For me, xiv modding has now circled back around to "well at this point I'd rather just use mostly vanilla assets and a few mashups because I'm tired of having to sift through an avalanche of overtly sexual clothing mods for body models I haven't even heard of" and idk I'm kind of fine with that.

invisible body/gear help please!

Hey FFXIV modders. I've tried asking twice in the penumbra discord and have gotten crickets in response, so I'm going to try my hand here.

Long story short, I installed the testing penumbra, did the DT upgrade through TT, and gotten the newest body mods for bibo and yab. The only problem is, vanilla gear / smallclothes are now invisible, like so (this is the reaper 100AF, not modded at all)

I have been told that it was the material reassignment not doing it correctly, thus the invisible. So I started over in TT, disabled the body mods and now we're here:

Short of uninstalling Penumbra, I have no idea what the fix is. Equipping modded gear worked just fine! But vanilla is all blank and invisible.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

rubbing my hands evilly together while i mashup up ryss's body mod with hafrun's grande (that just dropped for beta testing) to give her more tummy and less wide hips while retaining strong arms / shoulders / legs and her custom chest eheheheheheheheh

i think ive sorta figured out why there are so many female body mods for xiv when it comes to the highly-used ones (bibo tnf yab etc etc etc) but i still dont get why mod creators are making new bodies that are three degrees off of bibo, porting like 5 of their own outfits to it, and then going back to whatever they usually dev for. is it just to say you have your own custom body sculpt on xma...? like the world is in your hands at that level of skill, if you wanted you could just make a custom body sculpt for your little insta baddie catgirl oc and then port outfits you like to it, is it an attention thing?

1. LARGE. Even for a Roegadyn, he's tall, reaching over eight feet. Beyond that, he's also covered in bruises and wielding a blade on his hip, so first impressions are that he's some sort of gladiator or pirate. And neither are wrong.

14. So many. So very many. In terms of story, it's mostly concerning his backstory and personal motivations. He was born in Eorzea, on the surrounding oceans to a group of Limsan pirates, born with a rare illness that made his skin weak and almost rotting. They raised him, traveling the near and far seas with him, teaching him how to fight long before he joined any guild. After their death at the hands (fins?) of Leviathan, he gets by as an Ul'dahn sellsword, battling in the arena and doing odd jobs. After joining the Scions, however, he learns more about the nature of Primals and the enthralled, he finds some of his old crew to be alive, though under Leviathan's control as Serpent Reavers. Still struggling with the grief of losing the only family he ever had, he takes and hides the "survivors" away, secret even from the Scions, in hope of finding some form of cure.

Design wise, um. He is very heavily modded sjdvbhjsadbh he's transmasc, so a lot of his mods are to make him more masculine, such as Bibo Mars to flatten his chest (Bulky version to give him a bit of extra shape), Slip, Livor, & Moroides 2 for his bruising, and Winter Coat for his body hair, to name some of the major ones. Out of game, I also picture him fatter, with a "dad bod" physique.

19. Lmao no. As of his current place in MSQ (near the end of post stormblood), he hasn't really worked out any of his personal goals. His illness has only gotten worse the more he is forced to use his aether to save the world, his crewmates are still enthralled, and the pile of people who have died for him has only grown larger. He's had some improvements, finding new friends and loved ones on his adventures, but there is still much work to be done for him to feel right. Well, I'm sure the next expansion will be an easy ride where he can really grow and heal as a person :) (shadowbringers will kill this man. I mean this very literally)

First up ;; Body replacements. (Links may have nudity on the model.) These will change the base model and the parts of the body that shows through clothes (like cleavage or tummy.) BIG thing is the nice hands and feet. When you pick a body of your choice, you can then find gear conversions for it. The big thing is since you're changing the client side models, it will show up on everyone.

Mid Size Ladies - Tight&Firm - I used this one for ages until I started trying others. Bibo+ - The first body mod I ventured out to try lol less buff, more cute. Freyja - The body mod I use nowadays.

Mid Size Guys - The Body SE-X - Basic body for the tall gentlemans (excluding Roes and Hroth) Has lots of options. The hrBody 3 (SFW Edition)- This is a basic body for the Roes & Hroth.

Potatos - Otopop - I've been following this creator since release. They're really sweet and really dedicated to expanding mods to the portly spuds.

Next step I do is some better textures. Face Defined - Basically just the vanilla textures scaled up. HD Speckled Rabbits - Texture replacement to make all the viera ears speckled cause I think it's cute lol The New Ultimate Foot Pack - This is technically a gear conversion BUT it modifies all foot gear in game with exposed foots to have the updated foot model. Mani - Pedi Mega-Pack - Tons of shoe and glove conversions! Hair Defined - All hair textures in HD ! Including face hair and fur for ears and tails. Upscaled Vanilla Scales - This is just the default au'ra scales in HD. Default colors. If you want extra patterns or colors, skip this.

NPC Defined - A big general pack of NPC upscales.

Another BIG thing is catchlights and eye textures as well as makeup.

I really like this rainbow catchlight. If you let me know what kind you want (like lashes reflecting, ring light, like a window reflection, anime little white circle.)

Eye textures, you can actually do manually and give everyone different ones! But is also super up to you. This is the texture pack I use, I love it. Here's a more modern eye pack that looks really cute too!

Makeup, if you let me know the kinds of things you may like I can look around for you. I like stuff like this, this, this, and this. A lot of people release makeup, so it's really up to what you find!

If you want to add hair, it depends on what you're looking for. There's lots! Just browsing the first few tabs, there's this wolfy hair cut, this cute puffy twintail, this cute bob, this gale port, this super long cut, this gorgeous port I'm going to have to use, and cute space buns. It's very much a matter of let me know what you want and i can help you find it OR just browse the mod directory. :3

Same with gear tbh. (Though it honestly feels like 90% of the mods are lingerie or NSFW.) First tabs I see a lot of upscales but also some new stuff and ports. There's a cute lolita-looking dress, neat port of PGR Alpha outfit, another cute dress, a port of Shadowheart's casual outfit. I can say anything from Bizu is gold. Here's the MEGA folder of everything. I think they only use Bibo+ ?

hello friend, what mods do you use in ff14? :o i got The Body SE and the Fabulous Trans Men mod but some character's hands ended up disappearing bc of it hgfdjklhgklsjd need help.......

I just use bibo and tbse+plus some gear upscales i did myself :0c ive never used FTM so im not sure what would be causing the disappearing hands unfortunately D: do you have anything else installed? any gear mods or such that could be causing some weird conflicts?
