Coastal Collection - Part Six

Happy July Everyone!!

I've been keeping this set quiet this month, but livestreams will resume in a week for the next instalment of the Coastal Collection. This month I focused on the items required for a bathroom. I did make a rather cool discovery this month that you can add on a wall decor slot onto an item to make wall decor items slot. You'll see in the image above that I've actually slotted on the hand towel that came with the Growing Together EP onto the side of the vanity. As far as I can tell all hand towels in the game slot in place, however sometimes not quite how you would expect as not all towels are centred on their wall fixes, but rather centred on the item overall. Of course its one of those nuggets of info you knew earlier, so all of my content would snap perfectly, but alas for some you will just have to shimmy into place with good old MOO!

I refreshed all my Ultimate Collections (my old CC pieces from 2015-2019) for 2023! For the maxis-match eyebrows, I finally added the new swatches from the haircolors that EA added a while ago. Besides that, most of these have been organization updates (tidied up .zip files, new pictures, etc...), so you don't need to redownload anything, but if you don't already have the slider updated versions, well, then you have a reason to redownload the makeup~

it really hits me how deep in sims i am when i get a wcif and i’m a little surprised like you can’t tell at a glance that’s a greenllamas 2020 piece? we can’t all immediately identify a clumsyalien hair? babe that’s obviously from sentate SS19. oh that’s serenity-cc, pre-maxis match celebrity-inspired era. wdym, that’s clearly from the 2021 golden age of ridgeport clothes.

I think it'll be so much better (and healthier) for the lore to be entirely cc based in terms of control - imo as it should have always been, with the cc's able to approach admins in regards to lore instead of the other way around. You have people like cellbit and bagi who occasionally ask the admins to surprise them with lore because they know as seasoned roleplayers it is something that will intrigue both them and their audiences, but you also have people like Etoiles, who has less of a steady hand on lore but still likes to have fun with it with the help of admins when he wishes. Many of the cc's are talented in storytelling and rp on their own, and those who are less confident should have the option to liason with people who can point them in the right direction.

Though well intended in the beginning, the reliance on admins with how lore would progress brought so many arcs to a halt, with some creators (ahem, Pol and Charlie) even being told not to join until preparations that seemed to never get off the ground were ready. Using Purgatory as an example, so many of the server's events distracted completely from player's individual lore, and not only did it cause a huge rift in many stories, it left many open ends and questions unanswered after a multitude of exciting build ups, with some people's lore simply leading to what seemed to be a pseudo-advertisement for the events themselves with little payoff for the character (cellbit infiltration mission u are so dear to my heart and deserved better). It's so much healthier for the audience and for the cc's to have this control, and may even help twitch chats stop spamming stuff about qsmp lore every second of the day during hiatus (though one can only dream.) RP should be a fun little thing for a player and their audience, and I think things may feel a lot less pressured or stressful with this change.

Juicy Tracksuit

With spring now in full bloom and summer approaching I really wanted to try and recreate my favourite outfit to fly in, which is of course a juicy couture tracksuit! Everytime I go on holiday its a tradition of mine to get a new one, so I have quite a collection now 😂. I am beyond obsessed with how this turned out, and of course I have also included simlish swatches and non branded swatches

The Coastal Collection - Part Eight

It feels very strange to say, but here it is, the eigth and final part of the Coastal Collection 😭 Its been quite the journey that started all the way back in January! But with all great things it must come to an end. I'm very excited to move onto a new set of items that will take us all the way through into the new year and beyond. I'll have more information on that later this month.

This last part focuses in on the living room. I started off with the standout showpiece of the month, the piano. It was yet another labour of love, similar to the playhouse from part 2, but I'm really happy to have finally been able to add a new piano for you and your sims to enjoy. There wasn't a single inspiration image pinned to my board that didnt have built in cabinets next to the fireplace, so of course a full set of those were essential for this collection.
