RECOVERING LOST, HACKED, OR STOLEN CRYPTO - HACK-ANGELS
Hello, my name is Peter Hartman.
I'm 56 years old from Germany.
My family and I were left with nothing after falling prey to a cryptocurrency investment fraud that took $807,000 in USDT and Bitcoins from us. We were quite fortunate to stumble across a post about HACK-ANGELS, a cryptocurrency and funds recovery organization with extensive cybersecurity knowledge. HACK-ANGELS was able to recover all of our cash, and they were tracked down and reported to the right authorities using the information we gave. In my opinion, you should use HACK-ANGELS to recover your cryptocurrency.

my mota OCs as olympians because i have to
mahalia - reigning gold medalist in women’s tennis but not the favorite because of the injury struggles. she has a fiery relationship with her doubles partner, fellow princeton alumni john egan. know for a mouth and a temper, plays with tactical precision and crazy speed, and is not someone you want to get in a fight with on twitter. she has a nike campaign and a racquet you can buy at dick’s sporting goods and outfits that have her fans making edits of her to meg songs on tiktok. doesn’t play about her parents. is coming into this olympics with less fire than usual, but her best playing in two years. some think she learned from the injury, some think it’s getting a new coach, but everyone can agree that it’s definitely not getting a new training partner in john egan, who seems to be the only person seeing the old mahalia on the court.
bucky - back to back tour champion. hasn’t medaled at the olympics yet, but after a roller coaster first five professional seasons, he’s held it together these past two seasons mostly due to a coaching switch. bowman seems to pick the problem kids. charming, strong, looks good in wristbands, has an undefinable relationship with a woman who could knock him unconscious with a tennis ball. he seems to linger around mahalia more and more as they fight less and less. they even stood with each other for the parade of nations. has a real shot this year.
hazel - beach volleyball, plays with sheila hartman. third olympics. got silver in her first, bronze in her second, and is chasing that elusive gold using momentum from the best professional season of her career. played on a national championship indoor team at stanford and everyone assumed she’d go pro in europe like her older brother did, but she joined the beach circuit instead. she’s found lots of success there, but there’s always been a “what if” hanging over her head. maybe this year she can prove that she’s right where she needs to be. is very friendly and welcoming to new players, but it’s no more mr. nice guy come game time
jack - two-time indoor volleyball olympian, first time beach volleyball olympian. it’s worse on his knees but easier on his shoulders. (there’s definitely something going on between him and hazel keene, right? or is it just me?)
dora - 100m and 400m hurdles. two timer. she’s fucking fast. always has her nails did, hair did, and face beat on track. always smiling. dating fellow columbia law student and olympian rosie rosenthal, a triathlete. hops the into the stands to hug him when she wins. has darren, delilah, and her grandparents’ names drawn on her shoes. wants to be a sports agent for black athletes when she retires.
rosie - proud boyfriend first, law student second, olympian third. not here to win, but brings home an honorable bronze nonetheless. dora definitely makes tiktoks about being a world-class athlete and student at the same time and rosie is in a lot of them and the world is in love with him but he’s the most married man of all time without being married.
vera - women’s eight rower, bow. top of the field in her sport, less than 5k followers on the instagram, incredible husband and beautiful, loud husky at home. she’s living the life. advocates for mental health in sports and coaches rowing when she’s not competing. rowed with ginny in college and hopes to defend her title from last olympics. has a smattering of tattoos and approx 12 piercings in each ear. married to u.s. men’s soccer player ben demarco (not playing this season due to injury but followed his wife to paris. making hab content on ig and tt)
ginny - women’s eight rower, seat 6. daughter of two olympic rowers. her two oldest brother, danny, and second youngest brother, peter (at the olympics) row quadruple sculls and quadruple sweep respectively. her youngest brother nathan is a ncaa champion eight, just like her. she and vera match their outfits each race, including hair and jewelry (up to 2 piercings, ginny ain’t doing all that).
lola - 50-200m freestyle. swims a crazy anchor leg for the women’s and mixed relays. the only person happier than her when she wins is fellow swimmer john brady.
bobbie - indoor volleyball, middle blocker. 2x ncaa player of the year and 4x first team all-american lighting europe tf up in her first professional season. but is it enough? her father, robert chambers, was on the last u.s. men’s team to win gold and she’s expected to outmatch his legacy by defending the u.s.’s title.
dolores - park skateboarder who takes on the course in wired headphones and not only does she not get tangled, she normally wins. soooooooooooooo bisexual.

Media Musin’ Monday, #7:
Screw You, Nickalodeon: Making Fiends Deserved Better
I have no idea how anyone could seriously believe that the entertainment industrial complex™ even tries anymore to hold the illusion of a just or meritocratic realm. No holds barred, I have my issues with about every company still clinging like barnacles to the tragic, sinking ship that cable TV has become, but if you want me to point to a network that’s given me an entire skeleton of bones to pick by this point, and I’m underlining Nickelodeon in red at the top of my list.
It’s not because they host some bad shows, no. It’s not a sour grapes reaction to the untimely end of some of my favorite shows either, and though the entire rotten apple situation with creators like Dan Schneider and Butch Hartman certainly added to barrel’s spoilage, I would still feel every bit of my disdain for Nick’s tv group for the one cardinal sin they have committed again and again and again to ad nauseum- their ongoing phase of running a talent slaughterhouse.
It sounds hyperbolic, but I’d call it a fair observation: Spongebob is widely aknowledged as legitimately both the best and the worst thing to happen to this corner of kid’s media, hands down, but I don’t blame the little yellow guy one bit. He’s only another victim to the mess, and as much as I would love to go on a whole dossier spiel of the history of Nickalodeon from the 90s “golden age” to a full list of the dozens of shows and creators their execs have royally fucked over in the name of chasing the ratings dragon… for one, that’s been done a hundred times by other people at this point, and much better than I could. For two, that would take all freaking day. Just off the top of any cartoon savvy person’s head you’d vaguely recall the assassination of Legend of Korra, El Tigre, or Invader Zim, but that can is filled with so many “blink and you’ll miss it” smaller shows that were barely given two steps out of the starting gate, it pads down an entire TVTropes article on the subject. Dozens of them, shows that Nick all but basically set up for failure before quietly shipping them to the peaceful farm upstate- by which I mean shuffled off to inconsistent time blocks and lower priority channels so they could burn out their final approved episodes in hospice. Nicktoons alone garnered a hell of a reputation for exactly what I’m talking about, but that’s show biz, or… something.
Their worst and probably most audacious offense of all? Let me tell you about the fate of the charming world of a little girl who made fiends.
There’s no better place to talk about the end than the beginning.
Making Fiends, I mean, the original Making Fiends was a series of flash-animated shorts among a handful of other early 2000s web cartoons made by Amy Winfrey.
✨ Just, in case you didn’t recognize or feel something for that name, Amy Winfrey is one of the utter beasts of cartoons in general, not purely kids’ media. Songwriter, directing, animation, screenwriting, voice acting… you name a part of the process, and she’s probably dipped her toe in there at some point. Professionally, she broke into the industry contributing work to earliest season of South Park, and while she personally is most known for and associated with Making Fiends, the likely most prominent body of work she’s been a part of would be Bojack Horseman, wherein she’s credited as a director for many of its strongest episodes, including (but not limited to):
- “Free Churro”
- “The Telescope”
- "Sunk Cost and All That"
- “The View from Halfway Down”
- Amy Winfrey and her spouse (Peter Merryman) making a cameo appearance in the BJH episode “sunk cost and all that”
And even before all of that, she’s been at this animation stuff since the 90s and it shows in a loaded up portfolio of accolades and projects, both professional and personal.
The relevance of this information is to help put in some perspective to just how rotten of a deal she comparatively got with Nickelodeon, when one of those passion creations got a chance to join the network’s airing list.
But to sum up the idea of the web series proper, it independently released 24 short episodes in total, each centered around the antics of two girls engaged in both a completely one sided friendship and nemesis-ship. The show’s namesake refers to the single action the evil little Vendetta is most known for- creating a variety of servant monsters, many of which she uses to secure her rule over the port town of Clamburg, and all its inhabitants. Charlotte, on the other hand, is the quintessential “children’s show” character: near inhumanly kind, cheerful, and naive. So much so that she’s oblivious to her “best friend’s” near daily attempts to murder her, or the fact that she, you know, despises her.
In 2006, Nickelodeon took an interest in Winfrey’s toon and the prospect of adapting it into a TV series, reportedly because a daughter of a studio employee was a huge fan.
And fun fact btw, this was actually the first time that Nick did this approach of turning an indie web animation into one of their shows, but it certainly wasn’t the last if you remember this was also the origin of Breadwinners.
And as far as the audience was concerned, it was quite the successful transition! The TV version pretty much kept all of the major beats and vibes of the original, with polished animation, the same voice actors, and some stylistic upgrades to the art/environmental designs. For a brief time, it was the highest rated thing on its release channel too. Someone I don’t quite recall the name of once endearingly referred to the show as “baby’s first grimdark” and I adore how fitting of a summary that is. It sports a charmingly unique art style, memorable soundtrack, and I can swear to y’all, the humor aged like a fine wine.
“Why don’t you pretend to be dead?”
“:) ok!”
*slam*
(Also, sidenote, the entire series is still up on your tube, in HD, completely free to watch!)
So, if it’s such a neat little show, then why on earth does barely a soul seem to remember it existing? And even fewer scare who recall knowing about the show during its 2008 release?
Because Nickelodeon Studios, without hyperbole, set this show up for failure at every single turn before it even got a fighting chance.
People know of some shows that Nick treated like garbage, but this one they treated like absolute shit for reasons I can’t fathom.
Making Fiends, for one, never actually saw the light of day on the main network channel, as per the original plans. It was actually instead delegated over to Nick’s sister channel, Nicktoons, by a last minute decision.
Nicktoons, fyi, was not carried by most cable packages. I obviously lived on it as a kid, and it was functionally to Nick what I remember Boomerang being to Carton Network- the cable block where reruns of much older but loved shows were shoveled off to once they finished their days on the main channel.
Second, it was quietly premiered with barely a couple farts of advertising, too. I remember maybe seeing one preview as a kid, on Nicktoons.
And I guess, not keeping either of these in mind, Nick then abruptly pulled the plug on the whole thing, citing the tried and true “low ratings” explanation and leaving it at that.
Not counting years of post-cancelation reruns, the show actively ran from October 4, 2008, to November 1, 2008.
That is roughly a month between premiere and the end production date.
One season. Six entire episodes.
Seven whole additional completed scripts abandoned on the table.
Yeah.
I’m a touch salty about it still.
And with the shutting down of the Nicktoons network social media in 2018, any additional acknowledgment of the show from Nickelodoen themselves has kind of vanished to my knowledge. Like, it’s almost no wonder you already had to be part of the cult following to know about it, when Nick has been quiet about the calf they sent to auction since. Worst part is, they still hogged the rights to the show instead of idk, wild idea, giving it back over to Winfrey. I can only imagine people get away with entire reuploads of the series under the otherwise very IP protective Nick’s nose as another display of how low and bastardly those execs really view Making Fiends.
And that sucks! Wow! But I guess in a “be happy it happened, not sad it ended” way, I’m kind of glad for the fact that we can still enjoy and pass around the show that we did get to experience at all, rather than see it fade into true lost media territory.
Even today, about 16 whole years later, I know for a fact there are still plenty of other fans that remember and cherish the splash this tiny show made in that big, brutal pond. So, in that manner, you can’t truly call Making Fiends dead and gone.
A bittersweet story to think about, and only one of many down a long list, but ultimately one I’m happy to be able to tell at all.
Even if all the while still raising a giant middle finger to the network for the ending.

Hi there! Hope your day is going well! You've mentioned before you were using trauma theory in your work, would you have any recommended reading about this that you found helpful or useful? Thanks : )
Hi!! I've started off well and I hope your day goes well too!
Oh boy do I. Let me go pull up my Qual list.
If you only read one article, it should be Radstone's that I'll cite below. She explains the origins, the intentions, and the ethical questions of the field in an extremely comprehensive and comprehensible way. Obviously, it's a little dated and thus can't take into account different moves made more recently, but she pulls up issues that recent work ends up addressing.
Radstone, Susannah. “Trauma theory: Contexts, Politics, Ethics”. Paragraph 30 no 1 (2007): 9–29.
Below the cut are several more recommendations. I've commented on the ones for which I have something useful to say.
Traditional/Foundational texts
Freud, Sigmund. Beyond the Pleasure Principle. New York: Liveright, 1961.
Freud, Sigmund. “Screen Memories”. 1899.
Freud, Sigmund. “Mourning and Melancholia” in The Freud Reader. ed. Peter Gay. New York: W.W. Norton and Co., 1989.
With my deepest apologies, I do have to acknowledge that trauma theory is psychoanalytic and particularly Freudian in origin. You do not need to read these, but having at least skimmed them will help you understand what people are referring to in later works. Pleasure Principle is the big one - and is pretty short. There are also some cases from On the Interpretation of Dreams that come up (the burning child, a rat one), but usually those are explained in-text anyway.
Caruth, Cathy, ed. Trauma: Explorations in memory. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1995.
Caruth, Cathy. Unclaimed Experience: Trauma, Narrative and History. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1996.
Caruth is one of the Big Names in original trauma theory - I believe she's currently at Cornell. These texts are what everyone refers to, whether they agree with her or not. I'd definitely give them a look over.
Leys, Ruth. Trauma: A genealogy. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2000.
Leys approaches trauma theory from a more practical (as in how we practice, medically) angle especially in the start of the book, but she is extremely thorough in discussing the origins of trauma theory - and makes some important/interesting criticisms of Caruth's work.
Laub, Dori; Felman, Shoshana. Testimony: Crises of Witnessing in Literature, Psychoanalysis and History. New York: Routledge, 1991.
Felman and Laub have different academic backgrounds and focuses, which means that this book provides several different approaches and interpretative angles, using trauma theory approaches. I particularly like Laub's concept of the "listener" in the recitation of trauma.
(It's worth noting that Laub himself is a survivor of the Shoah, which he discusses in terms of his multiple witness positions in a chapter).
Hartman, Geoffrey. “On Traumatic Knowledge and Literary Study.” New Literary History 26, no 3 (1995): 537–63.
Felman, Shoshana. The Juridical Unconscious: Trials and Traumas in the Twentieth Century. Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 2002.
Newer horizons
Luckhurst, Roger. The Trauma Question. 2008.
Talks about trauma theory approaches particularly in regards to artistic production (film, painting, writing).
Buelens, Gert; Durrant, Samuel; Eaglestone, Robert eds. The Future of Trauma Theory: Contemporary Literary and Cultural Criticism. London: Taylor and Francis, 2013.
An edited volume with chapters that address many of the criticisms of original trauma theory! (eurocentrism, logocentrism, for example)
Sanyal, Debarati. Memory and Complicity: Migrations of Holocaust Remembrance. New York: Fordham University Press, 2015.
Rothberg, Michael. The Implicated Subject: Beyond Victims and Perpetrators. Stanford: Stanford University Press, 2019.
A lot of trauma theory has a sort of binary victim/perpetrator dichotomy, but Rothberg looks at the 'implicated subject', someone connected but not always a direct participant in traumatic events, which I find very helpful.
Not quite trauma theory but potentially helpful
Benjamin, Walter. “The Storyteller” in The Storyteller Essays. New York: New York Review Books, 2019.
Rothberg, Michael. Multidirectional memory. Stanford: Stanford University Press, 2009.
Sontag, Susan. Regarding the Pain of Others. New York: Picador, 2003.

Book Jacket Credit Hunt, #1: Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede.
I popped back onto tumblr today to an explosion of reblogs on a post on Kazul, greatest & mightiest dragon of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles book series, and several corrections on the artist responsible for that specific Kazul.
Trina Schart Hyman created this version of Kazul & Cimorene, stars of Dealing With Dragons in its 1st edition, but I incorrectly credited the artist as being Dalia Hartman.
My best guess is that I stopped my search for the artist after Google & Wikipedia's crediting of "Dalia Hartman +14 others".
So which cover did Dalia Hartman do?
The only other covers with illustrator credits I've found in an exclusively virtual search are these:
JP Hardback & 2002 ENG editions, jackets by Peter de Sève.
2004 FR edition's cover, by Yves Besnier.
That's it.
Online, most vendors don't bother providing extra details on any given book past langage, page count, & publisher. It's not even a given that translators will be named, in non-English editions.
So I come to you, the collective fandoms of Tumblr, and ask: if you access to a physical copy of this book (in any language or edition), could you share what name is given for the cover artist?
In English language books, details on any given book are generally found on the first page with printed words, typically the page left of a Table of Contents but sometimes snuck before/after an Author's Note. That said, my knowledge on physical books is several years out of date: I haven't been able to read non-large print novels since 2020.
These are some other, not obviously credited covers of Dealing With Dragons that I've found:
(from left to right: 2001 German edition; ? Turkish; 2019 Turkish; ? Thai; 2006 Czech.)
Thanks to everyone who sent corrections along on the original Kazul post (which I accidentally deleted: progressively weaker vision + touchscreen = skill issue)! Seeing so much love for the Great & Mighty King Kazul, the series she stars in & the cover art of her debut book genuinely made my day. <3

JAZZ SPECTRUM’S SONG OF THE WEEK, 23 SEPTEMBER 2023, “Dedicated to You”
I got the chance to contribute to my good friend’s show with this third hour (9-10 pm CDT) this weekend. I wrote the following note which is published here https://www.wgte.org/blog/this-weeks-song-of-the-week-dedicated-to-you-notes-on-the-eight-versions and follows below.
“Dedicated to You”
That descending figure and resolution over a I-IV chord pattern is what grabbed me when pianist Randy Ingram played “Dedicated to You” on a Small’s Live Stream from Mezzrow’s recently. I played Name That Tune with my usual level of success until Ingram announced it afterwards.
Fritz offered me the chance to pick this week’s song; the choice was easy. Choosing versions was less easy, but more fun.
The first recording of Sammy Cahn’s tune and our starting place is from Andy Kirk and His Twelve Clouds of Joy who made their name in Kansas City. It sets the mood with a concise big band recording from 1936. The middle of the first set includes pianists whom I want to know better: James Williams and John Hicks. Williams recorded “Dedicated to You” on his first solo album as he rose to prominence as a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Hicks was everywhere in the 1980s, but my musical attention was being distracted from jazz and I didn’t get to fully appreciate him. His smart trio work here, with Buster Williams, and Louis Hayes, is familiar and right. The first set ends with a lush Sarah Vaughn/Billy Eckstine duet.
If I rediscovered the tune courtesy of a Small’s Live Stream, then it’s fitting to have musicians I see regularly there—Eric Alexander, Jim Rotondi, Steve Davis, David Hazeltine, Peter Washington, and Joe Farnsworth—work out on the tune, performing under the name of One for All. A very young Rachael Price performs what is the title tune to her 2008 album, reminding us that her prowess in Lake Street Dive builds on this serious jazz apprenticeship. “Dedicated to You” is just one luxurious melody Freddie Hubbard dug into on his “The Body and The Soul” albu, and that could be where we could leave things.
But, we wrap up on an even higher level with what, I belatedly remember, is the version I first heard—Johnny Hartman singing with John Coltrane, pushing the tune’s richness to exquisite limits.
After two sets of a beautiful but particularly slow ballad, it seemed like a palate cleanser of Count Basie and the Orchestra doing their rousing anthem “One O’Clock Jump” was in order. This version from Newport in 1957 features soloists Lester Young and Roy Eldridge before Illinois Jacquet rides it out with the throttle fully open. I close out the hour with Billy Childs, joied by the trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, taking on Chick Corea’s “Crystal Silence,” another simple, delicate, beautiful tune.

A-T-2 303 BC Records/One Way Productions
BC Records and its sub label One Way Records owned by Began Cekic, they put out mostly covers and medleys often with the help of Fred Zarr and Tee Scott. Their best known release is probably Sixty-Nine/Change Position 88 by Brooklyn Express which was originally released in 1981
Began Cekic's DJ friendly party tracks were nothing if not formulaic, all studio assemblages, all re-records of hits by other artists, all beefed up thanks to Tee Scott's mixing, editing, and overdubbing skills
I've posted a Brooklyn Express record already, their killer cover of Girl You Need A Change Of Mind (A-T-2 112) This is a standalone track on the the b side but also begins Back In Time the almost 14 minute medley on the a side of the 12" single. You can hear the Eddie Kendricks cove at the beginning of the edit below before the band expertly move onto a cover of the Fatback Band's Bus Stop and finish with the break from Cymande's Bra. From Bus Stop onward this medley is sometimes called Back In Time Pt.2 and it's edited into a 7 minute stand alone track on their 1982 debut album. A little confusing, I know
Brooklyn Express - Back In Time
Tee Scott is prolific in 1982 and at some point stops working on the Brooklyn Express project and you can tell. Before that though the same team release Let's Get Horny under the name Hi-Voltage, which breaks into Dan Hartman's Relight My Fire. Then there are the straighter cover versions like Peter Brown's Easy Life covered by Leo Carrier's disco project New Paradise
New Paradise - Easy Life
Dõlette McDonald covers Atmosphere's Xtra Special and it becomes a hit in the US. Tee Scott isn't mentioned as mixing this one
Dõlette McDonald - (Xtra) Special
Brooklyn Express percussionist (and much more) Bashiri Johnson co-writes a rare original track with Began Cekic. It's remixed by Jellybean and is fine bit of early hip hop/electro. Began Cekic always the magpie The Champ organ line is played throughout. Cekic's music is transitioning to synths in 1982, you can hear this beginning with Brooklyn Express's Witness The Change etc medley Burning Hot
Began Began - Stay In Touch (Instrumental)
Began Cekic released a lot more in 1982, including Shine Your Light by The Graingers the instrumental of which is pretty nice, the above are my favourites though

Well while I wait for my motivation to keep writing to come back I'm gonna set up another project/idea I have. A Harry Potter fanfiction
Disclaimer- I do not support JK Rowling but I refuse to let her transphobia stop my ideas from forming and stop me enjoying fanfiction of Harry Potter
So. Here we go with my idea called:
A DIFFERENT MARAUDERS
In this universe there isn't just four Marauders but six. Two girls join the four boys in a mad group of pranking and jokes. Here's the little gang
1). James Potter
James is a young pure blood wizard from a light-grey orientated family. He grew up being doted on and spoiled by his parents and has a positive, slightly naive outlook on life. His father is Charlus Harry Potter a well known and respected auror while his mother is Dorea Aries Potter nee Black a highly talented and celebrated potioneer. James arrives to Hogwarts ready to cause mayhem and have fun while learning what he can, making friends along the way
Name: James Charlus Potter
Species: Human
Blood status: Pure-Blood
Birthday: 27/03/1960
Animagus form: Stag
Marauder nickname: Prongs
Best subject: Transfiguration
Pet: Nimbus (Male black owl)
2). Sirius Black
Sirius is a slightly older pure blood wizard from a notoriously dark family. Sirius has marked himself as the rebel, wanting nothing to do with his family's legacy and reputation. His father is Orion Scorpio Black a politician and his mother is Walburga Gemini Black. Both parents are bigots, hating anyone who isn't pure blood, pure human. Sirius is mostly unsupported at home but still carries a joking, devil-may-care attitude towards life and finds fun in pranks and jokes. Sirius does have three close family members that he loves. His uncle Alphard, his cousin Andromeda and his younger brother Regulus.
Name: Sirius Orion Black III
Species: Human
Blood status: Pure-Blood
Birthday: 03/11/1959
Animagus form: Dog
Marauder nickname: Padfoot
Best subject: Transfiguration
Pet: Apollo (Male tawny owl)
3). Remus Lupin
Remus is a quiet but sarcastic half blood hiding a secret from his friends. Remus is a werewolf, bitten when he was only four years old. His father ia John Lyall Lupin, a creatures expert and his mother is Hope Isabella Lupin nee Hartman, a muggle doctor. Desperate to keep his friends but to hide his curse, Remus makes up stories for why he must disappear so frequently. Remus is the smartest of the Marauders -although the others definitely aren't stupid- and is frequently the brains behind their pranks. Remus found friends who would never desert him and later finds love with Sirius Black
Name: Remus John Lupin
Species: Werewolf
Blood status: Half-Blood
Birthday: 10/03/1960
Animagus form: N/A

A couple days later was the twins birthday party. All the special guests, Perry Hartman, Peter Lowenthal and Roxie Cahill were all in attendance.
The last to arrive was Perry, who is a couple months older than the twins and had already aged up to a teen. He is the adoptive son of Ian Manichevitz and Daniel Hartman. They also recently moved to Willow Creek as Daniel was named at the Chief of Police there.
LOGAN- “I am so glad you were able to make it Perry. Are your dads coming in?”
PERRY- “No, they had some errands to run. Wow, Logan and Jonas Schrieber teenagers!! Just you wait Lo, being a teenager is crazy wild! So many new emotions and weirdness. Plus it is like I instantly grew three feet and became extremely smarter. My dads had to go buy me an entire new wardrobe because I out grew everything instantaneously!!”
LOGAN- “You are smarter Perry, you just used the word instantaneously! I can not wait. So will it happen tomorrow or when?”
PERRY- “Not sure if it works the same with everyone, but I changed the minute I blew out my candles.”
LOGAN- “Are you pulling my leg, Perry?”
PERRY- “No, not at all, Lo. I am serious. It’s like the Watcher just presses a button and POOF! You have aged up to a teenager, complete with all the angst.”
LOGAN- “Angst? What is angst?”
PERRY- “Not really sure, that is one of those new words that just popped into my vocabulary. Come on, let’s see if your birthday cake is ready. I can not wait to see how you will look as a teenager.”
LOGAN- “I am sure I will be beautiful!”
PERRY- “Well... DUH, of course you will.”

Transformers: Prime Director’s Commentary, Ep8-13
GCon Job (n/a)
Convoy (Peter Cullen, Rafi Ruthchild, Stephen Davis)
-Peter says “aka” like “ahka”. why
-show is produced “filmetically”, to have same level of detail as a live-action movie
-Cullen’s voice is so naturally chocolatey
-Peter enjoys greatly the episodic recordings compared to the films bc he gets to work with other talented actors for several hours at a time
-viewer feedback plays greatly in development, particularly by the voice actors by creating emotional connections
-”[Clancy] scared me” -Cullen talking about Shawshank Redemption with Clancy Brown
-Cullen’s voice was cultivated through multiple vocal trainings, etc
-”I’ve actually often wondered what Optimus would sound like on helium, what that would do to your voice”
-”Frank is the king... he was constantly trying to make me laugh and would catch me drinking a bottle of water between takes and get me to laugh so much that water would spurt out of my nose and ears and eyes” -Peter Cullen
-talked about a young fan named Sophia who was incredibly happy to have Arcee as a female Autobot role model
-talked about wide audience crossing multiple generations and for boys and girls that made the show relatable
-”This is the kind of show that will live on for a very long time that will continue to draw new audiences” -Stephen Davis
Deux Ex Machina (n/a)
Speed Metal (n/a)
Predatory (Todd Waterman, Sumalee Montano, Josh Keaton)
-note: Waterman uses the term “show” throughout this commentary but I think he’s talking about the episode itself because of the context around the use of the word, rather than TFP as a whole
-this show/episode was particularly difficult for Waterman bc it was made with a horror angle as opposed to the action shows that he previously worked on
-this was David Hartman’s favorite show/episode from season 1 (unsure about terminology they use)
-”lassho”
-”Never for a second does [Gina Torres] play at being evil, or mean, or anything, she doesn’t play at it, she just is [Airachnid]” -Sumalee Montano on recording with Torres during the session for this episode and how she was able to bounce off her energy
-”[Torres] raised my game that much more” -Sumalee Montano
-Montano first saw part of the episode from a preview from MTV or some similar channel
-”When I got to the girl-on-girl bot fight, I literally jumped out of my chair and was like ‘YESSS THANK YOU MARSHA!!’” -Montano
-for Tailgate’s model, Cliffjumper’s model was modified and retextured to have its head removed
-”Tailgate was thrown at me that day, so I didn’t have time to think about voice, or his character, but he sounded like an older Jack, which further solidifies Arcee’s attachment” -Todd Waterman
-they were really surprised Tailgate’s death scene managed to pull through unscarred
-”When I prepare for stuff, I visualize in my mind’s eye imaging all of that stuff, paint the picture, what that dungeon smells like, what the temperature was” -Montano on prepping for voicework
-they cheer for Arcee breaking out of the webbing and its so cute
-JOSH WAS RUNNING ON A TREADMILL FOR HIS CHASE STUFF WHAT
-no specific horror film references
-Montano really likes the “So much for closure line” that they boosted the episode audio for it specifically
Sick Mind (n/a)
