@courtesons College had been a bit of challenging time for Jason. He'd been working his ass off to maintain his grades, keeping his shifts at work and just trying to survive another semester. It had become a sort of hard thing to just manage it all at once. That was why when he was offered the chance to move in with his brother? He took it. It just made sense, and it helped him stay a bit more focused on school. He didn't have to worry about making money to pay rent or fees or whatever. Even if it was just for one semester.
Jason and Nick had spent the day moving his things into the apartment. It was much nicer than the one he was able to afford near the college. As the two jocks had placed the last of his things in the house, both of them kind of just looked around. His eyes lit up as he looked at Nick. "Alistair really did well for himself." The red head shot out as he turned to his friend. "Yeah, he was always the one we knew would break free of everything." As the younger brother moved through the room for a moment, he grinned as he took it all in.
"Look, I've got to go get to class, but I'll come by later okay?" Nick shot out as he turned for the door. "Yeah, sounds good!" Jason hollered as he waved him off as he headed into the bedroom. There was always this feeling that Nick loved hanging around him for his older brother, but it never really bothered him. He was still a good friend, and he was someone who helped him get through everything so far.
As he heard the door close, he called out for his brother. "Alistair where are you?!" The young, dark haired man pushed open the bedroom door to see the most magnificent setup. "Holy shit.." He whispered out as he stepped inside.

still boggles my mind that in the year 2024 most players still ignore anora's character just to reduce her to a lying backstabber, when she only goes against you if:
you reveal her identity to ser cautherine and howe's soldiers, defeating the entire purpose of her disguise and also ignoring what she told you literally one minute before about how they can't know she's escaping with you - thereby betraying her first
you ignore her completely in denerim after she asks you to come talk to her, and only show up to the landsmeet
you bring up loghain's fate, and when she tells you that she would rather him be spared if possible, you tell her to her face that her father has to die

I understand Loghain sympathizers I really do but I just can’t deny Alistair his justice. He’s my baby girl and if he wants to commit legalized murder in a dual I’m going to let him and if he wants me to do it I’m going to do it.

Do you think the Doctor ever told anyone what happened in the parallel world? Do you think he ever had nightmares about it? Do you think he ever looked at someone and saw their parallel world counterpart? Do you think he ever accidentally called the Brigadier “Brigade Leader” whenever they had a heated argument, maybe over the Brig’s methods? Do you think he ever looked at Liz with her fair ginger hair and imagined it turning black and burning like Section Leader Shaw's? The Brigadier gets shot in another invasion and as the medics lay him on the ground to be treated the Doctor sees the Brigade Leader on the floor after being shot by the Section Leader.
Do you think the others noticed anything off with the Doctor in the weeks after? Do you think they worried over him? Benton observing that the Doctor seems uneasy around him sometimes when Benton's standing near him with a gun, even though they both know he'd never hurt the Doctor. The Brigadier noticing that the Doctor seems more standoffish with him at times. They've always had their fair share of disagreements but it's like there's another wall between them when they talk now. After the Inferno Project is shut down Liz and the Brigadier, curious, ask the Doctor how he'd known what would happen and what to do, since he'd disappeared for hours and then spent most of the time unconscious and he looks at them with an expression of such grief and despair that they find themselves regretting asking. They never actually get an answer.
Someone tries to restart Project Inferno or start a similar project involving drilling into the Earth and the Doctor explodes and is practically hysterical as he tells them to shut it down and stay away from any attempts at drilling into the Earth. Everyone at UNIT knows the Doctor's always had little patience for human incompetence but even for him this seems overboard. The Brigadier once again asks him what's wrong, but the Doctor brushes him off or blusters and gives him a non-answer.
The Doctor tries to move past it. It's not easy and it takes time, but things get better. He doesn't slip up in front of Benton or the Brigadier anymore, doesn't overreact. He's got a new assistant, he's focusing on fixing the TARDIS, and with the Master here pulling a new scheme every Wednesday things are more interesting and he's always being kept busy with something. He thinks that maybe things are all right now, and will be all right. That maybe he can put what he saw and experienced in the parallel world to the back of his mind.
Then he gets strapped to the Keller Machine and the memories and fears are all brought back to the surface again in vivid detail.

mental note next to the list in my head of minerva’s principles/lines she won’t cross that says “okay but it would be sexy if she used her companions as blood batteries more often. minerva have you considered that it would be sexy”

I saw someone defend Gaider’s Alistair tweet and idk I respect he wrote the character but my bottom line is interacting with creators and actors on social media is weird and I would prefer a wide berth. Like outside the text I do not want to hear their opinions ever.

38-40 for diya (for both timelines!!!)
38. Is there any decision that the Warden regrets? If so, which is it and why? How would they change it?
in ylva's worldstate (kirkwall timeline) her biggest regret comes down to not helping jowan. it might not have changed anything in the end, but he's dead and he died hating her because she let irving talk her into involving herself so lily would at least face the same consequences that jowan inevitably would. getting one over on the chantry and being too cautious to stick her own neck out seems so fucking pointless in hindsight.
in her & gavin's worldstate, it's choosing not to use blood magic in redcliffe (for fear of being outed as a maleficar) and pushing alistair to take up the mantle of king. she would give anything to go back and do something differently. she'll never be able to forgive herself for either of these!!!!
39. Do the events of the Fifth Blight haunt the Warden or have they moved past it completely?
in ylva's worldstate, it's complicated. leliana's death haunts her a bit, i think, because in hindsight she sees herself in leliana. aside from that, most of her nightmares feature the events of uldred's rebellion and the complete destruction of the tower. that's where she saw people she grew up with turn into abominations & that's where she had to take a life for the first time. you can't really move past something like that.
in her & gavin's worldstate............. see answer for 38. the piles and piles of bodies at redcliffe (her fault) & alistair's death (her fault!!!) will haunt her forever. it's years before she can even bring herself to return to ferelden, and when she does it's only to fulfil her responsibilities to the wardens. when she insists on staying in the fade to buy the inquisitor time, it's her repentance.
40. How does the Warden feel about the Calling?
in ylva's worldstate it kind of feels like a bad joke. she can run from the wardens as much as she likes, but deserter or not she'll always be a warden. that one bethany line that's like "i am dead, it's just taking it's time"? exactly that. it's hard to say whether it'll come for alistair or her first, but if it's the former, she fully intends to join him on his calling (and vice versa). they do not talk about this though. it's more of a silent conviction that they're not letting each other venture back into the deep roads alone.
in her & gavin's worldstate, up until she chooses to stay back in the fade, she's actually looking forward to her calling. she misses the simplicity of being able to level a camp full of darkspawn with her magic without dealing with the politics of it all. she thinks it'll probably be a relief when the end comes.
