Mr. Poet is a clothing and accessory brand that has been on Second Life for well over 10 years. Recently they have released a brand new male mesh body and head for their brand. Check out this guide to the new content released by the brand!

OVERVIEW

The SIGURD male mesh body was released in June of 2021. It is fully compatible with BOM. In the package it comes with 2 versions of mesh bodies. One is BOM and the other uses applier skins that are built into the HUD. The mesh body and head are attached to the SL base avatar for seamless fitting. 

At the mainstore inworld you can purchase using 3 options. The head and body are sold separately. You can purchase the full avatar package if you choose. On the Mr. Poet Marketplace store you can purchase only the full mesh avatar.

FULL BODY LOOK

SKINS

For skins you can add any BOM compatible skin but be mindful that most will not fit the avatar due to other mesh bodies using their own UV map and not the SL UV Map. How I achieved the look above was by using the AEROS MALE SKINS. They are a bit old in terms of age but they are almost perfect in terms of matching the mesh body UV map. Please try a demo if you want to use AEROS male skins. Only certain ones look good for BOM purposes. If you want to use Stray Dog or Not Found body skins please use BODY DOC male skin enhancement overlays to make it more natural (see image below for example).

NAILS

The Sigurd Male mesh body does not come with nails your skin will have to fit onto the hand as much as possible for nails to appear or wait until a creator is able to create a skin for it or make mesh nail attachments to the body.

SYSTEM IMPACT

The Sigurd mesh body is very low poly for a mesh body with high detail. It is less than 20,000 triangles making it have less impact thus less lag. 

HUD

This is an overview of the HUDs that come with he mesh body. This comes with the purchase of the FULL avatar pack. There are options to enhance your look including vitiligo options, oiled options, facial hair and body hair options, etc. The are layers that are placed over the mesh body on both the BOM and applier versions of the mesh bodies and heads. You cat tint any option as well. The HUD is very responsive and quick although there can be lag at times due to some scripting errors. Also the HUD does not flip out of the view screen when closed so you may need to detach the HUD if you want to interact with SL or you’ll end up clicking on the HUD constantly. 

CLOTHING

Swimwear comes with the purchase of the mesh body but their are no clothing options made specifically for the body at this time of publication. You can though use some NOCHE clothing but this body is a bit thinner than most so clothing has to really be made for it.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This mesh body is more for those who want to have a thinner more defined male look. Those who like the anime/manga male look would like this body. It is very well made has room for improvement. Seams do appear at high altitudes on SL (Skyboxes) but overall I have not experienced any significant detrimental issues with the body. As always please TRY A DEMO before purchase. This body/head may not be for everyone but I think its a great option to have especially with the limited options men have on SL regarding mesh attachments!
