So... I just got a email regarding bottom surgery and it said that ppl who are awaiting 2nd stage will be from 2022 and take up to 2y. But a previous email said they are starting surgeries early Dec. How is it acceptable they prioritize ppl who have not had surgery vs those who are struggling with dysphoria bc they're in between stages?? I don't mean to upset people. But being inbetween is far worse than waiting longer for first stage. I am absolutely depressed I already waited 1yr+ for the 2nd

This is the first I have heard of emails being sent out. Where has this been sent from?

After talking to Mr Christopher he also suggested that they have to get others started and into the system.

Mr Christopher said that he does not know when he will begin operations again, but like your email he said I should not expect to have surgery next year (I’m between stages). Once again it appears that these emails are not correct as no surgeries have started and MrChristopher clearly said he had no idea when he would be starting again, so if he was starting this month, it would be hoped that he would have said so.

You are absolutely right that being between surgeries is worse than waiting to start. This is not to cause upset or to downplay the distress caused by waiting to start (as we’ve all been there), but unless you are between surgeries no one can understand what it is like to be between surgeries or experience serious complications caused by failed surgeries. Unfortunetly the feeling I got was that the surgeons do not care about complications and that perhaps the nhs give them a quota of people they have to get into the system, but do not care what happens after that. They are also not responsible for fixing many of the problems their surgeries cause. But instead expect local urologists to know what to do to help (which they don’t).

Everyone may want to start putting in official complaints against the NHS and particularly the service provided by the bottom surgery team. However, people cannot expect that others will just fight this fight for them, this effects so many guys and everyone must use their own voice.
