Hi, 15-year-old Ma Angelique,

Today, I just want to write something about how much things are different between now and when you turn 35!😆

Fifteen years ago, Ate's wishes came true when you were born... and our lives have never been the same. Here are the things i love about you as you grow each day. I love how you are growing up as a person and as a little woman. Though you are physically weak due to your asthma, i love your strength and your fortitude. I love your humor as well as your sense of self. I love that you challenge yourself, push yourself, and work hard on the things you love most. I love that you love solving math problems more than solving life's problems (I'll handle the latter😆). I love your confidence and that independent nature of yours. I love that you want to help me with my labada kahit gusto mo pang matulog sana 😂 I love that you like cooking with me. I love that you are enthusiastic to do video edits whenever i need one. I love that you share parts of your life with me kahit malayo ako. I love your stories and your random chats that make my days better when things get crappy down here. I love most of all that I get to be your Mama and watch you grow and blossom.

My wishes for you today and for your life are simple. Be true to yourself and your beliefs. Know that you are amazing, with so much to offer this world. Tell your story. Be proud of yourself. Try to see the world in your own lenses, but dont be afraid to explore out of your comfort zone. Wonder from time to time, it’s a pretty magical place, allow it to surprise you occasionally. Pick your battles and make sure that the things you refuse to bend on are things worthy of the fight. Define YOU by your own code instead of who the world tells you to be. Don’t worry about pleasing other people or complying with standards. In a world that sometimes seems to be so full of hate, remember to always be full of love. Be kind. Show empathy - seek first to understand and then to be understood. Learn when to stop talking and just listen.

I want you to know that this is not my journey, it is yours! And while you may add a few more twists and turns on your life path than I would like, and you may sometimes dance in the rain to get to that success fields, I hope you always know this: There's no place like home and you will always be welcomed here with warm and loving arms.

I’m praying your life continues to be filled with God, joy, success, amazing friendships, love, laughter, and everything your heart desires.
