Additional Information on WMMAP's Donghua Production
I've been trying to find some additional information on the guys who are making WMMAP's donghua. Here's some of my finds!
Tumblr media
Original post by Kuaikan on Weibo
Producer: Kuaikan Manhua (WMMAP's chinese publisher. They're in charge of various other famous titles like Mo Dao Zhu Shi) and iQIYI (produced My Roommate is a Gumiho in partnership with Korean Television and Luoyang. Also a very big broadcasting platform, a.k.a "China's Netflix".)
Animation: Colored Pencil Animation. Produced Blades of the Guardians, the Obey Me anime and The King's Avatar (you can see the other series they've worked on by looking up at their site). They also show up on Anime News Network as the company responsible for the key animation and/or 2nd key animation of the following series:
Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan: Season 3, Episode 12
The God of Highschool: Episode 9
SSSS.Gridman: Episode 6
Show By Rock!! Mashumairesh!!
Bakumatsu
Yasuke: Episode 4
Broadcaster: iQIYI
Director: Zhang Yingying (张盈盈). Very difficult person to find information about. They doesn't seem to have a Weibo profile (otherwise, Kuaikan would've @ them). Tried to search their name on the searchbar and nothing. Writing 张盈盈 + 魔法公主的小烦恼 also didn't lead me anywhere. Writing 张盈盈 anime on the google search led me to this website, where it shows they've worked on The King's Avatar's storyboard and direction.
Another Zhang Yingying with ties to the animation industry is the director of photography to Vanitas no Carte and Mob Psycho, but they're probably not the same person, since the chinese characters for their names are different (张盈盈 and 張 盈穎).
-------------------
This was all the information I could find for now! Maybe I'll try later to see if I can find more interesting things!

A List of Dramas w/Good 2nd Lead Couples
My one and only friend with whom I can talk to about K-Dramas asked me this today while talking about many things, including Doom At Your Service:
What shows can you think of that had secondary couples that you did like??
And I thought that it was worth making a list about lol
So let’s go ahead and get into it!
Business Proposal
This drama has a wonderful B couple in my opinion! Like the A couple, the B couple has some really great funny moments as well as great cute romantic fluff moments!
I never found myself wanting to skip their parts of the show or thinking “okay, when is this over so I can see the main leads?” These two had a great relationship and it didn’t feel like a separate story that should have been made into a separate show.
The romance between them is pretty fast, but not in a bad way (the kdrama is only 12 episodes long after all)! I definitely recommend this if you just want romantic fluff and wholesomeness!
Tumblr media
Shopping King Louie (aka Shopaholic Louis)
For this show, I consider the romance between Mr. Kim and Ms. Busan Hatchet to be the B couple of this show (I can’t remember her name right now, but I remember her nickname lol). I find there’s very few shows with a love line for older characters who are 40+, especially when the A couple are younger and in their 20s.
I found that these two had a interesting, funny story and honestly I loved to see their romance. ❤️
Tumblr media
My Roommate Is A Gumiho
I actually really liked the B couple from this show. Even though their relationship originally spawned as a way to get a good grade in a class, these two idiots in their own different ways managed to make me be interested in their relationship. I love that the 2nd ML tried to help the 2nd FL to understand euphemisms and I loved that the 2nd FL was willing to lay claim to him and tell off his ex-gf.
Tumblr media
Goblin: The Great & Lonely God
The B couple of this drama were really good (certainly good enough that people wanted to see the actors in another drama together)! Their romance was tinged with plenty of sadness, but they had some great moments in my opinion and their romance didn’t feel like it felt out of place next to the A couple of the show.
Tumblr media
Extra-ordinary You
The B couple of this show are Do-hwa and the female lead of the comic book, Ju-da. I loved how even though it seemed futile, Do-hwa still tried his best to stand out and be remembered by Ju-da as something other than just a friend or “guardian angel.”
I’ll admit that I mostly watch this show for the A couple, but I find the moments between these two to be cute and sweet. ❤️
Tumblr media
Descendants of the Sun
This drama isn’t high on my list of things to re-watch, but I can’t deny that the B couple of this were really good and enjoyable to watch. They had plenty of funny moments as well as trying moments just like the lead couple and I didn’t find myself irritated by them or wanting to skip past their scenes. I think my only qualm with them was that the 2nd FL would pull rank a fair amount, but despite that, I didn’t dislike this couple at all.
Tumblr media
And that’s…that’s really about it honestly. I mean, I’ve only seen 44 K-Dramas so far, so this probably says something more about me than anything else lol There’s a number of dramas with B and C couple that I liked, but didn’t add because I didn’t know which to consider the B couple lol This list may get edited at some later point as I watch more dramas and maybe rewatch some previous ones and realize that I liked the secondary couple as well.
I find that I’ve watched way more dramas with meh or just flat out horrible 2nd lead couples than ones that I like. I may one day make a list for the K-Drama 2nd leads that I really didn’t like, but for now I like just doing a nice wholesome post of good 2nd leads ❤️

Lee Dam needed to hear this. However much the mountain spirit or anyone else try to separate her and Shin Woo Yeo, or force her to accept it’s her destiny to be with Seon Woo, she still has a choice. As a human she has free will and can resist destiny to choose her own path.

My K-drama recommendation master list Part 2
You can find part 1 here
Look, you gave us relatively new recommendations, what about ones older than 10 years? I'll give you my top 5
Princess Hours (2006) Is a modern Cinderella story. It's 24 episodes long. Available on Viki.
Personal Taste (2010) Honestly, problematic plot if you put your mind into it, but entertaining nonetheless. It's 16 episodes long, each one lasting a little over an hour, available on Viki.
Cinderella's Sister (2010) You hate every character, but there's still something that makes you watch it. Available on Viki.
Thank You (2007) was ahead of its time, it's about a single mother with a daughter who has an HIV+ diagnosis. 16 episodes long, each one lasting a little over an hour. Available on Viki.
Stairway to Heaven (2003) for a good melodrama.
What about romantic fantasies involving fantastic beings?
Guardian: The lonely and Great God(2016) A classic of the genre. It tells the story of a God who was once a man, and is being punished by immortality, unless he meets his bride, who just so happens to be a high schooler centuries later. Available on viki. 16 episodes long with 3 specials, all lasting about 75 minutes.
Hotel Del Luna (2019) it would be unfair to talk about Goblin, without talking about this other masterpiece about a being cursed into immortality and granted special availabilities along with it, but a curse is still a curse, and she must run a hotel meant for ghosts, where after centuries of being, meets a young man who is alive. Availability on Viki, 16 episodes long and each one lastz about 75 minutes.
Tale of the Nine Tailed (2020) You get to see Lee Dong Wook as another mystical being, and Kim Bum is his half brother. 16 episodes long and one special, each one lasting about 65 minutes. Available on Viki.
My roommate is a Gumiho (2021) what's up with gumihos? It's still airing. The title is self explanatory. Available on Viki and Qiyi.
Angel's last mission: Love (2019) is a cute and sad story about an angel who is about to ascend and a ballerina who has a cynical view of the world. Available on Viki. Each episode averages 30 minutes, with 32 episodes.
Doom at your service (2021) About to finish airing. It tells the story of a dying woman who wishes doom upon the world, and the doom who answers her plea. Available on viki, 16 episodes long, each one lasting about an hour.
The Scholar Who walks the night (2015) another Lee Joon Gi entry, but I swear all of his works are great, it's a period drama that tells the story of a scholar who is a vampire and the young bookseller he meets. It's 20 episodes long, each one lasting about an hour. Available on viki. Also, if you've liked Lee Soo Hyuk in Doom at Your Service, I advise you check this one out.
Tale of Arang (2012) two Lee Joon Gi entries in a row? Girl, you have to stop. Anyways, this one is another period piece of a magistrate who can see ghosts and the ghost of a young woman who doesn't remember her life, nor the cause of her death. Available on viki, it's 20 episodes long, each one lasting a little over an hour.
Look, those are fine or whatever, but I started as a K-pop fan, where can I see some idol dramas? Don't worry, I came prepared
Full House (2004) with Rain as the main character is the og idol drama in my opinion. Available on Viki. 16 episodes long, each one lasting about 73 minutes.
Imitation (2021) is currently airing, and it's literally an idol drama about idols. You can find a looot of idols too: Jeong Yun Ho and Park Seong Hwa from Ateez, Chani and Hwi Young from SF9, Park Ji Yeon from T-ara, Lim Na Young from I.O.I and Pristin, and although Jeong Ji So is not an idol, she is the main lead, and I absolutely love her, she's also in Doom at your service. Available on Viki.
Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog (2012) features Donghae from Super Junior, and if I'm going to recommend a Super Junior drama, I would rather recommend one featuring him over Siwon.
At a Distance the Spring is Green (2021) is currently airing too, and only has four released episodes, but I've liked it so far. Featuring Park Ji Hoon, and Kwon Dun Bin. Also, I have a lot of opinions about this show. Available on Viki.
I was going to put an IU drama but, all her dramas are good, so go and watch them all, the woman has range.
Dream High (2011) is the king of idol dramas, in my opinion. It talksa about a high school for people who want to be idols. Another one with a long line up of idols, so let me start: Suzy, IU, Taecyeon, Nichkhun and Wooyoung from 2PM, Ham Eun Jung from T-ara. Leeteuk (SuJu and Chansung (2PM) make cameos. Similarly to Imitation, Kim Soo Hyun is not an idol, but he's the main lead. It's 16 episodes long, each one lasting about 65 minutes. Available on Viki.
Wow, quite a few, but they all seem rather popular, do you have some underrated gems? I'm going to have to go down memory lane, but I do
The Queen's Classroom (2013) This one feels like a fever dream, because I'm aware it exists, I watched it back when it first aired, but I can't find it anywhere now. It's based on a Japanese drama of the same name. It's about a strict but warm hearted teacher and her students' lives and struggles. 16 episodes long. DM me if you find anywhere to watch it.
1% of Something (2016) is a really cute drama, the chemistry is off the charts, and if you're looking for skinship, this one is the one for you, underrated arranged marriage kdrama, I'm telling you. It's 16 episodes long, averaging 45 minutes, and it's on Viki.
I'm not a Robot (2017) has a really cute plot, not underrated per se, but not hyped enough. It's 32 episodes long, each one averaging 30 minutes. Available on Viki.
Do you like Brahms? (2020) is a music themed kdrama, really cute and wholesome. If you like 2setviolin and watched their critique on their YouTube channel, let me tell you, the cast actually knows how to play violin and stuff, and there's an actual child prodigy in there. It got so much hate bc of that one yt video. It's 16 episode long, each one lasting about an hour. Available on Viki.
Solomon's Perjury (2016) a good reflection on youth and the pressure society has. 12 episodes long, lasting about 63 minutes each. Available on Viki.
The Greatest Love (2011) is a super entertaining TV show, and just supper funny and cute. 16 episodes long, each one lasting around 65 minutes. Available on Viki.
Two Cops (2017) if you like Kim Seon Ho, I think this was his TV acting debut. It's a hilarious action comedy TV show. 32 episodes long, lasting around 30 minutes. Available on viki.
Do you have any recommendations where time traveling or time is central to the story?
Alice (2020) look, I can't give you a full explanation because it's too mind bending. Let's leave it at detective meets his mother. Available on Viki.
Signal (2016) The premise is similar to that of the movie Frequency (2000) in which there's communication between the past and the present via technology. The plot is based on the real Hwaseong serial murders. Really interesting. Available on Netflix. If you like the premise of communicating with the past via technology Call (2020) is a Korean thriller movie available on Netflix.
Chicago Typewriter (2017) this one is about reincarnation but we get to see both timelines. Available on Netflix.
Tomorrow with you (2017) Time-traveling but make it ✨depressing ✨. The story of a man who time travels, and how that ability messes with his marriage. Available on Netflix.
What about historical dramas? I don't really watch those, but here are some I liked
The Moon Embracing the Sun (2012) is one of the few I've finished. It's really good, it follows the love story of a king. Available on viki. 20 episodes long, each one lasting about an hour.
Gunman in Joseon (2014) Am I recommending you this one because of Lee Joon Gi? Maybe. It has 22 episodes, each one lasting about an hour. Available on Viki.
The Crowned Clown (2019) a story of the Prince and the Pauper if I must give you a description that is relatable, but if you know the book titled Skogland, it's closer to that. It's 16 episodes long, each one lasting about 80 minutes. Available on Viki.
I'm a little ashamed to say this, but do you have any BL? I do, I do
To My Star (2021) is a story about an actor and a chef, and how they learn to cohabit after the actor is forced into hiding. You can watch either the movie version or the drama version, both available on viki.
Color Rush (2020) is a modern romance fantasy about people called Monos who can't see any color unless they meet their Probes, however this may turn dangerous as the Monos may experience obsessive behavior, so what happens when a young high schooler meets his probe?. You can either watch it on its drama or movie version. Both available on viki. By the way, if you're a long time deobi and was wandering what happened to Hwall, he's one of the main leads.
You Make Me Dance (2021) follows the story of a university dancer who is in debt and his debt collector. Available on viki in both versions. The movie is 107 minutes long.
Just Friends (2009) is a short film, but ahead of its time, if you can't tell by the year it was released on. It's a cute story about a man who visits his boyfriend in the military. I found it in dramacool.
That's all from me, if you have any specific genre or them you felt I didn't add in, do feel free to tell me.

2021: My year in kdramas
2021 has to be the year that I watched, re-watched and dropped the most of amount of dramas. Up until 2020, I mainly lived in the romance section of dramaland until the disappointing offerings of last year inevitably pushed me to expand into sageuks, comedies, legal dramas, murder mysteries, thrillers and everything in between.
tldr: watch inspector koo, run on, diary of a prosecutor and the school nurse files.
This is less a drama review and more a review of my drama watching feelings:
Romances— Starting with this to ask, man, what was in the water this year? Tasted like a particularly strong distaste for women in the one genre that usually gives them the most room to breathe. My viewings are mainly a list of what I dropped when: She Would Never Know (dropped halfway), Anti-fan (watched for Sooyoung, no one else needs to endure this), My Roommate is a Gumiho (dropped, I don’t care about more Gumiho trauma, didn’t we already do Tale of the Nine-Tailed), True Beauty (for a hot second I was very taken by a very hot Hwang In youp in this Korean Student of the Year, dropped at ep 14) Hometown Cha Cha Cha (dropped at ep 12, I’m wrestling with a long rant about this which I will post when it’s readable, but it’s a strong NO from me), Yumi’s Cells (dropped halfway, read the webtoon so it was fun to see how they transplanted the cells but the romance is SO MUCH UNIMAGINATIVE HETEROSEXUAL CLICHE and in defiance of everything that makes a great Kdrama romance, I just couldn’t).
My biggest disappointment was probably Nevertheless. It’s in this section but I refuse to call it a romance. I really enjoyed the first half of this show despite having my guard high up and then it inevitably floundered what it had to say about young love and toxic relationships by overriding what the webtoon maker intended and what the show itself was laying out. And for what? Literally no woman on this gets any respite except for the two BFFs who fall in love. This show could benefit from pretending the last episode does not exist.
To all these makers, I ask, why would you do this to our heroines? *shakes fist* I’ve worried how Netflix and expanded international viewing could erode Kdrama storytelling, particularly in rom-coms. And it’s not because I don’t want them to experiment or flip the trope table. It’s just that past a certain popularity threshold, Netflix stories seem to get washed out, slicker in visuals but flatter in narrative. And I so don’t want Kdrama rom-coms to lose what makes them so delicious. Alternatively, I’ll dig back into older shows and hopefully keep finding more treasures.
I thought the romance in Dali and the Cocky Prince was pure cotton candy in a very makjang-y plot and I loved it except for one very questionable Kim Min jae dialogue. I’ve been waiting for lead role Kim Gyu young and I only say more, more, MORE.
But really the one drama that actually saved this genre for me this year was Run On and I’m glad I waited to watch it when I could really take it in. It is so well-written, performed and made. Smart and warm is rare and not easy to do and writer Park Shi hyun deserves everything for this. What’s done so well is how the story, its themes and character relationships are developed through language and movement. (The FL is a translator and the ML is an athlete.) Every Kdrama trope is probably in there and the writer is very clever about how she uses them. Love it! May eonni FTW.
Best dramas — Kooky, fun, smart and feminist, I think The School Nurse Files and Inspector Koo are the rare dramas that actually deserve a second season but I’d gladly go back to revel in all the absurdity of the one we have. Also, I literally do not know how to describe them beyond basic plot, so I just go around whispering them as recommendations to possible converts.
D.P. was hard to watch. Jung Hae in, Koo Kyo Hwan and Kim Sung hyun make it slightly easier to get through this ugly vortex of masculinity, power, obedience, compliance and duty. I’m jealous of how this industry gets to make a military drama like this.
I was so surprised by how good Diary of a Prosecutor was. On the surface, it shares elements with HCCC in that a purportedly snobby, smart woman unwillingly comes from Seoul to the countryside for work and is at loggerheads with the easygoing, son-of-the-soil hero. Except unlike Homecha, DoaP takes this tension and conflict to its realistic conclusions, doing justice to where these characters come from and where they end up. I enjoyed it so much. I particularly enjoyed the treatment of Cha Myung joo and how Jung Ryeo won played her. I thought it very fitting how much insight we are and are not offered into her. (Finger hearts for the writer!)
Age of Youth is not from this year but from the same writer who has quickly become a favourite of mine. I love how she sprinkles horror elements in a comedy drama about young women. The horror being the missteps/mistakes we make and how they haunt us. This combination of actresses was great. Han Yeri and Park Eun bin, please reunite!
Sageuks — This genre were a real eye-opener for me in how much they can encompass. I thought I was in for boring historicals, but they can be fun? Shin Hye sun is a walking theatre company unto herself in Mr Queen/Queen Cheorin and I think everyone should watch her run the show in this. Similarly, I think The Crowned Clown deserves a watch for Yeo Jin goo’s performance but unlike Queen Cheorin I wasn’t fully sold on the politics of the show because it’s a little wishy-washy about what exactly it is beyond the defiance of an existing system. That said, the plot did keep me engaged throughout.
Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryeong was excellent and cemented my love for Shin Se kyung. Cha Eun woo needs to do more unconventional heroes because he clearly has fun with them. Fantasy sageuks have fun in a way that even regular dramas don’t. And the fantasy is in not sticking to only that which is plausible.
I love Park Eun bin and for her I wanted to love The King’s Affection just as much. I mean she’s great in this, the problem is that the plot itself waffles on where to go and what to foreground when. I never thought I’d ask for more court politics over romance but I think this show shines in ep 11 and 12 when it balances both along with scenes of lightness and heavy drama. The second half of the show is stronger for it. But I really wanted more of Eun bin’s court and her political journey, the plans and contingency plans she was making for the many ways her future could unfold. Many points for being gay.
Bossam, on the other hand, was great fun for a while, including its politics and palace intrigue. Post episode 12 though, you realise the fun was in how much of the show takes place in villages or with the leads on the run and once that goes away, so does the fun. But all of the countryside shenanigans I craved, I got in Secret Royal Inspector & Joy. This show just lets its characters run wild and do anything they can or want, occasionally fall into traps, wrestle out of them and go back to more shenanigans. I love Kim Hye yoon as the loud, street and book-smart, divorced woman. Ok Taecyeon is literally a cartoon and my prime example for how much fun and range actors can have if they choose roles that are not inscrutable heroes/placid beauties. I still haven’t finished watching this but the general lesson for a good sageuk is to have the heroine’s active participation, don’t phase them out from all that intrigue. Bonus points for sexy Lee Joon hyuk cameo
I haven’t watched the sageuk of the year Red Sleeve. I’ll probably leave it for a binge in 2022.
BLs+web dramas — Light on Me and To My Star were the only BLs I watched, and the latter was super cute. If we must have mythical creatures fall in love with humans, let it be Kiss Goblin.
Comedy — I don’t think I’ve laughed during a kdrama as much as I did in the first half of Welcome to Waikiki. No character knows what they’re doing and everyone’s out of step with regular life. It falls into the trappings of the stereotypes it flouted and becomes more predictable in the second half, but it was still fun.
Blockbuster shows— I haven’t watched Squid Games and will probably come back to watch it when the world has forgotten about it. The weekly experience of collectively watching Vincenzo was very fun and I maintain that it is what it is because of how Jean Yeo bin plays Hong Cha young and the director-writer’s love for the Geumga plaza family. I devoured fan fic of this for a while (recommended).
Despite some quibbles, Hospital Playlist season 1 was such a warm cocoon for me that I was really looking forward to the second one. HP 2, however, turned those quibbles into huge disappointment. What S1 did really well was build background, relationships, character dynamics and motivations episode by episode, keeping us invested in the choices they made and the connections they developed. S2 didn’t build on any of that and instead gave us more of the same but with uneven plotting, pacing and a moral ground so high, I have a crick in my neck.
Dramas— Law School, for me, was half intriguing and half grating. I wanted more of the women and less of the posturing men. I will always love Ryu Hye young. Devil Judge played me with its facade of something substantial to say and then set it all on fire to stay nothing means anything *eyeroll*. Jeong Seona is queen of everything.
Watch Mad for Each Other for Oh Yeon seo and Gil Hae Yeon. I love every character (except the hero) but they, in particular, are amazing. Longer notes on the show here.
I binged Stove League in my love for Park Eun bin. The show itself was alright.
Murder mysteries/crime dramas — These were my go-to for high stress weeks. I found them very cathartic for peak anxiety. But I wouldn’t recommend everything I watched. Beyond Evil’s characters were compelling and its shock value was a great stress buster for me but I’d recommend reading these two reviews if you want to watch it critically (here and here). I watched Good Detective in a post vaccine delirium, perhaps the only way to watch it.
Two dramas I can recommend are Stranger 2 because Cho Seung woo, Bae Doona, Jean Hye jin and, maybe, everybody? He is Psychometric is what happens when murder mysteries are made fun. The strange thing about this show is how delicate it is about character feelings, failings and how accepting of neurodivergence, and how frustrating when it plays so fast and loose with medical terms. Still worth a watch.
Speaking of worth a watch, I finished watching Signal this year and finally understood what people were saying about its plotting. It was very watchable for that and for Kim Hye soo, despite a surprisingly overwrought Lee Je hoon. I thought Kim Eun hee was one of the few writers coming through for me this year. I raced through all the Kingdoms in one weekend. And then she said hold your horses and gave me Jirisan. All of this is basically testament to how much her writing is also subject to the  right treatment and the right director to elevate it. I have so many feelings for Jun Ji hyun and Ju Ji hoon in Jirisan and the show tried its best to stomp on them. Don’t watch, read these instead.
This year confirmed that the dramas I’d live in are Coffee Prince, Her Private Life and Flower Boy Next Door. I rewatched them all. *more finger hearts*
Honorary J drama mentions — Keita Hatsukoi which seems to be the Cherry Magic of this year. Alice in Borderland was fascinating to me for a while. I may have more solid feelings about this after season 2. But it’s part of a disheartening pattern in dramas taking strong source material and then flattening the women to inflate male feelings :/ Less of this in 2022 please.
Edit: Also, adding The Way of the Househusband here because how could I forget!!!

Kdramas watched in 2021 & January 2022:-
1. Run On....Liked it . Not gonna lie but found it slow while watching it for first time .Seo Dan-ah stood out for me for some reasons . Currently trying to watch it 2nd time in between..still finding it slow😅
2. Oh My Ghostess...A good show and pretty entertaining to watch .
3. Mr.Queen & Mr.Queen: the secret. ...Loved it. But this show absolutely needed to kill grand queen Dowager , minister and scarface.
4 Hospital Playlist....Must watch. Totally totally loved it. ❤️❤️Bidulgi Couple 😍😍
5. Welcome to Waikiki.
6. Her Private Life
7. Its okay to not be okay❤️❤️ I have to completely forget about this drama in order to re-watch it.😅
8. My love from the star
9. Vincenzo❤️ Episodes could've been shorter but this was a hella entertaining to watch their tom & Jerry kind fight . One show where I kind of liked the villain 😅
10. Do you like Brahms?❤️❤️ This one too is slow and I was completely uninterested in the 2nd lead/2nd couple story..so🙄 But lead couple is fab😍😍 Kim Min Jae became my bias😂
11. Legend of the blue sea
12. She would never know...Liked most of it except the Mother of FL as she was intolerable for me .
13. Crash landing on you
14. 18 again.❤️ Watched the movie and the show . All good.
15. So I married an anti fan
16. Doom at your service
17. Hospital playlist 2❤️❤️ This season felt more like a medical drama which it was and They had lesser group scenes as compared to S1 . But the group Dynamics was fun to watch. Special Mention to Jun Wan - Jae Hak and Rosa - Chairman friendship . Bidulgi still holds the favorite spot though ❤️❤️Do hope they make a Season 3 of this. 🤞
18. The tale of the nine tailed
19. Hometown Cha Cha Cha❤️❤️
20. Yumi's cells ❤️❤️The lead, the animation everything is great... waiting for Season 2 and after that hopefully season 3 .
Takeaway : You are the main character of your life and that's all that matters😊
21. Dali and the cocky prince❤️❤️ Moo-hak was hilarious 🤣🤣 This couple actually communicated well. The Villain got off easy but somehow realistic given his hold.
22. Go back couple.... finished it in 2 days so will say that it's good.
23. A love so beautiful .
24. Hotel Del Luna ...I know why I didn't watched it earlier bcoz i scare easy but it was worth it(Still got pretty scared though) Should I say I became a IU fan after this🤔 the girl is cute😍 Now will try to watch Beyond evil for the ML😁.
Started and gonna finish :-
Prison playbook...watched till episode 4.. Glued😃 as the episodes are so gripping/entertaining that I didn't realized that its 1 hour 42 mins long .(Looking at Vincenzo where I struggled because of episode length even though I liked the show)
Our beloved summer❤️❤️... Totally Loving it. Another show after HP2,Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Yumi's cells and Dali & the cocky prince for which I eagerly wait for next episode to come 😍😍
Edit : Finished it...now in process of re-watching because this show is flawless for me , even their pin drop silence is 😍😍
Move to heaven ..till episode 6❤️❤️ A major tearjerker but Absolute Gem of a show😍😘. Please watch if you haven't already.☺️
Edit : Finished .. Highly recommended ... totally worth it😊☺️
*Tried to watch Happiness but it creeped me out with the first murder culprit itself bcoz i am too chicken hearted . Will restart someday .
Lost interest :-
Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung...till episode 12/13
Pretty noona who buys me food
Just between lovers
The king's affection...till 13.
Now, we are breaking up..till episode 8...might finish this in fast forward only to watch the hwang siblings story arc.
My roommate is a gumiho...Not interested in lead characters from get go so dropped it. No offense to ML fans but I saw him in other shows like Go back couple, The boy Next door, sweet and sour and now we are breaking up and found him tolerable only in The boy Next door.

Thoughts on Ep 11 and 12 of My Roommate is a Gumiho
*spoilers below
My Roommate is a Gumiho started so strong, but what happened?? Episode 11 wasn’t it for me at all and 12 wasn’t any better. The characterization of Woo Yeo and Dam took a dive and they are acting in a way which doesn’t match who they were at the beginning of the drama.
At the beginning, Woo Yeo and Dam are thrown together and Woo Yeo is everything - kind, considerate, sweet, and tries to not to interfere in her life at all apart from keeping her safe.
Then comes episode 11 and he is obsessed with the fact that Dam and Seon Woo are connected - something which isn’t either of their fault. He even goes so far as watching her while she’s at work because the two of them work together. It’s normal to be jealous when you partner is constantly with someone who likes them, but in the beginning of the drama, Woo Yeo is characterized as someone who is very mature, free from a lot of petty human emotions, and who has seen a lot, so he is understanding. This isn’t understanding at all. He then tells Dam about the connection, but it doesn’t seem like he wants to be honest, but more like he wants her to make more of an effort to stay away from Seon Woo. Then in episode 12, he even sends Hye Sun on a trip so she can watch Dam for him to make sure she stays away from Seon Woo. Is this how he respects and trusts his girlfriend? At the end of episode 12 when Dam breaks up with Woo Yeo, it’s not because of his behavior towards her, but because he has been taking energy from people so he can be around her.
We see time and time again that Dam and Seon Woo have a genuine connection and from the dream, she herself learns that she could be happy with him. My problem is that Dam has lost all agency as this connection has been revealed. At the beginning of the drama, she had no problem voicing her own thoughts and making demands of Woo Yeo as he made demands of her. When he told her to stop eating chicken and drinking, she told him that he had to stop smoking, she insisted on continuing with her regular life even when the marble was in her, she even pretended not to know Woo Yeo for a while because she thought that was best. But now, she is pulled between what has been “destined” by the string and what Woo Yeo wants. Where is what SHE wants? Yes, Seon Woo confessed to her, but she was clear that she isn’t interested in him. The times they’ve seen each other have been because they are classmates, clubmates, and coworkers - all situations where people see each other constantly. Before she knew about the string connection, she didn’t act in a way that was dishonest, in fact, she was always really honest with Woo Yeo. It was only after she found out about the string that she started to avoid him, which is practically impossible because they have class together, are in the same club, and work together. She started changing her life, like quitting the job she needed to make money, because of what her boyfriend wanted. Woo Yeo should trust her to make the decision which is best for her own life, not try to control her because he wants her to be with him and not someone else.
I’m mostly disappointed in Woo Yeo because he started as such a strong character. He had great qualities and genuinely treated Dam with respect. I was rooting for him and Dam so hard. Seon Woo’s change was the opposite. He started as a low and climbed up on his own as he realized his own shortcomings. I can’t even say much about Dam because in these episodes she barely had a personality. All she seemed to do was pull away from one man because another man told her to. I really liked her character at the beginning and I hope in someway they turn this around.
I haven’t even started on the teacher/student this which is a plot line I absolutely HATE for so many reasons.
I’ll keep watching I hope I find something in the next episodes that makes up for this.
p.s. second lead syndrome has me in a tight grip. Though I know it’s won’t happen, I can dream.

Oh, Woo Yeo. He really was an idiot when he used that female professor to get energy and then lied about it until Lee Dam caught him in the act. Of course she is feeling betrayed and disappointed, especially since she has always been honest with him and now she finds out he betrayed her trust and lied to her. It doesn’t matter that he did it because he was trying to protect her from his hunger, it was still a breach of trust, since he didn’t tell her what was happening.

CURRENTLY WATCHING: July.
Tumblr media
KOREAN.
+ Hospital Playlist 2 (2021)(6/17-) ~ Airing. ★★★★☆
I am so happy to have the gang back for a second season. These first couple episodes have been so good and funny. The ensemble cast really brings to life the feelings and emotions of a close knit group of friends. It’s absolutely heart warming.
+ Nevertheless (2021)(6/19-) ~ Airing. ★★★★★
I am so intrigued by this drama so far. The pilot did a great job with setting up the two main characters' story arcs. Song Kang is brimming with this mysterious quality that fills each scene he’s in.
+ My Roommate is a Gumiho (2021)(6/3-) ~ Airing. ★★☆☆☆
It is always nice to have a fluff drama. I have to say that Jang Ki Yong is so easy on the eyes in this drama. Initially, I was worried about Hyeri. I am not a huge fan of her dramas, but here her character is cute and likable.
+ Monthly Magazine Home (2021)(6/16-) ~ Airing. ★★☆☆☆
So far I haven’t seen anything that really blows me out of the water, but I am happy to see Jung So Min back on the small screen. I haven’t watched anything of her’s since The Smile Has Left Your Eyes.
JAPANESE.
+ Daifugou Doushin 2 (2021)(6/6-) ~ Airing. ★★★☆☆
I am so enjoying the second season of this show. Yamaki Unokichi is such a dear. I love how the second season introduces this body double quality. The way Nakamura Hayato brings both characters to life is entertaining.
