The long and short of it is that it’s an event for fantrolls and other characters set on Alternia - only trolls are expressly invited to the ball, but individuals from other species have snuck in disguised on several occasions.

There’s no requirement for what you have to do to participate; what we provide is some lore, a setting, and an optional outfit theme. Some people rp at the ball on tumblr with their characters, others do it on discord, some people just draw art or write individual pieces.

There’s no wrong way to do it; the whole point is to have fun. Let us know if you have any further questions!

i have a thing for a plush of a cartoon character and have referred to him as my boyfriend to myself before. i dont know if this is plushum or self-shipping.

the problem is i can't talk about him openly because he's a handmade plush of a character with no official merchandise! and i posted the final result on my main blog before the whole boyfriend thing started! so if i mentioned him on my objectum blog it'd out my main blog instantly.

i love him though. he's kind of shittily made bc he's my first project this size, and i was originally gonna make another one but i fell in love with him and can't.

oh yeah the line between self shipping and objection is blurry with this isn’t it. Well if the plushie itself is the thing your attracted to…I mean you did mention you fell in love with this one so you didn’t want to make another one. That could just be the ability to love imperfection just because though.

Think of them separately for a second, and try to think about which one/which things make you attracted to him. And it could be a mix of both as well. You don’t have to figure it out if you don’t want to, and it’s okay if you can’t.

And as someone who plans on making plushies of f/os etc when I get better at sewing I can relate to these thoughts and your struggle (in theory so to speak)
