Swapping out the Razor Crest for the N-1 is like swapping out an old family campervan being held together by hopes, dreams and duct tape for a brand new motorcycle.
Ok. So I might have messed up and not taken pictures of my progress for this build. I was having so much fun and the thought went right out the window. So, I will show you the pictures I do have, but I believe they鈥檙e mostly the finished product 馃ズ馃ズ馃ズ Sorry
Here鈥檚 the prep. As you can see, it鈥檚 not many sections. The perks of building a space sports car lol.
DIN鈥橲 FACE!!!!!!! YAY!!!! And he also has the darksaber, a belt (not pictured bc I didn鈥檛 know how the belts worked at this time), helmet (duh), and a jetpack! He doesn鈥檛 have a cape this time, but the jetpack was a nice surprise.
I鈥檓 just now realizing these are sucky photos of B-D and Peli Motto 馃槀馃槀. B-D is so cute!!! He鈥檚 so tiny, just one piece. Peli is just amazing. Her hair did receive a glow up tho. The wrench!!!
And here鈥檚 the finished product! It took me about three hours to complete, so, not a bad build. You can see Grogu in his lil bubble. I would show close up pictures of him, but he hasn鈥檛 changed design and I have limited picture space on here 馃槀 Also, the engine cap (???? Dunno what it鈥檚 called, I鈥檓 not a car person) when pressed down, releases a missile from the center below. So fun.
The underside- I鈥檓 so glad this ship doesn鈥檛 have any landing gear like the Razor Crest because those suckers pop off when I just touch them. The Starfighter has a nice smooth bottom 馃榿 Although, the booster in the back likes falling off, but it鈥檚 a lot easier to reinstall than the Razor Crest鈥檚 landing gear. Also, the tail is like rubber. Wasn鈥檛 expecting that
In the middle of the ship, between the engine and the cockpit, there鈥檚 a compartment to store Din鈥檚 jetpack and darksaber (and maybe a B-D stowaway, haven鈥檛 tried that). This was super neato. But! Not as neat as the thrusters on the wings (sorry, I don鈥檛 know their names). Between the first picture above and this picture of the thruster, they鈥檙e both a bit different. And! They鈥檙e both made of random, mismatched parts (i.e. boat paddles and blasters). This is to mimic Din and Peli鈥檚 patchwork when building this ship from scratch! So cool.
And finally, for your viewing pleasure, a test run.
Another Stud.io build. I鈥檓 a little late to the bandwagon, I know, but I like how this turned out (even if it鈥檚 not the most accurate)
Initially I had a different design for the engine and the tail thing, which I wound up changing due to a mix of not being able to find the physical part and the design not working. Luckily, the latter is all internal, so none of it really shows and it was easy to fix.
I would love to see a better picture of the N1 model on top of those shelves if I could.
It's the most beautiful ship in the series
And if you don't wanna thats totally fine
Yeah no problem!
I had to dust it off first cause it鈥檚 been up on the top of that shelving unit for a hot minute 馃槄 But I got this, I鈥檓 guessing, as some kind of gift from my parents, possible a birthday thing. Cause this model is from the year the movie came out and I would鈥檝e been 7 and had zero income (maybe I had started getting an allowance by then but I don鈥檛 remember, and I mainly spent that allowance on either Transformers or used gameboy games at the local Game Crazy). I know I got this around the same time as I got that promotional Battle Droid and STAP figure set, which was the first actual prequel toy released that was released either at the start of 1999, or in 1998 to help hype up the movie (cause like 50% to two thirds of Star Wars profit comes from the toy sales). But yeah. I鈥檝e had this baby for 24/25 years.
