Also, another ANOTHER fun thing about PPAU is it lets me fulfill my desperate need for fanon content of Pharma, Ratchet, and Drift behaving like adults and actually having cordial relationships/friendships despite the awkward love triangle that happened. Like. Pharma stays friends with Ratchet and nurses his broken heart in private. Ratchet is supportive of Pharma in his pursuit of new hobbies and making friends (and eventually a romantic relationship). Pharma and Drift make polite conversation and in some situations even offer each other advice over small issues in life.

God I just really really really want more content of them being Normal Fucking People man. If anyone is interested in a true crime book set during the early colonial period of North America, I highly recommend Terror to the Wicked: America’s First Trail by Jury that Ended A War and Helped Form a Nation by Tobey Pearl.

Not only does it tale an engaging narrative of the Native American Nipmuc man killed by white indentured servants on the run from their master, but also provides a thorough account of the geopolitical backdrop on which this drama is set. I learned a TON about the various Algonquin tribes that once ruled along the northeastern coast and the cultural milieu that existed in the colonies themselves: eird Puritan edicts, the fraught status of indentured servitude and singleness in the colonial settings, the various conflicts & alliances that shaped Native Americans conflicts with encroaching white settlement and among the various tribes.

elphaba foi julgada desde o seu nascimento, afinal nenhum pai iria querer um bebê verde para início de conversa. melena e frexspar lidaram com o fato do melhor jeito que conseguiram: ignorando, e claro, dando mais atenção aos seus outros filhos. melena se culpou por aquilo, afinal havia tendo um caso com o mágico de oz antes de engravidar. mesmo com a culpa, nunca revelou este segredo ao marido. apenas tentou aceitar elphaba, como se fosse sua punição divina.

elphaba e sua irmã frequentaram a mesma universidade. elphaba queria se tornar uma grande bruxa e admirava o mágico de oz por ser um ótimo governante. ela odiava sua colega de quarto, glinda, por ser, bem... muito diferente dela. e glinda não ficava atrás por nunca fazer nada quando elphaba era humilhada por seus colegas. no entanto, acabaram se tornando amigas por causa de uma boa ação de glinda para com nessarose, irmã de elphaba que era paraplégica.

no entanto, ocorreu um burburinho sobre o governo de oz estar começando uma campanha contra os animais sencientes (animais que se comportam e falam como humanos), isso acabou deixando elphaba inconformada e assim ela convenceu glinda, sua amiga, a acompanhá-la até a cidade das esmeraldas para confrontarem o mágico de oz a respeito do assunto.

o mágico não compadeceu da rebeldia de elphaba de acabar com o preconceito e ódio a respeito dos animais sencientes, ao invés disso o mágico induziu elphaba a realizar um feitiço em que fez crescer asas em um macaco, mesmo percebendo a tamanha dor que o pobre animal estava sentindo. elphaba soube bem ali que aquilo não estava certo e fugiu sozinha quando glinda não quis acompanhá-la.

por anos elphaba ficou escondida, enquanto ajudava os animais sencientes sem ser notada pela guarda de oz. mas no dia do casamento de glinda e fiyero (quem sempre foi apaixonado por elphaba desde a universidade), elphaba finalmente apareceu e fiyero acabou fugindo com ela. glinda cheia de ódio contou ao mágico que a única forma de capturar elphaba seria fazendo algo contra sua irmã, nessarose. e assim aconteceu. o ciclone, controlado pelo mágico, que levou a casa de dorothy até oz a fez cair no exato lugar onde nessarose estava, a matando. e então, quando elphaba chegou já era tarde demais. descobriu que glinda tinha dado os sapatos de nessarose para dorothy e estava verdadeiramente furiosa... até que os guardas apareceram para levá-la. no entanto, fiyero apareceu ameçando a vida de glinda para forçar os guardas a soltarem elphaba, mas na confusão fiyero acabou sendo morto pelos guardas e elphaba conseguiu fugir mais uma vez.

elphaba foi atrás do mágico e o transformou em um homem de lata sem coração. e então sem saber do paradeiro de fiyero começou a proclamar um feitiço para que não importa o que acontecesse ele não morresse e vivesse para sempre. e então, prometeu a si mesma que jamais faria uma boa ação porque apesar de ter tentado ser uma boa pessoa sua vida inteira sempre foi punida. achando que seu feitiço tinha dado errado, elphaba sequestrou dorothy por ter roubado os sapatos da sua irmã e foi quando glinda a encontrou, tentando coagí-la a fugir e libertar dorothy. no entanto, elphaba já tinha se tornado quem todos a julgavam ser: a bruxa má do oeste. então, no meio da confusão o vestido de elphaba começou a pegar fogo e para ajudá-la dorothy jogou água na bruxa, mas isso fez com que ela derretesse e morresse.

toda oz festejou a morte da bruxa má do oeste, mas o derretimento de elphaba tinha sido apenas um truque que ela tinha na manga para conseguir fugir novamente. ela acabou encontrando fiyero que tinha se transformado em um espantalho, e como se sentiu culpada pelo feitiço ter dado errado prometeu a ele que viveria tentando ajudá-lo a voltar a sua verdadeira forma.

era uma vez a filha da bruxa má do oeste e do espantalho sem cérebro...

Letargia sempre soube que ela era mais afortunada que os outros. Seus pais sofreram muito para lhe dar a vida que ela tinha agora. Principalmente a sua mãe. No momento em que nasceu, seus pais tinham sido dados como mortos porque se pusessem seus pés em Oz, provavelmente aquilo iria se concretizar. E o que seria dela? Letargia não conseguia nem pensar na possibilidade. Foi por isso que Elphaba deu apenas seu sobrenome à filha, seria menos chamativo. A bebezinha foi deixada na porta dos Thropp com o seguinte bilhete de que era de uma das filhas mortas deles, Nessarose, é claro. Frexspar e Melena ficaram aliviados e acreditaram que aquela bebê era de sua falecida e amada filha, afinal ela não tinha pele verde.

Por dois anos e um mês, Letargia foi criada pelos avós até que seus pais acharam seguro voltar para buscá-la. Os vilões tinham vencido a guerra e agora tudo seria diferente. A filha de Elphaba e Fiyero não precisaria sofrer o que a própria mãe sofreu durante toda a sua vida, ela teria uma vida longa e feliz. Afinal, ela era filha de uma vilã. Letargia Thropp cresceu sabendo que era muito amada pelos pais e principalmente que nenhuma boa ação fica impune. No entanto, mesmo tendo uma infância perfeita, não significa que sua vida era um mar de rosas. Ter tido uma vida difícil no passado transformou Elphaba em uma mãe rígida e superprotetora. Todas as vezes que Letargia discutia com a mãe, era a mesma resposta: “tudo o que faço é porque só quero o seu bem”, o que queria dizer: “não quero que sofra como eu sofri”. Mas não fazia Letargia se sentir menos sufocada. Fiyero entendia o sentimento da filha de querer ter mais liberdade de escolha, mas também entendia porque sua esposa se sentia na necessidade de protegê-la, então apenas tentava mediar os conflitos. 

Foi aos seus onze anos que Elphaba contou à filha toda a história de sua vida. Letargia, é claro, tinha feito algo que ocasionou a revelação repentina. Ao pensar o quanto queria um cachorro, e Elphaba negou o pedido durante toda a semana que a filha pediu, Letargia acabou transformando o baú onde guardava suas roupas em um cachorrinho. A menina pensou que a mãe ficaria no mínimo furiosa com aquele feito, no entanto era “hora da história”. Tinha sido apenas quando sua mãe pediu algo que Letargia entendeu do que tudo se tratava, ou pelo menos tanto quanto uma menina de onze anos poderia entender. Elphaba queria que a filha ajudasse a transformar Fyiero de volta em sua forma humana. O que começou com Elphaba com brilho nos olhos, terminou com a bruxa desconfiada da capacidade da filha. Afinal, se passaram anos e, tanto mãe quanto filha não obtiveram sucesso. A decepção no olhar de Elphaba era visível para Letargia, a menina sentia como se alguém estivesse arrancando seu coração do peito apenas para esfaqueá-lo de novo e de novo e só depois colocar de volta no lugar. Claro, que ela não sabia como era essa sensação, mas imaginava que deveria doer muito.

A Academia era a última fagulha de esperança de Elphaba. E Letargia queria que o pai voltasse a ser humano também, mas tinha um sentimento dentro dela que era mais forte que isso: o de deixar sua mãe orgulhosa pelo menos uma vez na vida. Letargia queria ver os olhos da mãe brilhando de novo, e ela queria ser o motivo. Talvez fosse algo egoísta e malvado de se pensar, até mesmo para ela. Mas estava tudo bem se nunca dissesse isso em voz alta para a mãe.

Hi! I’m looking for a musical theatre duet for two women that is suitable for sisters who have a similar range (E3-G5)… but not from Wicked! Any ideas?

I've definitely got you! Some of these are more evenly split in terms of the amount of singing, but a couple have more for one or the other. They are all similar ranges and lots of them are characters who are written as actual sisters (or sisters-in-law).

Flight by Craig Carnelia isn't from a show, but it's still an MT duet (Sutton Foster and Megan McGinnis have a beautiful recording of the duet version)
