A Character Sheet for Auri (A Moomin Valley OC) Originally I was asked by friends to create a persona for myself for the series, but over time the character evolved away from being 'my' persona and became sort of it's own character. And I'm totally fine with that. the design is pretty simple after all. Some Trivia:

Auri's story takes place some years later in the future when Moomin and the gang are older and well into adulthood, setting out into the world for their own adventures.

Auri grew up mostly alone along the outskirts of a small town at the edge of the woods, where mumriks are not we liked

Auri has 2 younger siblings, twin sisters, that he never sees because they live in that same town that Auri grew up near (and doesn't care to revisit)

Auri has several scars along their arms, legs and a large scar across their side from a nasty run in with poachers in the woods

Auri enjoys the company of others for short duration and often seeks out his various friends he's made during their travels

After one particularly tragic run in with some poachers that left Auri injured, friendless and traumatized, Auri settles down (for the most part) into a comfortable life in a small cottage just on the other side of the mountains of Moomin Valley. They spend most of the year at the cottage, sprucing it up, working in their garden, raising animals and generally living however they please. There is always a spare room free for weary travelers and friends who come to visit (even when he's not around to welcome them)

Auri still feels the pull to wander however and often disappears for periods of time to explore the woods or venture off into Moomin Valley to visit old friends

Auri knows how to read, write and one of his favorite hobbies is to trade books with travelers to read new adventure stories (he's fond of telling wild stories as well. This is, in fact, how they meet Snufkin during one of their travels before discovering Moomin Valley)

Auri can't play an instrument to save his life but they envy those who can and often tries to learn when the opportunity comes up (they always quit before they get very far)

Meet the product of my most recent university related breakdown, Berry Drops (I can't believe I made a moominsona). She is the daughter of a water nymph and a mumrik.

Berry is a pond dancer. She likes ballet, plants, herbal tea, insects, cake and many other things. She loves plants!! Her favourite flower is columbines. Berry enjoys the smell of pine trees, lavender and rain.

She is a die hard fan of Tchaikovsky, a hemulen from the north who is a musical genius.

She has a lily pad and flower on her head and pieces of seaweed (pondweed?) mixed with her hair, which is dark and just below shoulder length. She wears a white dress with poet sleeves and star-shaped cuffs, with two red heart-shaped pockets on the front (she usually fills them with herbs), and a white ruffle at the bottom of the dress with bluebell plants forming hearts. She usually wears dance shoes (pointe).

Berry enjoys helping Mr.Hemulen with the plants and baking with Moominmamma, and though she likes the children, she doesn't spend much time with them.

☆Hey, I have Moomins OCs!☆

My first encounter with the Moomin universe didn't go very smoothly. The very first cartoon I saw was a Soviet puppet cartoon. And I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was extremely scared then! The cartoon was intimidating, obscure, mysterious. And with such a visual, it's not surprising!

I think I saw a series about a comet then. And I was extremely frightened by this atmosphere of the fact that something terrible and unknown is about to happen, with this music and some kind of echo in the voices of the characters. Since then, I vowed not to watch anything related to the Moomins, for fear of repeating that unpleasant feeling. However, then I met my beloved Jessie! She was familiar with the old cartoon in 2D graphics, which is considered a classic. I myself became interested, and, having nothing to do, since I was in the hospital at that time, I asked my cousin to bring me her book about Moomin. It was a collection of original translated and adapted stories that were quite interesting to read! And while I will always have this feeling of mysterious pressure deep down in my soul, I found this world extremely pleasant, as well as the animated series that I looked at later.

Sniff is my favorite character. I like his design and cautious nature, I think he is a nice guy! However, I didn't see any more Sniff-like creatures, so I decided to create my own! This is Scrap. He doesn't have the most pleasant personality. Rough, harmful, but with a soft and even sweet soul.

Meanwhile, my girlfriend came up with a little mumrik girl Yuta. She is the brightest, bravest and sometimes brazenest girl you can meet! She quickly became the focus of the forest she settled in, and was even able to befriend Scrap.

I also came up with other characters in this wonderful world. The Doctor is a rather strict and serious Moomin. He lives in the distance, leading a reclusive life. He likes peace and quiet, and therefore the sudden appearance of Yuta became a bright flash of fireworks! At first, he drove her away and grumbled, but, realizing that she was alone at such a young age, he took her in. The third character was Yuta's uncle, Juxafi. A fun-loving and playful adventurer, an easy-going sailor who brings his niece a bunch of gifts every time he sails by. Mumrik would like to take his niece with him, but Moomin Doc prevents this, saying that she is too young, and this klutz cannot take care of her. And finally...

I don't know why, but out of all of them, he's become my favorite. Cold and unsociable, he is the complete opposite of his brother and even his daughter. He prefers to spend time alone, enjoying the beauty of nature and the singing of birds. Jakar's legs are pulling him into uncharted paths because he can't just sit still. He is a wanderer who sometimes likes to return to familiar places. Who knows what is on the mind of this taciturn and mysterious mumrik? He can't stop, even for his own daughter.
