SO! there are a good amount of differences and similarities from film to show (spoilers ahead, but tbh those aren't a big deal for a show like spamalot i think), but here are the main ones plot-wise:

there's not as much weird time anachronism, understandably. there's a historian character, but no actual documentary framing or the like.

there's a lot of new jokes and scenes added.

they add a new diva-type character, the lady of the lake, who essentially acts as a guide and later a love interest for arthur––though there is actually very little romance in the show.

some characters are combined, usually depending on their double-cast from the film! for example, dennis is turned into galahad, and robin and lancelot are the same characters as the dead collector and the guy who brings the body to the cart, respectively.

bedevere and galahad are unfortunately kind of sidelined for most of it––their tales are cut completely––while robin and lancelot's plotlines are expanded upon. bedevere did actually have his witch-burning scene in tryouts along with a song, but it was cut in previews.

they go to camelot, and the knights of the round table song has a very lengthy and flashy number. camelot specifically adopts a las vegas vibe.

the knights of ni give a second quest after they change their names: put on a broadway show!

robin's character is expanded into a theatre kid who explains broadway to arthur, and has a whole musical number about it (with one very specific focus)

lancelot defends herbert after his father almost kills him, leading to a whole number about how he's gay. and he and herbert get married at the end!! in the new broadway revival they even kiss <3

the bridge scene was cut.

they do find the grail, of course, under one of the audience seat, and they end with a classic broadway double-marriage :D.

fun fact, always look on the bright side of life is a number here!

for the most part, the other scenes are kept intact, like the french taunters and the black knight. most of these changes from movie are for the sake of pacing and to make it more coherent, as far as i can tell. it's a very fun show, though whether or not you'll enjoy it is less dependent on liking the original than you'd think. i myself though love both versions, though i prefer the musical ^^

To anyone who's seen the musical adaptation "Spamalot" (which is the musical adaptation of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975) ), what elements are there/are incorporated in the musical that differentiate from the film version and why? Genuinely curious about this! Thanks!

I.. I always while draw sometimes add a lot of details that people probably don't even notice. But ehh. The main thing is that you guys at least like my art I think.

I was struggling to choose between Typegingi×Karen and Lorraine×Rachel.

Decided to draw these two since ERM.. Give them attention please.

Also yes when Lorraine sleeps they probably display a DVD logo.. I dunno why but I think it's a silly lil headcanon.

Also while I was drawing this I remembered that one video. Well. That one small thing in the vid. It was a ship dynamic: the conspiracy theorist and the conspiracy.

I also hope that everything is drawn well here like.. I usually only drew snakes before. So uh probably that's noticeable by how Rachels mermaid tail is drawn. I mean... It literally looks like a hybrid tail to me and I'm so sorry about it really.
