density, you should be heavier than the planet itself, and yet according to your gravimetric data, you only weigh three tons, and to top it off, your electro encephalographic readings are running perpendicular to my own." Roy replied.
"What do you mean by that?" Samantha asked; subconsciously checking her figure at the mention of weighing three tons.
"What I mean is: the only way for your brain to function on the exact same wavelength as mine would be for you to have all of my same experiences, but in order to accom-" Roy began to say, but he felt a solid spike of pain shoot through his head and promptly doubled over, grasping his head with mouth agape as though he were locked into a silent scream.
"Roy, are you okay!?" Samantha exclaimed as she quickly ran over and caught him before he hit the ground.
"It's okay, it’s just that I shouldn't be using my 'Instant Design' with a concussion." Roy explained.
"'Instant Design'… isn`t that the ability that allows you to invent things at a moment`s notice?" Samantha asked.
Okay, that is going to get tiresome really fast! Roy thought, despite the screaming pain in his head. "Yes, that`s exactly right, so I need to get these off for now." He said aloud as he took his goggles off his head, "Umm, you can let go of me now."
"Oh, right, I`m sorry, let me help you up," Samantha said as she lifted Roy to his feet.
"So, what are we doing now?" Samantha asked a slightly dazed look on her face.
"North" Roy muttered as he rummaged through his pack, "We're heading north, away from Robotropolis and towards… oh, shoot, where`d that compass go?"
"You mean the one that Hershey gave to you?" Samantha asked.
"Do you know where it is?" Roy asked as he continued to look around.
"No, I don`t, but I do know that you have another in your equipment chest at the foot of your bed," Samantha replied, jabbing a finger in a seemingly random direction.
"What are you pointing at?" Roy asked.
"Cause that`s the way to your house…" Samantha replied, "…you really need to look at your memories a bit more objectively." She remarked,
Oh, great, now she`s starting to talk like me! Roy thought before he said aloud "If you know the way, lead on, I need to get my equipment and rations anyway."
"Fine then, follow me," Samantha said as she started to walk with him in tow.
"Hey Samantha," Roy said after a few minutes.
"What is it, Roy?" Samantha asked.
"I know that it`s probably just a coincidence, but you have my mother's name." Roy replied.
"Really, that`s funny…" Samantha replied, "…nah, it`s probably just a coincidence."
To be continued…
