Spectralarity release!!!

My latest endeavor to packmaking, Spectralarity, is out, and you can try it!

Things you can do in this modpack:

tinker with magical gemstones of unknown origin

open holes in bedrock and explore what awaits beneath... or merely setup Void-based fast travel

decipher the patterns etched on magenta gems to cast spells, and go mad in the knowing

work with devices both mechanical and floral to create elaborate (or not-so-elaborate) contraptions

commit magical atrocities for your own sake

see familiar dimensions in a whole new light, finding secrets that were not there before

explore far and wide, using your artifices to aid you

encounter and defeat several bosses, and use their once-fabled power to further your own

discover and savor a wide variety of magical cuisine, from foods and drinks to other consumables

explore the true potential of enchants and potions, empowered by your gemstones

and more - what can you make, fellow chromamancer?

The hermits keep complaining about storage so I wanted to show off my starter storage that so far has been absolutely enough and even has room to expand and I'm at level 18! I don't know how they have such trouble with this, but I also love sorting everything xP

I would delete the entire Smash series if it meant Sakurai would make a new Meteos game. It's not even a contest. I need Meteos 3 more than the entirety of the world needs Smash and it's not even close.

I keep second guessing becoming a cc due to my disorders , not because theyre stopping me or anything maybe just making it so that ill need extrs breaks and such but i fear being infatualised by those around me

isn't there a setting you can turn off in creative-a-sim that makes them not interested in romance? or a trait

Yeah, but it doesn't let you edit that after you've made the sim for all i'm aware :(

I guess my Urge To Play Skyrim thing really is annual like clockwork huh. At least last year I learned that I'll need to upgrade my PC parts if I want to use any of the mod packs in Wabbajack cause even on "low" my PC sure was struggling and sounding like it was getting ready to lift off.

part of what got me started (at least in programming) was the autism hyperfocus but the biggest enabler was just an easy and convenient place to start

like if your easiest place to start is fucking around in Lua using computercraft then go wild

because if you feel like you're getting overwhelmed by something going 'okay to get started you have to install these 15 things, change system settings, and okay all these boxes' meanwhile you just want to Start Somewhere, then that might keep you from actually starting, and it's much better to find something that works than it is to keep yourself from ever actually beginning because of analysis paralysis or anxiety avoidance or something

which leads me to: try Python, it's a relatively friendly place to start, there's multiple online tutorial places for it (though i can't vouch for any one in particular), there's generally a lot less having to go around dealing with fuckery to just get it working, and if you want to avoid installing something to start there's Jupyter and Google Colab that let you just do stuff in your web browser (hell i've even used the latter at uni)

beyond language specifics, one of the biggest things of it (at least for me) is admitting to myself that 'hey i have no idea how to do this' and going and asking questions, whether i'm asking That One Friend Who Knows The Things That Work or just a search engine, or checking the documentation, or even something like stack exchange or a discussion forum about the language

there's also having to understand that it doesn't need to be optimized 100%, like, you can make something that maybe could be faster or could use less memory or could be more intuitive, but don't let your fear of not being good at it keep you from doing the thing, because you can optimize a solution that works, but you can't just deliver a nonexistent solution

i get that there's a lot more to it, and the whole "Excellence is not an art, it's a habit. We are what we repeatedly do." really factors into just, knowing how to do stuff, knowing how to do it quickly, but everyone has to start somewhere, and the time's going to pass anyways, just always have to be ready to learn from it and get better

i always struggle answering questions like this cause like i basically got into this stuff just via autism hyperfocus and self learning that way and forcing my way through it like that, but im gonna post this anyways so maybe people in the notes will have better input!!

most of the time when people talk about modded minecraft they're talking about popular modpacks and it's just... idk it kinda feels like it's against the point to me? like whenever i play with mods it's always a hand selected curation of the mods i enjoy. there's no risk of a mod like alex's mobs (which is an excellent mod mind you, but i personally can't play it due to it triggering like every one of my phobias) creeping its way into the selection when you pick the mods yourself. idk i'm just rambling and maybe this makes no sense to most people but i just like hand picking my mods

finally processing that i need actual block printing inks and not screenprinting ink for my linos which really sucks now ive got two screenprinting inks i dont need anymore and will rather need to buy pricey block printing ink that comes in tiny quantities worst part is theyre oil based so theyre going to reek as well bleeghhh i just want to make some dragom patches man o(-(
