Let’s Try This Again...

So a few years ago I started another Tumblr the last time I was unemployed for a long period of time and it didn’t go that well at all. Back then I didn’t go in 100% and it definitely reflected in my posts (or lack there of) and looking back I feel the main reason that happened was because I wasn’t exactly sure why I was posting to begin with. Did I want to discuss my FanGirl obsessions, movies, music, TV shows, books, pop culture or serious topic matter? I honestly didn’t know. For some reason beyond my comprehension now, I thought I had to choose and that is part of the thought process that held me back. The other part was I didn’t think anyone would want to read or see anything I would post or if they did and I had posted something on a serious note, was I ready for that? Flash forward to now and here I am attempting this once again but this time I’m not going to hold myself or anything back. For years and years I’ve been told by friends, family, friends that are my family, that I need to do something like this. Well actually they said I should write a book or a movie about my life then it turned into the Lifetime tv channel should owe me some money because parts of my life has played out like one of their movie marathons (serious, not serious) but I never wrote a book or screenplay about my life and to this day I still haven’t received any money from Lifetime but there is this really nice Prince from Nigeria that keeps contacting me wanting to send me money so there is that.

The one thing people who actually read this will find out pretty quickly about me is that I am who I am. I own my shit and my past. I don’t apologize for it (but I will apologize for the fact that some people can’t handle it) and I don’t see myself changing anytime in the future nor should I need or have to. I guess that is the whole point to this. So many people, especially the younger generation feel that they have to be a certain way, look a certain way, act a certain way and to me that is complete and utter bullsh*t. You are who you are and that is perfectly okay. If everyone was exactly the same do you realize how boring this world would actually be? 

My friends (God love them) honestly think that by telling the stories of what I’ve gone through and interjecting my humor (although very inappropriate at times) combined with rants about things I’m passionate about (Movies, Music, TV, Football, My Friends) that if it helps even one person, then it would be worth it.Thinking about myself, if I had seen or read something from someone that was like me when I was younger telling me, “Hey, just ignore the noise. You do you and make no apologizes. I did it and you can too.” that would have helped me with a lot of sleepless nights. 

So if you have read this far, stay tuned and I swear I’m too old for this...
