It’s for everyone... but specially... For a new mom.. or who’s going to be one..! Just read..! . We don’t do a good job of prioritising Postpartum nowadays..! There is a huge biological and emotional shift that happenes in the first year after giving birth. This period called as MATRESCENCE- something very rarely spoken about and probably less understood too..!!! . Matrescence is the process of becoming a mother. It’s a birth but also means a death.. death of your old self and your old life..! It’s something I knew nothing about when I became a mom a year back.. Even after having lot of knowledge on different aspects of pregnancy... I was new to these challenges as a mom...I thought my baby would perfectly fit in my life without making much changes... I thought I can really be back to my profession without much fuss... I thought I can be me...The older me... BUT NO...!!! I seriously did not anticipate these changes happening and was not prepared for it though... Just like my mom I thought I could easily fit in but time and generations changes.. we women get into profession and socialise well... not like the older generation anymore..! . So, Husbands and men out there... Help her.. This is where u truly stand for a woman... of course u are a new dad too.. but evolve into a new Husband too as she evolves herself into a new mom... I have decided to finally start a fundraising campaign for Leon @littleredskull and Nym. I have been putting this off due to fear and pride, but his puppy is getting older and needs to start training. Medically, We have an appointment in Roseville with his Neurosurgery team on Wednesday, following a 2 hour fully sedated MRI.
