It was the end of the world kiss

Riona couldn’t sleep.

How could she? She was just broken out of Esthar, a place where she was treated like a lab rat. She thought she was trapped forever, the doctors glared at her, hated her, and the food was awful. She thought she was going to die there,

But she didn’t die. She was rescued, Squall saved her.

So now She’s on the Ragnarok, just staring out the window of the pilot seat. Just looking at the stars, thinking about a lot of different things. Like whats going to happen in the final battle. The hope is that they’ll defeat Seifer and save the world. Ultmecia will be defeated before she ever got started, they’ll all be hailed as heros and Riona can go back to her old life.

What life?

“Selphies gonna be mad if she finds you in her seat.” Started a voice

Riona jumped and turned around and there was Squall, breaking her train of thought, again. Why does he keep doing that? Although he intrupt her thinking she was happy. There is only one person that Riona feels safe around since she became a sorceress. Squall, The leader of Seed, the protector of all humans.

Her true love.

She flashed a smile, “Hey Squall, you should be in bed, what are you doing up?”

“I was heading there.” Squall grunted, “But you weren’t in your bed so i went to look for you. Whats wrong?”

“N-Nothing. I... just wanted to see the stars.”

“Mind if I join you then?”

Riona’s heart skipped a beat, “Sure.”

Squall sat in the seat next to her, the seat Riona sat in when they were in space and he held her. With the night sky it dosen’t feel much different then back then.

“The sky is pretty.” Squall stated looking up.

If he had said that to anyone else they would of looked at him odd, Squall was not that kind of person, at least on the surface. But Riona knows him better then anyone, Squall is really sweet when hes out of his shell. She’s seen him comfort crying students and protect her and everyone with his life. 

Its one of the many reasons she loves him so much.

“Yea it is. Um, Squall, can i ask you a question.”

“Shoot.”

“What happens.... when we win?”

Squall turned to gaze at her, a puzzled look in his eye; did he not think that far ahead, no that look has a different feeling to it.

“Hmmm, I want to say we all go back to our lives. But... I don’t want that anymore.”

“Why?” Riona asked puzzeled.

“Things have changed with me, I still want to lead Seed, I will do that till i die, people need me even after we beat Seifer and Ultmecia. But.... there is a certain someone on this ship, someone that if we go back we’ll never see each other again. And.... I don’t want that. Not at all.”

Was he going to say that he’s in love with someone else? Who could it be? Selpie? Qutisis? Riona felt her heart closing and shes felt like she couldn't breathe.

“Oh.” Riona mumbled disappointed.

“Do you want want to stay with me?”

Riona’s heart perked up, “Huh?? But... the way you worded it....”

“I.... gods I’m new at this.”

“ugh, Squall, don’t do this to me! The world is ending! You know they’ll never let me be alone Esthar will do anything to get me back once this is over! If you're gonna tell me something then say it! Tell me how I feel before they throw me in a cell for the rest of my life!”

Squall sighed, not the annoyed one he normally does when Riona act like this, but like he was bracing for something.

“Riona, Please when this is over, when we save the world. Come live with me, be with me for all time. I love you. I want you in my life, For the rest of days. I...want you to be my girlfriend.”

Riona gasped and covered her mouth; tears swelled in her eyes, “You.... Yes! Yes I’ll be your girlfriend!”

Riona then got up to her new boyfriend cupped his face and kissed him as hard as she could. She wanted him to experience everything bout her mouth, her lipstick and all. Squall kissed back, coiling his arms around her. Pressing him to her, they were together and they would be till the end of time.

When their lips parted they both were blushing, “I love you Squall.” Riona flushed, “Now and forever.”

“You better love me,” Squall mumbled blushing too, “I’d be lost without you.Now, why don’t you get some sleep.”

Riona kissed him one last time and did so, when she was gone Squall smirked.

“Riona, I’m your knight now. I don’t know what its going to take to be together for as long as i want but it will happen.”

When this is said and done Squall thought Esthar better drop hurting Riona.... I’ll wage a war they can’t win if they don’t
