First meeting
#stobotnik#doctor ivo robotnik#agent stone#sonic movie universe#i hope you all are noticing what i'm doing with stone's clothes specifically#white shirt pre robotnik black to fit his goth boss then colors when ivo starts wearing red#also i know we all like to think robotnik hated being assigned an agent but i present to you:#he sees it as a symbol of status kinda. stone hates being here#it just feels right to me. it's not that robotnik thinks the agent will be useful at all#he's just pleased that he got one#everyone else has an assistant why shouldn't he?#this ties to a very very stupid headcanon i have#and it's that robotnik's blood type is O negative#HEAR ME OUT he would hate that. he would hate being an universal donnor because he doesn't care about saving lives of humans ew#but then stone is also O negative so that means robotnik can receive blood from him if necessary#and that's mostly the reason why he was chosen to be his assistant#ivo is too important to die! and O negative blood isn't that common#Stone knows but probably no one told robotnik#then of course imagine stone getting injured and needing blood and ivo is like wait i can do that it doesn't matter what his blood type is#you get the point#i think. i'm pretty sure there was a point#oh well#oh the no hr joke. they're a shady goverment organization i don't think they treat their people that well#that being said maybe robotnik's treatment of stone was the reason they had to get an hr department who knows

Noble- lol kinda want an AU where that pink haired guy is Stones ex and Robotnik fucking hates him.
Me- LOL
Also me for the next few weeks-

--
I call this AU ''The Lost Prince (of Wendimoor)'' right? sketchy cover page concept-
If I had a nickle for every time I locked on on a doe-eyed, yearner played by Lee Majdoub in love(allegedly) with a 6'2'', red-tinted man who is a master at his craft from a series with world warping technology, a fucked up moon, and a child hero...
I would have 2 nickles etc.
ANYWAYS. The story is about Agent Stone who is secretly Silas Dengdamor. Somehow he got warped/trapped on Earth and had to rebuild his life since Earth is a far less forgiving place than the planet of Wendimoor and he had to accept that Panto might not be able to help him. BUT he finally managed to apply all the fighting skills taught to him by Wygar and eventually ended up in GUN which lands him in Robotnik's circle.
Little did he know Panto has been trying to find Silas this entire time, using warp rings to traverse the galaxy when the search for him on Wendimoor resulted in nothing. (Hes left the defense and care for the kingdoms to Litzi and Wygar)
Panto finally makes it to Earth after escaping some shenanigans on some other planet and in the chaos lost his warp rings somewhere. SO he too has been stuck on Earth which is fine for him because he was gonna be searching for Silas anyways. (He actually loses his rings on Earth and Sonic finds them and is a little concerned/excited for another alien to meet... I didnt draw any of that LMAO) ANYWAYS after nearly a decade Pantos search finally comes to an end.
(V Im putting the rest under the cut cuz theres a lot of doodles V)
Ivo doesnt share food, of course.
Panto can only tolerate so much.
A rock stuck between a hard and harder place bout to be ground into a fine DUST.
BETRAYAL!! (?)
SO ANYWAYS. something something Sonic shenanigans but before the final battle somehow Sonic and Panto meet... maybe like Panto sees the little pouch he kept his rings in and gets them back. Something... Panto returns to Silas (& Ivo) and tells them he has a way back home for them (he and Silas) but Silas hesitates and then cant bring himself to go... not when Ivo is watching them (TOTALLY NOT BOTHERED AT ALL. HES NEVER BEEN BOTHERED EVER IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE IN FACT). Panto understands and says he has 2 warp rings left (Sonic used a few to fuck around maybe IDK) and should at least visit Wendimoor because Wygar and Farson (and even his mother) miss him and he should get a proper good bye. Stone invites Ivo to Wendimoor... whether or not he goes to check it out IDK... I feel like might be curious enough but also maybe he'd think itd be too awkward IDK I DIDNT DRAW THIS PART BECAUSE I DONT KNOW.
When they get back shenanigans, Sonic v Ivo fight and Ivo ends up on the Mushroom planet. Stone insists on waiting for Ivo at Mean Bean and Panto stays with him and they reconnect nice and proper! Panto accepts his life of villainy as long as he can please Silas.
something something... S3 where Ivo is injured and is being taken care by mostly Stone... and Stone is being helped by Panto (Ivo rejects Pantos help at any given moment but also kinda feels bad about it because Stone has been running himself ragged.)
Some misc Stobotnik and Pantlas! doodles-
Panto doesnt understand SIlas' affection for Ivo but then after sorta getting to know the guy he starts seeing Ivos dumb way of kinda returning affection (something that Silas is a little blind to himself). BUT if Ivo is SO important to Silas, Panto will keep him safe.
Eventually Panto brings up the stuff between Ivo and Silas as well as Silas' love for the other man and Silas feels bad but Panto WILL share food... if it means so much to Silas. And frankly Ivo is a jackass and maybe wont even do anything so he wont have to bother worrying.
IVO STILL DOESNT SHARE FOOD.... (The food wasnt his to begin with BUT IT DOESNT MATTER.)
The only thing that keeps them from killing each other is the fact the person they care most about would be upset by it.
I thought WAY too hard about this and yet...
NOT HARD ENOUGH.

Villain Stone is definitely what I'm hoping to see from Sonic 4, so I tried my hand drawing him - mind you, in my design he's a bit of a hot mess, with Robotnik's old coat repurposed and patched up, and with longer hair and beard (and the sunglasses, just because those are fun).
Then I ended up deciding to write a short piece for this Stone, which could be a beginning of a longer fic. Text under the cut:
Stone gives himself a year to grieve. A year for the Earth to rotate, for the people to recover. To forget.
He doesn’t stay idle, of course. He uses the emergency bank card in his shoe to leave England. Flies back to the United States. Rents a car and drives to Idaho.
The Doctor liked the idea of putting a secret bunker in Idaho, mostly because nobody would ever expect it to be in Idaho.
Stone stocks up on food at a nearby town, and hunkers down. For the first two months, he looks at trees. Eats. Reads the Doctor’s old notes, downloaded once he was able to connect to the private network. And he thinks.
When Stone was thirteen, a couple came to the orphanage. Friendly, wealthy-looking, hopeful. For some reason, they spoke to Stone, who gave off one-word answers. The next day, Stone was pulled into the director’s office. Told that there would be another meeting with the couple, with the prospect of fostering him, with adoption in mind.
When the couple came back, a few days later, Stone made a point of walking up to a boy two years his senior and breaking that boy’s nose. He still remembers the couple’s shocked faces - the director’s panic, the boy wailing in surprise as blood poured down his face. That boy, who Stone had found annoying at the time, had looked at him with an expression he could not back then quite parse. It wasn’t until later that Stone recalled that he’d been smiling.
Smiling, Stone learned later, in the right context could put people at ease.
After a few months, Stone starts to plan. He runs out of supplies fast, but he has emergency funds, he has contacts, and he has a pick-up truck. For the next few weeks, Stone hunts down mechanical and electrical parts, and calls in favours. In the evenings, he begins to build a database of G.U.N, collecting schematics and personnel files. It helps that he still remembers where the bodies are buried, and which people are the weak links.
Around month six, Stone travels back to London, purchases a coffee shop near the G.U.N headquarters, and takes it over. It’s a particular favourite of many of the bigwigs in G.U.N, and Stone makes sure to keep the operations running exactly as they did before. Give or take a few listening devices.
One time, the Doctor had asked him if he was dating anyone. Of course, he hadn’t phrased it quite like that.
“So, should I presume that you have some sort of paramour, Agent?” Robotnik had said, his head bowed towards the chip he was soldering. “Note my lack of assumptions about their gender. Don’t care, don’t need to know, read the HR memo!”
Stone had swallowed down his initial response, which was to point out that Robotnik had asked. Instead he smiled, standing attentively with the tool case in hand.
“I’m unattached, Doctor. Free as a bird.”
Robotnik gave him a sharp glance, with something odd flashing across his face, there one moment and gone in the next. He’d turned back to his work, moustache twitching.
“What, no takers? Pretty pathetic, Stone, I gotta say. At least I have the excuse of my prize-winning personality.”
“I’m not interested,” Stone had said, mildly. “I don’t like most people.”
This, for some reason, had attracted the Doctor's attention - the man had turned and looked at him again, brows raised.
“You don’t like people? You, Stone? You’re always grinning at everyone like an idiot!”
Stone had grinned at the Doctor, like an idiot, just happy that the Doctor paid that much attention to him.
“Adapting certain positive mannerisms makes it easier to navigate social interactions, Doctor. The only person I actually like is you. Everyone else I simply tolerate.”
The Doctor had looked at him for a moment longer, studying him. He wasn’t the first person Stone had told about his lack of interest in the general humanity, but he was the first one who didn’t look at him like he was some kind of a monster. Of course he didn’t. He was the Doctor.
“You’re an odd little man, Stone,” Robotnik had said then, his voice tinted in genuine amusement. “No wonder you made such a good merc. You little sociopath, you.”
“Not diagnosed,” Stone had responded cheerfully.
“Huh! Well, whatever - at least I don’t have to worry about you running off to fornicate with some Suburban Sally, or - Barbeque Bob,” Robotnik had added hastily. “No assumptions, of course.”
Stone had bitten the inside of his cheek, to swallow his initial response. Not very work appropriate. Instead, he’d just smiled.
“Of course, sir.”
Doctor Robotnik had been the only person he’d cared about, and now he was gone.
Stone barely sleeps. He stops grooming himself. The shadows of the bunker grow longer, twist and turn as he works through the nights. Whenever he closes his eyes, the shape of the explosion burns inside his eyelids.
He’d been content, for as long as the Doctor was by his side. He’d been happy to be domesticated, to be soft.
He’d been happy.
By month twelve, Stone packs up his meager possessions and loads them into his truck. The time for grieving alone was over. He was ready to share the pain. With the whole world.
He starts the long drive towards Montana.
#stobotnik#agent stone#robotnik#stobotnik fanfic#i firmly believe stone without the inhibitions of his love and loyalty to robotnik is much worse than robotnik could have ever been

Finally read through all of the novelisations and Oh, God is there some Stobotnik content at times. I mean, sure, they removed some too or changed some lines- Stone gives Robotnik a different latte than in the first movie- but then there’s also this line in return.
‘Stone said in a clipped tone so beautiful it was almost mechanical.’
Like, I know it’s technically just about how Robotnik loves mechanical things but also, he called Stone’s voice beautiful. And then moments later there’s ‘Even his deadpan yes-man could not compare to the beauty of his botniks.’
Even. Which means he comes close. And once again, beauty is used. This is from Robotnik’s POV too. After that there really isn’t a lot, but then in the novelisation we immediately- well, almost immediately- get this.
‘came a voice that Robotnik had been belittling in his dreams for months.’ That voice is Agent Stone’s voice. Robotnik has been dreaming of the guys for months in the book. Like, that’s not a very straight thing to do. Then again, the whole ‘Agent Stone’ stone was kinda not straight too…
Then when they meet and Knuckles crushes Stone hands, he says that Stone falling to his knees was ‘an appropriate position, considering his place in the hierarchy’. That also just… sounds kinda gay to me. If u just focus on that first part of the sentence…
And tbh, there really isn’t a lot of Stone and Robotnik in the rest of the book. There are some little parts and Robotnik calling Stone ‘a fine, robust meal for his new body’ which also raises my gaydar, but nothing big. Mostly cuz there just isn’t a lot of scenes with them.
There seems to be a bit more in the third book tho. Stone immediately gets referred to as the guy who ‘follows Robotnik around like a lost puppy.’ And then when they enter the Crab, Robotnik asks if he came back from the store… something that just sounded very marry coupled like to me lol.
But they really just look to be closer here. Robotnik refers to Stone as his attendant and not inferior like he did in the previous books and soon after this follows one of my fav bits from the book. ‘Stone looked nervously around the room. Having such a dedicated manservant had many advantages, but their paralysing fear of disappointing you was not one of them. Robotnik would have to remember to smack that fear out of him when they were alone later.’
That just sounds… so ungodly gay to me. I’m not even joking- it really just does. There are a few more things too that I really want to cover, but unfortunately, I do need sleep, so that’ll have to come another time…

Stobotnik Role Swap AU
Been thinking through a Stobotnik role swap AU, trying to figure out their dynamic and what would change or stay the same. I think I finally settled on something I like and have a lot of thoughts about- Stone and Robotnik are still an agent and a brilliant scientist respectively, but the hierarchy of their relationship is flipped with Stone being the ‘boss’ and Robotnik as the ‘henchman’.
EDIT: Link to part 2!
Thoughts:
Stone (before the movies and during what would be movie 1) is a highly-decorated & respected shadow ops and/or special ops agent
He rose through the ranks thanks to his many varied talents, tactical brilliance, and his dedication to & success in completing his missions no matter what stands in his way
Robotnik is the shadow ops Break-Glass-in-Case-of-Emergency scientist. He’s called on when nobody else can get the job done, but they try not to give him any more funding or resources than necessary bc they’re scared of his eccentricity, antisocial nature, and sheer brilliance
Robotnik gets promoted to being directly under Stone’s command at Stone’s request - I’m thinking either bc Stone is assigned to investigate the Sonic EMP from movie 1 (he has to intimidate/persuade the military generals to let him take a chance on Robotnik, a little like Walters did in movie 1) or because pre-movies Stone decides he needs a scientist to join his team permanently for ease of access to customized tech or something
If it’s the second option, Stone goes to Robotnik with a test task to see if he’s good enough (he actually wants to see how Robotnik operates, but also does want to make sure the rumors of Ivo’s brilliance are true). Robotnik does his thing, Stone is speechless and amazed by the results. Stone decides then and there he HAS to have Ivo at his side. ('Doctor... this is... you're incredible.' 'Of course I am. That's why you're here.')
Also, whenever they first meet, Robotnik goes off on a rant or insults Stone, and Stone is taken aback (and delighted) by how Robotnik isn’t scared of him- Stone’s gotten bored of people being too easily intimidated by his status and reputation.. even if that is useful oftentimes
Stone secretly and maybe only subconsciously wants someone in his life who he can drop the formalities with, someone who doesn’t care about his rank and career and past
Ivo realizes (but won’t admit) he is grateful to Stone for giving him a more of a chance to be himself and to finally have the resources to work towards his robot dreams
This first post is mostly about their backgrounds and how they met. I've got a bunch more thoughts I'm organizing and will post soon with same tags as this post
Also might write fic or make some art for this..

i had to use a translator so apologizes if this isn't accurate of what is being said: [Dr. Stone was the one who fell in love first I'm sure I just think he was the one who fell in love first letting his agent Robotnik insult whoever he wants and never says anything I just think he was the one who fell in love first And how did he react when he realized these feelings]
oh boi buckle up cuz dis is a long one-
Stone is still the one to fall in love 1st, he just never realized it was more then just some scientific fascination with Robotnik's sporadic character. all previous experiences before he met rob he never truly understood the hype with human romance and believed it wasn't something he'll ever understand nor care for.
The main reason why Stone let him get away with his ill-mannered behavior towards higherups was mostly out of not wanting to interact with others and to make Robotnik a main target wherever they go, having an entire room captivated by his antics and putting stone in a sort of shadow behind him where he can observe everyone else without being disturbed.
It's until they were living in the crab with no motives for world domination or fighting for survival did he have the time to think for himself. It's during his recovery does Rob gets him into over dramatized telenovelas did he slowly begin to come up with his own conclusion of how he truly felt, based on the characters on screens confessions of love to one another, did he slowly notice a similar patten with himself towards rob. Not nearly as the same as the overplayed acts of passion but finding similar symptoms being said outload.
once he realized and came to terms with it, he felt content with life, giving up on the plans for world chaos and revenge. Happy with how him and Rob were, exploring the world and entertaining each other with new hobbies and experiences everywhere they went. He never tells Rob about this, He found no reason too as he didn't want things to change between them.
He suspected Rob might've already known.
but in the end he could have only wished he had told him.

working on something to post here that’s a bit odd, but I’m just so taken with it. it essentially boils down to “low level telepathy soulmate bullshit meant to torture robotnik specifically”. robotnik starts picking up subconscious thoughts from stone when they’re in the lab together and it leads to them kissing about it. how do i get from point A to point B? no idea!
included what i have so far under the cut in case anyone’s interested :D
*~~~~~~~~~~~~*
It starts with a whisper.
Touch me. Touch me.
Robotnik’s on hour 27 of his workday, and auditory hallucinations are fairly par for the course. As much as he likes to treat his body like a machine, there are still undeniable faults and quirks in his biological programming. And they are hallucinations, must be, because Stone is within eyesight and very unconscious, and the odd whispers are most certainly his voice. ( why exactly he is hallucinating stone’s voice saying such things is not something he wishes to look at directly, so he doesn’t. )
He does nothing about it. They’re easy enough to ignore, just barely audible and slipping between his own half-hearted mumblings as he finishes the final touches on the new prototype coming to life in his hands. Stone continues to sleep at his work station, slumped down onto his desk.
He’s doing that thing again where he lies so still and silent in his little corner that Robotnik half wonders if he’s even still alive, but he’s got Stone’s vitals up on a mostly unused holoscreen for monitoring, and he’s doing just fine. He ought to send the man home, but he’d just turn right back up at the lab with a head full of ideas about Robotnik’s own sleep schedule and health and what-have-you.
Touch me. Touch me.
He finishes the prototype right as the sun begins to rise again, and he pushes himself back away from his worktable, wheeled chair squeaking loudly in the otherwise silent lab. Stone jerks upright at the noise, vitals flashing briefly as he goes from deep slumber to wide awake alarmingly quickly. A slight gesture hides the vitals from view, dispelling the data as Stone stands from his desk and rejoins the land of the living with uncanny speed.
“Nice of you to rejoin us,” Robotnik drawls. “How was your beauty sleep?”
Stone’s only signs of having just woken up are the strands of hair coming free of his usual slicked back hairstyle and falling against his forehead, and the way he actually opens his mouth to answer the entirely hypothetical question. Robotnik cuts him off with a flapping hand before he can even begin. “Ababab— not interested. I need you to ready the indoor range for testing. This bad boy is finally ready for some hands on fieldwork.”
Stone lights up at the declaration, and he takes a couple cautious steps towards the worktables gathered at the centre of the lab floor. His eyes are all shiny and wide, filled with adoration that goes fully unhindered by his sudden awakening and apparent exhaustion. Robotnik magnanimously allows him closer, and then close enough to admire the prototype properly, knowing well what would come spilling out of his agent’s mouth.
You are magnificent. Incredible. A wonder to behold. I’m in awe of you, always, always.
“It’s amazing, doctor! Your work is magnificent, as always.”
Dual tones. Robotnik has to focus to parse the whispers, lurking just beneath Stone’s spoken words. They are so much more… they’re directed at him, in a way that Stone only rarely uses— sparing in his direct compliments after the incident with the incendiary grenade prototype that nearly demolished their entire working floor.
( look, it’d been a long day and Robotnik hadn’t expected such direct and effusive praise. he dropped the damn thing on accident and nearly lost both eyebrows AND his moustache. they don’t talk about it. )
He has to clamp down on every traitorous reaction his sleep-deprived body attempts to make in response to the perceived ego stroke. It’s not even real, for crying out loud! He allows himself a victory smirk at the real, verbal praise, however. It is rather incredible, isn’t it? “Of course it is, Stone. How could it be anything less?”
#stobotnik#fic#iggy fic tag#hehehe unleashing this unto you all as a lil test#I’ve never really posted wip fics on tumblr before so I’m nervous#but I figured I should finally post something that isn’t just half baked fic ideas#<3

A little rant about Robotnik's security measures, and how efficent Stone really is:
I do find it a little corny when people characterise/write Stone as the "secretly badass, most talented agent in the whole us army froce who killes with cold-blood and unmatched efficency, and is constantly saving Robotnik of attacks and danger he isnt even aware of " (not to hate on anyone who does like this, its just my personal preference).
*not to say he isnt good at his job as an agent, and he is nothing but efficent when it comes to working for the Doctor -
But! but. I do think that his agent skills go mostly unutalised while working for Robotnik. Like yes, the "his pookie gets kidnapped by some bad guys who want to get their hands on that robo-tech, so Stone's gotta rescue him" is a fun sexy little trope, but lets observe what we have at our disposal;
Robotnik is the supplier of the most advanced war-drones and high-tech weapons to the US Govrement. He has cameras everywhere, can trace anyone anytime anywhere, lives (well, as long as he's on away missions) in a big ass stainless steel box filled with badniks and has a handfull of agents following him around (probably on the govrement's behalf, rather than his.
That man has probably bullet/laser/acid/punch-proofed every weapon he has, has eyes on every corner, and gets a notice anytime someone even mentioned his name . He got security covered.
Thats why Stone mainly fills an assistant role for him. He gets him coffe and keeps his sceduel in check. So while i dont think Stone is the best ever agent/soldier/whatever, (i dont think they would put their best man on Robotnik, however of a ticking bomb he is), he is a good one. Robotnik tho, doesent even get a chance to see his skills, because his own security sistem renders him useless in that regard. Stone also never expects the Doktor's ambushes , either because he's absolutely smitten and has lowered his walls, or because he's focusing on keeping some order in the life of his the Doctor, Chaos Incarnate.
Stone isnt good at science, or politics or stuff like that, he is good at following orders to a tee, and using what he leant in his agent training whenever needed. We see evidence of his skills in the 3rd movie when he takes out the drones like its nothing.( He is a puppy that looks good in your purse, and you dont even realise its actually a hunt-dog)
(Okay now I'm just rambling on)
I guess what I'm trying to say is: however good he is, Robotnik isnt a princess to be saved, a damsel in distress, and however sexy Stone rescuing/protecting him is, Ivo's ego could never let such a situation occure.
(anyways write whatever jorks your meat tho. Do what you want forever or what they say)

hello!!! ooc question, but i am very curious about the story behind this askblog. i’m pretty sure it’s an au of sorts, definitely not directly from the movieverse judging by a few artworks, and i was just curious about the world and such that surrounds them! how did you fit stone into it all?
apologies if this is a strange question, i just love hearing people talk about their work
Oooo what a fun question, and for me specifically!!!
WARNING- Long rant ahead:
Is this an Au?:
Okay, so yes, this is an AU now, I suppose? So what is this AU exactly? I don't really know? I guess it's my perfect Sonic Universe built inside the recesses of my mind, with more of a heavy focus on Doctor Robotnik and Agent Stone than the actual Sonic team.
Does this AU take place in a specific Sonic!verse?/ Why and how is Stone here?:
I like to think it is my perfect mix of the movie-verse, comics, and games.
The movie I obviously pulled Agent Stone out of that universe and struck him right into this one. But I also change a lot of things around about his character and others to make him fit and the stories more complex and interesting.
Exhibit A: Stone is the one who built and designed Metal Sonic in this AU... and Robotnik doesn't even know Metal exists😀 (yet). (This one is personally based off my own desires and theories for the next movie.)
So what's this weird Sonic!verse hybrid AU that you've created? How does this world function???:
I'd like to think this universe takes place not on Earth but the planet Mobius ofc. Where humans are rare and mobians are more commonplace.
Robotnik and Stone did not grow up together they probably are from completely different human (only. I like to think humans are pretty isolated species considering their rarity here) cities or something like that, but they were both very involved and curious about the mobians that resided outside of human residencies. Their common interests and somewhat overlapping jobs brought them together.
I'm still fumbling around with these ideas in my head. If any like diehard "I've been a Sonic fan since the womb" fans have (kind!) suggestions I'd like to read 'em. They might inspire me.
How did you make their designs?:
The games mostly are what inspired their designs. Uh I took Eggmans design from Sonic Adventure 2 (iconic ofc I would) and I had to look at Stone from the movies, other people's designs, and Eggman's game design to basically wing it for that one. (Originally, I was only making the first drawing I did of them and the kiss experiment comic. It's only because they blew up, and I walked specifically petitioned for an askblog that I'm still here, haha🖐😭) I'm really glad that Stone's design seems to be so beloved, though. I made it in like... 15 minutes? If I had known his impact, maybe I would've spent longer, but honestly, I love him so I wouldn't change anything.

Ugh I explained this to Nat before but that was a vm and now I have to try to put it into text lol. Bear with me. Spoilers for Sonic 3 below...
So like Okay, original game Robotnik has that "machines are better than people and I love them and I hate people" thing going on. And movie universe Jimbotnik does the same thing right. Except his reasons for preferring machines are a little weird? To say the least.
When most people aspire to the perfection of the blessed machine they tend to focus on how machines are perfect because they aren't saddled with those pathetic human emotions, and how they're stronger and smarter and more perfect and all that. And like. There are elements of that with movie Robotnik don't get me wrong, he bullies Sonic for loving his friends, but we all know that's bullshit because his actual personality complex trauma thing stems entirely from being hurt that people don't like him? and nobody's ever genuinely cared about him enough to not betray/leave him, as we learned in movie 3. Daddy issues, et cetera.
The actual first reason he gives for why he prefers his robots, in movie 1, is that they do what they're told and they never need time off to go do stuff other than what they're told. What's worse is that he outright ignores the part about machines that don't line up with what he is. Machines are cold unfeeling things right? And Robotnik is a madman, just complete ditz entirely controlled by his emotions. He's all over the place. So obviously that isn't why he actually likes them. Nor does it seem to be because they're smarter or stronger.
Now all this wouldn't quite have clicked in my head and started forming a pattern, if I hadn't spent half a day getting ahold of reading the movie novelizations lol, they're not good exactly but they aren't bad either (not exactly) and they have this really interesting. Detail. Take. Choice, even, that stood out to me. In the novels we get exactly zero scenes written from Agent Stone's perspective. So he's entirely filtered through Robotnik as we see him. And, like. Robotnik ascribes? Robotic traits to him? That he straight up doesn't have?

This being the most infamous example... But it happens again at least once, which is a lot for the novels cus they're short as hell, where (from Botnik's pov) Stone takes on this more mechanical tone when talking to him or being around him, that he seems to like or prefer/speak positively of. Okay. Weird, homoerotic, but not entirely out of character.
It did make me think though. If Robotnik is kind of loose about why he actually likes machines. But is still adamant that they're good and humans are bad... And what he actually likes about them seems to be that they're... Loyal? I think. And they do what they're told. And they don't need time off to see their families and get laid and leave him alone I'm so sorry then. Well.
Those are traits a human being could very well have. For example, his actual human assistant, who's standing right fucking there as he says it. Right? Stone is still all that, he's loyal and he actually likes + is nice to him and he does what he's told and that's why he actually likes him, as we find out in movie 3, right? So.
What I'm saying is when. In the third movie when he says you were the only person who ever blah blah right. And, like, of course he was. Who would want to be loyal to? This dickhead who mostly wants to achieve world domination? Why would you want to do what a villain says? But Robotnik doesn't care about that, he likes being a villain and above that he's just hurt, right, by it all, and doesn't gaf if his own actions affect others so.
So he ascribes robotic traits to Stone not because they're actually there (Stone is professional when talking to others, but far from emotionless, and it is in fact his emotional connection to the dear doctor that makes him as loyal as he is) but. Rather because in his mind, Stone is on the same level as a robot, because he has the same traits that Robotnik actually. Likes about his robots. That mainly being loyalty, I think.
And, well. In the third movie granpappy Geralt hacks those robots of his and makes them stop obeying him, doesn't he. Not even they were entirely loyal by the end, much like Geralt himself, right?
You can't hack a human being, though.
Anyway. Keep your heads up, okay? I'm like. 99% sure Robotnik is fine (fight me in the comments I guess) and I tend to be good at predicting this stuff so he'll be back one way or another. Jim Carrey officially un-retired, the space station time travel thing is still an active theory, and they can't just fucking kill Eggman guys, come on. Cheers!🥂

Classic Stone and Eggman stargazing together, quiet moment like when stone was alone back in the Star Light Zone. Maybe some Eggman surprise at how soft he talks to the bomb badniks? Just super intrigued by their growing dynamic

They're not very good at bonding.

So, one of the critiques with the show I agree with most, is that post Voxman merge, we don't see much of any impact from it in most of the following episodes and that several episodes in s2/3 could've happened in season one without changing anything.
And so, I have come up with ways that they could've included more of the merge/voxman content in a few episodes!
ALSO, yes I know they can't retrospectively change this or anything and it's hard fitting everything into 11 minutes episodes etc etc, these are just hypotheticals for how *I* would've included more to show the merge's impact.
Starting off, the episode you guys know me for all too well, "OK AU"
Except- not for the swap gag at the end this time.
We see little to no impact that Venomous has on the actual factory work in the series, and this episode literally follows us seeing the 'day-to-day' of the bots. Even if he just monitors things or patrols occasionally with Boxman, it'd be nice to see his impact on the day-to-day, like how any new step-parent would shake life up.
Not to mention that with the new Bio-upgrades, he definitely could've been there to help show his more fucked up twisted side when it comes to experiments. The upgrades are shown almost like torture, and that's just normal ones. It would've been awesome to see that mad scientist side. The side of him who makes goo clones with souls just to torture heroes. Let him match his husband's freak.
Next up, we have the season 2 finale, "Dark Plaza"
To which you might be saying "Jack- Boxman is barely in the finale-!" to which I say. Yes exactly.
You see, with P.O.I.N.T.'s interference with the Plaza, special Foxtail, and the power-draining weapons they use, myself and I assume other people, assume that this was around the time the whole- backstory would come out to Boxman. (Or maybe it's just my hc, who knows!) And look, if that's the case it's a pretty heavy conversation. But, y'know what's a great way to lighten the mood after such a convo? That's right, being a dick to heroes when they're trying to have a nice moment. Let them steal glorbs together only to get launched into the sun!
Finally, and this one I mostly just think would be cute, "Let's Meet Sonic"
And look, I know this episode is meant to heavily reference the Sonic 90s shows specifically ontop of the game references, and I don't know much about Sonic in general so maybe Eggman has had evil partners, maybe he hasn't.
The robot-y make-y machine literally turns biological matter into metal. I mean, c'mon.
Also you guys totally would've predicted the homoerotic-ness that is Agent Stone and Robotnik in the movies, which, you couldn't have known was coming, but people already draw them as Voxman soooo.
Plus, and more importantly, IMO, it would've shown Venomous supporting Boxman's wants and goals beyond just buying back Boxmore. He has no reason to necessarily care about Boxy's college classmate and wants to one-up him, but helping him here regardless shows actual love and care between them. Plus the idea of experimenting on high-level (does 'ring' count as high-level?) heroes seems right up his alley regardless.
I know it only seems like three episodes and "that wouldn't even change that much!" But Boxman also doesn't have direct involvement in a lot of episodes, not to mention this is only post-merge s2 and pre-reveal s3, which proportionally is impacted a lot by 3 episodes including even a little more Voxmore shenanigans.

EVERYONE MEETS STOBOTNIK IN TROLLS VERSION 🥚❤️🪨

I originally planned to complete it for day 3 of Stobotnikweek2025 but coudn’t make it. And now its done ~~~Yayyy
And dont worry about Stone’s face. He’s just shy (not because y’all are looking at his Dr)

This is the first one (“test sample” if i use the right word)

Test 1 Test 2 (final)
These are their design. Funk rock troll Ivo Robotnik and Techno trolls Stone.
Ivo is an experiment combining the egg of funk trolls with the dna of rock trolls. Its not completely hybrid (i think) or an unethical experiment, but then funk trolls (hes born in Vibe City) mostly his guardian (scientists) treat him like an experimental specimen and consider him a dangerous element. And yes hes a genius, his personality is like in the sonic movie. He escaped from Vibe city when he was around 17 — 20 years old. And now is an inventor and scientist in Mount Rageous.
Stone was a soldier (agent ?) in Techno Reef. On a mission, he was betrayed, abandoned, and faced a sea monster alone until it bit off the lower half of his body. Somehow he escaped and drifted to the shore where Robotnik found him. Ivo healed Stone, giving him shape-shifting nanorobotic legs and implanted in his head a small chip to control the legs with his mind (also to control Stone). Have patient's permission to do all those things? NO.
As for Ivo, there is no stupid living creature that can be absolutely loyal to him so why dont make one.
And that's the information about them.

Been thinking about a Sonic movieverse swap, so you guys will have to listen to it:
First movie - Shadow’s asteroid crashes on Earth in the present. Instead of farmers and G.U.N., Maria Robotnik finds Shadow. Her grandfather is currently at a convention in San Francisco, leaving her home alone. She and Shadow bond until G.U.N. comes to investigate the asteroid drop. Maria and Shadow escape, deciding to get to Maria’s grandfather since he’ll either be able to protect Shadow or send him back to space. They road trip.
They’re pursued by Agent Stone, a high-ranking agent in G.U.N., and Stone’s assistant, Dr. Ivo Robotnik (which confuses Maria b/c Gerald never told her she had other family). Ivo makes robots, and Stone commands them like a general. Although Ivo’s the assistant, he’s still very egotistical about his position and how robots are superior. Stone, for his part, is so military-minded that he doesn’t even realize he puts up with Ivo’s BS because he loves—I mean, whatever Paramount says Stone feels about Ivo (they’re not fooling anyone)
The plot from there is mostly the same (tho Maria’s the reason they end up at the bar lmao). Shadow is allowed to stay with Gerald and Maria at the end, and they banish Stone to the mushroom dimension using a machine that Gerald made that repurposes Shadow’s chaos abilities (since they don’t have rings)
Second movie - Stone is rescued by the time traveler, Silver, who wants to defeat Shadow since he believes the Black Arms stole the (Master Emerald? But for the Time Stones). Silver and Stone go after Shadow while the hedgehog is home alone because Maria and Gerald went to somewhere for some reason (maybe a wedding still?). Shadow is rescued by Amy, someone who also came in search of the Time Stones in order to fix Little Planet. The plot also goes the same way, tho Shadow doesn’t so super, he goes… whatever the Time Stones make someone (which I actually have ideas for)
Amy and Silver fix their planet/future. They stay with the Robotniks, becoming the protectors of the Time Stones together
Third movie - Fifty years ago, Sonic escaped from Longclaw getting killed. He was immediately found by G.U.N. Still a young hoglet, he naturally gravitated toward Agent Tom and Dr. Maddie, a guard and scientist, respectively, at the blacksite. Sonic grew up with them as his parents. Eventually, he caused a universe blackout that made G.U.N. deem the project too dangerous. He tried escaping with Tom and Maddie, but Tom was killed. Maddie was imprisoned. Sonic was, too, and put in stasis per Director Rockwell’s orders (she’s switching with Walters)
Once Maddie’s freed, she frees Sonic and they plan to take out G.U.N., the rest of the world be damned by the crossfire. His freedom makes G.U.N. contact Shadow, Amy, and Silver for assistance
Maddie and Stone are not family, but Maddie does get into his head, first by appealing to his militaristic senses and then by learning part of him does want a family. She’s motherly to Stone up until they fight in the Eclipse Cannon
Sonic and Shadow have their Time Stone-powered fight and reconcile. Sonic and Stone sacrifice their lives to stop the Eclipse Cannon
Mid credit scene, I guess Shadow Androids show up, and Tails arrives to help Shadow stop them
Post credit, Sonic picks up his glove
