Why? When I started the journey from stuck in the overwhelm, anxious, depressed ready to run away to in control of the CHAOS, more organised, feeling better about motherhood more positive about the future. I had to start with why? Look at those little faces. Innocent, happy little faces. When I look at them I feel sad. Sad that those faces of my biggest twins I missed growing into bigger kids. Sad that at that time I was always looking to get to the next better thing. The next stage, the weekend, just willing time away. My why. Is so that I never miss any more adventures. So that I can live a life that feels like I’m really living. So when I get to the end whenever that may be (hopefully in a very long time to go) that my kids are proud of who I am, who I was, that they have fond memories of our adventures to pass along to their kids. Why I Became a Writer

This is my first post in 2023

I just attended my first day of a 12-week course and it reminded me of why I wanted to be a writer.

As a young girl before I could even form words, let alone sentences I would mimic what I would see in books and try to write the letters inside that very book. 

Little did I know it was an expensive set of encyclopedias, you know the world’s original Google. All I know is my grandmother was mad! 

So I began to watch television shows and movies. My favorite show was Murder She Wrote and the movie was The Toy. 

I had never met any black writers before and Mr. Brown never gave up no matter how many times he was told to GET OUT, GET OUT,  GET A JOB, GET A JOB, GET A JOB! 

So I won’t either. The movie The Toy Made me want to become a writer.
