Chapter 142

a rant~

This chapter gave us a gut wrenching set-up

We get Myrtle and Sixtus having a small moment together which talks bunches about their relationship. They really love each other. Myrtle is able to be vulnerable with him. And Sixtus listens and wants what’s best for his big bro. Sixtus tries to cheer him up, and when Myrtle has doubts, he makes sure to bring back hope.

Look at how hopeful Myrtle’s face looks!

And everything to be just taken away from him the moment he sees his own father gift what he needed most to another. Give what he needed to their actual child. Like the last nail in the coffin sealing his fate. Showing him his not as important. That he was never meant to belong.

(Also, side note, I agree with what @winterlogysblog shared in this post. I think King had either already tried using the drug of Yore on Myrtle, or he knows it won’t work. Myrtle does not have an illness, it is because he is reacting to the air in the fairy realm that he gets all these symptoms. Taking it won’t change his situation.)

Also Tioreh being so scared that if Nasiens is her biological brother that will somehow replace Myrtle. It is so sad. Specially considering Tioreh is very young. What has she seen? Fairy child is brought back, human child is taken out. If they take in Nasiens, then it seems logical for her parents to throw Myrtle away. (Sweet girl got me crying with her too)

And finally concerning King and Diane as parents… I’d just say it’s complex. They should have probably discussed many things with Myrtle before, but at the same time,I try to understand them. People were already whispering about the relatedness between them and Myrtle. Myrtle already felt so alienated. They probably didn’t want to exacerbate any of those feelings. But they will be facing the consequences, all at once. I feel we’re in for a whole lot of family drama.

So..... looks like my assessment on Mertyl's character is correct. Imma pat my back on that one.

Well I'm not exactly right. But I got the main point correct. Mertyl is scared to be set aside, cause he loves his parents and he knows they love him but he has doubts that he's their real kid even the fairies around him doubt that he's their kid because of how different he looks that's why he feels weird to receive that kind of love from them.

I know the translations is trash but this is what I got.

"If your real son were to appear in front of you, would you say the same thing?"

"Would you say those sweet words and love him just as much or maybe even more"

Chapter 142 of 4kota was a lot.

So starting off Diane is very cautious about her children’s feelings, especially about how they feel about Nasiens. It also seems like Diane is not extremely effected by not telling, confirming or showing that Nasiens is her kid. Probably because she knows how it would make Mertyl feel knowing that he’s spent his whole life feeling like a misfit in their family.

Then there is King. He expresses to Nasiens that he has been looking for them since he lost them. I really think this shows he wants Nasiens into there family despite how it would make Mertyl feel.

Also King wanting to give Nasiens the drug of yore to try to save Percy shows he cares for Nasiens. He could’ve given it to Myrtle knowing his health is rapidly declining but he chose not to. Maybe it’s just King wanting to be forgiven by Nasiens for not being able to find them, or to show that he didn’t replace them. Though it could also be that King isn’t giving the drug of yore to Myrtle because he know that it might not work for him or it would be a waste, since the forest is what’s causing his health to decline. Since the drug of yore is so rare he might not want to give it to Myrtle knowing that it might be able to help one of the four knights of the apocalypse.

Oh and…

It seems like Phao over heard Diane and Tioreh’s conversation so depending on the type of person they are they might go and tell their siblings.

Page 17: It's the changeling!!! Changeling!!! There's a changeling in the border ring's vicinity!!!

And nothing had happened there for a long time. What is the meaning of that...?

Page 18: A changeling refers to a substitute child. A substitute child?

It's the doing of prank-loving Fairies. Do they exchange a Fairy child with a Human one?

Now think about Nasiens and Myrtle's looks comparing to King&Diane again... and also those sad faces of the parents while looking at Nasiens.

1+1 = Familiar Drama is coming

Ooh family drama indeed.

In my opinion though. This theory is highly probable but I don't wanna go too far into saying that Nasiens is the actual child that got switched with Myrtle just yet.

Also, we're not sure how changelings work in the NNT/4KOTA universe, so anything is possible.

First major problem with this theory is. This is King & Diane's eldest child we're talking about. No one is stupid enough to pull a changeling on the Fairy King's kid for shits and giggles and even if someone did surely they'll notice something is wrong and do something about it.

Second problem, if Nasiens ended up being their actual child, then Nasiens won't be able to enter Camelot.

Both Nasiens and Myrtle could very much well be changelings and if that's the case then I think Myrtle knows that he is and I suppose that's why he acts the way he does.

Nasiens does have a striking resemblance to King and Diane and I can see him being their actual kid but I also gotta remember Nasiens aged normally back in Echo Gorge, Nasiens aged like a normal human which isn't something you would see in Fairy-Giant Hybrid. Nasiens being a Half Human-Half Fairy like Lancelot would make a lot more sense in this case.
