Motion Timelaps dans le jardin, Lunel

Deze techniek hebben we op een nieuwe presentatiemethode voorgesteld in een filmpje. Dankzij de combinatie van een filmtechniek met Marco en Micro, Snel en Traag, creëren we bijzondere aandacht voor detail. Hiervan hebben wij een korte film presentatie gemaakt waarin ons prototype een weergave geeft van hoe het er in het echt zou uitzien, maar met voorlopige materialen.

Op het filmpje hebben wij een aantal soorten beelden gecombineerd met elkaar:

-        Linksboven= micro trage details van de omgeving waarin planten de hoofdrol spelen

-        Rechtsboven= Timelaps waarin te zien is hoe de omgeving invloed heeft op ons reflecterend materiaal

-        Linksonder= stop motion waarbij de verschillende interieurs worden samengesteld

-        Rechtsonder= micro beelden, snel en traag over onze opstellingen

De belangrijkste beelden zijn de twee onderste twee, waarin je goed de verschillende meubels kan waarnemen. De stopmotion komt telkens overeen met de ingezoomde beelden rechtsonder.

Dankzij het combineren van een variatie van filmtechnieken illustreren we ons meubel met al zijn kwaliteiten en eigenschappen.

DCN Pick: 24 HOURS IN LOS ANGELES - DRONE TIMELAPSE by Beverly Hills Aerials // This video is the result of a 3 month drone journey throughout Los Angeles. We used every waking free moment to scout, plan, and shoot a variation of iconic locations and inspiring architecture. We shot approximately 50 different locations and only selected the absolute best shots. Our focus was on precision, speed, proper time of day, and most importantly, safety. The entire video was filmed with a DJI inspire 2 in Pro Res 422HQ.  This project has taken up approximately 4TB of space on our hard drives. Safety Precautions and Legalities: Every single shot in this video was completed in the safest means possible. This meant shooting at times when there was minimal or no pedestrian traffic. We shot everything in G airspace, or within areas that we have been granted FAA airspace waivers for. We used visual observers, hands-free radio communication, and also monitored proper airspace frequencies for nearby aircraft. We never flew over people, never flew over traffic, never flew over 400ft AGL (or 400ft above buildings), and ceased our flight operations at moments where abiding by FAA drone law would have been challenging. Some locations required multiple trips before the location was safe to shoot at. Self directed Video Project Proposal

 I think it would be cool to do a stop motion or timelaps video of some sort. It is also practicle given my reasources and tools at the moment. I want to explore ideas of beauty and/or individuality... I am also thinking about it having it specifically relate to people. 

My current plan is to have a drawing or painting stop motion or time-laps. I have in mind either doing a seed gowing into a tree (expressing life, death, birth, and/or beauty or a time-laps protrait drawing/painting expressing similiar ideas of beauty and individuality. To be honest thought, either one is looking quite daunting in the potential amount of work it might take (drawing thousands of pictures fram by fram...oof). The time-laps piece is looking to be my favorite right now. I have several creative ideas about how I could use paint or pencil with an auido/musical componet to capture what I am looking for. It is likely what I will do.

Mon avis sur le stabilisateur 3 axes Zhiyun Smooth 4

Le stabilisateur en lui même est bien. La finition est excellente, à part la molette il semble très solide. La stabilisation est très efficace, dommage qu'il ne pivote pas à 360 degrés. Il a une excellente autonomie. Les différents modes peuvent être un peu complexes à assimiler (pan follow, mode lock, phone go...). Là où cela se gâte c'est lorsqu'on évoque l'application. La version Android est très inférieure à la version IOS. Mieux vaut vérifier avant l'achat et sur le site du fabricant, ce que je n'ai pas fait et je le regrette, la compatibilité avec son smartphone. La version Android, avec mon HuaweiP20Pro, n'est pas totalement fonctionnelle et certaines fonctionnalités plantent, comme les panoramiques 3*3. Il me semble qu'il y a beaucoup plus de fonctionnalités avec la version IOS. On peut faire des timelaps, motion time laps, des ralentis, un effet vertigo et un mode de suivi très sympa. Gros point négatif, les vidéos sont plafonnées à 30 images par seconde quelque soit la résolution choisie si on se sert de l'application ZYPlay. Vivement une grosse mise à jour !!

Syrp Genie Mini Motion Control is a new photography product on the market to use in conjunction with your camera or GoPro along with a tripod for smooth panning to put it in short. So lets explain this in some more details.

The company that designed and made the product is Syrp and in their own words its a Motion Control that fits in your pocket. The Genie mini is an extremely easy-to-use device to create smooth panning motion time-lapse or real-time video. Wirelessly connect to the Genie Mini using the Syrp Genie App for quick setup and simple control.

I was taking a trip to Cuba in February this year, so what better place to put the Syrp Genie Mini to the test. For this I was going to concentrate on two functions, Timelaps and video for smooth panning. Using a GoPro Hero 5 Black and recording in 1080p for speed when transferring from the GoPro to my iPad.

Syrp Genie Mini App

You need to download the App on to your phone or iPad to setup and control the Syrp Genie Mini. Everything is straight forward even to a point of having presets for motion control. You can dive in to the manual settings for a more custom panorama.

Above you can see the settings workflow for the Time Lapse using the GoPro as the camera. After setting up the start and end points for the Genie all you have to do is press record on both devices then sit back and watch the magic happen.

Syrp Genie Mini Pros

The one thing I will say about using this small portable device is you’re going to get amazingly smooth panning and time laps videos. This will certainly improve your videos and make for a much better watching experience for little cost, but most important portable. On the device its self there is a simple on and off button and also a charging port. If you’re wanting to do image time laps you can purchase a separate cable that will allow you to plug your camera in to the Syrp Genie Mini allowing the app to also control your camera.

The Syrp Genie Mini is a Bluetooth enabled device and this is how it will connect to your phone or tablet, so remember to charge the unit before heading out.

Syrp Genie Mini Cons

With every good point there is always a bad point. Lets have a look at what I think needs improving. One thing to note is if you’re doing a video pan you can’t use the audio from the footage. This is due to your cameras microphones picking up the sound of the motors from the Genie Mini. Look at the test video I’ve covered to outline this. You will see the audio is unusable.

The next point is the on and off button on the device. It’s so easy to turn the device on with just a light tap on the side. Imagine you have fully charged the unit before heading out on a full days shoot only to find its flat when you get there.

Conclusion

I had a lot of fun with the Genie Mini in the short time I’ve used it. This will definitely become a part of my video kit bag for getting smoother panning. Imagine covering a property video for an estate agent. This would give you perfect smooth panning on a small footprint.

With a price tag of around £275 its well worth it compared to the professional sliders you can purchase in the thousands.
