The true ending is that Grif stays so that Red Team is just Grimmons, and their happy ending is discovering Simmons' authority kink every time Grif calls him "sir"

Honestly I’ve been enjoying RvB Fandom^TM so much because the approach I’ve seen basically everyone take to canon is like. Not disregard for canon but more regard for canon than it has for itself I think. There’s one early season throwaway line and no one draws Simmons without a robot arm. Gay jokes about Donut? ‘Ok he’s gay and we love him.’ Fat jokes about Grif? ‘Ok he’s fat and we love him.’ ‘Ok Caboose is supposed to be stupid for jokes? Here’s a chronological list of every real life (oxygen depravation) and in-universe (having multiple AI in your head) thing that happened to him and causes brain damage, wanna have an interesting discussion about it?’ ‘Grimmons is never going to be cannon but it should be and here’s 300 reasons why.’ I’m enamoured. I’m living it up. ‘yeah this is bad what next what if it wasn’t when we did it.’ Keep going. I want to bite this approach like a chew toy.

you know what the blood gulch chronicles are so fucking funny. the first few episodes is just a bunch of idiots shit talking. absolute useless nonsense.
but its not random rubbish being thrown around. the conservations, as ridiculouse as they are, have a flow. You can actually follow how you got from a to q, even if just looking at a nd q seperately is like, how the fuck did that happen. every comment bounces off of a previous one.
red team trying to name M12 LRV. its just gold. the bickering. simmons being the one not believing that pumas are a real animal. how they keep roasting grif for 'making up animals'.
the way the lines are delivered. it's hilarious.

Tucker: Ugh. Of course you have blue armor and pronouns.
Church: What? Of course I have -- why wouldn't I have pronouns, everyone has those! Do you--wait. Wait, Tucker look at me, look at me. Do you think, that you don't have pronouns?
Tucker: ...Well it sounds like you're getting ready to make fun of me so no.
Church: *audible grin in his voice* No, no, dude, come on. Tell me the truth, do you think you don't have pronouns? Like seriously.
Tucker: ...I don't wanna keep talking about this.
Church: *laughing* YOU brought this up, man! You can't NOT have pronouns, dipshit, they're automatic! I'm not gonna use your name every fuckin' time, that sounds stupid. 'Tucker went to Tucker's room because Tucker was being an idiot about grammar and Tucker was mad I made fun of Tucker for it.' See how fucking stupid that sounds without pronouns?
Tucker: *already walking away* Fuck you, dude!
Church: 'You' is a pronoun too, asshole!

redemption in red vs blue, specifically with wash but we see shades of it in carolina and locus too, is portrayed not as something that is earned, but that is given. it is ONLY through being offered forgiveness and compassion that these characters are able to improve. wash kills, attempts to kill, takes hostage and generally antagonizes the reds and blues; carolina threatens and endangers them; locus attempts genocide. but wash is offered a safe haven, carolina is offered rescue, even locus is offered humanity by wash and santa. they don’t earn their forgiveness, they don’t even say sorry. they don’t deserve this compassion. they don’t deserve to be redeemed. but it is only through being shown this compassion that they are able to be.
i don’t know. it’s just. kind of radical. anti carceral? to say not only is there no one who is unworthy of redemption, but the way to redeem them is not to wait until they come grovel to you, but for you to go to them.
when wash is given a prison cell, he turns into a villain. when wash is given friendship, he turns into a hero.

The Thief // Recovery
I was gonna save these to post when we got an official date for the final RvB season but who knows when that'll be so I'll throw them here now! I've never posted much cosplay on here but seeing as how my peak RvB days were on Tumblr it feels fitting that I post these here first :)
One of the main reasons I even got into RvB in the first place was because of @euniysu's art, and I fell in love with the Guns for Hire AU the second I saw it. These designs became instant dream cosplays of mine (honestly all of them did) and it feels fitting that ten years later just as the series is ending, I finally make them. It's also a way to celebrate 10 years since I found Rooster Teeth and fell in love with RvB (and saw these designs!). I'm so so happy I finally got to do these cosplays and I absolutely can't wait to wear them again (I'm York here but I made both cosplays and I'll be wearing Wash at the ren faire this weekend! It's time traveler's weekend and I think I'm funny lol). I don't know what it is about cosplaying York but i felt so Gender as him and am so glad everything came out well :)
A million thank yous to @magicalvoltage for indulging me with this shoot and @cloudcrouton for taking pictures <3 Can't believe I finally got to do these cosplays with friends, even if y'all aren't into the show :)
Also I saw that Syn is gonna adapt the GFH AU into an original webcomic and I absolutely can't wait to see it!! I still love seeing and supporting Syn's art and y'all should def keep an eye out for it too!
Original AU: @euniysu
Cosplays made by me

As much as I like to think I’ve moved on to the next fandom, I don’t think any media can hold the same power as Red vs. Blue had over me.
I remember the first time I watched the ending of season 13 and the hollow feeling it left in my chest, how I had to pace back and forth to cope.
It’s been years since I rewatched the show, but when I listen to “Contact Redux” I sometimes tear up.
The ending of season 8 still hypes me up in a way no other show can do.
The fact I cared so much about these absolute assholes that watching the first seasons just makes me excited to see them grow again.
Some jokes still make me chuckle when I think of them in my head. I have to restrain myself every time someone says the number eleven, because “THERE IS NO ELEVEN YOU FUCKING -”
Then the absolute tone shift: some lines have taught me so much and I will remember them forever. Will I ever stop feeling sad about Beta?
I think of: “Memory is the key” and “I forget you” and “I quit” and “Ain’t that a bitch” and “the former Director of Project Freelancer, Dr. Leonard Church” and I remember how much I love this show.
I can’t even look at a color and not think of the show.
I’m sad the series didn’t go out with a bang, not even a proper hrggh-blrrrg, but a sad pathetic whimper.
But sometimes, I think of the very beginning of a conversation, just two little words (“Hey.” “Yeah?”) and I smile.
