simulacra 3 [take me back to eden]
[sundowning] [tpwbyt]
Sleep's mimic forms of the vessels during the time period of TMBTE, because i can't be normal and start a series from the beginning and not the end.
more info + design breakdowns under the cut:
[obligatory "when talking about the vessels, i'm talking about characters" disclaimer]
background info on the whole idea:
Sleep as a being is shapeless in my mind; more of a concept than a creature. it can manifest as sort of an absence of light in any shape to others, usually to appeal to feeling/emotion. the only "rule" for that is that whatever Sleep tries to appear as cannot look more or less innocent/powerful than Sleep actually is, which usually manifests in two things: the size being different from the thing/person it's imitating, scaled according to power, and/or added features, usually in some way threatening or regal.
one of Sleep's more consistent forms it takes throughout interacting with Vessel is mimicking him, partially to create an illusion of the two being more similar than they actually are and partially because Sleep used to exist as Vessel's shadow when they'd just met. the visual itself has changed through time (you can see what it was like during Sundowning in my Higher artwork), and during TMBTE that visual is pretty much the titular song's character with the most minor tweaks (which is why i didn't draw it separately).
all that made me think about the idea of Sleep mimicking the other vessels just to fuck with Vessel further (to be clear, i am a strong believer that Sleep only interacts with Vessel in any way). so now here are the designs of those mimics during the events of TMBTE, utilizing the album's song characters much like the Vessel mimic. because again, i have to start a series from the end, i guess.
"ii"/ii mimic (song character used: AYROK)
the main idea driving the design of "ii" is the real ii's goal to keep Vessel more or less safe by being by his side in worshipping Sleep, which is the reason he'd decided to become the second vessel in the first place. the choice of AYROK as the character to use in this design is obvious. one of the ideas that stem from that is ii's duty/desire to keep his face hidden for Vessel's sake; only his hands are visible & detailed because that's the only part of him Vessel remembers before either of them became vessels of Sleep and the only part ii has really shown after that. another is ii's timidity in telling Vessel to go against Sleep's will because he fears that no matter how bad it may be, it'll be much worse if Vessel doesn't follow it. that part comes through in the pose - shyly holding his hands together as if they're tied.
"iii"/iii mimic (song character used: Aqua Regia)
the song character inspo being Aqua Regia is mostly because of the calmer nature of the song and the dynamic duo it makes with Vore, less so the themes of the lyrics. also its visual design. iii mimic's design themes are iii's adoration/borderline obsession with Vessel (wearing Vessel's jewelry and having elements of his robe in his shirt + his own face/mask slowly melting off) and his enagement with worship as an act/aesthetic rather than something more serious (the overabundance of jewelry and accessories; the extra arms; the body language; the cuffs around his arms and legs being decorative and not actually restricting). also the rings on his fingers make a checkered pattern.
"iv"/iv mimic (song character used: Vore)
the use of Vore for "iv" is obvious too. song wouldn't be the same without his real life self. the design really just aims to combine iv with the Vore character, but there are two big things here. the simplest one is anger issues, which is why he's So Goddamn Spiky and why his jacket looks like scarred skin rather than painted & customized. the anger mostly shows up in the body language: most of the time "iv" just stares unblinkingly with pure palpable ire in the two glowing dots for eyes, and when he does move it's very stiff and snappy and barely controlled. the other thing is that, simply speaking, the real iv got into this whole mess without knowing the full extent of it and now he's in too deep and kinda losing himself. in the design it's expressed through the human features gradually turning into bug-like, such as the hoodie fading into a segmented millipede-like body and the fucked up mantis hands, and the gold of the original iv's mask melting over the face with the horns being part of it. the spikes protrude from him in a way that makes it difficult to distinguish between jacket decorations and actual parts of his body, but the spines are definitely from his body & allow me to live the dream of iv with a mohawk LMAO
anyway have fun with these go nuts i'll make similar sheets & posts for Sundowning and TPWBYT eventually

I drew. a lot for this. Also heads up for non RE mutuals this is going to be. confusing for you. I'm going to do my best to annotate and provide context but you are in for a wild ride.
Anyway long ass lore post for how Lisa and Robbie go from fighting to working together in this AU.
In the RE8 cannon all of the Dimitrescu daughters are made at the same time but for the sake of ✨the situations✨ I am going to change that. Lisa lived the longest as a human before being assimilated into the mold with a Cadou (infecting extension of the Megamycite). Technically her 'sisters' are older than her, as they were assimilated a while ago. Lisa has been a member of house Dimitrescu for about 2 years now. This puts her in this. Weird middle child zone. She wants to make her 'family' proud but she's also aware that what makes them proud isn't really the most achievable thing in the world (expecially with Bela to contend with. Older sibling overachiever to the maximum). She's got a certain degree of distance from them and sometimes wonders if she wasn't better off before all of this. Her memories are fuzzy but still there for the most part. She cant remember faces or names but she remembers feelings and situations. She doesen't remember families being like this (she wants OUT).
Chasing prey brought in is fairly standard for her. It's some of the only entertainment she gets. So when she catches Robbie exploring around the castle she has no idea that he's special in any way. He's just some new guy she gets to mess with before eating and DAMN he's FUN. If she didn't know any better she could almost think that he has experience being chased around (he does. he very much so does. all of RE7's worth). What she ALSO doesn't know is that Mother Miranda (big bad. Different from Lady Dimitrescu, who she refers to as 'mother') is planning on using Gabe (who is replacing baby Rose in this) to try and resurrect her dead kid with a 'perfect vessel' and this requires. uh. disassembly (in the base RE8 gameplay the reason Ethan goes to each house is because uhhhhhhhh his infant daughter has been dismembered and stored in jars and he needs to collect them so he can put her back together.... yeah). Robbie intervenes before this can get going and is instead going house to house because if he wants to get out of this stupid fuckass villiage he needs to collect the key components to unlock the gate keeping him in here (i need him to have a reason. to kill everyone. its important to me ok).

When Lisa finds out this random, but fun guy, she's been chasing who she thought was JUST SOME NORMAL GUY killed one of her sisters she mentally goes 'Oh. OH. THERES A CHANCE FOR ME TO GET OUT OF HERE'. That in conjunction with discovering Mother Miranda is planning on FULLY DISMEMBERING A CHILD she uh. Makes some decisions.
What you have to understand about her plans of matricide is that neither Lady Dimitrescu or her sisters can actually really fully die. Sure, their bodies are gone, but their consciousness is stored in the hive mind and they can reform later after gathering their strength. If she has to put her kinda shitty found family in time out for the sake of getting herself out of here + keeping her newly revived conscience clean she's absolutely going to do it.
(fuckin. backgrounds. dialogue. fuck. why can things not just take place inside of the void. DUKE MY BELOVED WE LOVE AND RESPECT DUKE IN THIS HOUSE HES A REAL ONE fuck now I got it in my head that he keeps trying to play matchmaker for them and i need to. go draw that because its too funny not to.)
Lisas plan involves this lab I had her mention in the comic above. It's where Robbie needs to go to synthesize more poison for the dagger of deaths flowers, and SUPPOSEDLY where a medicine that might allow her to go outside again might be (enemies of Lisas type become SIGNIFICANTLY weaker in the cold. She could try to bundle up but its still really not a good idea). She would love to go there herself, but it's in an area of the castle thats exposed to the cold of the outdoors.
The Two of them make a fairly decent team and Lisa finds herself having a LOT more fun hunting with someone else than she does on her own. They balance each other out pretty well; Robbie works primarily with guns so he can watch Lisas back while she's up close wrecking any grunts they run into. It's also pretty helpful having someone who can turn into a swarm of flies for puzzle solving purposes.
After all this Robbies trust for her increases SIGNIFICANTLY. He's still not really sure about her, but she's moved out of the 'active threat' classification into the 'kinda helpful' zone.

Lisa's plan has three ways it could go:
They all fail miserably and get sent to mental and physical time out in the megamycite.
They win and get to go free but either the medicine isn't there or it doesen't work. In which case she's just planning on getting as many coats as possible and Try-or-Die-ing it.
The medicine is there and she actually gets to roam free
Luckily for her, the medicine IS there, it DOES work, and Robbies sense of honor / noticing her usefulness (its hard to wage a one man war on an entire community of mutants ok you cant blame him for appreciating having some ACTUAL HELP for once) all align for the best possible scenario.

The cold does still affect her; her healing isn't as quick as it usually is and her increased strength / speed is a bit reduced, but she can go!! outside!!
She decided to stick with Robbie in getting out of the village as a whole. She doesen't really know what the world outside is like but anything has to be better than here (plus if she stays here she's probably getting shoved into the Megamycite by Mother Miranda PERMENANTLY and that just. wont do).
Also yes Lisa being with Robbie for the rest of his adventures means that she is there for Heisenbergs 'proposal'. She uh. Does not like that much.

this all made. more sense in my head I hope it at least makes a little sense out loud.

for the ask game, 12, 17, 19 and 20?
12. Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
I've answered a music lists ask before! (and really need to make proper playlists eventually lol), but only gave vague reasonings I'll add more to here.
-Anthea has more indie to kinda sad songs because despite giving off a playful vibe they're pretty melancholic behind the mask. A smile is a way they brush off how they're actually feeling, and from Crane Wives to Vocaloid I get that sort of vibe-happy or at least catchy songs that are actually sad when you pay attention between the lines. -Narinder's got progressive metal/rock since he's pretty depressed in my AU. He also has a bit of a bleeding heart where he loves fiercely only to get hurt which I've noticed is a trend in Sleep Token or sometimes Starset songs. -Aym and Baal got Nightcore and Vocaloid mostly because they're kids and back when I was like their age of 11-ish that's also what I was starting to get into. Aym is more edgy cause he's got a little bit of a temper, while Baal leans more happy since the kid's pretty positive.
17. Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?
Anthea I associate with the '13th Hour' since when I think of Crimson Angel's vessels, I place them on a clock face, with each one counting down to the final in the center. The last vessel, the last sheep, the last one to try and free Death, the 'Unlucky Thirteen'. But contrary to my usual character design you actually don't see that on Anthea, their base outfit is a little bit generic and I'm thinking of redesigning it for their post-bishop/reconciliation era to help differentiate their starting look from the end, I designed them prior to really realizing how big this'd get so Anthea needs a little updating. I do however lean into a slight renaissance era inspiration for the AU, since I associate that with both religion and 'memento mori' (remember death) via its paintings.
19. What is your general favorite thing about the character? What is your least favorite?
Hm...I guess one major thing is that Anthea's an adult? My other protagonist OC, Chrysa, is 16 with her main party allies being between 16.5-21, while Anthea's 26-29+. They're more mature and experienced in ways Chrysa isn't, they got wildly different backgrounds, Chrysa's shyer while Anthea's more extroverted, and yet they're similar in both being people struggling to find a reason to live and to understand that they gotta live for themselves. It's fun having another protagonist to work with who's a little more aware of their environment for a change, as opposed to a teenager trying to learn how to understand it. The least favorite though is their legs. I hate drawing the digitigrade legs and need to practice more, they're super hard to pose. T_T
20. Bonus question: share any additional thoughts, art, favorite scenes, anything you've been waiting for a chance to ramble about
Anthea has very much risen FAST in my favorite OCs list, to where I kinda wanna include their counterpart as a side-character in my OCs world with counterparts to Narinder and the twins. Not copy pasted, besides Anthea I would change their names and they'd all just be normal mortals, but since I've kinda made these 4 OCs in a way anyway why not bring them in. (Hey I'm building these characters up, might as well use them to replace some of the cardboard side-characters I've had doing nothing plot-relevant for years.)
It's obvious but Narinder is very much a simp for the lamb, like he started falling fast and HARD like a year and a half or so into Anthea's vesselship. Anthea's fall was slower but simmering in the background, and it was only after Narinder said he refused to leave the Gateway without them initially that they finally realized it.
And lastly I did NOT expect these characters or this AU to get this far, but I'm so, SO grateful it did. Post-graduating college it felt as if all my friends just vanished because we all got so busy, and while we try to chat and stuff I was getting really lonely, especially as I struggled to find work. Like I didn't really know what I was doing as the days bled together. Yet since joining, this fandom's let me meet so many wonderful, amazing people though, and I am extremely grateful for that.

AITA for not wanting to form an alliance with my rival, and for the way I treated him during the past?
(CW Death/Violence, inc to minors)
For background, I (19 X) used to attend a very prestigious school for magic-users and was among the best of their students. The only student ahead of me was C (21 M), and we were constantly fighting for our favorite teacher/mentor (Who I'll call E, M, 200s)'s attention. We were always really close in grades for the 8 years I attended (ages 6-14 for me), and though it was a seriously rivalry/we really didn't like each other (when I was younger I thought of him as a role model but he was really rude to me), we didn't wish each other harm or anything.
Anyways, when I was 14, the teachers chose the "best student" of the school for a ritual, which really stung me when I heard about it (I mean, I know he was technically the best student but he was also 2 years older than me and the difference between our grades REALLY wasn't that much at all, like less than 1%, so I had more potential IMO). So one night, E, C, and all the other teacher at the school set up this ritual while everyone else is asleep. They were trying to summon a god, M, (M, Immortal), and bind him to a vessel with a lot of magical potential. D During the ritual, something went wrong though. The whole school exploded, leaving most of the students injured or dead. It was the middle of the night, so it was really cold, too. All around it was just awful and that night haunts my nightmares. As I walked around the debris, trying to figure out what was going on, I found C. He wasn't hurt, though the teachers were all dead (drained of life) beside him.
I talked to him, and found out that in the ritual he had refused M, who, in trying to force C to become his vessel, had caused something of an arcane explosion, and left C partially fused with his spirit. C also admitted to having the teacher's souls and arcane abilities fused with his.
I was furious at him! He had caused all of these people to get hurt and die, and kept the power of the teachers for himself but he still denied the deity that had tried to grant them to him! If I had been chosen, I wouldn't have denied M, and none of this would have happened btw.
And anytime I tried to reason with C, he just looked back all emotionless, like he didn't care that he had just killed the man that had basically raised him. He just sat there, so I kicked him. It was just to get him to react, so I ended up kicking him a lot, but he still didn't react. I ended up just kicking him until I was too tired to do it again, and eventually wandered off to find someplace to recover, and maybe start a new life someday. A few years after the school was destroyed I ended up making a pact with M. In exchange for his powers, I would punish those who intended to misuse them.
Anyways, now I'm actually traveling with a party of other adventurers. The problem is, our current mission is to overthrow a king, X, who has allied with another god, A (50s M, and Immortal F). If it was just for gold or recognition, I'd just leave and avoid this whole situation, but unfortunately X is very powerful and has a bounty on all of my party's head and even if I fled the kingdom A would be able to find me for him.
The main problem is my party stumbled across C, who also has issues with X, apparently, and wants to join our party. Most of my party except me sees no problem with allying with him and thinks he's a swell guy. But he hasn't seemed to change at all in the 5 years it's been. He's still so cold and distant and he doesn't really care about anything at all. And allying with him would be going against my pact with M, because he is CLEARLY misusing M's power.
I told my party about all of this and they decided I was TA for attacking C after he destroyed our home and for not allying with him now, since we share a common enemy. They told me that if I don't agree with C joining the party then I'm welcome to leave. I don't think that's at all fair since I've been adventuring with them for over a year and they have absolutely no reason to trust C!
(It should be noted that a lot of my party doesn't like my pact with M/don't like M as a deity, so I kinda feel like they're trying to replace me with someone who has similar powers but isn't allied with M)
So, AITA for how I've treated C and for not wanting him as an ally?

The Process For "Proceed"

These are going to be pretty long posts but I thought I'd include a bit of commentary in between each. Starting with this one... Honestly, I was just testing out my iPad since this was the first time I'd ever attempted drawing digitally before. It was a really rough sketch with no true detail and just a little bit of color testing. (The quality on the images is pretty rough since for a while I would just take a picture of my screen rather than screenshot. I stop doing this eventually!)

Once I got my bearings and tested out my brushes (I use ProCreate by the way!), I started actually going in with more details, mainly Noelle's hair. I also tried to make her cloak more cloak-like? I think it worked anyway. I had a reference image for both Noelle and the Vessel as far as poses go because at the time, I had no experience and had taken zero actual drawing classes. (I'm in two right now!)

Now Noelle was really coming together! The base color was put in and the rest of her body (specifically ears and antlers) were added. I usually like to do base color for all the characters before ever touching shading. I'm not really sure why. But I did add a bit of shading on the back of Noelle's cloak here so I guess I just contradicted myself!

Unlike Noelle, I ended up drawing and placing the base color on the Vessel in the same day! (I forgot to mention it earlier but I mark my progress with how much I've done by the end of the day. And said progress is very inconsistent.) I remember getting stuck on the Vessel's hair for a while since there is no concrete hairstyle for them as it's the player's decision based on the options you are given. I ended up picking a really basic design as a placeholder and then never changed it... (Whoops...)

Remember when I said my progress was inconsistent? Take this one for example. Leaping from the last progress update where I completed the Vessel all in one go, here I simply added Noelle's face. Though I will admit, it took a while to nail down her expression, specifically her mouth. I remember playing around with an open or closed mouth design before landing on this one since I thought it made her look anxious and scared. At the time, I didn't know how to properly make mouths so that's why it's not matching the perspective...
Aaaaaand here's the final product! The final day primary consisted of me figuring out the blending tool in order to shade Noelle's skin and hair. I finally switched the background to the final color and added the text box with the Soul. I couldn't figure out where to find Deltarune fonts or how to import it into ProCreate so you got stuck with my attempt at decent handwriting instead! At this time, I didn't sign my art so there's no signature on this piece. Later I signed with my name and then I recently switched to my logo!
Well, this is the format I'll be using for the process posts. It's very long form so feel free to just look at the images and completely ignore the walls of text. I've never done anything like this before so explaining my work is pretty hard... Hopefully I'll get better with that too!
Next time, we'll be following the process for "Heart Behind The Strings" which is yet another long one. (Longer than this one!)

Hi (●’◡’●)ノ first I'm not trying to be rude or rush it's a genuine question 😅 but ruffly how long does it take to write and draw one chapter? I've always wanted to write and draw my own comic but as a college student I hardly have time 😅
It completely depends on the level of detail in the drawings and the number of panels. It's been a while since I timed myself. I took a while to answer this so I could see how long things actually take for me right now. Also, note I am doing this while working a full time job, taking care of my family, and doing constant physical therapy to combat my chronic pain and other disabilities. (I only have about 10 hours of free time every week to work on drawing comics if I'm lucky.)
I write my stories in arcs. First I write a lot of events and character developments (including character motivations) that will happen in the arc -often this is just in my head (not written down). Then I just start writing and I don't worry if it's good or in character though I will still try to do that. The point of this is to give me a more concrete outline to work with. "It's easier to edit and change something than it is to make something new," I think that's how that saying goes. Then I reread and edit/rewrite scenes keeping every character's motivation in mind. This often leads to many changes in how things happen because once every character is having their motivation and ability to problem solve considered they can't act as plot devices as easily.
With fanfiction specifically, this is the stage where I rewatch and reread scenes with the characters I'm writing. The types of neurodivergent that I am makes mimicking and mirroring easier for me. It also helps that I grew up in theater. I do my best to mimic their ways of talking, and get into their head space so I can better write them. When I reread what I wrote and I can hear the actor's voice in my head then I know I captured the personality of the character.
Writing an arc normally takes me 3-5 months depending on length and what I have to set up for the start of the next arc. As the first chapters in the arc solidify I can start posting them, but only if I have about 1/4-1/2 of the arc written out in full. When writing, I go back and forth between all the chapters to make sure that there is enough foreshadowing and follow through. I reread my own story many times to make sure every flows together too.
Now for the drawing/comics side:
The long chapters of Sindria's Prophet have as much plot as 3-6 chapters of comics. Webtoons originals have a minimum of 30 panels per chapter for their plot based series. My average for comic chapters is about 45-50. (I am not an Originals writer & post on both Tapas and Webtoons CANVAS.) After learning how short their chapters are, I've started writing shorter chapters.
I can get done chibi panels in 15-30 minutes. My slice of life comic is normally 5 panels, but sometimes I've gone as high as 15. I tend to take between 45 minutes and 2 hours to get done 5 panel chibi comics.
Non-chibi panels take between 30 minutes and 2 hours. That's for each panel. If it's just a head shot and I've draw that character from that angle before it can be done in 15 minutes as long as it's not a character with a lot of accessories.
The lineart for the Gojo piece I recorded before took about 20-30 minutes. I was also chatting with a friend at the time or I probably could have done it faster. I got the whole thing done at a leisurely pace in about 2.5-3 hours. (picking colors took me a while.) The Sinbad sitting up in bed illustration took about 2-2.5 hours because of the amount of detail that went into the background and checking references. Most of that time was on line art. only about 5-10 minutes were shading.
A waist up of Sinbad with all of his metal vessels used to take me 2-3 hours for just the lineart because of the amount of detail. I've cut it down to 1-1.5 hours since I've drawn him so much and have figured out short cuts for drawing him.
To cut time for my original comic, I don't do shading anymore, but I do have a flat grey layer so I have a few tones to help things stand out. I do most of the shading in the lineart now. For special moments I will use a shading layer though.
Time break down for about 40 panels (after scripting): 5-10 panels will be chibi - 75-150 mins (1h15m -2h30m) 5-10 panels copied with minor edits - 60-100 min (1h-1h40m) 5-10 panels of just head shots etc - 150-210 min (2h30m-3h30m) 5-10 panels of high detail/ with background - 330-630 min (5h30m-10h30m) Total: 10h15m - 17h55m
This does not include figuring out panel layout or lettering etc. For that add another 2-4 hours. Also note that none of my comics are in full color. For full color add 30mins -1h30m per panel. I have an editor for my original work which adds a lot of extra time too.
Things taking so long to draw is why I only make some comics for the fanfic instead of drawing the whole thing. We would still be in the Balbadd arc if this was a full comic

The politics are the cough. the disease is flooding to chase the trend of personal brand building. Events and confusing communities and arguably the arrangement of the direct market itself. No simplicity and lots of expense with shakeup one after the other.
And some transparently business or out of story disrupting existing (in humans versus mutants)
Starting Marvel, as an example, is harder than figuring out where to come in on the Fate series. I mention this because Comics are often compared to manga and yet however convoluted in silly may get for the most part you buy one collection, or let's not kid ourselves pirate, or wait until an animated adaptation comes out realize that it's pretty much faithful, go back to the core comic and so long as you start from the beginning you can follow to the end. Even if it's based off of a visual novel chances are everything will progress from beginning to end. It's usually when that models messed up with that something becomes destructive and difficult to follow or deal.
Unlike with manga where if you're having trouble following where to start with, like the Fate series, you can at least enjoy the latest Nasu verse offering. especially if you can turn your brain off and just engage with one example. Or if you don't want to deal with that you can just go to an entirely different property from a similar publisher that scratches a similar itch.
Like the premise of America Chavez buts I think she did it wrong? Well it's not like you can just switch over to Champions because that's a mess as well along with Miles Morales Spider-Man and ms. Marvel or spider woman.
it's expensive, patchy, filled with all sorts of weird continuity that you end up having to buy just to start. As such only the dedicated fanbase could possibly tolerate it but that also is exclusive in the sense that it's so to them with a history that it feels kind of off-putting.
I like the comicsgate comics I have heard of. I can also understand why we try to move away from that. Such as very obvious p*** tracing. And so on. Yes supposed diversity has basically led to a similar story of we're here now we're going to f*** the status quo too strongly relating to the audience or the author's pandering.
But it's not just they're going to have a trans person in an announcement. Which is a pretty major character trait I imagine that they want to talk about that or include it in the announcement.
the discontinuity does not help you build upsetting characters characterization and Circumstance. This is what I mean you're following themes story and events building to something then a new author will come in and he or she will wreck all that up so that they can go in an entirely different direction. Okay maybe you don't like the homosexual overtones of Eddie Brock and Venom. Maybe you want to stick it to all the slash shippers on Tumblr. But they've been the people who been following the comic and there's been a multi-year build up with sleeper, Eddie Brock and Venom's son.
going no now Eddy has a son he doesn't know about. oh and he was in the car that killed a child and him and Venom hate each other? Basically says f*** that other story we're going back to this story because I liked it better when I was young and I like it this way. And this kind of hostility is constant with every Changing of the Guard which can happen almost every two to three years. This keeps happening right when things are starting to get good or conclusion is reached. this undermines any death any major event or twist especially when it's in the headlines as if it's going to be meaningful
we can't even engaged in the illusion that someone has a plan charting something out when it feels like it's always fly by the seat of the pants the slightest whim can blow off the direction. We know in our conscious nothing that happens matters or at the very least when things end and we don't move on to something else then realize that there was a change but it seems seamless. Or at the very least it's a damn good seem that makes a very likeable and unique and distinct quilt. Again comparing and contrasting with manga
basically constantly ragging on the Politics as if that's what's causing the problem as opposed to Poor practices is off. yeah the customer service is definitely a no-go. But let's not kid ourselves Fanboys started it
I can straight up say that if you had a book that was straight up gay. like it starred the gay couple that once was Rescued by Captain America including his childhood hero And they were joined by the gender-bending exiled courtesan. you know those girls that always hang around in the background of Thor comics and everybody talks about winching and all that stuff? What if we actually focus on one of them and we threw in some mythological deviant queerness with the idea that men who practiced a certain form of Witchcraft had to be ladies. Now in practice this often meant anything from cross-dressing to performing ceremonies with a freaking dildo. But this is Comics so instead I can just go with the idea that after he uses magic so much he can turn or does turn into a lady. At first it's inadvertent but then he Masters the power so much that can transform into any lady. So he can go from weak little nerdy witch man to a Vanir (super durable pretty strong) or she giant.
It gets even more so when apparently he can change not just to a generic woman but any specific one. so he can literally clone an individual lady alive or dead. If she's dead you can act as a vessel for her soul so effectively while he might be booted deep within he can resurrect anyone's female loved one. Until changes back. The Twist is that while he won a beauty contest to be one of Odin's many many side pieces due to the politics and sociology of the time and the setup Odin didn't like admitting that they were both men or equals. Now the crossdressing courtesan isnt necessarily the nicest person. In fact the number one thing that characterizes him is that he hates the alpha male warrior culture or at least what he perceives of the negatives of it of Asgard. But that doesn't necessarily mean that he provides a good alternative. This will be a total retcon. not only would this make Odin effectively bisexual -although it's long since established that it seems like he's banged about so much he has had a child with everyone but his wife- but the idea that Loki and Thor grew up exposed to this weird gender-bending courtesan who tried to compete with the affections of their Queen Mother just so that that way he could get ahead and hated showing the absolute loyalty and Devotion to Asgard seeking glory in battle and death as opposed to conniving Gatling favor and trolling for booty while having to serve drinks for the Warriors that came by and were celebrated in the castle Hall.
Probably make up all sorts of relationships with other lesser-known Danny's that haven't been as much part of Marvel Thor but are important or at least well-known for the tradition. I would also shamelessly ripoff @gumon and her take on Norse mythology. With giants that just naturally produce children whether male or female. anyway ignoring all the continuity just so I could bring in the mythology that I want I would have it so that he was ultimately exiled because he got set up on a failure assignment. He got assigned to the Blue Mountain the traveling planet or set of rocks now that was the home of one of the Warriors Three the blue guy well the guy who wears blue and looks kind of like Angus Khan
The entire point of this is to get a different eye view of the Marvel Universe. What was it like to be one of those disposable pin-up girls. What is the gay population in gay culture and gay people been doing and light of the world that's been invaded from the ground been in a Perpetual fight with remnants of terrorists from World War II. And of course how they've been in for you property and making their lives and how are they responding to the fact that New York finally recognizes their marriage and of course life in the Twilight years as a gay couple that's constantly facing mortality. Also with the usual hey I'm an immortal mystical being who's having to relearn how to be human after having lived a life with a God's but neither being loyal to them nor a particular loyal to my own people. Along with the issues of the shapeshifter gender Dynamics and identity and all other sort of things. Pretty damn gay book. But I read it
Kids like imitating what they see so ripping the idea that someone's going to take some of the more iconic X-Men looks and style themselves after them when they know that their mutant doesn't seem wrong. I like the idea that we're going to open with someone who manages an online community for mutants. I like the idea of Trailblazer I like the ladies thick and I like the fact that she has a more utility power that she's going to have to work with and around hopefully being clever though that backpack does run the risk of becoming the Omnitrix and having the solution for every problem that you need.
Basically I like the children of the atom a bit more than the whole lineup of the new Warriors. I think people really should give the characters a chance so if you're turned off by yet another set of incest siblings in Marvel ya no problem or argument here.
