It may be a far stretch, but I found something interesting regarding a Japanese swordsman and how some Inazuma names might allude to it.
The Japanese swordsman Itou Ittousai (伊藤 一刀斎) was originally called Yagorou (弥五郎).
https://kotobank.jp/word/伊藤一刀斎-31666
He had a swordsmanship technique that was one swift stroke against the attacker. He later named it the Musouken (夢想剣). It was an attack that was delivered spontaneously.
https://kotobank.jp/word/夢想剣-1425131
Gorou’s name (五郎) shares the same kanji and reading as the last two characters in Yagorou (弥五郎). Ya written as 矢 can also mean “arrow”. Is that why Gorou is a bow user…? This might be a coincidence haha
Itto is crossed out because Itto (一斗), Ittou (一刀), and Ito (伊藤) are in fact separate kanji despite the similar pronounciations …
But, what drew my attention initially!
The first two characters in Musouken (夢想剣) shares the same reading and kanji as Raiden Shogun/Ei’s sword technique Mousou no Hito-tachi (夢想の一太刀).
Musou (夢想) here means “dream”. As well, the Musouken is one swift stroke, and Hito-tachi (一太刀) also means “one slash”.
(Musou no Hito-tachi written as 無想の一太刀 has a different meaning. 無想 means “blank mind”.)

Musou No Hito-tachi: Divine Punishment (5/?)
Tumblr media
“It is time for divine retribution.”
The sky roared with deafening thunder above, inching closer by the second.. A faint buzzing with a burning smell creeped into the surrounding air unnoticed, as furious winds whipped around.
The Shogun’s blade crackled mid-air before the archon swiftly brought down her weapon of punishment.
The air suddenly stood still around her.
 Then there was light.
Bright violet light.
And an ear-splitting crack.
Some screamed, others jumping in fright. But everyone watching was forced to physically turn away to shield their eyes, if not from the light then from the debris of stone and soil that was the aftermath.
Amidst all the chaos, the Shogun seemed unaffected by the lightning that had missed her by an inch. But her eyes told otherwise, confusion filling them. And when she looked to the spot before her, a glint of surprise passed in the archon’s eyes.
Not a second later, the archon disappeared with a flash of light, similar to the color of the lightning strike moments before- but this time with a darker violet tinge.
The soldiers marched away as well, following their master’s exit.
Whispers and murmurs sounded throughout the crowd at what they had just witnessed. But even they too soon dispersed, returning to the comfort of their own homes- out of the pouring rain.
In the pavilion, now only two remained.
Thoma and Ayaka stood standing in the deafening silence- in the unrelenting rain.
___________________
Silence rang throughout the Kamisato residence the next day. A sound that had not been heard since the death of the previous clan heads.
The siblings kept to their rooms. Mourning the loss of a loved one was not foreign, but was not to be welcomed either.
Thoma stayed retreated in his room as well.
He sat numbly on the floor, still in his drenched clothes from the previous night. A small trail of water led from the door to where he was. He had yet to move- not to his closet for a change of clothes, not to his bed to sleep, not to the kitchens for food.
How could he? You were dead.
There wasn’t even a body for them to bury. You were just gone. No warning. No goodbye. Just gone.
Within the silence ringing in his ears, he could only replay the final words you had left him with.
“I’ll be okay.”
“I’ll be okay.”
“I’ll be okay.”
You had smiled. Even in the final moment as you faced your end- you had smiled. All that was left of you were those three words- three words said for him not to worry. That you had accepted your fate.
He clenched his fists in frustration at the questions arising. Why had you challenged the Shogun to a duel before the throne? Why had you been there in the first place?
He should have done something to it. Stop you.
Was this why you had confessed your feelings the night before? Had you known what was going to happen beforehand?
With his mind so scattered, he hadn’t realized something was happening outside until the voices had elevated to shouting.
“Let me go!”
Thoma furrowed his brows.
Kujou Sara?
“Do not touch me!”
With haste, Thoma fumbled towards the door- legs still weak. Stepping outside, he saw a few Kujou clan soldiers holding back an enraged General Kujou Sara from the entrance to the residence. The commotion had managed to bring Ayato and Ayaka out as well, already standing outside before them with looks of confusion.
The Commissioner observed the general quietly, finally addressing her once she started to become physical with the soldiers.
“Kujou Sara, to what do we owe the pleasure?” Ayato called out to her. “You well know, we are in the middle of mourning the loss of a family member.” His voice was seemly neutral despite all that had happened, yet the second sentence gave a subtle warning to her overstepping.
“Family?” the general hissed. “You don’t deserve to call her family.”
Amidst the pouring rain, she continued to struggle against her soldiers’ hold.
“Kujou Sara, I advise you to choose your words carefully.” Ayato warned. “If I’m not mistaken, the Kujou clan was in charge of the ceremony and everyone involved.”
Kujou Sara laughed maniacally at him. “Are you blaming me for her death, Commissioner?” she spat out his official title with venom. “You say she was family and you couldn’t even protect her. You’re nothing but a coward!”
The general’s eyes narrowed at Thoma.
“And you!” she spat at him. “She did this because of you!”
Thoma’s heart dropped at her words, dread filling him.
“What do you mea-”
“You were the one the Shogun chose for the ceremony. You were the one who was supposed to be there, not her!” she shouted. Her tears could have mistaken for rain drops. “I-I should have stopped her. I should have...” She dropped to the ground in anguish. “It’s my fault. I let her take your place. I let her be in the ceremony.”
The little strength Thoma had left him, falling to the ground. Everyone was silent, trying to process all that was revealed.
“I was supposed to be in the ceremony.” Thoma repeated, eyes shaking. “She took my place.” He let out a laugh and his masters watched him with concern. “Of course she did. She- she did this to protect me.” He closed his eyes in defeat.
You had hoped he and Ayaka would be happy together, when you knew your affections could not be returned.
You had spent a whole day in the kitchen once, trying to recreate Mondstadt dishes he had once described to you after overhearing him being homesick. You had gifted him with a pair of stud earrings made from agnidus agate gemstone for his birthday, a rare mineral he knew you would have needed to save up money for.
You had done all those things thinking of him.
And now you were gone.
“I could say the same to you, General. Are you-,” Ayato paused with a sad realization, correcting himself. “-were you not one of (Y/N)’s closest companions? You knew of her death in the ceremony and did nothing? Even if you could not have done anything, given your position, we could have with prior  knowledge.” He spoke formally and poised, but Thoma could see his lord’s hands were clenched in silent fury.
“I didn’t know.” Sara cried out weakly. “She was only supposed to have her vision taken away. That was the plan that was approved by the Shogun. I wouldn’t have allowed her an audience with the Shogun if I knew there was going to be a duel before the throne.”
“The duel was not planned by the Kujou clan?” Thoma suddenly asked.
Ayato’s eyes widened slightly, realizing something was amiss. He whispered to the servant beside him, who quickly nodded before leaving the scene.
“No, I was the one to approve the final details of the ceremony before informing the Shogun. Any changes would have to go through me. But, the only person who wouldn’t need my permission would be-”
Ayato cut her off quickly. “General, you must be cold from standing in the rain this long. Ayaka, would you please show the general to your room to change into dry clothes? Both of you can join me for tea afterwards.” Everyone stared at the Commissioner with confusion at the sudden change in subject. “And Thoma, lead the Kujou clan soldiers inside for a change of clothes as well. Come join us once you’re done.”
Ayaka stared at her smiling brother curious what he was planning. But she trusted her brother as did Thoma, who knew there was a reason for his master’s sudden desire for tea time. The two followed his orders, disappearing inside the building with their respective parties in tow.
It was now only Ayato who was standing outside. He listened for a second, hearing the patter of rain falling on the roof above him. He turned around but made no move to walk forward inside. Instead, he started talking.
“Find out Kujou Takayuki’s schedule the day before the ceremony. Continue to keep an eye on the Fatui as well.”
“Yes, Commissioner.” A voice spoke from above, unseen.
And with that, Ayato proceeded inside to join the others.

(Somewhere in Liyue)
“Is she dead? Do you think she got hit by the lightning during that crazy storm?”
“These injuries weren’t just caused by lightning. We need to take her to Baizhu, it looks like she lost a lot of blood already.”
“But what if she’s already...you know?”
"She’s breathing so she’s not- quit poking her with a stick, Paimon!”

Sakura Taisen Song Box
Released: April 15, 2009 (digital only)
Available at iTunes
This is like a mashup of 2003′s “Complete Song Box” and 2006′s “Zenkyokushuu,” only with a lot less content: it’s got 120 songs, while the aforementioned collections had 139 and 122, respectively. For the price, though, it’s still a good deal for people who just want a lot of Sakura Taisen songs, not necessarily all of them.
Songs with a “—” instead of a number are songs that were part of the physical collections but that are not included in the digital version

Musou No Hito-tachi: Divine Punishment (4/?)
Tumblr media
They say your life flashes before your eyes the moment just before you die. It’s like watching a movie about yourself in a theater, experiencing all the memories up till that moment for one last time. And the final ending scene is the memory that made you the happiest in your life; one that would make all the pain and everything else disappear every time you thought back to it.
______________________________________________________________
The dark sky roared with thunder as heavy rain fell upon the city of Inazuma. The only sources of light apart from the few lanterns scattered about the walkways, was the brief flashes of violet lightning.
“Ayaka, slow down!” Thoma shouted through the rain.
The Kamisato seemed to not have heard him, continuing to rush run down the pavement pathway to where the crowd was gathered for the ceremony.
The harsh winds were threatening to blow away the umbrella in his hand as other loose objects flew past him. It was a lost cause though, his clothes already starting to become drenched even with the help of the umbrella.
Truth was, Thoma hadn’t planned on attending the ceremony at all- even without Ayato asking everyone in the clan to stay home for safety. And he hadn’t thought anyone else would try to go with the sudden shift in the weather as well. Only to be wrong when he spotted Ayaka trying to sneak out of the residence in the middle of the storm.
Being tasked as the head handler of the Kamisato siblings, along with the fact that he was unsuccessful in trying to convince Ayaka to stay home, he had no choice but to reluctantly follow the lady down to the ceremony site.
Feeling a chill from the wind mixed with his current state of clothes, he let out a sigh before picking up his pace to try and catch up with his companion.
Arriving at the crowd, he had to try and find Ayaka through the mass of people. He squinted through the crowd, his height aiding him heavily in being able to quickly spot a silver head of hair among those in the front.
When he reached Ayaka, he noticed her umbrella was strewn across the floor in front of her next to a broken polearm.
Paying no mind to the damaged weapon, he quickly moved his umbrella to cover the girl, now worried she would really catch a cold.
“You’re going to be the one to explain to Ayato why you’re sniffling and coughi-”
He paused in his sentence when he saw her fear-stricken expression. Her eyes remained still on the scene before them.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, turning his attention to the center of the site as well.
In the center stood the Shogun with a blade in her hand, another figure kneeled before her. The archon’s weapon glinted violet, mirroring the flashes of lightening as water dripped from the end of the blade.
It wasn’t until another bright flash of lightening struck that Thoma realized he had been wrong.
It wasn’t water.
It was blood.
The Shogun’s sword was dripping with blood.
His eyes quickly flitted to the other figure that had been kneeling, not being able to properly make out who they were with the person’s hair covering their face. They looked familiar, but he couldn’t figure out exactly who it was. But he now realized where the blood had come from when he noticed the person clutching their side with a hand soaked in blood as well.
He watched as the Shogun lifted her blade to the figure’s chin, forcing them to look up.
The conversation between the two figures were unable to be heard by the crowd, due to the thunder.
Another flash of lightening struck somewhere nearby, illuminating the horrific scene for a brief moment.
His eyes widened in horror as Ayaka gripped his arm tighter with a gasp.
“Thoma, is that (Y/N)?”
__________________________________
You felt the sudden coldness of a blade on your chin, tilting your face up to see the Shogun standing before you.
She cocked a brow at your state, before returning back to the stoic expression she usually carried.
“You have lost the duel.”
A sharp pain in your abdomen made you grunt in pain. There was a dull ringing in your ears, as you started to become a little dizzy from the loss of blood.
You weren’t even sure anymore whether it was water or blood drenching your clothes- probably a mix of both. And your hand left your wound at a certain point, giving up after realizing there was no point on trying to stop the bleeding.
You were going to die either way.
“Do you have any-” she asked before another voice cut through the rain.
“(Y/N)!”
Your head whipped to the sound of the voice, knowing who its owner was.
He wasn’t supposed to be here!
You saw guards rushing towards the source as well, holding back Thoma and Ayaka from stepping into the center where you were.
Why were they here? They weren’t supposed to see this!
“(Y/N), what’s going on? Why are you- why is the Shogun-”
The rest of his words were lost in the loud thundering of the clouds.
The Shogun looked away disinterestedly from the two continuing to struggle with the guards, turning her attention back to you.
“Do you have any regrets?” she asked you again, her voice almost a whisper through the heavy rain and blowing winds.
You were a bit taken aback by her sudden question, not expecting her to ask such a question.
Did you regret taking his place?
But you already knew the answer.
“No.” you replied weakly, with a shake of your head. “I don’t regret it.”
There was something in the Shogun’s eyes when she heard your response, but it could have been from the heavy blood loss on your end.
The electro archon gave a nod, before bringing her blade in front of her and holding it with both hands. Her weapon started to crackle with violet-colored lightening, both beautiful and dangerous at the same time.
The pain from your open wound became unbearable, gritting your teeth as you tried not to scream in pain. Realizing you didn’t have much time left, you looked back to the two desperately crying out your name.
A pained smile made its way to your lips when your eyes met theirs.
“(Y/N), no!”
“Run!”
“I’ll be okay.” you mouthed to them, knowing you didn’t have the strength to have your voice be heard.
You closed your eyes as the Shogun hands lifted her blade up slowly above you.
The wind and thunder drowned out the screams from the watching crowd.
“It is time for divine retribution.” ___________________________________________________
A scene played before you, one of the time you had hotpot with your friends before the Vision Hunt Decree. It was the last time you remembered, that you had been surrounded by the people you loved. Sara and Lady Ayaka having yet another civil, but heated argument about something. Master Ayato seated beside you observing the two with a grin while sneaking more meat onto your plate. Thoma urging you to try the new dipping sauces he had concocted. And Taroumaru pawing at your side to feed him another piece of meat.
You watched the scene with a smile, even after it ended and a bright light of violet filled your vision.

Musou No Hito-tachi: Divine Punishment (3/?)
Tumblr media
“What do you mean? I have permission from Kujou Sara to meet with the Shogun before the ceremony.”
“I’m sorry ma’am, but we were given instructions to not let you enter the archon’s quarters.”
“Who gave you these orders?” you asked, huffing at the adamant Kujou clan soldier.
“Master Kujou Takayuki.”
Of course.
It was no surprise the head of the Kujou Clan was behind this. He was always somehow involved in affairs that involved directly meeting with the electro archon. Since the beginning of the Vision Hunt Decree, every time Master Ayato or Lady Ayaka would schedule an approved meeting with the Shogun to discuss the repercussions of the decree, it was always cancelled at the last minute- from supposed direct orders from the archon herself given to the Kujuo Clan leader.
Not to mention, the old man had never liked you when Sara had introduced you to him as her friend.
You sighed in frustration. “I need to meet with the archon because of a change in the ceremony-“
The soldier didn’t let you finish your sentence.
“Master Takayuki ordered me to inform you the Shogun has been notified about the last minute changes made- all you need to do is make yourself present at the ceremony later.” the soldier stated stoically, still remaining in his guarding stance.
Something seemed off. Especially with the involvement of Takayuki. The old man always had an ulterior motive in mind when he got involved in something.
But what could he gain from you losing your vision? Why the need to go out of his way to inform the Shogun himself?
You tried wracking your brain with possible answers, but it was proven unsuccessful. Maybe he simply was just excited for you to lose your vision and felt the sadistic need to insert himself into the situation to feel like he did a part in it.
You considered asking the soldier if he had heard anything else, but decided against it. His loyalty lied with the old man as well, so he wouldn’t likely tell you anything useful.
Giving up for now, you sighed before nodding to the soldier for his “help” and retreating down the steps of the Shogun palace. The Shogun was informed that you would be taking Thoma’s place, so you had no other reason left to insist on meeting her.
Still, you couldn’t get rid of the uneasy feeling stirring inside of you. There was something you were missing, but what?
___
The Statue of the Omnipresent God looked more ominous than usual with it being the center of where the ceremony was taking place.
There was a lot of murmuring and whispering going around as people trickled into the crowd gathered near the lower part of the stage. Most sported similar looks of uneasiness, debating whether it was safe to be there or to run back home. Guards were stationed along the outer area of the stage, their attention glued to the figure in purple standing near the statue above the scaffolding.
Your eyes darted amongst the crowd every so often to make sure a certain blonde didn’t wander his way into the crowd without you knowing. But there was a bit of reassurance that the Kamisato head retainer wouldn’t be there due to Master Ayato advising the members of the clan to stay inside for the ceremony; not wanting to garner any unwanted attention from the Shogun herself.
As one of the soldiers held up his hand directing everyone’s attention to the Shogun, the crowd hushed to silence.
“I allowed for the Vision Hunt Decree to pass for one purpose, and one purpose only.” the electro archon spoke.
Although her back was turned to the crowd while she continued observing the statue embedded with stolen visions, her voice rang clear through the surrounding area.
“Eternity, which I have promised to you.”
With a motion of her hand, she signaled something to the head guard standing beside her. Receiving her wordless order, he then nodded to two soldiers closest to the crowd. The soldiers peered over the gathering of people, pushing past a few to find their intended target.
“I am well aware of those who are pushing for change in Inazuma.”  The Shogun finally turned around, eyes wandering through the people below until they landed on what seemed to be you. “ Questioning the idea of eternity- questioning my authority.”
You froze up at the weight of her stare, unknowing of the two soldiers approaching your direction.
“Change brings upon sacrifice.”
Hands suddenly seized your arms- a polearm pointed to your throat as a warning for resisting.
You were dragged forcefully out of the crowd and led into the center of the grounds; pushed down on your knees across from the Shogun’s line of view.
“Those who want change then, must also be willing to sacrifice in return.”
Sheer, purple steps appeared before the Shogun, each step lower than the one before until the final one was a step above the floor level to you. You watched as she effortlessly sauntered down each step- everyone around you, even the soldiers, gulping at the menacing aura she seemed to exude.
Once she stepped onto the floor, you noticed a blade in her hand that was not there before.
“Where is your weapon?” Her eyes squinted at your empty hands.
“Weapon?”
What was going on? Why was you having a weapon needed when only your vision was going to taken away?
With a sigh, the Shogun directed her gaze to soldier beside you, giving him a look. Within the next second, the polearm that had been pointed to your neck was now stuffed into your unoccupied hands. Then the soldier, along with the one that had been gripping your arms to the point of bruises, started to retreat backwards away from you.
The unsettling feeling in your stomach returned tenfold as you looked down to the weapon now lying in your hands. And it wasn’t until you looked up again at the Shogun readying the blade glinting in her hand, that it dawned on you.
A duel before the throne.
The penalty of losing this kind of duel was death. And to your knowledge, no one alive had won against the Shogun before.
This was why Takayuki had gotten involved.
The outcome of the duel was obvious. And with your death, it would send a clear message to the Kamisato clan to stop interfering with the Kujou clan’s decisions- more specifically Kujou Takayuki’s.
Your hands gripped the polearm tight in anger at the Kujou clan’s head. You didn’t think the old man would go to such lengths to remain in power.
But by the time gasps were heard from the crowd as they realized the situation and what they were about to witness, you had already made your decision.
You couldn’t run away, because it would mean Thoma would most likely take your spot. And there was a slim chance that the Shogun would be content with just taking his pyro vision away like before.
So you did the only thing you could do.
With a deep breath, you stood up to face the Shogun.
