Here’s some raw footage of yours truly working on a guitar track- in collaboration with my ig guitar buddy, awesome harmonica player @dannygarrettharmonica ...the tune will remain unnamed as of now- though you are welcome to guess what it is! It’s a very old folk tune, covered by tons of artists- in all genres. In this clip I’m playing in CGDGBD capoed up a half step- but after doing a bunch of takes last night I’ve decided to retune to open C#. The mule is a finicky and stubborn beast, and you can hear...he did NOT like being in this tuning. Oh well- I got some good ideas from this. This version is different though...I’m using a “D6” tuning, which is kinda blowing my mind. Since I decided to get more into slide, I’ve stayed away from too many tunings, because it starts getting really confusing to me. But this one, this moment...bam! It’s talking to me. Guitar lesson time! Here’s a real quick open string scale concept in open D (actually open F...cuz I’m capoed at the 3rd fret 😏). I had to break this up into 2 videos. I posted a little thing I came up with the other evening, and folks seemed to enjoy it- so I thought I’d break it down and give it to the universe. “All People”- my tune. This is the guitar pattern to the outro part- I shared the full arrangement the other day. This thing is tricky to sing and play! Practice makes progress. And yes, I believe that all people have the right to live dignity and peace. At the core of it, politics, philosophies, religions, are just concepts. If ultimately they aren’t serving folks, and folks are suffering, we can argue and argue...but the suffering is the ultimate truth- which can either be ignored and subverted, or dealt with and healed. But- this is a lot easier to talk about then do.
