Sending this ask because I wanted to tell you I’ve started Mr. Osomatsu!
And I’m fucking loving it. Holy shit, I don’t know really what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t this (in the best way possible.) I’ve watched the first three episodes and I just had a big goofy smile on my face the whole time!!
Every time Karamatsu speaks I get jumpscared hearing Bruno’s voice 😭 it makes me so happy!! 😭 oh my god the things he says kill me. Do you know how much edit potential Karamatsu’s lines have??? I could just rip his audio and slap a picture of Bruno on it 😭
I’m watching the subs right now, but do you know where I can find the dubs? I’ve seen clips and I NEED to watch them. I’m having a hard time finding them...
OMG IM GLAD YOU ENJOY IT YAAAAAAYYY💙💙💙💙
Tumblr media
(If you can accept the insanity/stupidity it’s such a fun little show :>)
And I feel you on the voices part😂
I had the opposite effect when I watched part 5
I was like: „What is Karamatsu doing in my JoJo????“ i couldn’t believe my ears back then pffff
When I heard his voice I automatically see Karamatsu and since he and Bruno have such strong differences when I heard him it had me like: Woah 😳😳😳💦
Loved it (And the more you watch of the show the more you see Karamatsu could actually work as a JoJo character lol)
ALSO YES I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT MULTIPLE TIMES THAT I SHOULD MAKE BRUNO SAY HIS LINES LIKE I DID HERE:
Tumblr media
Gosh can you imagine a world where Bruno is super goofy, flirty and a try-hard cool guy?
„So you are finally here, Bucciarati Girls~“
Tumblr media
(You inspired me with new art ideas thank youuuuu💕✨)
As for the dub there is a reason why it’s so hard to find. From what I heard there were difficulties with the dubbing but I’m not fully sure of it💦
To my dear Oso-san fans can you help us out? Do you by any chance know where you can watch the Eng dub?

Back on my Osomatsu bullshit
The stage play is fucking insane, it's got some key things that I really love, for instance the sextuplets all wearing different kinds of jeans? Nice touch, like actual perfection.
And whatever this scene is? It's peak Karamatsu

VIZ Media just put a bunch of official, complete anime on YouTube for free
Exactly what it says on the tin. Here's the link to the official article from Viz. There are ads* ofc but to be able to watch these for free in HD is a pretty big deal.
Note that they are all Japanese dub, English sub. (The subtitles are not YouTube captions but part of the video itself, for whomever it may concern)
Here's the current list w/ links to the official playlists:
Death Note (All 37 episodes)
Hunter x Hunter (Seasons 1-3, 148 episodes)
Inuyasha (COMPLETE SERIES W/ ALL THE MOVIES)
Mr. Osomatsu (Seasons 1 & 2, 50 episodes)
Naruto (Seasons 1-8, 220 episodes)
Sailor Moon (COMPLETE SERIES)
Handful of other movies, 4 of them are Inuyasha that's already been stated above but includes TIGER & BUNNY, K Missing Kings, Accel World, etc.
I hope this helps someone who's been wanting to watch one these shows! I know most people don't get news from Viz so I didn't want this to just go quietly under the radar because this is actually p nice to have in a world where you either have to pay for or pirate everything. I really hope they add more titles in the future!
*Also, they say ads but I use Firefox w/ uBlock and all the other anti-capitalist goodies and I've watched the first SM episode and gotten no ads so this may actually be an avoidable thing for a lot of us so like,,, go watch some free anime luv lmao
EDIT: I have been informed that this is not available in counties outside of America. Which isn't surprising but is disappointing. If someone w/ a VPN wants to let me know if they can work around this lmk and I'll update here.
EDIT 2: Quote from an Anon:
"Windscribe VPN on my phone worked for watching Viz media's anime uploads! I'm sure there's better and less limited free options but that's the one I found with a quick search to try it out. Haven't tried it on a laptop though so can't comment on it's viability there."
Tysm for letting me know Anon!!
EDIT 3: Via @eunbinppap
#one of protonvpn's free options is the us

Mah boi Ichi!!!😱😱
The game is really fun👏 If you guys want to play it it’s free to download at any App Store👍

Hey dude, I followed you accidentally and stayed for the meme content but I must ask: what is Otomatsu? Is it current? Is it old? Is there a plot? I appreciate your enthusiasm for it but I honestly don’t know what is going on.
Oh! Osomatsu-kun (which could be translated into “Little Osomatsu”) is a manga that ran from the early 60s to the early 90s in Japan, written by Fujio Akatsuka, who’s sometimes referred to as the father of gag manga. It’s pretty slapstick and centers around the daily lives of the Matsuno brothers, who are identical sextuplets along with a supporting cast of characters such as Iyami, a local con man who’s always trying to swindle them out of their money, Chibita, a street urchin kid who’s always competing with them, Totoko, a short-tempered girl they have a crush on Dekapan, a mad scientist that exclusively wears boxers and nothing else, between others.
Tumblr media
This manga was aimed at kids and teens and was adapted into an anime twice: once in 1966 and once in 1988.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2015, however, to celebrate Akatsuka’s posthumous 80th birthday, the manga was retooled into an anime again, this time named Osomatsu-san (also known as Mr. Osomatsu) and aimed at teens and adults. It again centers on the daily lives of the Matsuno sextuplets, who are now young adults with pretty distinct personalities from one another and chronically unemployed.
Tumblr media
It was a big commercial success so, in addition to the first season that was planned, it got a second season in 2017 and a third season in 2020 with the addition of a 2019 movie, a 2022 movie and a third movie planned for July 2023! Also, the first two seasons were dubbed in English in 2018 and 2019. So while Osomatsu-kun is old, Osomatsu-san is is pretty recent and there’s still content coming out! I talk a lot about it because Iyami is like… my favorite fictional character in anything ever, heh. The con man guy, I mean.
There’s not THAT much of a plot, though! -kun works kind of like Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry cartoons do: the characters stay the same but the situation they’re in changes. So the characters might or might not already know each other, some stories are set in different time periods and the like. -san has slightly more of a continuity but marginally so.

It's been a while since I watched the show, what's currently going on with it? How many seasons so far and is it still going on or has it ended. I think I stopped at Season 2 and remember that there was a movie.
So at current there are 3 seasons subbed, with the first two seasons having an English dub. There are actually three movies out as well (fourth one on the way this July in Japan). My prediction is if this latest movie does well in theaters, they'll make a fourth season. The movies are listed below (if you need a link to any of these, please hit me up I have resources for everything):
Tumblr media
Eiga no Osomatsu-san (Mr. Osomatsu: The Movie) - 2019
Tumblr media
Osomatsu-san the live action movie - March 2022
Tumblr media
Osomatsu-san: Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu (Mr. Osomatsu: The Hipipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit) - July 2022

BILLY KAMETZ: Born March 22nd 1987 Died June 9th 2022.
This man was the voice actor responsible for many beloved characters over the years.
He is the English Dub voice actor for the following roles:
Josuke Higashikata (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable)
Naofumi Iwatani (Rising of the Shield Hero)
Rui (Demon Slayer)
Macaque (Lego Monkie Kid)
Naoto Kurogane (BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle)
Takuto Maruki (Persona 5 Royal)
Ferdinand Von Aeger (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
Shinya Yukimura (Science Fell In Love, So I Tried To Prove It)
Nenji Ogata (13 Sentinals: Aegis Rim)
Osomatsu (Mr Osomatsu)
Raidou Kuzunoha (Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster)
Jerrom Laesmi (Triangle Strategy)
Shinichiro Sano (Tokyo Revengers)
Ren (Pokemon Journey’s)
Blue (Pokemon Masters EX)
Alice Asmodeus (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun)
Galo Thymos (Promare)
Metal Lee (Boruto)
Shigeru Aoba (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Kineshi Hairo (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.)
Some of these characters, most notably Maruki and Ferdinand, feature some of my favourite voice performances of all time. But I will never be able to listen to Billy’s amazing performances again, as he passed away by the hand of cancer on June 9th.
I can’t say anything about this that hasn’t been said already, but the sickening feeling of coming to terms with the death of someone this incredible is hard. It’s like there’s a hole in your stomach; like something in your life will forever be missing.
Any other VA in the industry that knew him will tell you this, but Billy Kametz was more than just a voice actor. He was a great friend, and a great man, and a great person all around.
I know that it’s not the way the world works, and I know that I alone am powerless to change the course of life and fate, but it’s unfair that incredible people like Billy Kametz can be taken from us when he was only 35, whereas some of the world’s worst (not to name any names) just can’t kick the bucket soon enough. It’s not fair that diseases like cancer can just take away the better people in the world, and cut their lives short.
The last thing I’ll do in this post is post a link below to Billy’s obituary. I don’t know if I’m allowed to do this, but there’s a limit to exactly what I alone can say about all of this. The point is Billy Kametz was an incredible voice actor and an even more incredible human being, and he will be missed.

Happy 25th anniversary to Animax!
For those who don't know: Animax is a Japanese animation satellite television network owned by Sony that was launched on May 20th, 1998, dedicated to broadcasting anime programming. The channel also dubbed other cartoons in Japanese language. (source: Wikipedia)
Tumblr media
I also forgot to mention that Animax also has a sister channel: Kids Station, which was launched on April 12, 1993, making the channel 30 yrs old as I am writing this post. For those who don't know what it is, it's a Japanese children's television channel showing anime and other cartoon material. While children's programming is their primary demographic, they have also been known to air some teen and adult-oriented anime during the evening hours like Narutaru, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Mr. Osomatsu, Genshiken, Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, Kujibiki Unbalance, and Rosario + Vampire. It is broadcast 24 hours a day on cable and satellite TV. (source: Wikipedia)
(It's more of a late anniversary post for the latter channel, since I didn't know that channel's existence at the time)
Animax is more known for its Southeast Asia channel that was launched on January 11, 2004 (19 yrs old soon to be 20 next year). It's, according to Wikipedia, a pay television channel in Asia owned by KC Global Media Asia that broadcasts Japanese language anime and Simulcast them through English language feeds in Southeast Asia sans Brunei, South Asia and East Asia. It was also the first television channel in Asia dedicated to anime.
Tumblr media
-------
Overall, Animax is the best place for not just anime, but also everything else that is broadcasting in Japan. In fact, I was thinking of using this network as the basis for my new series; Animax is the main character, followed by Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. Kids Station, Cartoonito/Boomerang, Nick Jr/Noggin, and Disney Jr will be their sisters. Crunchyroll and Aniplex (both also owned by Sony) are Animax's childhood friends, and that's as far as the characters goes. I'll start working on the webcomic at the start of June, and the series would be scheduled for launch in October 2023. As for the animated series, I think I would push it forward by 2 years, since I'm still working on animation. The name of the series would be titled Rebineru - a portmanteau of the Japanese romanizations of television (テレビ lit. terebi) and channel (チャネル lit. chaneru). I'm thinking that the premise of the series would be something akin to the Hyperdimension Neptunia games - 4 nations guarded by our main characters who are able to transform into their super forms via "shares" and fight off the series' main antagonists. (I might try to rework that later on though). Though this "anniversary" post came off as longer than I thought, since it was also a "development" post regarding my series, I made this as a way to remind Western anime fans about this channel's existence and how they feel about. It's not really popular outside of Japan or SEA, and even if it is brought up it's mostly about their poor-quality "dubs". Animax is a very underrated channel and I want it to see it get the love it deserves. Thank you all for reading this.

You may know Billy Kametz from one of his many works - notably, he was the English voice actor for  Persona 5 Royal’s Takuto / Dr. Maruki, Mr. Osomatsu as the titular character, Demon Slayer’s Rui, Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ Ferdinand, and JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure’s Josuke Higashikata.
These are just a few of Billy’s roles, and there’s a large chance that he has voiced a character that you love, and may not have realized it was him.
I, personally, knew him first and foremost as Galo Thymos’ voice actor from Promare.
While I never got the chance to meet Billy, I have heard nothing but great things about his encounters. Everyone mentioned that he was a kind guy with a golden heart; he loved cosplays, and loved meeting his fans. He put his heart and soul into every role he was given, and the same was true of his personal life - despite his diagnosis, Billy fought like the warrior he was until the very end. He kept in high spirits and encouraged others to do the same.
I think he would want that now, too.
With the absence of Billy, the world shines a little less brighter. While Billy may not be with us, his work is forever immortalized in the roles he voiced, and in the many characters he brought life and energy to. If you look through his list of roles, you may find one or two that he voiced that you didn’t know; he could make a character heart-wrenching and sympathetic, he could make a character passionate and full of zest, and whenever he played a villain, he could make them menacing and dark.
Loss is never easy. However, one’s legacy continues beyond that - and just as people had nothing but good things to say about Billy in life, the same will occur for decades onward. Today is rough, and many are mourning; I’ve seen voice actors and artists alike.
The English Dub of Promare was widely beloved in Japan, many loving the energy and spirit Billy brought to the role. I have seen nothing but kind words toward him today, and I am certain that will continue for ages, and ages, to come.
Billy Kametz was a very, very talented voice actor, and his work will always be remembered.

had a dream where im sure my mind conflated the tma fears with some of the eldritch elder friends of lovecraft... and i guess some parts of the D eternals of The Sandman? Their rules, at the very least.
it was about The Extintion (sometimes dubbed destruction). mostly. its avatar was of a girl who looked too much like leon from re4 but girl wwww. there was also carmina and motherfucking mr osomatsu (hence the reason im not even gonna tag this shit) but it was good, p tense. it was about her growth i guess, gaining an identity and prayer.
sadly i woke up too early
maybe that means something?
