I gave in and listened to a Japanese language podcast today while I was playing some Doubutsu no Mori. I was trying to catch an itou/stringfish (which I did succesfully!!!) and it was really stressing me out, so I put on YUYUの日本語Podcast in the background just to focus on something else so I wasn't so stressed out about this dang fish lol.

It was really easy to understand and follow, even though he speaks at a relatively natural pace. He repeats and rewords things sometimes which really can help your brain have time to understand everything.

I'm not huge on podcasts but I won't deny that it's good input.

Still watching Himitsu Sentai Gorenger in my free time lol. Still doing Marumori, too, though I know I haven't updated about that in a long time.

My partner @take-a-chill-phil has been streaming Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, and I mod his streams, and I tend to study while watching.

The latest lessons I've been studying are about compound particles, such as には.

In addition to that, I've been trying to study a little Tagalog vocabulary. I'm adopted but part pinoy myself and trying to dip my toe into connecting with that a little bit. It's always been tough for me to study any language other than Japanese for whatever reason. I've tried a few times to study other languages - Portuguese and Welsh, for example - but nothing seems to feel as easy as studying Japanese for some reason. I think it helps that there is SO much media in Japanese and the sentence structure, conjugation, and pronunciation are easier than the other languages I've tried to learn. I don't know. I'm just trying to have the attitude of I'm not trying to be fluent, I just want to start learning a little more about a part of myself that has been alienated from me, a little bit at a time.
