My brain is short circuiting.

My primary type is psychic. Sabrina was practically my goth awakening at seven years old, and Abra is my spirit animal (immediately teleport away when presented with anything unfamiliar or even potentially threatening). My secondary type is ghost, in no small part thanks to the fact that I started writing "horror" as soon as I could properly hold a pencil ("horror" here meaning silly lil ghost stories that probably made no sense to anyone but me).

I was also the kid glitching out my game with my older brother's game genie trying to catch all the Pokémon ghosts in the tower in Lavender Town because I was so sad that they were lonely, so that should give some insight as to how I feel about ghosts, Pokémon, and ghost type Pokémon in general.

I am not incredibly familiar with Mimikyu or Spiritomb (my last Pokemon games were Diamond/Pearl), but I will be doing research like a proper Pokémon Professor to learn as much about them as humanly possibly. I know more about Mimikyu and frankly the poor bb just wants to be loved and deserves absolutely all of the love.

Pikachu is overrated anyway. I said it and I will fcking stand by it, and Mimikyu's very existence only further solidifies this opinion within me. Out of all the iconic Pokémon in the original anime itself, Team Rocket's Meowth is and will always be my darling bb. Smart-mouthed lil mafia cat who deserves SO MUCH BETTER—

Brief reading into Spiritomb has, at first glance, enlightened me to the following:

Several Pokédex entries state that Spiritomb was sealed roughly 500 years before the present time. The Pokémon lays curses with its wicked thoughts. It will lash out at anyone with little thought, often exercising short-sightedness in its pursuit of vengeance.

And I am beyond intrigued by every last word of that. Historical ghost Pokémon? Vengeful lil ghost bb? I want one RIGHT NOW—

On an unrelated note, tysm for this, I just had a briefly horrifying moment because my cat made a mad dash out the door as I was taking the trash out. He is back inside and safe now but I almost had a heart attack when he zipped past my feet and into the darkness, and this has helped calm me down so much 😭😭♥️♥️

Nearly a year had passed since his attempt at obtaining godhood, and nearly a year since he found himself in the care of the Dendro Archon, Nahida. And as that fated date approached, another one crept up as well--it was impossible not to notice the hustle and bustle of people preparing for a festival, the Sabzeruz Festival, the celebration of the birth of Sumeru's beloved Archon. With it, Yuuto realized he should do something to help her celebrate--since, after all, she had pestered him about celebrating his own birthday with others.

But if he was going to show himself at all, to help her celebrate, it should be meaningful and show his appreciation for all she had done for him. The debt he owed her certainly couldn't be filled by a single gift, but whether or not he gave one gift or thousands, it wouldn't matter; she would be appreciative either way, knowing her.

Something simple, then. A scarf, soft green and embroidered with clovers--custom ordered, naturally, but Mora was meaningless to him anyway.

Then, he would spend the day with her; though he hadn't paid much attention last year, he knew that she had spent 500 years worth of birthdays alone, and that last year, her birthday festival had been hijacked and misused by those wretched Sages. No, she deserved better than that; she'd have the best damn festival ever, and if anyone bothered her or tried to raise a ruckus… He'd deal with them swiftly.

When Yuuto gave her the gift, the rain cloud over he head disappeared.

She opened it with haste, and her here’s sparkled at a green scarf—custom made, unique, one of a kind. It made something stir in her chest—a pure form of happiness she never before associated with her birthday.

Smiling wide as she almost immediately wrapped the scarf around her neck, letting the lower half of her face be buried in it.

Big green eyes stared back up at Yuuto, and not even the scarf could hide her smile anymore.

“We match,” she stated simply. They didn’t actually match—their colors were green and blue, the sky and the forests of Teyvat. Their scarves didn’t even have a matching pattern, but that was not what she meant.

They gave each other scarves, their lives full of the bitter cold reality of being left behind, trapped in a hell of other people’s making. It was more than a gift to her—it was a symbol of warmth, of comfort, of home.

Of a family born of bonds and not of blood.

“Thank you so much, Yuuto. I’ll never go anywhere without it.”

And she very much kept her words, too—holding his hand throughout the whole day, she wore the scarf around her neck like a trophy, proud and beaming behind the green clovers.

Yes, so long as her hand was in his, so long as this scarf remained around her neck, she would feel full, and right at home.
