Today's NPC is the Tavernkeep! This is the single most radical redesign I've done! It's so radical that it's a completely original character! Yippee!
Paddy Chromatic is a half-human, half-harpy. Misman Harpy, not Varian Harpy. (The difference is that Misman harpies have wings on their arms, and Varian harpies have them on their backs.) Paddy however doesn't have any wings. What she does have is a job!
Paddy is the bartender on the Hyperlight Alice. Unlike the wide cast of weirdos, scam artists, and jerks that make up the rest of the ships population, Paddy is... basically a normal person. She's very nervous, preferring to just kind of... scoot on by and not draw attention to herself. She's a big fan of music, and is known to play the guitar in her spare time. she's good, but not at all confident.
Amusingly, she's the only member of the crew that Captain Velacruz insists on any kind of uniform for, likely because the bartender outfit was already kicking around the place before she was hired. All in all, she does her best, but it can be very nerve-wracking being a normal nervous nelly in a spaceship full of maniacs that keeps flying into danger so that Vix can punch big monsters. However, she makes do. Maybe she can start a band on the ship.
I was going to save the Tavernkeep for last, but decided screw it! In all of my designs for the NPC's , I've really prioritized the idea of remixing them into new and interesting forms. The tavernkeep was very tricky, because the role of a bartender opened itself up to be... basically anything.
Tumblr media
(this image doesn't contain the idea where he was a sentient Vending machine, but the personality for that would have been too similar to another character) There was a lot of potential, but in the end, I ended up deciding I wanted more female characters, so it ended up being Paddy~. The pirate is still coming, but I'd like to still attach the thank you i meant to put on this post when I made it as a finale. the terraria tag is a great little community, and It's been really wonderful to be able to share my weird super-remixed designs with all of you. I'm glad they've been enjoyed, and I can't wait to start doing more stuff with the characters now that I'm almost out of designs to make~

sh80 au sims pics babeyyy too many pictures under the cut
this AU is basically just. they meet in zuzu city and don't have jobs and somehow can survive because they're god's favorite. Addie does grow her weed tho, and they had chickens until i had to delete them for space. i'm trying to get shane to sell woodworks on plopsy but so far no customers lol. nolan and jinx are their neighbors and wake them up every other night so I need to move them but don't feel like redecorating again ;_;
Tumblr media
delinger finally got eye shinies! it took a lot of retries but finally figured out how to convert that meshed eyeball B) i should share on the original post the creator of that mod made but the copy I have also replaced the original textures, so I have to dl the original and work from there, and I'm lazy. If you use the mesh catchlights too and are reading this :p message me I'm happy to do that
anyways deli is supposed to be attached to his dad's hip at all times. he's a huge crybaby and a little softie his whole life. sim deli is that and also was a sloppy eater, and eats anything, and is gassy which is so funny to me LOL literally mini shane
Tumblr media
addie bribes w food :) got that from dad too
Tumblr media
they had a bday party for him at a bowling alley/night club and it was awfullll i had a bug where no npcs spawned to man the bar so everyone stood around slowly getting hungry and bored. but they did have one cute moment where nolan played the piano to help deli take a nap :'')
Tumblr media Tumblr media
aged up to be a frat boy (i did just paste his old look on top of him)
Tumblr media
emily/sandy interluuuuude :) i gave them a little refresh along with haley!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so at this point addie was pregnant w/ bio baby 2 and that's when they get married so, shotgun wedding time
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
partayyyy
nolan was addie's best man (emily was shane's lol) and this poor guy gets bothered wherever he goes. i had to kick out 3 wedding crashers because he was here. here he is with jas and ami :p
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'help'
ami has 2 roomates that are two other ocs, bea (addie's trad goth tattoo artist friend i've shared before) and teagan who was originally rockabilly eyecandy with a skeleton face tattoo but now she's just. stunning. with no theme except being really hot. i'm obsessed with her. but i wanted to give her rick genest's tats and i can't find those in sims 4 :(
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
back to reality. here's some times that shane and addie had to fight with nolan and jinx to shut the fuck up cuz they're the world's worst neighbors. i have at least 3 other times where they did this ._.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some shane and baby deli. father of the year here gives his kids chips for dinner. also play arsonist's lullaby with that other pic of deli to get the full effect
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then they had baby poppy (another baby named after a metal musician >:) ) and you've seen her as a scary newborn the other day. here she is as an infant :'))))) SHE IS SO CUTE. and so far she is fitting her personality, she's supposed to be a little spitfire and out to take on the world. she's only rolled "spit happy" so far so she just throws up all the time but we'll see if she gets more quirks that happen to fit her personality :p
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(that's marnie :') )
and finally, deli and poppy aged up on the same day so here he is as a kid. jas kept picking on him!! on his birthday!!1!!!1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
bonus pics for today: nolan asking the right questions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
nolan: love polyamory it's the shit. what do you think? addie: i'm open to it! if the right person fit! nolan: *looks pointedly at shane* :D

Big Skyrim Mods to Watch For
As I have been watching these big mods myself, I’ve decided to share them here, on my tumblr, to gather more interest in the projects! Some of you might not know about all of these upcoming mods, so I figured I’d talk about them.
Apotheosis: Fight your way through the realms of Oblivion in this endgame dungeon crawler, with gorgeous visuals and phenomenal voice acting, Apotheosis is still being actively developed. Delve deep into Elder Scrolls lore as you explore new and exotic locations, and combat eldritch horrors beyond mortal comprehension. A new soundtrack, new armor, new weapons, and various other things can be expected with this large scale project.
Skyrim: Extended Cut: A mod currently set to be released later this year, Extended Cut completely overhauls the entire main quest of Skyrim, integrating the Dragonborn dlc into the main act. Fight the newly revived dragon cult, visit new locations, explore expanded questlines (such as the Markarth conspiracy) and outwit daedric princes in your fight to save Nirn from the World Eater. Custom music, professional voice acting, companions, and integration with other big mods such as Interesting NPCs and Lucien are just some of the many things you can expect with this mod.
Skyblivion: Bethesda decided they weren’t going to remaster Oblivion, so modders figured they’d do it themselves! Experience Oblivion like never before, with more modern mechanics, remastered graphics, and the world of Cyrodiil lovingly recreated with passionate hands. Skyblivion is still in active development, and will be an excellent opportunity for people who have never played Oblivion before to give the game a shot with updated graphics and mechanics!
Skywind: Similar to Skyblivion, but perhaps not quite so far in development, we have Skywind, an attempt to completely remake Morrowind in Skyrim’s engine. The entire game will be voice acted, which is notably different than the base game of Morrowind, which had very little in the way of vocals. For people that have never been able to get into Morrowind due to dated graphics and mechanics, Skywind will be an excellent opportunity to give it a go. This huge mod is still in active development, with no current release date.
Beyond Skyrim: Many of you have likely already played the demo, Beyond Skyrim: Bruma. Beyond Skyrim is a project that aims to expand the provinces beyond Skyrim’s borders. There are different teams for different lands, such as Atmora, or Cyrodiil. I’m personally super excited for the Cyrodiil release, even if it may be some time away. This large project will bring brand new quests, NPCs, and environments full of opportunities for any adventurer. All of the Beyond Skyrim projects are currently still in active development, though some are further along than others.

651 MODS.
800 PLUG INS.
THE STAGE IS SET, FOR MY MOST AMBITIOUS PROJECT YET.
AN ACTUAL FUCKING SKYRIM LONG FANFICTION.
THREE PEOPLE.
A NORD WARRIOR. AN IMPERIAL MAGE. A BRETON THIEF.
THEIR DESTINIES WILL INTERTWINE, IN THE FRONTIER CITY OF HELGEN, AS THE ADVENTURE TO END ALL ADVENTURES OPENS BEFORE THEIR VERY EYES.
THEIR GREAT JOURNEY IN THE EMBERS OF A STAGNANT WORLD.
FOR AT THE TURNING OF THE WHEEL, AS THE WORLD EATER RETURNS TO USHER IN A NEW AGE, AS THE BRASS GOD RUSTS AT THE FEET OF THE GODDESS OF TWILIGHT, AS THE DOOM STRIDER LOOMS RIGHT BEYOND REALITY, AS THE FIRST DRAGONBORN SELLS BREAD IN WHITERUN SQUARE...
THREE HEROES WILL BE BORN IN THE FIRES OF THEIR ASCENSION.
AND SKYRIM WON'T EVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.
-
Ok, bunch of details:
Project Proteus, it's a mod with a bunch of dependencies, anyway, it allows me to turn previous Dragonborns into NPCs with minimal issue.
This sets up a perfect 3 way story without having to sacrifice myself into playing something that isn't a mage.
So, here's the set up:
1) Imperial Mage: Servius Callidus. Dragonborn. He's my standard mage character obviously, Son of Great Way Veterans, They wanted him to go through the military cursus honorum but he's into the whole arcane mystery shit, "It's not a phase mom!", The mom is Legate Cassia from Legends btw, anyway he runs away from home and bang, gets himself into a cult because Cyrodil is terrible at teaching magic in the 4th era with the Synod, except the cult is actually a Thalmor Psyop, and the leader, his teacher, attempts to sacrifice him to achieve some sort of dread ritual to grant herself immortality. It fails, because a Dragon Soul can't be held in a Black Soul Gem, and overcharges the room, destroying the cult, and achieving the whole "Doesn't need to drink/eat/sleep also he can save and he can eat 100 cheese wheels in the fraction of a second by pausing time and also he can skip ahead in time by simply standing still in a place for hours because Time has pretty much frozen to him by now" thing. As a side note, this kind of attracts lots of attention on him from the Thalmor, who want to dissect him to discover how the ritual ultimately affected him. This leads to the Sinister Seven, a terrible mercenary group, to be hired to capture him dead or alive. As the name implies, despite being the titular last Dragonborn, Servius will be thought as the squire, the counselor of sort of the "real" last dragonborn, the Nord Warrior, who will get all the glory to much of her bewilderment and his relief. The imagery of a "Wolf protecting the flock" will be used at one point.
2) Nord Warrior: Ragna (Rag-Na) Will-Breaker. First Era War Maiden, Shield Maiden to Kyne, and a member of one of Morihaus cohorts who descended to Cyrodil to aid Alessia during the Rebellion. She dies during the taking of the White Gold Tower, and is interred with the other fallen in a crypt, the same crypt where the Cult is doing their dread ritual. The ritual, the same one who pretty much removed Servius from time, also happens to shoot her full of energy, resurrecting her on the spot, her soul mysteriously still trapped within her remains after her death, as of she was just slumbering. Her first sight after waking up is a room full of dead elves and one alive, very terrified Nede, suddenly coming face to abs with this gigantic Proto-Nord war maiden 3 times his size, so of course she just decides to stick to the guy for the time being until she gets a better idea of what the fuck is going on.
Ok, when you think about her, you need to imagine not Thor from the first movie, tho the comparison is not unwarranted, as much as that one Narnia Book where the Witch is suddenly in early 19th century London and she just goes around both completely bewildered while also acting incredibly smug about everything. Like, "Unroot a lamppost with my bare hands to use as a bludgeon to beat the shit out of cops" kind of Energy. Also it creates some great opportunities for situational comedy such as the always classic "What the fuck is a Talos?"
3) Candle. They/Them. Breton Thief from the Island of Alcaire, Who changed face and names many time in the course of their life, much like a Moth molts their skin, and is now, by sheer, dumb luck, on a one way trip to Helgen. Helgen, where the Warrior and the Mage are right now, Moving north to lose their pursuers and to have Ragna witness her homeland once more, as they get a room at Vilod's and Matlara's Inn, and plan on their voyages, as the rickety cart gets into town, as a tear in time and space opens on the top of the world, where the Sky meets the Heart in their final embrace, where an old Dovah slumbers, and as everything, finally...
Starts.

Explaining the Iceberg #6
Tumblr media
*Some things aren’t covered, namely things i’ve already discussed or content that I don’t feel is appropriate. And not everything is covered in depth
Tatterdemalion Moon Colonies: A since deleted forum post from MK, discussing the moon colonies of Reman that would later appear in c0da
Tamriel is the Far Shores: Orgnum is the immortal King of the Maormer, also said to be the Serpent God of the Sakatal’ indicating some connection to the Yokudan God of everything, Sakatal. Orgnum’s goal is to conquer Tamriel, this theory states that he may have mantled the Yokudan God and is confusing Tamriel for the Far Shores.
Water is Memory: One of the more difficult concepts to really pin down in these kind of theories, so bear with me. This topic has been brought up a few times in older lore discussions, and once again in ESO quite recently. First there should be clarification that I mean water both metaphorically and literally, just like the towers, there is no distinction between real and fake because this is a video game world. Second thing to note: There’s a lot of conflicting theories and ideas on this, i’m only providing the way I can conceptualize this all. If I provided every theory i’d surely hit some sort of character limit. Do you remember the metaphor about every soul in existence being a singular drop in an ocean? This is looking at the ocean itself, it’s the collective consciousness and memories of everyone out there, past, present and future. But this isn’t a synonym for souls and energy, this is a whole separate process. Sometimes souls are shown to be able to live without their memories (the soul carin), sometimes reflections of people's memories get stuck to places like ghosts (memory stones) When someone dies, their soul/energy and their memories may stick together and go to an Aedra or Daedra, or they might get split apart (like a Vestige) and end up in the Dreamsleeve to get recycled and in the Drowned Lamp which is a name for where all knowledge lost to history goes. This concept can be seen with the Daedra too, when discussing the ‘waters of oblivion’ when they get banished their essence heads back to this beginning place to spring back up. Water is memory also gets brought up quite often talking about Sotha Sil, who Vivec says is the selfishness of the sea, and whose ‘daughter’ is Mnemoli/Memory.
Crassius Curio, Time traveller: Another variant on the Crassius Curio plagiarism theory, accounting for why the lusty argonian maid is in ESO.
The Republic of Hahd: Mentioned in the Pocket Guide to the Empire, a group of people who claimed they lived off the coast of summerset, in an underwater civilization called Hahd. The only point in history that they became relevant was when they received tariffs for the transport of ‘mnemolite’ from the people of Hahd to the people of Nahd, and nearly sparked war between the Empire and the Altmer as they tried to figure out what was going on. Hahd and Nahd were both made up, thought to be by a group of psjjic students, as the island of Artaeum disappeared in that same year again.
Leaper Demons: Another name for Mehrunes Dagon, before he was cursed to become Dagon. Named this because of his ability to jump from Kalpa to Kalpa
Zero Stone: This is related to the towers, it’s the ‘heart’ of the tower, the piece that keeps it stable and functioning, essentially like a cornerstone. For the Red Tower and Walk-Brass this was a literal heart (the Heart of Lorkhan), but sometimes it’s other things like a fruit, or a person.
Tiber Septim Awoke Dagoth Ur: In the same short time as the Tiber Wars, where Tiber Septim was attempting to conquer all of Tamriel, Dagoth Ur awoken in Morrowind, which eventually forced ALMSIVI’s hand in signing the Armistice that would make Morrowind a part of the empire, hand over the Numidium, but allow Morrowind to largely keep it’s sovereignty. This theory suggests that Tiber Septim purposefully awoke Dagoth Ur as a long-term strategy, rather than trying to defeat ALMSIVI in wars. If not done purposefully, Dagoth ur may have been awakened by the presence of Tiber Septim (whose thu’um seemed to have came from Wulfharth, a survivor of the battle of Red Mountain and associate of Dagoth Ur)
Akatosh’s Shadow: MK mentioned Peryite as Akatosh’s shadow. Akatosh/Auriel largely introduced stability into the chaos of the Dawn Era as the God of time. Peryite has a similar function, that being natural order, where he micromanages Oblivion and Nirn. There’s more to this theory that i haven’t included due to sake of brevity  https://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/4zct3i/the_shadow_of_aka_peryite/
The people of Et’Ada: Mentioned in the books The Light and Dark and Sithis, the people of et’ada are the descendants of the clash between Anu and Padomay, the original spirits that would give up their forms to become mortal
The Dwemer became their creations: A thought that instead of the commonly accepted Numidium Skin Theory, the Dwemer souls are the ones powering their automatons.
Lefthanded Maomer: An in-universe theory that the Lefthanded elves and the Maomer are related. Evidence for this may exist in Orgunm being ‘Sakatal’
Skyrim getting Colder: A theory that says Skyrim is entering the ice age because of the recent snowfalls and the presence of Sabertooth cats and mammoths.
Anti-Magik Zones: Probably taken from D&D, areas where magic doesn’t work for some reason or other.
The Greedy Man: Another name for Lorkhan due to him ‘stealing’ the divinity of his fellow Et’Ada
Vvardenfell Lesbian Anomaly: The prescence of a large amount of wlw npcs in ESO and the presence of Tel Mora, an island full of women and Mistress Dratha who says she hates men. While the ESO one i’d argue that there’s a fairly equal spread of same sex couples, and Tel Mora is certainly the original developers adding in something ‘strange’ by having an entirely female island, various Lgbt fans of the games have made their own theories on this. @boethiah has proposed that Tel Mora was established as a safe place for lesbians, and Telmoran is the in-universe equivalent to ‘lesbian’
Prism Textract: A reference to a book from the mod Legacy of the Dragonborn
Ruptga: The chief god of the Yokudan Pantheon, people debate on whether he’s equivalent to Akatosh or Magnus, if he’s even equivalent to any god. He was the first god to figure out the Walkabout, and taught the other gods how to survive Sakatal (God of everything) shedding its skin.
The Elder Council world control:  References a theory that the Elder Council is an incredibly powerful political entity that controls the entire world. (looking at how things were handled in Oblivion, doubtful.)
Tumblr media
Tiber Septim Shapeshifting dragon: Ingame theories that Tiber Septim was a shapeshifting dragon based on the empire’s affiliation with them. (source seems to originate from GT Noonan, pre-Oblivion and Skyrim) Could be an early idea for Dragonborns, or perhaps just a wild conspiracy theory.
Insane Time-God: Another MK text, et’Ada Eight Aedra, Eat the Dreamer. States Aka has gone insane due to how many names he has
The Staff of Unity and Chaos: The object you need to assemble in tes Arena. Is able to open gateways to other realms, near instantly kill people. In some of the early drafts of the main quest of ESO, a similar relic was proposed called the Staff of Towers, and would have been similar to the main quest of Arena.
Dracocrysalis: Mentioned in the Nu-Mantia, it’s largely unknown what this means apart from ‘it keeps elder magic bound so it can’t change into something lesser’ based off wording it probably means something akin to changing into a dragon.
Telescopic Aurbis: Refers to a quote from MK A single Wheel? More like a Telescope that stretches all the way back to the Eye of the Anui-El, with Padomaics innumerable along its infinite walls. Essentially this refers to the cycle of Kalpas, all wheels lined up with one another would make a telescope-like shape. The focal point of the telescope would be Mundus, ascending upwards you hit oblivion, then Aetherius surrounding that, and then lesser, more chaotic realms beyond that. This is also mentioned in the Murkmire book ‘Lost tales of the Famed Explorer.’
Gaenor is Sai: Gaenor is said to be one of the hardest bosses of Morrowind, in the Tribunal expansion you can give him gold and allow him to become an incredibly strong warrior. He has incredibly high luck (770 points) making him difficult to hit. This theory states that he is either Sai, the god of luck himself, or a champion of his.
Haskill is the Actual Mad God: This might be a couple different theories. 1st: The events of the Shivering Isles is a trick played on the player character by Haskill/Sheogorath, and the Sheo you see and interact with is just a projection. 2nd: From a loremaster interview from ESO, Haskill states he’s the ‘vestige’ of Sheogorath, the mortal remnants of the person who mantled the mad god in the last greymarch.
Moraelyn=Nerevar: Moraelyn of the King Edward books was likely an early draft for Nerevar. Both have association with roses, both are from House Mora and are considered a champion of the Dunmer. He probably participated in the War with the Nords, being described in the 36 Lessons.
Tsaesci Vampire Language eaters: From MK’s And we ate it to become it and another interview. https://www.imperial-library.info/content/fireside-chats Tsaesci feed on language, he doesn’t state if this is metaphorical, or literal (if that even matters in these games)
Scarab’s transformation: Refers to Scarab that Transforms into the New Man, or Amaranth. The Scarab is a metaphor for godhood. (Scarabs are symbols of divinity in Ancient Egypt) and the New Man is a person achieving Amaranth and creating a new dream/universe.
Trinimalarky: A fun name for Malarky.
King Dead Wolf-Deer: A Bosmer transformed by the Wild Hunt. Lived from the first era until the beginning of the third.
Multiple Underkings: Another statement by MK, general consensus seems to be this refers to the existence of the Underking as two people, Wulfharth a nordic general from the 1st era who held the title. Zurin Arctus, who may have taken up the title after the 2nd Era, when Tiber Septim turned him into an undead being. Or both of them sharing the same body known as the ‘Underking’
Thot-Box: https://www.c0da.es/thotbox/7b10359a40bba7d2e654bc10226f694a68009f15 the worlds worst choose your own adventure. From what I understand of KIMMUNE, a thot-box is some sort of AI
Baar Dau is Shit: Pretty well known at this point. One myth states that Malacath got into a disagreement with Vivec and pooped on Vivec City..
Nu-Hatta: In reference to the person, they’re an ancestor cult member. Otherwise this is used to refer to the Nu-Hatta Intercept written by MK. The text in question seems to be a list of the various ways mortals have achieved divinity.
Talos brought back dragons: Not sure about this one, there’s too many results to filter through to find what this is specifically about
Lyg’s Numidium: The thought here is that if Lyg is the parallel to Tamriel, then it should also have a Numidium that reinforces time and makes events a reality.
Dawn Era Ideological warfare: From UESP, Quote: The Dawn Era was a period during which time followed an incomprehensible nonlinear path and the very laws of nature remained unset, making a timeline an artificial fabrication. A conflict was simultaneously a mere ideological difference of opinion and a manifest war. What this means in simple terms, all possible outcomes in the Dawn era were simultaneous. This might also refer to the Ehlnofey wars where the wandering ehlnofey (ancestor of men) and the old ehlnofey (ancestor of mer) differed in opinion about the existence of Mundus and went to war.
Vivec destroyed Yokuda: A reference to the 17th lesson of Vivec, where Vivec states For a year they studied under their sword saints and then for another Vivec taught them the virtue of the little reward. Vivec chose a king for a wife and made another race of monsters which ended up destroying the west completely. In a literal sense (not that this means much in context of the lessons), this seems to indicate that Vivec created the sword saints, who ultimately ended up sinking Yokuda with the Pankratosword technique. Vivec also said malewife rights.
Ayrenn KIMMUNE: Another MK text. This one states Queen Ayrenn is actually a 9th era cyborg from the future. This was written after MK read an early draft for the Dominion quests and wanted to make it cooler. The writers of ESO have stated they don’t consider this canon.
Tiger Guars: A bit of old morrowind lore, Imperials would mistakenly call Guars, ‘tigers’
Hermaeus Mora is a failed Elder Scroll: Two theories here: 1st: The Black Books are Mora’s failed attempts to create Elder Scrolls (The first pages reference concepts such as the Dreamer and CHIM, Elder scrolls are fragments of creation) 2nd: Hermaeus Mora himself is a failed Elder Scroll. The Census of Daedric Princes describes him as ‘born of thrown-away ideas used during the creation of Mundus’
SITHISIT: the Ehlnofex word for Sithis
Khajiit Tattoo theft: Rajhin the thief god was said to steal a tattoo off Empress Kintyra’s neck as she slept.
Mythopoeia: irl, it’s essentially a term for ‘world-building’ In the context of the elder scrolls, it means the ability to affect reality using belief or the will to change (similar to CHIM) In morrowind Yagrum uses it to describe the enchantments Kagrenac placed upon the tools.
Dragons Biological Time-Machines: In the early drafts for dragons, MK described them as Biological Time-Machines. While this isn’t entirely reflective of what they are now, some truth holds. Being shards of Aka, dragons inherently have some ability to alter time itself.
Argonian Tits: I can’t keep doing this.
The Elven Lie: From what I gather, it seems to relate to the idea that the gods are infallible, when in fact they have weaknesses and flaws.

For me, personally, I think it would be very immersive if you chose not to complete the Skyrim main quest, then you and the rest of the world would face the consequences. For example, say you don't answer the Greybeard's call. Soon the dragon attacks increase and perhaps a few settlements are destroyed (like Morthal because it's a terrible place.) NPCs shun you because you rejected the Greybeards and left the world to Alduin. You are an outcast. You hear news from the other provinces that major cities have been destroyed, borders are closed, the world is in chaos. Crime skyrockets as people panic and more and more dragons attack. Then, after a set elapsed time, you are going about your business and you hear a deafening roar. The world shakes and you look up... the sky is nothing but a dark whirlwind of clouds and fire, and fireballs are falling to Nirn. Then Alduin looks down to you, and you see something of a smirk on his scaly face. Satisfaction at your decision to let Nirn fall to The World Eater. One final shout from his blackened maw, and the Dragonborn is no more...
(This would make an amazing mod.)

there’s so many cool oc prompts going around like the sin eater one and the trust npc one, and i can’t really do either of them because i can’t mod my game to make a cool sin eater version, or use photoshop for the trust banner. and i just really feel kinda bummed about it.

What is mod eater? I keep seeing your stuff in the Terraria tags but I can't seem to find an actual answer on any of the art you put up. A visual novel? A terraria mod? A meta sci-fi Terraria comic? All of the above?
Close! Mod Eater is a video series where I review terraria mods! It's also a general nebulous collection of art, writing, and comics featuring original characters! The OC's have plot and story in the actual show as well. You can watch the first episode here! The next episode is still in production, because the visual novel segments take a lot of time and work to produce, but it's shaping up neat.
A major feature of the project is the fact that I've concocted a bizarre original setting for it. Because I wanted to spotlight all the cool stuff in mods, I wanted to make it all part of an ongoing plot. Doing so however required a setting that could fit all the wild stuff people put in their mods, so I ended up making a weird sci-fi universe where god-level threats fight each other constantly for territory.
The NPC designs I've been posting are the way that those NPC's will appear/be characterized any time they should appear in Mod Eater. Since the characters need to travel between places to find new bad guys to fight, they can't have a town as a base, so instead it was fun to make their vessel a cruise ship and load it up with all the townsfolk.
And yeah, the comics. I hope to make lots more of those (I should be drawing the next chunk of Shimmer Mirror right now). They'll contain NPC's, additional setting lore, and other stuff that would be too hard to cram into the videos.
Overall the answer is that it's a really big weird project that I hope to use to show just how cool peoples mods are, both in terms of talking about their gameplay, and in terms of letting their original material shine in my weird shounen story.

my favorite games have probably been uh. extella (super gay), god eater 2 rage burst, code vein, and fatal bullet
just because you get to make a girl and then be the cool main character (or are super gay, or both)
god eater 3 is. hmmm. i like being mommy but the customization options are shit and hugo (huey? i don’t remember) exists and kinda just takes the spotlight all the time which was VERY upsetting coming from the finale of rage burst. ‘being very good at resonance’ is not really played up in the same kind of deus ex machina power that queen’s blood or blood pledges or being a lesbian harem MC having a type-x arfa-sys are and also all the outfits are shit
it also doesn’t really. explain a lot of the lore
doesn’t do a very good job of making you feel one-of-a-kind
monhun is good and fun but it’s not really a story game the NPCs don’t even have names most of the time and why does only the handler get the guildmarm outfit when do I get to have it without having to mod it in

THE THIRD WIZARDING WAR IS COMING ...
It’s been over two decades since the Battle of Hogwarts when Lord Voldemort and Harry Potter died together in locked combat. Tragedies on both sides of the war were met, and a wave of peace ensued. All those who aligned themselves with Voldemort were subsequently arrested, tried, and sent to Azkaban for crimes against wizard and mugglekind. Over the years the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts were able to restore its cosmetic and internal damages the Death Eaters caused. Seeing as their mission was absolved the Order of the Phoenix disbanded and went about their individual lives.
Our story is about a few towns, small towns, and the people who live in these towns. From a distance it presents itself like so many other small towns over the world. Safe. Decent. Innocent. But get closer, though, and you start to see the shadows underneath. For a certain few they believed that their cause shouldn’t end just because their leader was killed. If anything they needed to continue his work to purge the world of the filth that stains the wizarding world. Those Death Eaters that avoided punishment plotted for years in secrecy wanting to make the world believe their false sense of security.
... WHICH SIDE WILL YOU BE ON ?
WANDS AT THE READY is an au based rpc combining the ever inclusive world of Harry Potter and mixing it with Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Archie Comics. The Golden Era has ended and this rp takes place in the year 2025 ! We use DISCORD as a medium to write, meaning we have a dedicated group server with several tabs for writing in and out of character. This was made with the intention of writing and developing our characters through inclusive interactions and events to keep things running fresh ! We are currently operating on a first come, first serve basis and are wanting this little server to be a safe place for all, so please help us keep it that way !
If you are at all interested please like this post, and submit a small, in character, writing sample here ( please title it with the name of the group so we know you read this far ) !  Undercut will include some general rules we have so everyone is aware prior to being invited in, as well as current roles that are taken. Please remember if you at any time have any questions about anything feel free to shoot me ( @kevykeller ) a message.
* RULES —
001. Drama is cool when it’s in character. OOC drama, however, is not. If it gets to the point where it cannot be solved between the parties involved, then please let a mod know. 002. Please do not bubble roleplay. We are looking for inclusion between all members. 003. As of right now we have a TWO character limit. One main character per person. 004. More rules are featured on the server itself, but I don’t like ending lists in odd numbers. The most important rule above all is to have fun !
* TAKEN ROLES —
Kevin Keller
Betty Cooper
Toni Topaz
Joaquin Desantos
* NPC ROLES —

A defense of Skyrim in the modern day
On November 11, 2011 (11/11/11), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released to mass critical acclaim. It won several awards, appeared on a ton of GOTY lists, and is still played to this day. I personally bought it in 2012, thought it was okay, then set it aside for other games. It wasn’t until 2014 that I fell in love with it.
But over the years, opinions of Skyrim seem to have gotten a lot worse.
Some people are put off by the bugs, others say it hasn’t aged well, but there are a few recurring opinions that I’ve never really agreed with. Or at the very least, don’t mind too much. Here are those opinions:
Skyrim has less/no choice
This first argument is different from the rest because it’s not just subjective; it’s just straight-up false. Regarding choice, he amount of choices you have in Skyrim are no more linear than the ones in Morrowind and Oblivion, and it makes me think the people who bash Skyrim are just nostalgic. But if the argument is that there are no choices at all, or that there aren’t enough compared to Morrowind & Oblivion, here are some of Skyrim’s choices:
Join the Imperials or the Stormcloaks
Join or destroy the Dark Brotherhood
Join the Dawnguard or Castle Volkihar
Restore or defile the Star of Azura
Kill Saadia’s bounty hunters or turn her in
Kill or spare Barbas for Clavicus Vile
Multiple dialogue options that require speech checks
And this isn’t even an exhaustive list. There are several choices in Skyrim that either change the reward you get, or affect the game world in some way. They take some time to get to, since you’re only directed towards them at certain levels, but they still exist in the game.
Skyrim is not an RPG
On the other hand, if you just don’t like the lack of RPG elements, and insist that Skyrim isn’t an RPG...
...what the fuck are you talking about?
Skyrim is full of RPG elements. Ignoring the decision-making aspects, and focusing entirely on the technical, here’s a list of things that I consider are pretty significant to what makes something an RPG:
Multiple stats & skill levels, and equipment that changes those stats
Endless variety in character builds with varying weapons, spells, & armor
Total freedom in what quests you do or don’t do
Takes place in a setting rich with lore, and has little details to reflect it
Persistent world, with every NPC (except enemies) serving a purpose
Unique NPCs that die never come back, they stay dead
Marriage options and various home options, letting you actually role-play
In what way is Skyrim not an RPG? I cannot, for the life of me, wrap my head around this argument. There are arguably games with deeper mechanics, but I don’t think the complexity of one RPG should negate the value of another. It’s basically gatekeeping.
Skyrim’s combat is too simplistic
A lot of people complain that Skyrim’s combat is just button mashing, and that there’s no thought to it. Just click and hope your damage is better than your enemy’s. But this one makes me wonder if people ever played any of the games before Skyrim. Because those are just as spamfest. In truth, arguably excluding Oblivion, Elder Scrolls games have never had good combat. Before Oblivion they were just dice rolls to determine hits or misses. Sure, there’s more going on under the hood in those games, but regarding player input it’s boring.
There’s no urgency to the story
This is more of a lore argument. I think Skyrim’s writing is fine for the most part, and it’s fine if you don’t like it, but this one got to me: The world is ending, Alduin is going to consume all that exists, and the hero needs to stop him. But nothing is really hurrying you to do this. For something called a world eater, Alduin takes his sweet time with eating the world. This complaint is certainly valid, and I always chocked it up to ludo-narrative dissonance. But then I remembered this quote that appears in the opening to Morrowind:
Tumblr media
“Each event is preceded by a prophecy. But without the hero, there is no event.” -Zurin Aretus | the Underking
Alduin eating the world was prophecised. The Oblivion crisis was prophecised. Dagoth Ur was prophecised. But they never actually happen until the player initiates it. I think what this quote means is significant events don’t happen unless the hero is defeated in trying to prevent it. The story doesn’t progress until you’re there to progress it. Significant events don’t happen unless significant people initiate them.
And honestly, that’s why I still love Skyrim. Because no matter how long you spend away from a game, you can always come back to Skyrim and immediately remember where you are. Everything you’ve done will still be there. And even after playing RPGs with deeper mechanics, better-written stories, and sometimes just better gameplay, I still consider Skyrim to be a great game. And if you haven’t played it yet, I think you should; just to form an opinion of your own.
And if something feels off, you can always mod the game to fix whatever issue you may have. There’s a mod to do basically anything if you search hard enough.

WRITING ACTION AND PREVENTING GOD MODDING (1/?)
Today’s post is something that I’ve been wanting to write about and share for quite sometime. I feel like action scenes are one of the most difficult things to write in the roleplay community seeing as we ban godmodding. I feel like most people avoid writing action scenes because of this. A big question I have had for a while is how to write an action scene with out the other mun controlling your character? So this sequence of posts is going to discuss how to write action scenes in roleplay and how to combat godmodding. Action scenes can be incredibly useful in a plot between two characters with tension. Albeit, fighting each other or fighting against a common enemy as an npc (non playable character). These are some tips that I have picked up along the way, so feel free to discuss with me. ( i am by no means an authority on writing action scenes in plots). This post will get long so we can call this a part one.
Google states that ACTION is an act, a deed and applies especially to doing.  Godmodding is taking control of another players character during roleplay.
My first tip is to lay out all the ground rules between you and your partner. For instance, discuss with your partner if you have specific trigger warnings; blood, gore, vomit, etc. Plan out exactly how you both want the scene to go, and how it will effect the plot, the characters relationships &c. You don’t have to discuss specific actions if you want surprises.
Discuss how far you are willing to let your partner push your muse (vice versa), and be realistic. The characters we’re playing are not invincible, even if your character is a godlike creature, they do have their weaknesses and breaking points. Communication is extremely important, before - during - and after. Be flexible to change.
Here’s an example of an action sequence that floats the line between action and godmodding. Portraying Harry Potter Canon Muses tend to have the difficult task of writing magic so I thought this would be a good example of one of my paras with another partner. Magic is often used as a way to fight against someone or be protected from. Using magic in action scenes will affect your partners character, and it will cause them to react. Your character could choose to combat or deflect the magic, but make sure that your decisions on all accounts are discussed. If your character chooses to combat and your partner plotted with you to so their character wins the battle, you changing your mind and combating could change the way the other characters reacts.
The scene: Draco Malfoy failed his task to kill Albus Dumbledore. When the Death Eaters arrived back at his home he immediately ran to his bedroom for safety. His Aunt Bellatrix, known for torture and mistreatment of others reprimands him with an act of violence and small torture to scare him into obedience and punishment for failure.
player one: Bellatrix cackled, suddenly pointing her wand at him. “Wingardium Leviosa.” She sang out, and Draco was lifted from the floor, higher and higher into the air.
player two responded: Taken almost by surprise, Draco felt his feet lift from the floor. His arms flailed as he tried to grab onto something. Being used to playing Quidditch he wasn’t afraid of heights, but his flailing arms dropped his wand, as he rose closer to the ceiling. His breathing heightened, at the loss of control as his suit and dress shirt became disheveled and his hair fell in front of his face. His Aunt and the oriental carpet moved further away from him. “What are you crazy?!” he exclaimed. “What are YOU doing?!”
Player one initiates the action while player two reacts to the action being done. In the instance of writing this particular scene the action was important to the plot and discussion between the two characters. Player two describes what is happening in their point of view, how the character is acting and how they’re reacting to the action being done to them. At this point Player two can only react to the action by player one who will give player two an opportunity to resolve the action on the previously discussed terms.
I hope the first part of this discussion helped. I’ll be making another post soon if people have some questions about it.

The Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim
FUS RO DAH!
Tumblr media
The game has endured the test of time because, despite being published in 2011, it is still being played by a large number of gamers and has been re-released several times. Developed by Bethesda Game Studio as the fifth installment of the Elder Scrolls series.
The main plot of the game follows the player's character, the Dragonborn, on a journey to battle a dragon named Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is rumored to be on his way to annihilate the world.
It may not be the largest gaming map today, but it was massive back then. Skyrim's topography is almost ridiculously intense, but it makes the game's environment feel much broader. You can travel from one area to another by foot, riding a horse, or even fast travel to specific town markers. Optionally, your character can fast travel or teleport to any previously discovered marker.
Tumblr media
Source: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Maps
I do recommend people try not to use the fast travel feature that was provided in the game. You will be exposed to the genuine aspects of the game if you prohibit yourself from quick traveling. In addition to that, you can stumble upon NPCs walking or ambushing you, discover campsites or hidden dungeons. This method also made me appreciate the attention to detail even more and I did this to other games as well.
Actually, the only gameplay that I want other game studios to implement in their role-playing game’s genre. Because the RPG features such as skill trees, crafting weapons, armor smithing, lockpicking or magic destruction are simple and intuitive. There are no predetermined classes in Skyrim, so you can be whoever you want, which makes it more fun. You can have your own companions and make them carry your burdens, buy a house, get married, or even become sorcerer supreme. Well, there’s quite a list of things that the game delivers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Skyrim is one of the games where I have replayed over 7 times. Spent hundreds of hours playing this from the xbox360 version combined with the PC version. Knowing that at some point I will replay the game again in the future. After playing in vanilla (it means playing the base game with no alterations) I chose to use mods instead throughout my other playthroughs. I mainly play Skyrim on PC because you can actually mod the game and make it somewhat better and have to try out community-made content. Although the base game was a bit dull and clunky back then, years later, the modding community made quite a leap in changing the game by adding great mods. Do try out playing modded Skyrim with graphic enhancement, it will make you feel like playing a new game.
Here’s an example of how modded Skyrim would look like.
