2021 HONDA MSX125 GROM

Ook de MSX ontkwam niet aan een update om aan de Euro5 norm te voldoen. Honda heeft dit aangegrepen om de kleinste motor nog cooler en stoerder te maken, en krijgt door het accentueren van de bevestigingsbouten zelfs een retro-look. De motor is nu voorzien van eenvoudig te verwijderen kappen. Dit vergemakkelijkt het personaliseren van de Grom. Iets wat in het buitenland al jaren populair is en in Nederland ook langzaam aan het opkomen is.

Belangrijkste verandering zit misschien wel in de versnellingsbak: er is een 5e versnelling toegevoegd. Dit zorgt natuurlijk voor een rustiger toerenverloop en minder trillingen, de prestaties verbeteren ook iets. Andere vernieuwingen zitten in het nieuwe LCD-dashboard met versnellingsindicator, een nieuwe LED-koplamp, een nieuw subframe en een ander zadel. Uiterlijk is de motor klein en weegt net aan 100kg, heeft een 6 liter tank maar kan daar toch bijna 400 kilometer ver mee komen! 1 op 65 zou haalbaar moeten zijn aldus Honda. De Honda MSX125 wordt gezien als de moderne opvolger van de iconische Monkey, en is zeker niet onsuccesvol: er zijn sinds 2013 al meer dan 750.000 exemplaren verkocht.

Since having the #HondaGrom I've seen a few of them have the incorrect battery, which means the battery tie down doesn't get used anymore due to the battery being too big. Made a quick battery tie down for the TX5L battery on a SF Grom to keep it from shaking and possibly grounding the positive wire. There's not a whole lot out there in the 3D Printing world for Honda Grom parts. Hopefully, I'll be able to make some more.
