While my starter choice in Moon was rowlet, primarina and her pre-evos always felt like a best friend.. like an air of nostalgia to it! Maybe part of it was watching the little mermaid a lot a a lil kid, but also brionne ears always reminded me of the braids and beads hairstyles the kids i went to school with had :3 Not to mention all shes done for trans girlies <3

That one video carries her so hard you know the one (>w<) color scheme is very pretty and lov her big claws but i dont think i've totally processed her yet tbh.. sneasel having a different form and an evolution that is very tall and has a name That Close To Onceler Of All Things blindsided me. so hard (PLA was also like the one game i avoided spoilers for so like!! extra hard!!)

That all said i love hisuian sneasel very muchies especially her shiny and her mustard hands <3 I have an alpha shiny of her in PLA shes my bestfriend (she might even ultimate fav with recency bias)

hey puzz im going down a rabbit hole thinking about necrozma and kyurem so gotta ask: fav legendaries or mythicals? fav mega evo?

mythicals are honestly some of my favorite kinds of pokemon!! I really like just about all of em. legendaries, kyogre was my first legendary ever so they're on the list by default, but other'n that I love the legendary beasts (suicune especially), mewtwo, the whole cosmog line, and type null (OOOUUGH that's a PUPPY that's my FRIEND). mega evos i LOVE mega mawile, that's the first one that came to mind without even having to look at a list; other than her I like Gengar (especially the shiny, I think that's a super cool way to do that), gardevoir and gallade, banette, altaria, lopunny, hang on stop the post stop everything stop the presses i forgot about slowbro's mega evolution

GRGGRG I've definitely been asked this before but this time I'll include reasons why n whatnkt!! Also There's new mons And my top 5 shift around so very often so!

1. Delphox! He was my first starter and while its been so long his name is gone from my memory I remember spending hours super training him for the fun of it and I remember it fondly<3

2. Luvdisc! This mon has always been a fav but has grown moreso due to my love for my own oc and the inherent urge to love what others forget.

3. Hypno!!! I was a creepypasta kid and adored hypnos lullaby and in recent years this has grown into just a complete adoration for this funny beast. She's my babe and one day ill finally get a shiny.

4. Lopunny! Got a shiny girlie as a gift one birthday and ever since then its spiraled into a full-blown love for my girl who is so misrepresented by the media! Horse rabbit forever in my hart.

5. Maushold. Its so fucking funny and I grew very attached over the duration of playing scarlet because mine was a monster! Can't explain how it amuses me so much but I just really love these boring ass mice <3

I didn’t know I was writing an essay today for somebody who asked me why I think Volo is redeemable(thanks for asking though). FYI, my mind is in jumbles right now because of too many thoughts and I can never say my thoughts out perfectly. So, I also decided to put some theoretical reasons because I felt it would help you understand my thoughts a bit more. So please enjoy!

In-game/hinted at

A big thing that people use when they’re on this topic is his three Pokemon. Lucario (220 during the day), Togekiss (225), and Roseade (220 during the day). All happen to be on the high side of friendship. If Volo had Lopunny people would probably agree more because that sucker starts at 0 and evolves at 220. Still happens to be one of my fav Pokémon despite that. Anyways, that means he’d have to use them all or at least have them all in his team for a while. 

Two evolve by stones which could also take a while, for example, I had to look up where to get a Shiny Stone for my Togetic because I couldn’t find it in the wild for the life of me. In the normal games, I could only find stones post-game. So, that’s a commitment.

Garchomp is a special case. Like all Pseudo-Legendries, they have to be high level to evolve. 48 doesn’t seem like a lot, but if you're trying to grind it, suuuucks. Especially since they all level up slowly. This also means that it was kept on his team for a long time. Plus its level 68 in the final battle. We don’t talk about Spirtomb. 

One thing that flew over my head was his slightly sympathetic writing, which happens to be that no one says anything about him leaving except Cogita who bashed him. He was surprisingly talked about less than anyone in the game. It could have been unintentional but I like to think about it like that. Was there a reason why everybody just stopped realizing he existed?

 It could have been when the player told Laventon about Spear Pillar, they told more than about Giratina. Wouldn’t others talk more than if it (somehow) ended on a bad note? Gossip would probs be the only thing keeping me going if I was there. At least someone other than Cogita would say something else. What about Laventon and the clan leader you choose? No, nobody, which is like I said, weird. Makes you feel bad for the man.

This one is mainly a product of me looking into it too much but after the battle on Spear Pillar, he has a tired look. It always seemed like grief to me, not for you but because he failed. Like he gave it his all and got NADA. I like to believe that he realizes what he has done is beyond stupid over time. Like I don’t know how he’d think that’ll work out. I’m def going into this more when I get to the theory theories. 

This one is small but it’s about him telling Laventon to complete the Pokedex. It was very small but I believe it’s a way to also wish you good luck. It’s very small but it’s like his pride isn’t letting him say good luck to you so he’s going to the person in Hisui that you care about the most. Even if he was to say good luck to you/complete the Pokedex, it would seem fake and just like a salty Showdown player saying GG after making fun of you before you won. 

Now I’m going off of the in-game examples to go on a little rant. So, his Pokémon is a PRIME example. All his Pokémon are hard to get/evolve. Unlike like Ghetsis, his pseudo-legendary is evolved and Volo also has the most friendship evolutions. Btw, if Cyrus cares about his Pokémon because of his one Crobat, then Volo cares for his Pokémon more than him. 

His motive is slightly understandable. Wanting to know why things happen to you and why we have to go through, a question that may have gone through our heads. Definitely went through my head before I stopped caring LMAOO, I also forgot about it. I have memories that are buried in thoughts of Pokémon and Splatoon. Anyways, the way he went to do so was, uhhh, not the best, like I don’t know how basically dethroning Arceus would help him out. Creative thought ig??

Theories 

There’s one thing that was something that fell on my head one day and I kept it. It’s about his title, Wielder. I believe that it may be a title that the People of Celestia(?) or whatever he is, used when they had Pokémon. I don’t believe that he dislikes his Pokémon so that’s how it came to me. It could be that while they do think of Pokémon as dangerous things, they still realize that they have feelings and protect them. Of course, I’m just overthinking and trying to defend my reasoning why he’s reasonable. 

Ah yes, Immortal Volo, my favorite kind of Volo, especially if he’s drawn like he’s still young. So, if we're thinking correctly, he either calmed down or is still balls to the walls crazy. I like to choose that he calmed down even though I usually still depict him like he is as a merchant even though people can say that was just a façade. WELL, I like to pretend he’s my friend sometimes because he’s COOL. But if we are honest, he’ll probably look at his past actions and cringe. 

That gets me onto my favorite point because it’s probably the most realistic one! He has time to think about what he has done. Reflecting is one of the things that people comment about when it comes to N. Which I like but, can’t we make Volo reflect on what happened? He has time to do it. Years of being alone unless you believe he had some relationships. It would make his change more believable than just being like “I mega messed up, guess I'm good now.”

Now the theory about Volo being Cynthia’s dad. It goes into the immortality theory and/or longevity. Let’s be honest, he is FINE. So him having a child with someone is not impossible. But the reason why I brought this up is that if it’s semi-true, it either means Volo calmed down enough to have a sane child or Cynthia was able to learn what not to do by learning about what happened on Spear Pillar. 

From what I said, hopefully, you can see where I’m coming from. He is one of my favorite characters so I guess you can use that against me if you want to tell me why you don’t think he’s redeemable. Even if he was a pure villain I still might like him but that’s because I find him interesting, like how I do with Colress. They are important but there’s less lore about them than there should be. 

I would say more but it’s honestly hard for me bc I just finished Jojolion and my brain is mush.

Based on my actual life haha.

Valka- vulpix, I’m UK based now days, and the number of times I’m wandering the streets in the early hours, and come face to face with a fox on the street. They’re like watchers, spirits that have alwasy just kind of found me. We seem to be around at the same time, I’ve alwasy seen them in the garden, some will come to feed on snails and leftovers we leave for them. As a kid I bought the wrong game, and was GUTTED that I couldn’t get vulpix in the early generation cartridge game. Can’t recall which was such but I got the one with growlithe instead. Upon finding someone who would trade me one, I was extatic, and they swiftly became my fav fire type.

Booker - teddiursa. Idk what to say man, I love bears. Not sure why, think I was told some childhood story about them, always had dreams with lots of bears in them. I alwasy favoured ursaring, but booker kind of built his own story over time, and became his own thing without much say from me. Just seemed to fall into place. Gen 2 was just a great thing for me, Crystal yo could get teddiursa real early in the game, and a vulpix pretty early, and genrally it just sat well for me haha.

Quintin, scizor - was heart broken I never had a friend to get scizor as a kid. Was a tough pill to swallow haha. The first time I managed to get one in a game was thanks to a strong friends, and so he became a very friendly, happy go lucky, head empty guy, and so Quintin was Born, and so years and years later, I hatch a Scyther in Pokemon Go while out on a very romantic date with Grey, and he hatched one too like an hour later? Just very odd coincidence. So I named him after the original Quintin from my old games, and he’s been reborn in the new gen.

Minerva - lopunny (shiny) specifically because when I was VEEEEEEERY young, I had a pink bunny cuddly toy that everyone use to say was cute and girly and sweet, but I alwasy saw it as tough and strong, and she had that name, so it kind of passed on to Lopunny when that generation came out. Not even that keen on pink, but she’s just kind of an old friend haha.

Won’t pick electric types without a bug dual type, not something I’m good with, electronics are a no go. Work very closely with fire types because of hot country origin/childhood, and water types are a no-go because I genuinely have a fear of the water, and that passed to peach.

I chose what was logaical, what Pokemon would have found me, should things have been set in that world of course. I mean sort of, some of them I just fell in love with haha. Some others chosen were because of pets, some because of family work or heritage, others due to favourites in the Pokemon world. It’s a real mixed bag!

At one point I thought in depth about the team that I’d want to have in real life. So have a doodle I did of, well...me in real life with the team I would put together.

My two favorite pokemon, obviously. Gengar was my fav since Gen 1, but when Tsareena was released in Alola... I just kinda knew the second I saw her that she was my new favorite. So both are going on my team.

Abra is the one pokemon I’ve always said that, if I had a team IRL, that’s the mon I’d want. The ability to teleport wherever I want, and also a cute, lazy napping buddy? Hell yeah.

Umbreon is a good moon-rabbit-dog. There’s not much more to it then that.

Grimmsnarl actually seems like he’d be a great friend to give hugs. So I have a Grimmsnarl.

And last but not least, Lopunny also seems like they’d give great hugs. And it was either a male Lopunny or a male Gardevoir because I think both are pretty funny...

the popplio line is just so perfect to me in terms of design. sealions (my favourite animal)? trans colours? the perfect blend of gorgeous and adorable? they hit the nail on the head with these designs.

honourable mention goes to meowstic for specifically appealing to me.

76: a pokemon you feel is underrated?

LOPUNNY. seriously every lopunny i've ever used has been incredible and idk why people say it's a terrible pokemon so frequently. sure it's evolution method is annoying but i've always found it to be worth it.

#4 : Gen 3 , mainly because of the Mystery Dungeon and the weirdest game, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. My gen 3 starter (for Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald) will always be Mudkip 💖 plus this gen just has so many cute monsters, Plusle + Minun , Gardevoir , Absol, Chimecho, and Jirachi are some of my fav!

#3 : Gen 1 , I can’t not have this on the list! The one who started it all,, and I like the original anime so I’m biased.

#2 : Gen 8 , I personally love the Dyna/Gigantamax power and how silly it is. Scorbunny is my darling son and I adore him with all my heart. But Sobble is great to, this was the first time in a long while that I had a hard time choosing my starter. Sword/Shield has some of my most favorite human characters out of the whole franchise. Yarrow/Milo, Rose and Peony. The special Galarian forms are so nice too especially the big 3 legendary birds (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres) look super cool!!

#1 Gen 4, my childhood revolved around Heartgold! There was also Pokémon Ranch which was really cute! Oh and PokéPark- to me this Gen had some of the best/nostalgic games ever. Piplup, Shaymin and Buneary my babies 💖 I have soooo many figures, cards, and plushies from this gen.

And just for fun: my teams for each gen mentioned! (might not be the strongest but I love them all sm💖)
