I gotta day I am ABSOLUTELY CHUFFED that my awesome 😎 friend @can swans01 made it to my 25th birthday 🎂 party last Friday!! He’s one of my friends from my Ty Hafan Squad, our palliative care support group that brings together young people who went to Ty Hafan and lived to tell the tale. I was so impressed by how confident Cam’s gotten in the last year; he only used to ever come to social stuff if that pain in the arse @bluebirdccfc94 was coming too... but now he’s a proper social butterfly! He came on his own with just his carer knowing only me and my parents, and he was chatting away to loads of my family and friends all night. It was honestly such a joy to see how confident he is! I’m super proud of you mate 😁! Also, I feel y’all need to know Cam made me AND my mum CRY by being a bastard and saying truly lovely things 😭🥰💖 My mum is officially your biggest fan Cam! Had another fantastic day of adventuring, coffee, grumpy bus drivers, dancing, and yummy food with my fantastic friend Lucy from @rubicondance yesterday 😁 Lucy suggested that we make this our weekly routine; she picks me up from LMC, we get the bus to town, pick up a Starbucks (whilst I use their loo to catheterise 😂!), get our bus to dance, dance 💃🏻, get our bus back to town, go for lunch somewhere yummy and gluten free, then get the bus home! I’m incredibly grateful to Lucy for volunteering her time not just for our dance class, but for me to be able to get to dance class, and now for us to go for lunch after class. My Thursdays are now guaranteed to be one of the best days of the week! I’m even more grateful to have Lucy as a friend 💖 she is honestly so cool 😎 and so much fun to hang out with! It’s such a beautiful thing when you make a new friend 💖 Lucy’s kindness has really helped me during a tough time 💖 it’s very easy on my Bad Days to only see the awful things in our world, all the pain and the suffering. People like Lucy, with their kindness, humour and light, make me see all the good in our world again 🌍💖 Mr Rogers once said “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” I’m delighted to know such a helper. He’s an absolute pain in the arse, but he’s also one of my best friends, and I wouldn’t be without him ❤️ @bluebirdccfc94 thanks for being such a good mate ❤️ you may drive me crazy and take the piss out of my constantly, but you’re always there for me when I need you, whether it’s to get through illness, bad news, a break up or a bad day. Having a friend who understands living with a life limiting, life threatening condition and all that it entails is a massive help... having a friend who understands you as a person is a blessing 💖 This lil shit on Friday... he asked me how I was and how mum and dad were and I answered honestly “not great... don’t be nice to me, okay, because I’ll cry!” And Tom says “okay, fuck off you bitch” 😂👍🏻 however the sneaky bastard hands me the card pictured a few minutes later... it says “you’ve changed my life” 💖 got a bit teary eyed, I’m not gonna lie! Tom also got a very big cwtch! Tom, you’ve changed my life too, and it’s 110% for the better. Thank you for being the fantastic human being you are.
