✧ regardless of whether or not you’re also in the public eye, i feel like dream would really want to keep your relationship a secret, because he knows you’ll undoubtedly be swarmed with a tsunami of negativity

✧ unfortunately, he’s no stranger to receiving hate, and i think he would try his absolute hardest to protect you from having to deal with it, because he knows how overwhelming it can be

✧ however, let’s say that whether by accident or on purpose, people found out about you

✧ a ton of dream’s fans are super nice and they really appreciate how happy you make him and they think you’re super cool!

✧ although, a good chunk of them also aren’t so nice, and there’s a ton of little b-words on twitter just trying to be mean to you >:(

✧ it’s sort of inevitable that when you’re around somebody with that much media attention, there are bound to be people with something bad to say

✧ i imagine you would have known this, and you’d brace yourself for it as much as you could, but it would probably be pretty hard to prepare for something like that, and naturally, it might get to you a little

✧ dream would be super apologetic to you, i think, because it’d be a bit hard not to blame yourself when somebody you love is getting that kind of attention just for being in your life

✧ you know it’s not his fault though, and you tell him that whenever he starts to feel guilty about it

✧ he’d definitely comfort you if the things people were saying started getting to you. i know i’m a pretty sensitive person so i’d definitely need a few hugs to feel okay after that

✧ i know he’s had a tendency in the past to speak out of emotion when people say things that upset him, so i think there could realistically be a possibility of that happening (because it upsets him that people who don’t even know you are being so blatantly cruel for no reason), but i also think he’d want to have a level head when talking about it, because it’s not just him he has to think about, it’s you

✧ the way i can imagine him addressing it is by doing a short stream, maybe 10-15 minutes and being pretty direct about it

✧ i think, to him, making a tweet would feel too impersonal, and, for your sake, he wouldn’t want to make it into a massive thing (i don’t know about you but my anxiety would go 📈📈 if i had the entirety of twitter talking about me), but it’s a big enough thing that he wants to speak one on one with his audience and let them know that he won’t tolerate any level of unkindness towards you

✧ he’d try to be as composed as possible, but it’s a naturally upsetting thing, and he’d come off as very stern (as he should though). i feel like he’s gotten pretty used to sitting there and accepting the hate he receives, because at this point, it’s part of the job and there’s nothing he can really do about it, but he refuses not to defend you, because there’s no way you deserve the way people are treating you

✧ if you asked him not to say anything about it, i honestly don’t really think he’d want to listen. he wouldn’t directly go against your wishes, and if you really didn’t want him to, he wouldn’t, but he’d definitely try to plead his case and let you know that it’s important to him that he doesn’t let people think it’s okay to talk to you like that

✧ at the end of the day, he just wants you to be okay, and he’ll respect you on the way you want the situation to be handled

✧ if you want him to ask his audience to stop, he’s already taking mental notes on what he’s planning to say

✧ if you just want to shut out the world for a bit and spend time together, he’s wrapping you up in a tight hug before you can even finish your sentence

✧ he loves you, and he’d do absolutely anything for people to realise how incredible you are

✧ i can’t see him talking about it on stream, just because that doesn’t really seem like his style, but he wouldn’t hesitate to ban people from his chat (or directly call them out) if they have nothing nice to say

✧ in all honesty he’d probably get so caught up in being mad about it and fighting people online that he’d sort of forget to check in with you and see how you’re doing with it all

✧ once he does remember, though, he’s very attentive to what you need to help you through it

✧ if you’re pretty upset about it, he’d probably have to fight the urge to pull out his phone and berate everybody who played a part in making you that sad

✧ but he knows in the moment that that’s not what you need, and he’ll remind himself to focus on you instead of them

✧ i feel like him asking you what you want him to do is less “what do i do?” but more “here’s what i’m going to do”

✧ he’s a bit like dream in the sense that if you really, really didn’t want him to make a big deal out of it, he would respect that, because at the end of the day, you’re his main priority in this situation

✧ but he’d be absolutely itching to let the people who are hating on you know exactly what he thinks and how little he tolerates their actions, to the point where it’s probably better to just let him do it and deal with the consequences

✧ once he knows for sure that you’re okay with him addressing it, oh boy, he goes off

✧ if you think for even a second that this man wouldn’t fight tooth and nail to defend you, you’re incredibly wrong

✧ he’d fight everyone in the entire universe for you if that’s what it took for them to shut the hell up and stop being bullies

✧ he’d probably shut his phone (and yours) off for a little bit afterwards just so there’s some distance between the both of you and everything else

✧ the time away would definitely do you some good, and it gives him the opportunity to give you his absolute, undivided attention, which, let’s be honest, he always does regardless

✧ george is the one i think would be the most passive about it

✧ not passive in the sense that he’s at all okay with it, because he’s definitely not, but more in the sense that his focus would be entirely on you and how he can help you, rather than on how he can address it

✧ he’d be like dream in the sense that he feels extremely guilty that you’re getting this hate essentially because of him (even though it’s not his fault in the slightest), the only difference is that i don’t feel like he’d bring it up

✧ he doesn’t want to make it about him, because you’re the one being targeted, not him, and you’re the one that needs support

✧ he already doesn’t express his emotions much, let alone when someone he cares about is going through something this overwhelming

✧ he’d probably dread having to bring it up to his audience, he very much doesn’t seem like the type of person who enjoys confrontation or any kind of conflict

✧ nobody likes being surrounded by negativity, but i think george would get extra uncomfortable when there’s some sort of contention within his community, especially when it’s regarding someone he’s close to

✧ when it comes to actually addressing it, i think he’s the most likely to properly ask you how you want the situation to be handled and build off of that

✧ if you say you’d rather not draw attention to it, he’s completely happy to just hang out with you for a few days and focus on helping you feel better

the amount of faith i have in the sonic movie creators is incredible but also SO deserved. like oh, sonic's a free spirit so the first movie's probably going to end with him and the humans parting ways and "being better for having known each other"? nah bitch, they're gonna adopt him. okay tails getting adopted in the sequel is a given but knuckles is kind of a lone wolf so- NO WE'RE ADOPTING HIM TOO. these people understand my heart's desire even when i don't. at this point i could go for shadow either getting adopted or not but i have complete faith in his grief and trauma being heartbreakingly addressed. what would it be like if every movie respected their audience like this.

- you can blame his devil fruit for this, it’s not that he doesn’t feel the pain it’s just very dull. Like if you bring it up to 10, it’ll probably be a 5 to him

- when it comes to the pain, Luffy’s the type of boy who would just stand there confused.

- bc the pain is a dull, he just confused. Definitely bending over him pain and grabbing his stomach but besides that he just confused

- you on the other hand, was very disappointed. You hope for somewhat of a more extreme reaction form him

- compared to everyone else, Luffy’s just confused. But of course it’s not like Luffy has had any knowledge of period before hand

- you definitely had to spend most of the time explaining just what it is and how it’s supposed to feel.

- it wasn’t honestly even you who was the only one who was disappointed, the whole crew honestly was. Both you and Nami were the ones practically craving his reactions

- and of course when y’all didn’t, Nami was really about to just kick him the balls. At least that would cause the reaction yall wanted

Roronoa Zoro

- definitely talked a lot of shit. Saying that he can handle it and that it doesn’t hurt that bad a getting kick in the balls

- you can’t tell my Zoro is not that type of guy. He’s not saying the period pains don’t hurt he just thinks it’s not as bad

- he was quick to eat his words tho. As soon as you attach the machine and turned it up to like 2 Zoro was freaking out.

- Zoro could probably take a few of the higher levels like 7 or 8 but that's it, any more and he'll actually pass out

- you were enjoy the whole thing to, having someone as big and strong as Zoro bend over in pain over something that you experience every month

- he’ll send a lot of mix signals too, telling you to turn it off yet the go one higher. He just mostly wants to see if he can take the pain

- now Zoro knew of periods, but he’s a guy so he only knows so much and now knowing what the pain could be he’s definitely a lot more understanding.

- but yeah zoro would rather fight like 100 people than every do anything like that again. So it’s definitely safe to say that his respect for women in general has just gone up 📈📈

Vinsmoke Sanji

- gotta save the best for last!!

- now sanjis knows all about periods so he’s fully aware of just how painful it could get. And he definitely doesn’t want to experience the pain anymore

- but curious got the best of him, and he wanted to see what the pain for girls is really like. Oh boy, he quickly regretted it

- you put the simulator on like 3 and Sanji’s practically crying. The poor boy didn’t think it would be this bad

- if you bumped it up anymore he definitely would of passed out.

- for Sanji the pain wasn’t as dull as Luffy’s nor was he as strong as Zoro, so the pain was very strong for Sanji

- he definitely underestimated the pain. Like he knew he was bad but he didn’t think it was that bad. And taking pity on him you didn’t crank it up like you did with Zoro and Luffy

- when you try it to comfort Sanji, he was in shock when you were able to bump it up to like 8 and still act fine.

- I mean Sanji has already had respect for women but now he just respects them so much more especially when they are in their periods

- so when y’all are in y’all’s periods one the ship, Sanji will practically stop the world just for y’all.

At the end of Chapter 14, when Mando himself wanted to bust Mayfeld out of prison, I was nothing short of irritated. Do we really need to drag this asshole back into this?

But the first few scenes more than made up for it. First we have the prison droid threatening to shock him. Then we have the irony of this entire asshole lecturing Cara about common courtesy.

But then we have some of the most priceless moments of the episode:

When he thinks Boba is Din for a split second and is ready to flee.

Cracks a joke once he realises his mistake and then shits his pants when Mando steps out immediately afterward.

Priceless.

And the fact that he immediately thinks Mando's there to kill him lmao. Just the fact that Mayfeld is this terrified of Din just brings me immense joy.

Wonder what he thought when he realised that "the little green guy" he dropped on his head was actually Mando's son.

Oh, I also loved the side-eye Boba gave Mayfeld at his joke about Din.

Despite his general assholery, Mayfeld had some of the funniest lines of the season, with his scream-talking just elevating the moments.

The teasing when Din appeared in the tank trooper armour was light-hearted and hilarious, but then they actually got inside the juggernaut and Mayfeld started saying it feels better with the helmet off... like bro, let him be, he literally does not want to show his face, mind your fucking business.

Then he goes on about how they're the same, survivors, etc. rules about the helmet and then we're kinda like, well shit, he's starting to make sense for once.

Which also annoyed the heck out of Din.

Din being Din, responded with side-eye.

I cracked up a lot during the chase scene, esp at Mayfeld's "You should've left me in prison!"

While this post is abt Mayfeld, I can't not mention Pedro's fantastic acting in the mess hall. You can just feel Din's pain from having to reveal his face to Imperials all of people. You can see it in the desperate wild-eyed look on his face when Valin Hess confronts him, the subtle yet very revealing changes in expression, and the way he just freezes up.

I couldn't help but respect Mayfeld when he swooped in and covered for Din. He knew they were done for the minute Valin Hess stopped him, and instead of betraying or simply ditching Din, he stepped up to his ex-boss; the man he both feared and hated.

Another reason my respect for Mayfeld went 📈📈📈 is just because of the character growth.

This is the guy, who in Season 1, blatantly taunted Din for his beliefs and traditions. While I do think he's an asshole, I also think he taunted Mando more than he would have originally in the Razor Crest in order to prove himself to Xi'an and Burg, who actually started it. Burg just went straight for the helmet, trying to pull it off, while Xi'an just mocked Din with This is the Way.

But the fact that this same guy who said Let's all see your eyes, actually stepped up for Din at a time when he was exposed, vulnerable, and clearly not in a good state of mind is just... well, admirable.

There's a theory that since we could see Din's eyes through the tank trooper helmet, Mayfeld must've seen his eyes and eye colour then and just not said anything about it. Either way, the first thing Mayfeld notices are the eyes.

So he makes up a story and answers for Din, who is very much malfunctioning. We just call him Brown Eyes, was a nice save, but then he goes the extra mile and says Isn't that right, Officer? while giving Din a smile and a reassuring pat on the arm. I mean sure it's a travesty that Mayfeld's the first to see his face, but I ended up not minding much at all, seeing Mayfeld giving Din the support and respect he deserved.

When they sit down to have a drink with Hess, Din is still clearly out of sorts, so Mayfeld continues to answer for him.

And then I have no idea what the hell got into Mayfeld; picking a time like this to stand up to his ex-boss. But hey, I suppose the guy does need to sleep at night. It was nice to get his point of view, to find out about his experiences and what shaped him into the person he is. The fact that he still thinks of the people he served with, and all the other lives lost just adds dimension to his character.

I have to praise Bill Burr here as well. As open as Din's expressions are, Mayfeld's trauma and fluctuating emotions at Hess's monologue were written clearly on his face.

His and Din's expressions are proof that Valin Hess either cannot read facial expressions and body language, or he can but simply does not give a shit.

I loved Din's little head shake when he realised Mayfeld was going to keep provoking Hess. And then when he shot him, Din's just like bitch what the fuck?

Well, then they shoot everyone including that one poor shoretrooper who was just tryna have some lunch. Yes, I am still mad abt that.

But anyway, then we have probably my favourite scene of the episode. It's just the two of them in the room and they share a glance and Mayfeld promptly says, "You did what you had to do," grabs the tank trooper helmet and holds it out to Din. The same douche who would not stop pestering Din about the helmet just up and says I never saw your face. And then he turns away out of respect, to let him put on.

My heart soared for Din, cause from what he knew at that point, this guy had no reason to show as much respect as he did. Yet Mayfeld understood how much breaking his creed cost him, and just how far he was willing to go for Grogu. He understood what Din was going through, empathised and offered support and respect, even in the small ways he could. That was when my respect for Mayfeld reached the stratosphere and I knew I was doomed.

Then Din put the helmet on, suddenly becoming a fully functioning Mando again.

I kept replaying and guffawing at the scene where Din says keep moving or something to that effect and Mayfeld replies with a "The hell you think I'm doing?" Peak comedy.

Tiny details like Din helping Mayfeld up once they jumped onto Slave I just stick out to me for some reason. Idk, I guess I'm just a sucker for Mando being protective of people he doesn't even know that well.

Anyway, Mayfeld blowing up the refinery with a cycler rifle made me almost as sceptical as him shooting that unarmed shoretrooper. Like, sure the higher-up Imps are proven assholes but can you really say the same for the troopers? Some of them could either be innocents forced into it like Kuiil was, or people who serve for money because they were left with no other option. By blowing up the base, Mayfeld may have gotten his revenge and loosened the Imperial hold on Morak, but ultimately? He basically just did exactly what Valin Hess did by killing potentially innocent troopers.

But apparently it's not a big deal, cause Mayfeld has to sleep at night. 😐

At least this was genuine. I think.

It was both hilarious and kinda sad when he thought they were gonna kill him when Cara mentioned his death. But in the end, it turned out pretty okay for them all.

Well, except Din. Poor thing's probably still crying for his baby inside Slave I.

Anyway, it was one heck of an episode and one of my favourites of season 2.
