Definitely my favorite SNW episode yet!! I really loved it! I think it was a perfect mix of TOS and the newer style.

Love that Ortegas got a moment to shine even tho she didn’t get to go on the away mission

I loved Chapel’s hair here

Ok when Ortegas is wandering around and runs into Chapel there’s a little romantic music cue that happens…foreshadowing?!

I LOVE that La’an and Uhura both immediately tell people about their symptoms once they notice them and don’t try to pretend like they’re okay

I think it’s so funny that Pike is in a situationship but I’m enjoying it

Very glad this ep was Spock Lite but him trusting Ortegas based on a feeling was a nice touch

I wish we got a little more time with Zack and learned a little more about the planets culture

Hard (full album) / SHINee - SHINee’s back! I love the new album. The title track’s music video is very very cool, the album itself is amazing (there are no skip songs), and the only thing I’m disappointed by is Onew’s absence from their promo activities. (Although, collector-me is also bummed there isn’t a photocard set version of the album.)

Is There Anybody Out There? album / A Great Big World - One of my favorite albums. Road trip music perfect for singing along to in the car.

Destined - I went into this thinking it felt a little like New Life Begins, which I loved. And it was, until the plot got violent. So not so much like New Life Begins, I guess. LOL Still, I’m loving it.

King the Land - It scratches the “romance novel” itch and I adore it. It gets better every week.

Love Tractor - Very satisfactory ending. I’ve added it to my rewatch list and will be reading the manhwa. Also, I love the OST. My final review is here.

Step By Step - Chot wins MVP again, cake is a metaphor, and the honeymoon phase ruins everything.

Strange New Worlds - My favorite Western-produced show right now. Star Trek was my og hyperfixation and SNW truly is the only modern Trek show giving us that same magic. We’re three episodes in to season two and my only reservation so far is that the episodes are very narrowly focused on one crew member at a time. They’ve all been great episodes (ep 3!!!!), but I miss the crew solving problems as a crew.

SNW ep. 2.09 "Subspace Rhapsody"

I was worried because I always think I’m going to hate musical episodes, but, as usual, I ended up really liking it. I appreciated the fact that the singing didn’t just happen. It happened for a science fiction reason and the characters were aware that it wasn’t normal. 

I also loved the character beats: Una telling Jim how to be a good first officer, La’an letting go of her fear and talking to Jim, the mention of Carol, the mention of Korby and Christine’s happiness at getting the fellowship, Pike/Batel, oh, and especially Uhura being a badass and saving the day. 

That number in the bar was my favorite!

I loved the tenor-singing Klingons. LOL.

BTW–I’m with Batel–no camping without room service!

This was a fun one right before the season finale which seems to be a heavy one. (Plus, I’m wondering if we’ll have a cliff-hanger)
