Protocol is actually just us Magnus Archives fans rapidly descending into s2-Jon-levels of paranoia. Granted, just like s2 Jon, we have reason to be paranoid, but it's still hilarious to see us all collectively scaling the walls of our enclosure while frothing at the mouth over our theories.
Jonny and Alex are playing us like a cheap harmonica and I'm so here for it

before i go to sleep need to talk about how insane the viktor as the mage that saved jayce as a child reveal was. at first i didn't really like it but it only makes sense. the mage was a perfect, benevolent, idealized version of the arcane. jayce spent his Whole damn life striving towards that mage, trying to recreate his talents and recreate his gift because he was so grateful for everything he did for him. and his whole dream for this began to revolve around viktor. his dream of hextech, his dream of magic. because it was always about viktor. because in the end he didn't want to give magic to the people, he just wanted his partner back. it was never about the arcane, not really. it was just about viktor. it was affection keeping them together. not to mention how viktor strays so drastically from this beautiful and altruistic version of magic as he gets obsessed with perfection and corrupted by the hexcore, and jayce is literally the only thing in any universe that can remind him what they were fighting for, not by bringing up anything to do with the arcane at all, but by talking about viktor himself; how he's beautiful, how he's perfect. by giving him back the stone that started his whole journey, and letting it end their journey together. like an exchanging of vows. because it was always about viktor. and the hextech doesn't matter as long as he has viktor, his motivation and energy and literal source of life for as long as he can remember. they saved each other's lives, more than once. to jayce, viktor is perfect and has always been perfect and always will be perfect. because they're literally soulmates i need to sit down

Fanfic writers, I love and adore you, you are doing the lord’s work, and you make my life better. I have but one small request:
When you are writing a scene where your characters are about to have sex for the first time, and they exchange information about their respective STI statuses…please consider not using “clean” to mean “negative.” When you refer to having no STIs as being “clean,” you are implying that having an STI makes someone “dirty.” That’s really stigmatizing and also simply not true. Having a sexually-transmitted infection doesn’t make you any “dirtier” than having any other type of infection. When you test negative for covid, you don’t say “I’m clean” (at least, I’ve never heard anyone say it that way). And though I’m sure people having been using this terminology for far longer, I cannot help but think of the way folks with HIV/AIDS were treated in the 80s — even medical professionals acted as if they were unclean, untouchable. It makes me wince when I read “clean” in this context. “Negative” (though it sounds, well…negative) is a value-neutral term, it’s exactly what you’ll see on your test results.
In conclusion, especially if you’re writing about queer men, consider saying “negative” instead of “clean” and help reduce sexual stigma.

✨🍸 Day 1: Everyday
Drew this for Scollace Week 2023 over on Twitter!! Thought I should share here as well. I like to think Scott and Wallace watch a lot of movies together. That's where they have some of their most in-depth conversations.

Do we think Eris could withstand the Ouroboros? Look into the mirror and see the truth of who he is? Eris seems to be more honest with himself than most. He doesn’t make excuses or justify himself; he knows what he is.
Then again…Eris strikes me as someone who is very emotionally compartmentalized, very repressed. He doesn’t have time to interrogate the morality of his actions. Not much time, anyway, but of course sometimes he wonders...
There is no doubt in my mind that Eris has done some truly horrible things. For his mother, for Lucien. He’s spent over five centuries descending further and further into darkness in pursuit of his father’s destruction.
What if he looked, and it confirmed all the fears he pushes to the back of his mind and pretends he doesn’t have?
That there may be less of his father in him than he feared but far, far more of him than he hoped?

Cursed dragon Kaiser who rarely presents as human and snatches you away like the trinket and treasure hoarder he is. You, his newest treasure, one that isn’t cold and lifeless like the golden hoards in his sanctuary. The first and only human sacrifice he keeps. His pet, his dearly beloved, his prized possession

creature design chain of woe returns but for no particular reason. my wrist hurts i guess
anyway centaurs. but theyre a cordyceps-like fungus that infects horses, ultimately resulting in this somewhat humanoid upper body like fungal structure. they spread spores by running long distances to up chances of infection, seems like it has trouble taking root or getting to a fully "blossomed" state.
Their fearless behavior has earned them their warrior association, but some folks swear up and down theyve seen these guys use tools, and stories like that are cropping up more and more, and their somewhat human faces get better and better. Maybe these guys are smarter than theyre given credit for?

Absolutely fascinating Gaslight District realization I just had that I don't think either of Ken's kids are biologically related to him
Breadhead is a literal yeast golem and all signs point to Melancholy having been born from an angel egg and then Ken kidnapping her and making her his daughter, likely in an effort to protect her (the newspaper clipping from the trailer saying that humans born from angel eggs are to be hunted down without mercy).
Which means that if Mel really does go ahead and kidnap an angel egg, there's full chance that whatever's in there will just end up becoming her and Breadhead's little sibling
