What is the Wolf Warriors?

Wolf Warriors is my fanfiction series that I make through animatics, small info videos and occasional text posts. It has no formal format. It simply is in whatever medium I feel like. You're welcome to just watch the videos or go through the posts if you feel like learning more!

The story itself takes place after Book 12 and has no association with Dragons by DreamWorks. If Cowell writes more books, I probably will not add them to my story. It depends. For now, I only follow the canon of books 1-12.

Foam Rage Story: The war is over and love is in the air... In a formal chief sort of way. With the Wolf Warriors back alongside the Vikings, Madguts has also revealed he was on all along. He also has an eye out for his royal claim, after he marries Mewgull the Wolf Warrior princess, of course. First he has to complete the Impossible Task, which has a severe catch set by an old nemesis of his... his future(but dead) brother-in-law.

Go into the Uglithug territory, just by Bloodspilt Bay and find the old Wolf Warrior home. Simple right?

Suddenly the whole Archipelago seems interested in helping Madguts out. Afterall, it must be because he's a stand up guy with no enemies whatsoever.

Please note: My story animatics are all rough drafts. I am not a studio. I am a single person. I also do not have a computer. I use an iPad and it cannot handle a lot of elaborate images in one file. Id also like to have the story published at some point in my lifetime. Im not aiming for the most amazing graphics, just decent story telling and entertainment for others. To be honest, I already want to scrap it and startover but I might as well keep going. Keep adding more to the pile and hope it sorts itself out somehow LOL

WW Backstory: Hello, my name is Hatman. Ive been obsessed with HTTYD since 2007. I was at the height of my wolf phase and made a fan fiction as most undiagnosed kids do. It was dramatic, edgy, and all the things most 12 yr olds fanfictions were. As I got older I stopped drawing it but I kept working on it in my head. I reread the books in 2022 in full for the first time in years and it made me realize - who cares? Im gonna make it.

It has been very healing to work on it and bring something my young self from all those years ago would enjoy. I certainly hope you do as well.

WHAT ARE THINGS?

You maybe inclined to call them objectheads but they call themselves 'Things'. They're animate objects! The origin of the term is unknown and many meanings have applied to it. However, it always refer to the people known as 'Things'.

Ok, but what are Things?

They can be any object from our world. They tend to be items from the same time period or older. Rarely, they are raw food items, i.e., Douglas Coir.

Grammar

Things do not refer to imanimate objects as 'Things'. Things refer to themselves with the term since they're sentient. Objects are referred to as 'stuff, it, item, etc.' Terms like "Something", "Nothing", and "Anything".

The terms below and primarily used in the Frontier and not used on the Mesa. Still, they stand as examples of how terms with 'thing' carry weight in their world.

Something - a very important Thing in the Frontier. The Somethings are their own organization.

Nothing - a Thing who is of no status, broken or generally disliked

Farthing - a Thing who travels or lives far from the Frontier, outsiders on the Mesa don't use this term for themselves. The term is a bit convulded in modern times since now it can also mean nothing or an outlaw who is a Thing.

Fun facts:

- They primarily live on the Grand Mesa in a city called the Frontier

- They don't really have a concept of genders, but think pronouns are dandy

- They take great care of their possessions and would rather fix it than toss it

WHAT ARE RAPTORS?

Raptors are the most numerous species, far outnumbering the Things. The Things of the Frontier do not welcome the Raptors. What they have in mind is vicious and scary monster who is simply a predator.

However, in the rest of the world, the reality is much different. Things and Raptors get along just fine.

While Things live primarily on the Grand Mesa, Raptors live all over and come in all sorts of species. They can be taller than an average human or as tall as a Labador.

Ok, but what are Raptors?

They're not velociraptors or dinosaurs, yet they are? They're closer to birds with a carnivorous appetite. Even closer than dinosaurs. Or exactly like dinosaurs? We will say 'dinosaur inspired' before the dino nerds ravage me.

As previously mentioned, they can come in many species. All with different behaviors, attributes, skills that aid them in their environment. Collectively they all have dewclaws, feathers and sharp teeth.

She's the scariest critter you'll ever encounter. Her and her clan are seeking revenge which has careened the Grand Mesa into a whole hubbub of chaos.

The Things of the Frontier are concerned with one goal and thats being Something. No Thing wants to be Nothing.

Derby Bowler, who grew up as a Nothing, has made the seemingly impossible goal of becoming a Something. Yet the celebration is cut short when they don't show up for work.

Book 1 is finished but in the process of being illustrated. Im also researching best fronts and formats that are dyslexic and ADHD friendly

15 Years of HTTYD! ANNIVERSARY POST!

tl;dr: Ive been in the fandom since the far off ancient year of 2007 so this is a brief reflection of all that

Posting this today on the Winter Solstice, an important day for the Vikings, seemed fitting. Expand for the full text (there's pictures too!)

In the Winter of 2007, my middle school English teacher took us to our weekly Thursday trip to the library. I'd check out any book with the word 'dragon' in the title. I came across How to Train your Dragon by Cressida Cowell and immediately checked it out. I became so obsessed with the book that I learned the hard way that you can only recheck out a book so many times. Thankfully, my parents had given me some money for Christmas and took me to Books-A-Million after the new year! I think the specific date was Jan 8th.

To my ecstatic delight, there was not one, but THREE BOOKS now! After buying them, we went to Cici's Pizza and I had to convince my parents to let me bring them inside. I promised them I would be careful not to get any pizza on them.

I carried those books around with me daily! They were always with me at school. They got scratches all over the covers but they were my friends so I always had them around. I made so many stories of my own through them.

I have this memory of my dad walking into my room while I was reading How to Speak Dragonese.

"You're reading that again?" he asked.

"Ye...."

"We need to get you some new books." was all he said.

It used to say Mew on the inside of the cover before I decided to put the date down instead. That was my first internet name from my ye olde Neopets days. I named myself and all my characters that because I was so bad with naming.

I came up with Mew (now Mewgull) as my first HTTYD OC! She was the an heir to a large kingdom and she turned into a wolf ( I was obsessed with Wolf's Rain and nu-metal AMVS ok? )Then came along her brothers, the Dreadful Drones and the Wolf Warriors as a whole, my first LGBT+ characters (that I can remember at least) and many many more. Mew became my first mascot for my art and eventually I made my own "fursona" (before I knew what that was) based off her.

Annnnnd of course, tons of fan art, animations and even a Doomfang fursuit head. Most of this stuff was lost to time but some I was able to keep! I'll be uploading what's left of my old artwork here soon! I plan to do some redraws as well! ^_^ Some are already on my ancient sarcophagus of a deviantART account

For memories and funnies: here's my Fishlegs cosplay for "Dress up as your favorite book character day" at school! I don't know if it's embarrassing or endearing but hey, man, it was 2012.

I made the helmet and the necklace myself! I kept the luck lobster claws for a long time but I guess I got rid of them. :( Maybe in the future I'll make another pair! And yes, that's my Horrowcow I'm holding! Thanks mom for takin the picture!

Anyway, if you stuck around this long, I sure do appreciate it. These were all some of the many core memories I had and I love talking about them. I'll probably have many more sentimental ramblings like this in the future (... Sure hope "the Dreadful Drone" doesn't take on a new meaning) and of course, my old art. I'm really happy with how well of a reception my art was got on here so far. Thank you all.

Personal blurb:

This blog is made not only as an art project but as an emotional healing project. I stopped drawing my HTTYD works due to a traumatic event in my life back in Dec 2012. So, coming back to it a decade later is facing a fear of mine. Its hard to describe but the nostalgia, the memories, the dreams I had that I lost all the way back then. Ive had to face them all again when working on this.

Im very anxious whenever I post but I try to do it with the full heart and passion that I feel when I draw. There's that typical anxiety of "What if everyone hates it?" "What if no one even notices?" "What if someone has this idea since I've had it?" that I fight off every time I draw or post.

In the end, I'm just trying to have a good time, heal so old wounds, publish a story and hope people will enjoy what I make.
