also all the rr characters that aren't already mentioned are kittypets/strays. crimson and enuui are two kittypets who live in the same apartment block. the cops are the two cats that the police keep in the precinct. Brody is a cat that visits thunderclan with Geoff sometimes.

I think something bright sounding would suit her really well! Despite her best attempts to be a grouchy teen she's just got an energy I love. Possible names: Sparkwing, Firelight, Shiningstorm, Lightningblaze.

I think a friendship with Mooseheart or Houndfang would be really good for her. They were more or less Rory's age when they joined TimberClan, so they've got a shared experience that Rory can relate to. I think they'd both be really good at guiding her through life in TimberClan because of that, and their personalities also seem to be a good fit to help her get her out of her shell more.

for poppetpaw, in conjunction with the bisonpaw ask i answered...a fun little forbidden romance would be very fun, i think, especially if it potentially put poppetpaw herself in danger. i imagine that mablesong would have a really rough time understanding why her daughter would want something that could put her at risk of mountainclan's wrath. sort of in line with that...it might have already happened and i just can't see because (bangs on timberclan's doors), but. poppetpaw learning about bell and maybe even getting to go visit where her sister was buried some day would be a really good moment, i think.

monroe seems like she's full of secrets! given her interaction with ragged on the thunderpath, she seems perceptive and cautious- and a cat that i'd definitely like to know more about, though I'm sure it'll take some work to peel back those layers. that's a good thing, though- it's fun to have cats around who don't necessarily wear their personality on their sleeves. with that in mind...

i can certainly see monroe pairing well with a more outspoken cat- someone who can push her out of her comfort zone. perhaps someone like mooseheart of phoenix (daytime warrior buds!) on the timberclan side of the border, and in terms of cross-clan friendships, perhaps someone like Dandelionpaw or Swiftpaw!

On this Valentine’s Day, I share a tradition that is truly heartfelt. This wonderful heart sign, with the photo of a little boy saying a bedside prayer, graces the Moose Lodge in Irwin, Pennsylvania. This sign honors the fraternal and service organization’s tradition of the Nine O’Clock Ceremony. At that hour, members bow their heads in prayer, armed folded over their hearts, and face toward Mooseheart, Illinois, the seat of the Moose Lodges and the home of the society’s legendary residential child-care facility. At that hour, according to the tradition, the children at Mooseheart kneel in bedside prayer, just as depicted in this oil painting from the 1930s that was distributed to the lodges and is here enshrined in the sign. As the bell tolls nine, the lodge members across the land join the children in silent prayer. According to a Moose Lodge site, this is what happens: “GOVERNOR: Repeat after me. GOVERNOR: Let the little children come to me MEMBERS: (Repeat) GOVERNOR: Do not keep them away MEMBERS: (Repeat) GOVERNOR: For they are like the kingdom of Heaven MEMBERS: (Repeat) GOVERNOR: God Bless Mooseheart MEMBERS: (Repeat) GOVERNOR: Amen. MEMBERS: (Repeat.) GOVERNOR: Everyone will again face the altar.” When I learned of this ceremony, I was so intrigued that I ordered a vintage postcard that features the same painting of the child that’s shown in the sign. The back of the card reads: “There is a spiritual bond that binds indissolubly the half-million and more members of the Loyal Order of Moose to their Fraternity, and to its humanitarian activities, chief of which is Mooseheart. I like this story for a number of reasons. Two of them. One, bald eagles nesting in the Chicago metro area. That’s great. Two, so many people pseudo-adopted this bald eagle couple, and went into serious grief when one of them was killed by a car as the eagle was diving down onto the road for food (probably road kill) for its babies. Bald eagles living among millions of people, and those people loving the birds. Hope for wildlife.

In a nutshell: people had assumed that the eagle of the pair that was killed was the girl. Turns out, nope, it was the boy. So mom was raising the two babies by herself. Then another boy shows up and starts courting her. She is having nothing to do with it, squawking him away. But he is persistent, and eventually she decides new guy isn’t so bad, and the two of them are raising the babies.
